Messages from blocked users

I have a, let's just say horrible person as a contact on skype. I've blocked him and he has blocked me, however he continues to spam me to this moment through a group chat. I agree with what others have said. Why is he still able to contact me?

Blocking a person does not apply to group chats. If you block him, then he is not able to send 1-to-1 chat messages to you, but can still send messages to the group chat.

    Hello.
I'd like to ask the reason: I've blocked a person. But we're in a group chat and even if he's blocked, I still can see his messages and he can see the mine in the group. Why? What can I do?
    Thanks, L.

^ This.  This is what happens when a person wants to spam you. This is what happens when you block someone, and they still know how to add you to a group. And once you're added to that group, they can spam you from that group. This is what happens when Skype doesn't block incoming messages from blocked users in groups.
... There's more, by the way. It's not as short as that. I've got months worth of logs of this, spamming me from different groups, and endlessly just creating new groups and adding me and messaging me then disbanding only to create anew. My "Recent" tab doesn't work anymore, as there's constant harrassment, and as much as I "block", the spam continues in groups. Well #@^& done, Skype; it's like "Blocked" doesn't even exist. I would seriously like to see a change or two to the application's Group functions to stop people like this. Each of them has been warned that police will soon be involved for harrassment, but it doesn't seem Skype wants to make a change to stop it...

  • Picture messages from android user

Several times I have received a picture message from an andriod user saying:
<Share image via GO SMS> then a link
after trying to open the link, it doesn't work. I've googled and googled trying to figure out why I am unable to open this message, or why they are coming in as links instead of pictures, but I cannot find any answers.
Anyone know the answer to this?

  • LG Revolution not receiving text messages from iphone user

I am not receiving text messages from iphone user, sporatically.  The messages are showing as reveived on Verizon website in usage detail, but not being received on my phone.

This issue needs fixed asap! I have a few suggestions that should help you get this resolved. If they are showing up in the usage details, that means they are hitting the Verizon network, but for some reason they are not showing up on the phone.   I recommend clearing the cache from your messaging/text messaging programs. Go to settings> applications> manage apps> all> Messaging/Text Messaging> Force Stop/Clear Cache/Clear Data. Erase the old text threads that you have saved and retry.
If that doesn't work, please let us know the following:
    1) Do they come in delayed or not at all?
    2) Do you have any 3rd party messaging apps installed?
    3) Do they have any problems receiving messages from you?
    4) When they're sending messages, are they directly to you, or do you have this problem when the iPhone user sends to a group of people?
Thanks for the additional info! I'm sure we can find a fix.

  • I am having some trouble with receiving messages from iMessage users when I don't have my iMessage turned on. When I called for support, I spent 30 min waiting and the woman's response to me was "Turn on your iMessage." I prefer not to use it

I have an iPhone 5s and a MacBook Pro. Ever since I updated my computer software to Yosemite, it linked my Apple ID with my phone number and I am not receiving messages from iMessage users on my phone, but rather to my computer. I don't like to use iMessage so I keep it off and would like to receive all messages as SMS texts. I have already tried changing my Apple ID password, logging off of my Apple ID in iMessage on my phone and turning it off, and changing settings on messages on my computer. Nothing is working. Either the messages continue to go to my computer or the messages trying to be sent say they cannot be sent.
After spending 30 + minutes waiting for technical support, the woman helping me (who did not give me her name) told me I should just turn on iMessage. After explaining that I don't like having iMessage on and asking why it worked for at least a year up until this point she said "things change and sometimes we don't know why things do what they do". She asked me about various other things on my phone such as bluetooth and told me to turn on and off airplane mode and the call disconnected. I have not been contacted since, even though she has my phone number.
I am hoping for some help and also hoping people don't get the type of service I received tonight.

I think you can solve your problems by removing your AppleID email address from BOTH the Messages setting on your iPhone and the iMessages settings on your Mac.
    On iPhone:
    Settings > Messages > iMessage > Dissabled
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > touch the "(i)" < touch "Remove This Email"
    On Mac:
    Open "Messages" application
    Click "Messages menu > Preferences
    Click "Accounts"
    Select your AppleID account
Under the "You can be reached for messages at" settings, uncheck your AppleID email address and your phone number
Then uncheck the "Enable this account" setting
And lastly, ask all of your friends with iPhones to delete all iMessage conversations (blue bubbles) in their entirety.
To test, send a friend a new text using their phone number (not their email address) and watch the color of the bubble.  If it's green then you are using SMS.

  • Still can't receive messages from Iphone Users

    Greetings,
I know there are many topics asking similar questions if it's googled, and I think I have read through almost all of them to no prevail. I know veterans of these boards probably get tired of seeing the same topics, but im desperate and will try to keep it quick. I really appreciate any help.
I recently upgraded from a 4S to a Galaxy S5 and have not been able to receive messages from Iphone users since. I still have my old Iphone. Here are the steps I've tried:
    1) Ensure "IMessage" is disabled in my old phone
    2) Unregistered my phone number with my Apple ID. I currently have no phone numbers registered with them
    3) Changed my Apple ID Password
    4) Unregistered my Iphone with my ITunes Account.
    5) I also have a Macbook Air and a 2010 model IMac. I have also ensured I am signed out on those devices and my phone number isn't linked in anyway I could find.
    6) I called Apple 3 Days ago and the representitive was very nice and professional but ultimately was incorrect. He advised me that the new IoS7 is more advanced and should check about every 12 hours to see if the user on the other end has an active IMessage account. He said to wait 24 hours just to be safe. He also advised people running older IOS systems could take up to 3-4 days to contact me correctly. Furthermore he said if after that time frame their phones still sent me IMessages instead of SMS then THEY were having problems and should call Apple. I just really doubt that is the case.
I have tested it out with 5 Iphones now with help from some friends, all running IOS7 and still no luck 3 days after the phone call to Apple.
    7) I tried logging back into IMessage today on my Macbook and it worked, I was still able to send and receive texts from Iphone users. This seems like it should not be possible since it is not linked to my phone number anymore. It is logged into the same Email that I used to have linked to my phone number.
Now as others have said, If I have them hold down the bubble and send as text message 3 times their phone will remember and keep sending my texts, however that is unreasonable to ask everyone to do. There should just be a way to completely delete your Apple ID. Is there anything I'm possibly overlooking? I really appreciate any help.

I am right there with you. This describes my problem to a T. Only other issue I am having is group texts. Iphone users who include me in a group text still send as imessages as well, so even if I text them first and they reply, it send as an imessage. Get it together apple.

  • Having trouble moving mail messages from one user to another

I am trying to move mail messages from one user to another on my Macbook, and I cannot seem to do it. I've tried archive, but I don't think I'm doing it right. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

I had to go to the Mac store to get the answer to this one... i was archiving correctly, but you need to save the mbox files to your desktop, then move them to the shared folder, that way all users have access. I also had to edit the permissions on the files, as the user i wanted to have the emails didn't have permission to even look at the files.

  • Switched to Samsung GS5 2 months ago, still not receiving messages from iphone users

I switched to a non iphone over two months ago and ever since then I cannot receive messages from iphone users sending in imessage format. They have to turn imessage on and off to be able to text me. This has been extremely inconvenient since I need to receive these messages for work in addition to my personal life. I have tried multiple suggestions I've read about, still nothing works. It's like this is apple's way of keeping customers using their iphone instead of switching for fear of not receiving messages. They won't really fix it either when we all know technology is advanced enough to fix this. HELP.
