Messages beta: turn off Read Receipt

When I first installed Messages beta, I enabled Read Receipts. But I'm 99% sure that it's causing messages to appear as Read even when I'm away from my computer. Perhaps this is a status issue, since I don't have it set to timeout. In any case, I'd like to disable Read Receipts on the Mac, but I don't see it in Preferences or other menus. Where could it be?
I guess the solution would be to uninstall Messages beta and reinstall it. But I bet there's a hidden pref somewhere.

It is strange as I don't remember the setting on Read Receipts during the set up process.
As I launched it it just asked for an Apple ID.

Turning off "Read Receipt" response for EIC email

Hi,
We would like to turn off the email "Read Receipt" indicator to the sender that the receiver had read an email. None of the settings on the EIC Email profile do this. Can anyone advise if there is another setting and where it is?

My guess is your getting an automatic response from the receiving server and then one from the email client when the message is read.
You could also be getting a receipt from their phone and desktop mail clients.

You're on the right track, it's Messages > Preferences, then Accounts > [your iMessage account]. Then there should be a check box for Send read receipts.

It's up to the cellular carrier, but I believe most (if not all) will enqueue the messages when your iPhone is off.
So generally speaking, a few minutes after you turn your iPhone on, your messages should display. Similarly, your voicemails would arrive.

Cannot turn off delivery receipts.

I turned on delivery receipts, accomplished my purpose, but cannot get them turned off. I unchecked the appropriate box Options/Mail/Tracking

If you don't want to receive these read receipts, you can create a transport rule to delete them. Here is the transport rule for your reference:
Apply this rule if the message type is Read receipt.
Do the following...Delete the message without notifying the recipient or sender.

Message Mapping - Turn Off dtd validation

I would like to know how to turn off dtd validation in a message map.
The source message type is based on dtd. When testing, I get the following error
java.io.IOException: Failed to load resource from the context classloader of the current thread! Loading from classloader was caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: D:\usr\sap\XYZ\DVEBMGS01\j2ee\cluster\server0\abc.dtd (The system cannot find the file specified)
I understand that the map requires the dtd to be present in the application folder. But, can I change some setting not to look up this file.

Sorry Arvind. Not able to understand your question.
The problem we are facing is, when the input xml file contains DocType declaration with reference to a dtd, we get an error stating the dtd is not found in the j2ee application folder.
It works fine if the dtd is saved in the location. Also, it works fine if the DocType declaration is removed from the xml file. However, we are exploring an option where declaration is used but dtd is not available.
Is there any way to achieve this?

After updating my iPhone 4 to IOS 7, I get the message to "Turn off Find My iPhone" but I can't get to that option on my phone. Any suggestions

I updated my wife's iPhone 4 to IOS 7. While trying to setup the new installation, I get the message " Find My iPhone must be turned off before Phone can be restored. Go to iCloud Setting on your iPhone and turn off Find My iPhone before restoring your iPhone". The problem is that that option is not available on the phone at this stage of the set up.
Any suggestions?

I tried that but I still got the message "Unable to verify account information." I saved it anyway and when I go to the Exchange email account it says "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed." I am trying to pull up personal e-mail but I am getting an error message to turn off "private browsing" in settings-safari-private browsing. The problem is my Safari doesn't give me that option. What now?

I am receiving a message when going to a web site to turn off private browsing but Safari doesn't provide me the option to turn this off. As a matter of fact it doesn't show the option at all. Anyone know how to remedy this?

Tap the blue + sign in the upper right corner of the Safari toolbar to open a new tab. Then look in the lower left portion of the screen for the word "Private". Tap that to turn off private browsing.

Standby mode message whenI turn off TV

What does it mean that when I turn off my TV ( and STB ) a message flashes quickly that ' the STB is in standby mode, press MENU to watch FIOS TV'. Why does it do that? How do I stop it from doing that? I did recently get the 1.62 upgrade if that matters. Is getting this message a bad thing? Do I have something set up wrong? Thanks.

I beg to differ about thisbeing a silly message. I have two TV's and STB. On both, there are occasions where, when powering down, the STP shuts down but not the TV. Formerly, I would not know this until the next day when I powered up the STB (and, as often as not, turned off the TV at the same time). In addition to the power wasted by leaving the TV on all night, it would frustrate members of my family who were trying to view the TV. Now, they are told immediately that the TV is still on, and they can take the neccessary corrective action. For us, this is far from a silly message, it is a solution to a problem that has plagued us since we got FIOS (and n Cablevision before that).

Anyone able to advise what this message means when I turn off my handset?
