Messages does not show my sent comments

I was having trouble with Messages. Every time I received or sent a message, the message would appear for a moment and then disappear. I deleted my cloud data and re-signed-in hoping this would fix the issue. In a way, it did, but only partially. I now see all incoming messages, and they stay, but my outgoing messages disappear. My conversations look very one sided when I go back to review them.
What can I try next to fix this issue?

I would try two things.
In Messages > Preferences > Viewing change the background colour and then the Font (you can't change the Font without changing the background (balloon) colour.
In the Accounts part of the Preferences and in the iMessages account change the Start Conversations From to the opposite of what it is now (Either Apple ID or iPhone Number)
If you were not already make each device the same.

Using iPhone 4S with iOS8. When I touch Details in a message, it does not show the Add Contact, and does not allow to change the name of a group.
Is this down to it being on the 4S?

iChat and Messages can Display the pics that are in the Contacts/Address book list.
If you have Chat window is open in iChat then the View Menu Show Buddy Pics is the first port of call.
For Messages and iChat the next is the View Menu > Messages > Show Buddy Pics and Names.
The Show Pics and Names items also works for Buddy list in either app.
For AIM Buddies this will tend to be the On Line broadcast pic of the moment.
It can the pic in the Card in the Contacts List (Or Address Book)
In the case of your Own Pic this in fact can have been called from System Preferences > User and Groups (formerly Accounts) .
All of them can be changed individually, so for yourself in the Mac Account pic, the Contacts > My Card and Messages Buddy Pic can have different pics set to them.
I don't have a Facebook Account so I can't say if the Contact's pulling of Pics is what is causing them not to show in Messages.
I suspect the general option to display them is not On.

Load earlier messages does not show

Yesterday my option to load earlier text messages does not appear on some of my contacts. I tried turning off the phone but that did not help. Any suggestions?

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

Sent messages do not show in "sent messages" on slow connections

I am temporarily on a very slow internet connection. It sometimes takes several tries to sent an email over the connection provided by the hospital I am currently in. Frequently sending times out and I have to restart the try.
Some of the emails sent do not show up under sent messages, so I do not have any carbon copy on my side, which is sometimes dangereous as there are some company mails.
Mail is using an IMAP account at Hosteurope, so the question is - is there a timeout proble with IMAP resulting in emails not copied to the sent messages box after retried sends?

I have had many instances when sending messages (usually replies to messages in my Inbox) where they appear in the Mail Activity box and then following the "sent" sound, fail to appear in the Sent mailbox. When clicking on the Reply arrow I get the message "Mail was unable to find your response to the message “Re: Test”. You may have deleted the message." I have tried sending test messages and they seem to work OK. However over the last two days at least three replies to messages have disappeared in this way. The messages do not appear in my MobileMe sent box either. Using my non MobileMe address seems to work OK with the message appearing in the Sent Mailbox. Any ideas?

From reports on this site, Yahoo mail doesn't work reliably with Mail. The following steps may help.
Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Pop-up message does not show up on the second instant

I have a script for a DDL on exit below. If the value of an item starts with 135, a message show up.
I have the DDL in a repeating instant. Script work for the first instant but not for the second!
What I am doing wrong? CC is the Drpo down list.

You need to reference the instance specifically in order for the script to work on repeating instances.
I'm not sure about the exact layout of your form, subforms and elements, but this script works if "All_A" is the repeating subform (just change the parent.instanceIndex reference to whichever element is the repeating one)

Spotlight sees comments created in =10.5 but does not show them in Comments

*A most serious and perplexing situation*: Upon updating to 10.6 my huge number of file comments created in the Comments field in 10.5 and earlier OS X versions are reliably detected/indexed by Spotlight 10.6 but are _not displayed_ in its Comments field!?!
Reindexing, an obvious solution step, has not solved the problem. I have also run TechTool Pro 5.0.6 and DiskWarrior 4.2 (though both off the startup disk), to no avail.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to a utility that could make the comments reappear in Comments?
Or is there at the very least a utility that should give one a view of the pre-existing metadata (wherever it may be stored?!#!) so that one can copy or retype it into the (10.6) Comments field??

I'm not sure. spotlight comments are tricky animals. they are stored in several places: in the extended attributes of the file, in .DS_store of the folder containing it and in the spotlight index. I think one of the first two locations is corrupted somehow. also, the fact that you are moving from older OS X versions complicates matters. AFAIK, the system for storing them changed from Tiger to leopard.

select a few files/folders that are giving you trouble with spotlight comments in finder and press "run" in applescript editor. then see if the spotlight comments for those files got fixed.

IPAD email message does not show in message part of email will only show when you hit the reply button, portion of message shows in thread only

I can not view email message in the message frame, this is new, email always worked until yesterday . A portion of the message shows in thread column, but blank space shows in email column. How do I remedy this? I can only read my email when I go to the forward/reply button.

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Print & Preview of iBook does not show titles and comments.

iphoto used is 6.0.6 (322) I Don't know if this is a 10.4.11 or 10.4.4 problem.
problem: iBook prints contain pictures but not title or comments using Epson C60 or HP 1530 printers. Titles and comments are not visible in "preview" but picture is ok. Mac used is an intel Core Duo with system 10.4.4.
However, prints are ok, i.e., have title, comment, picture using the same HP 1530 or an Epson Stylus Photo 1250 on a Pwr PC G4 with system 10.4.11.
The Intel is the preferred unit.

Everytime I send an email on my iphone using my gmail account the sent message does not show up on my macbook pro mail program. How do I syncronize all my email accounts.

Make sure you have the Find My Iphone app installed on your iPhone and that you are signed in on the app with the same Apple ID that you are on your other devices.

APEX does not show 'Process Success Message'

I was hoping to get help on a weird APEX issue.
I have two identical APEX pages with the same templates. One of the page does not show the process success message after it inserts to the database. It does insert, just the message does not show up.
I looked at the page that works and it is identical to this page. Does anyone have any good advice? I would really appreciate it.

When I see this, it usually turns out that I forgot to tick the check box for "include process success message" on a "Branch" object.

When I do a search, the file comes up under the new name, but it does not show a path, and even though preview shows the contents, I can't open the document (Powerpoint) and I can't move the document. I tried "Copy" and paste but it doesn't work. I tried "Share" with Airdrop and iChat, but the file is inaccessible. When i try to rename the file, it says the filename is too long.
When I try to open it, it says the alias is not good, and asks if I want to fix the alias. I'm afraid to do that and lose all access to this document.
Right now, it feels like a ghost document - it is on the computer intact, but it is in an undisclosed location and inaccessible.
Please help!!

I was able to resolve this by repairing permissions, even though no permissions error was listed specifically for that file.
I could also have recovered it through Time Machine, but I'm interested in knowing how not to have this happen again!
I was afraid of rebooting and possibly losing track even of the ghost.
I did not try EasyFind - I'll keep that in mind next time.
