Messages from 1969? Can't delete!

There are several messages in my inbox they have no subject, they are dated dec 31 1969 and I cant delete them.  These do not show up on my phone or main pc. Has anyone else had this issue? Or know how to fix?

Reset your iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears- ignore the red slider - let the iPad restart.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

  • How can I take off my messages from my iPhone without deleting them

I want to take off my messages from my iPhone 4, but I don't want to delete them.  Is there a way to take them off and save them somewhere.

You can do it, but you need another library signed in to iTunes match. That second library shouldn't have any local files stored.
Delete the entry from that second library and it will ask you to confirm that you want to remove the file from the cloud. Confirm that you do.
Now, as long as you don't delete the file from your main library it will have an iCloud status of "removed" and won't be in the cloud or try add it again.
However, if you sign out of match on that computer and then sign in again it will then re-add it to the cloud, so this isn't a method to use if you tend to turn match on and off much.
I have had the Beatles Mono albums in my main library, but not in the cloud, for a while now without any problems.

  • Junk left over from Lion - can I delete it?

Having reverted from Lion 10.7 to SL 10.6.8, I find some folders that I think are Lion specific (I know, I did it the wrong way; I should have wiped the disc before cloning back...but its too late now as I already updated a load of stuff, then re-cloned my source to update it before I noticed this stuff).
Can anyone tell me which of these I can safely delete? I'm assuming I definitely don't need DocumentRevisions-P100, not sure about the Spotlight-P100. I s that Lion specific Spotlight file? I don't think 10.6.8 supports mobilebackups either, and have not idea what .hotfiles.btree is.
    Any help much appreciated.

You are seeing a number of files/folders, the dimmed ones, that normally should be invisible. You DO NOT want to delete them. I'm seeing mostly 10.6 ones; there may be one or two that are Lion specific. I don't know Lion, but if they aren't doing any harm, just make them all invisible and forget about them.
Open the terminal and type or copy/paste:
    To make visible.
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool true
Reverting to the default of NOT showing hidden files ( use this one):
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool false
Restart or Force Quit Finder required to take effect.
    killall Finder

  • Restoring messages from backup-can "add" to mail but can't "add" to .Mac

    Hello!
I posted this post in the .Mac email forum, but a fellow user suggested putting it here too, since it does seem to be a leopard-mail problem. Any help is very much appreciated.
I had some problems on my MacBook (2.2 Ghz, 10.5.2, everything up to date), and ended up having my mail database go absolutely nuts - which was made worse when I accidentally forwarded my .Mac account to my IMAP Gmail account, so messages were being randomly duplicated between the servers. Furthermore, if I tried to delete an email, it would disappear from one, only to re-appear twice over as it was forwarded back and forth. (Sheesh!)
In any case, I ended up turning off forwarding in all accounts, then deleting everything in .Mac, via the web interface, since the mess was too much to deal with. I then copied my Mail folder (User>Library>Mail) from my old G4 to my MacBook Pro, since it had been synced JUST before the glitch. The G4 is running Tiger, and Mail in Leopard wouln't import the messages via the File>Import menu option. So, I replaced the Leopard mail folder - replaced the folder from the MBP with the one from the G4 - and it imported the messages. (It went through the "Welcome to the new OS X Mail, let's update your library" screen).
Here's the problem: if I simply click "Get mail" after "importing" the old G4 mail folder, all messages will automatically erase themselves since it's syncing with .Mac. I thought "sync" meant "merge", not overwrite! (It certainly did in the past). Should I make an "on my mac" folder to store a copy of the messages while it "syncs", I can copy them into the .Mac inbox - and it will send them to the .Mac server. Even so, the next time I click "get messages", they will disappear - even from the "on my mac" folder!
Can I get the messages back onto .Mac? How?

The format of the disk is a Mac format. but that is irrelevant in a NAS device, as long as it offers SMB.. ie windows file network format.. you don't have to worry in the least how the files are stored on the drive.
But you cannot partition a TC.. it is as it is..
I have some iOS devices in addition including an AppleTV. Could this TC serve them as well as the Windows XP Pro PCs without having a Mac in my inventory ? (No time Machine.)
What are you expecting to serve to the iOS devices.. they are completely dumb.. they don't even know what the file system is without an APP.. and there is no Apple Format apps only SMB.. which is kind of interesting.
They are designed to work with iTunes.. but the TC is not an iTunes server strangely as lots of non-Apple products manage to make their NAS into ITunes servers. You can place the iTunes library on the TC but we don't recommend it due to the TC having no automated way to back itself up.. again unlike every other NAS out there. You can manually backup the TC via the USB.. it is slow and can only backup the whole disk.. even if you backed up the whole disk yesterday.. it has no ability to do incremental rsync or any other intelligent backup.

Got it. Read this and see if this is something that you want to try. I've recommended this before and it does seem to work.

  • Sending a message from PXI CAN Series 2 to device interface

Is it possible to send a CAN message to a device interface? What VIs should be use? I need to send a single message ("x92") to a device interface in order to enable its function.
    Thanks!

