Messages going to wrong person

When I send a message to a person, it goes to them another person that I did not intend?
Then when either person replies to me it goes to the 3 of us.
The person I am sending to is on AT&T I am on verizon.
Is anyone else having a similar problem?
When I use text free all is fine, iMessages is the problem.

This just started happening to me too. Me, my wife and daughter all share an apple id but have different iCloud accounts. This week we were all prompted with messages on the phone regarding messaging and FaceTime and associating the other phone numbers and emails. I said no, they just clicked ok. Now anyone who sends me a text, it also goes to my wife and daughters phones. I went into settings-messaging-send and receive on their phones and saw all numbers and emails checked. Unchecked those and it stopped. Until today when it happened again and they're all checked again. Agggghhhjh! My friends don't all have the cleanest mouths, this is not the best thing apple has done. I'm guessing we may all have to get our own apple Ids but then that screws up app and music sharing. Maybe this is what is happening to you or whoever you texted, perhaps they share an apple id.

Text messages going to wrong person

This issue has been reported for quite a while and is still occurring yet I do not see that Verizon is acknowledging it. I have also seen where it might actually be an Android O/S issue but it still needs to be addressed by Verizon.
My personal experience is that at random a reply to a message on a current string will go the person whom I had a prior message string, which I might add had been deleted. It happened only an hour ago so I know the issue has not been solved.
Other than being embarrassing it could also open significant liability to myself as well as Verizon. I use my phone for business and I could easily lose customers and business deals through this problem as well as potential legal suits if confidential information ended up with competitors of my clients through this flaw..
Is a law suite required to have this issue acknowledged and fixed?

Yes I think it will take a lawsuit which will probably come pretty soon since this is a HUGE privacy issue.

I have been experiencing this issue for the last few weeks and it is extremely annoying. I've called Verizon 7 times and have gotten nothing but the run around. What's even more annoying is hearing them say there will be a software coming out to correct the problem but they don't know when. I'm very disappointed in Verizon. I've been with them for many years. They were my first and only carrier. I will definitely not be taking this lying down. I'm going to get a resolution, and if that means leaving Verizon, then so be it. And if anyone from Verizon is reading this, PLEASE DO NOT offer up another apology. I don't want another apology, I want this issue to be corrected, NOW!!

Droid Bionic text messages going to wrong people

I have had my Droid Bionic for several months now. It is not rooted and I don't download tons of apps on my phone. I don't use netflix to watch movies or download music. The apps I have are mainly to help me with work. So I'm not app happy just downloading things non stop. This is why I'm confused and irritated. My Bionic has started sending text messages to the wrong people! I had this issue with my Droid X which is why I switched to the Bionic, hoping that after all these years of making smart phones motorola, google and verizon would put a phone out there that actually works like it's supposed to. How much practice do these phone companies need to get their OS right? I don't mind paying a lot of money for something that will make my life a little easier but I get very irritated paying a lot of money for something that doesn't work the way it's supposed to...and at the most inappropriate times. The Bionic has gone from helping to adding to my daily hassles. Is anyone else having issues with text messages going to the wrong people on their Bionics? Have you found a way to fix it? I'm also getting error messages that just started about a week ago...com.motorola.main.service has stopped and then a option to forceclose. The tech support person at Verizon sounded like he had never seen a smart phone before and gave me the Verizon standard technical reply..."do a factory reset". I should not have to reset anything on a NEW Phone! Why don't you fix these problems Google, Motorola and Verizon and in a timely manner?! I know for a fact if I didn't pay for my phone as promised or pay my bill as promised I would suffer the consequences immediately! You cell phone companies are all about getting your money and leaving us customers out here hanging and irritated. If you think my feelings are misguided then feel free to prove me wrong. Incoming messages going to wrong folder

I have no rules set for mail and I have messages that should be in my inbox automatically showing up in another folder. I think I previously had a rule set but have deleted all of my rules and the problem persists. Does anyone know of other settings I need to check?

quit Mail go to the folder home directory/library/mail and delete the files MessageRules.plist and
MessageRules.plist.backup
start Mail and it ought to behave now.

Entourage (Exchange) Account Problem - New messages going to wrong Inbox

In Entourage, there are two sets of Inboxes (folders): one for the Exchange account and the other for "Folders on My Computer"
We desire new messages to deliver & stay in the Inbox for the Exchange account; however, recently new mail messages are delivered to the Inbox under "Folders on My Computer." How can I change this... manage which Inbox new mail messages go to for the Exchange account?

Midi configuration... messages going to wrong tracks?

I recently removed my M-Audio ProjectMix, and replaced it with a MidiSport 2x2 for MIDI and an Apogee Duet for audio. I am now having an issue with MIDI messages, and can’t seem to find the problem.
Here’s the detail:
I have a simple six track song with the first four tracks setup to use MIDI channels 1-4 respectively, to trigger the built-in sound module of a Roland XP-30 keyboard. The last two tracks are Logic instrument tracks, which use MIDI channels 5 & 6 and take input from the keyboard.
The problem is that the Logic instruments are getting the MIDI data from the other tracks, without playing a note on the keyboard.
The setup is rather simple… the Roland XP-30 (MIDI connected via the MidiSport 2x2/audio connected via the Duet), and the Duet and MidiSport connected to a G5 PowerMac using Logic 8 on OS X 10.5.4
Audio Midi Setup looks right (not much to that with such a simple setup), and the Logic environment looks right.
The song worked fine with the ProjectMix… what am I missing?

Not sure, but what this sounds like to me is... you are looping midi thru the keyboard and back to logic.
You are recieving midi from Logic to the keyboard, and sending midi from the keyboard to Logic. Many keyboards allow you to switch it's midi out from "out" to "thru" if it is set to thru, everything sent to it, is send thru the output. if it is switched to out, only what is played from the keyboard is sent out. Have you tried to set the keyboards midi output to be out instead of thru?

IMessage going to wrong person

When using iMessage, if I start a conversation with my friend who is on her iPad2 (thesame as I am), sometimes the messages don't go to her, but to her son on his iPhone 3GS.
It shows up as a continuing chat to my friend and if her son replies it again shows up as my friend.
Can anyone tell me why this would be happening and even more importantly how to stop it as I don't know who will receive my messages!

I think this is consider a imessage bug. It should not be like that. What happen, there is 2 address in the message setting. First for phone number, second for Apple ID which is not suppose mandatory. Apple only resolve 1 situation which is for wifi user without cellular signal to receive the message. What happen then is all Iphone or Ipad - sync with the same Apple ID will receive the same message(SMS/MMS). The message will go to Iphone/Ipad :-
1. Being repair but still can receive wifi
2. Other older iphone/ipad but still can receive wifi.
- sold to someone
- give to any family member
3. Stolen

My girls were yelled at when FaceTime called wrong person

Face Time called someone else... Idk how or what happened.. I(mommy) uwas at work and getting ready to go home when my girls facetimed me.. I told them I was driving home so i'll see them soon, of course being 7 n 6, they facetimed me three more times waiting til I answered said love you and hung up.. Whatever.. So I see it ring once and then stop.. Ok??? So I try them and dad picks up screaming at me because some jerk just threatened them for accidentally getting the wrong person.. They are in tears, super upset.. Where's mom? Why can't our call go thru to mom? Who is this mean guy? And as freaked out as they were, I feel awful.. Dad tried face timing my number from his other ipad and it went to the guy.. And he yelled at him, asking if he realized he just threatened two little girls, who thought the cops were gonna really come and arrest them. :-(
so any suggestions on what else I can do to try to prevent this from happening again??
Obviously going through all accounts to double check they have the right info, explaining to the girls what happened, but can't obviously do anything about the jerk, so .. What now? :-(

Sending text messages to the wrong recipient

Until OS 4.0 I had sent maybe a handful of texts to the wrong person. No biggie. Totally my fault. Then OS 4 brought a change in the way your phone loads the MMS app when a at least one text is ignored from2 or more different phone numbers. Prior to OS 4 when you unlocked your phone after ignoring a text for each of at least two different phone numbers your phone by default would open the conversation from the most recent text message recieved. It was predictable. Then you could selectively choose who you would respond to. It always defaulted to the most recent text received.
After OS 4 when the aforementioned scenario takes place the iPhone now randomly chooses one of the conversations of one of the texts that has been ignored. Since this change i have sent the wrong message to the person dozens of times. This is an aweful update and makes not logical sense. Is there a way to vhange this back to the previous method or if I get enough people to submit requests can this pleaze be changed back. Every single person I personally know running OS 4 hates this feature and wishes for the old way bafk. Please listen Apple!!

I agree. This was a really bad move by Apple. Having a text conversation with someone and your SMS goes to the wrong recipient is a really, really irritating feature of iOS 4

Mail sending email to wrong person

I am using MacMail 2.1 and have had 2 instances where it has automatically sent very private emails to the very wrong person. I have looked back in my sent history and the only adress that appears is the adress I intended to send the email to and yet, in both instances, somehow the email ended up in an unintended persons inbox. It is also important to note that it was sent to the same person both times, and this person was someone that I used to send very regular emails to(1 or more a day) but no longer do.
I have absolutely no idea why this is happening but really need to figure out how to fix it.

If it looks lke a forwarded message, it probably is, and then would have nothing to do with mail. If you can access the email that went to the wrong person's inbox, look at the long headers for that email to identify the sender. One possibility - (I'm assuming that the email went to the correct address and the wrong address) if the correct address is a PC user they may have a virus that wold account for the forwarding. Again, looking at the header of the mail after it arrived at the wrong destination would be helpful.

Why do my contact photos keep getting assigned to the wrong person/number?

This has happened to me twice recently: my phone rings and the wrong contact photo appears with the wrong phone number. All my contact photos are assigned to the wrong person/phone number. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks!

Can I get this straight in my mind? Does this mean that I will have to put ALL the photos stored on my Laptop into ONE large folder, then divide it up into sub-folders? Then I can copy each sub-folder?
Sorry to sound stupid, but most things I try on my ipod don't seem to work for me. I think I am getting a bit old for all this.....lol.
.......Actually thinking back, a while back I did click on my main folder called "Nikon" and that did copy everything in it, but just in one whole lot, ie 1,000 photos.........................so nothing was sub-divided into folders, ie. holiday 2010, holiday 2011. Is that another problem I have created for myself?

Hi, thanks for the answer, I did that already. Unfortunatly this doesn't help me at all, as I often forget to check the menu. For me composing the message is writing the text, the subject, the person to who is addressed and than press "send".
I often forget to check the "from", and this is a problem because the software select itself one of the accounts.
Isn't there a way at least to put as a default a blank field instead of one of the accounts? or an account which doesn't work so if I forget to specify the "from" I will be rnotofied that the message can't be sent.
I guess this could be a rather common problem for many people!