Great! That worked smoothly! Thanks DirkW
We now have this VI that sends a message to enable a sensor and then starts reading raw data. We understand this data is CAN frames which now we need to convert to channel in order to get scaled values. We tried "CAN Frame to Channel vs 2_2_2" from NI but it needs some cRIO parameters that we don't have. We also looked at the "CANConversionLibrary" but nothing that applies to our case.
How could we process the "Data" shown in the last column of the attached VI?
    Thanks!

  • General settings usage states 1.3 g stored messages. How can I delete stored messages?

I have deleted all messages but it continues to say 1.3 g stored messages

Firstly you DO NOT have to do a factory reset / wipe device, it is simply not required to get the space back!!
Mine had 3GB and I just got rid of it all, here is how:
    Make a backup in iTunes
    open iBackupBot (Google it)
    Go to the relevant backup
Click on Multimedia File Manager and click on the other Multimedia files tab
Sort by filename by clicking the Filename tab
Find MediaDomain/Library/SMS/Attachments and highlight all of them, then press delete.  You can also click to export to a folder of your choice, if you want to save them that is.
    Then go to System Files>MediaDomain>Library>SMS>Attachments
They will be all listed here, highlight them all and press delete
Then just restore that backup using iTunes!
Tadaa! Space recovered, your messages are still there but without the attachments!
P.S You may want to make two backups in case you get any of the above steps wrong, but it is simple to follow the above and not do anything wrong!
P.P.S You could also just go through every single conversation and delete the attachments one by one, but if you have hundreds or thousands of attachments, this will take a VERY LONG TIME!!!

  • How can i delete messages that are saved on imessage

Hi. I have an iPhone 5s (16gb). I have no storage left on my phone and for some reason whenever I try to send someone who has and who doesn't have an iPhone a message through iMessage, my message send but i don't receive any messages. When I click send my message goes through but it still says sending on the top. I tried restarting my phone and backing it up but the problem is not not resolved.  I was looking at my settings the other day and realized the my 'saved' messages on iMessages take up 11.0gb. I found this out by clicking settings -> general -> usage. I figured maybe this might be the problem because I have no storage left due to my messages. How can I delete these 'saved' messages so i can have enough storage to update my phone (my phone hasn't been updated since 6/2014)? Another issue I'm having due to my lack of updating my phone is that my camera roll application always crashes on me and is constantly restoring my photos. It attempts to restore but it then says I have 0 photos. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello Brian,
Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing.  It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone.
I found the steps to delete a song from your iPhone on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide ( http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf ):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • How can I get rec'd text messages from the same subscriber not be appended

    Hi,
Is there a way to configure the Apple iphone so that text messages from the same subscriber are displayed separately rather than appended to each other? In this way accidentally deleting one message wouldn't delete the entire history of messages from this subscriber.
When I launch the SMS service by pressing the green SMS button I am met by a screen that says Text Messages. On the left of this there is a button that says Edit and on the right there is one that is for writing a new message. Down the page are my messages all grouped by the originator of each messages. If I choose one I see that all messages from this source are present appended one after the other. There is also the option now to Clear on the top right hand corner. It is this Clear option I am worried about. If I choose Clear I am asked for a confirmation and then lo and behold as expected all my messages from this subscriber are deleted.
This is a work phone for support purposes and most of the texts will be from the telephone operator (i.e. the one same number) saying we have an email waiting to be read with a subject title giving a little description. I want to be in a position so that I don't accidentally delete the entire history of messages, say some evening when I'm tired or Monday morning if I 'm a bit asleep. Ideally I would prefer that each text message would stand alone in the Text Messages window irrespective of the originator and not be appended in a group fashion. Is there a way to do this?
    Kind regards,
    M

There is no way to do that on the iPhone. Messages will always be grouped into a 'conversation' based on the sender/recipient. Only Apple can change that behavior.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • How do i delete all messages from my email?

I had a server problem over the weekend and all of my email messages that i got from day #1 are reloading as new, unread mail. How can i delete them all(thousands). I'm using outlook and have not been able to sync my Inbox. Contacts and all else is fine.???

Check your account settings with Outlook for removing or deleting messages from the server when downloaded by Outlook.
The iPhone's email client includes the same settings, as do all email clients for a POP account.
I would handle this with Outlook. Delete and recreate the account with Outlook, and before checking the account for new message with Outlook, select remove or deleted messages from the server when downloaded for the account preferences with Outlook.
All messages available on the server will be downloaded again by Outlook, and removed from the server when doing so. You can mass delete all messages from Outlook.
When deleting and recreating the account with the iPhone's Mail client, none of these messages will be downloaded by the iPhone's Mail client after being removed from the server when downloaded by Outlook.
Or since you likely have webmail access for this account using a browser, you can mass delete all messages available on the server via webmail access. After deleting the messages from the server, delete and recreate the account with the iPhone's Mail client.
An IMAP account is much easier in this regard, which is designed to be accessed with multiple email clients on different computers or devices.
A POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client on one computer or device.
