Messages GUI not starting

So, after yesterday this started on several computers without any explanation. I've submitted a bug to Apple, but they haven't gotten back to me.
Basically, when I open Messages the window displaying the contacts and their messages does not open.
I've attempted to remove all preferences and the messages folder in ~/Library/Messages - but the problem persists.
Here's the error if that helps:

It's also possible it's related to upgrading Xcode to 4.6.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I am not entirely clear on what this pic is supposed to be showing me.
I take it the larger "background" pic is supposed to show more Buddies and Contacts in the space between the two lots of Head and Shoulders icons ?
I am not sure why you seem to have another view in front of that.
It almost seems that you have two Messages Windows but they are not the same size and not identical.
The iMessages Chats have a Database that is held in ~/Library/Messages that has all the "History" of the ongoing chats.
In fact if you close the chat and then converse with the Contact again the "History" will appear again.
Non iMessage chats (Jabber or AIM or Yahoo ) can be Saved on Closing the Chat.
Reconnecting with the Buddy should call the Last Chat up from the Archive folder in ~/Library/Messages.
Your Pic says you are chatting via iMessages but no visible chat seems to be in place so I can't tell if the people on show as Buddies or Contacts.
However lower left there appear to be no Buddy list logged in as they do not show.
There appears to be no scroll bar for "30+ chats"
The lack of icons suggests a poor link with the Contacts app.
In the Contacts App > Preferences > Accounts you should be using either iCloud or On My Mac but not both.

Hi Ganesh,
First place to look is in the SAPMMC Console and see whats the status of the processes specially if they are yellow. Then you can go and check the work directory and check dev_ms for errors in the message server, dev_disp for errors in the dispatcher and dev_w* for errors in the workprocesses. the work directory is located at <drive>:\usr\sap\<sid>\<instance>\work.
If the message server is not starting i will look first at the dev_ms and look for the error.

Sap Installation Messed up (GUI not starting)

Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post... anyway I have a problem with my sap installation.
What happened is that I tried to install Adobe LiveCycle Designer using the SAP front end installer.
I left only the Adobe LiveCycle Designer option checked (Business Explorer and SAP GUI were unchecked): the installation program started to install that software, and then began to uninstall the SAP GUI. When I realized that I stopped the setup program, but the SAP GUI was obviously messed up.
The problem now is that I can't install the SAP GUI again, because the option doesn't show anymore in the setup program.
The feeling is that something is not consistent between the filesystem and the Windows register.
Does anybody experienced the same problem or has an idea on how to solve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Error Message, iMac not starting up

I get this error message, 2STF/14 :s-ATA Bus O Master.
When I start the machine, I get the chime then a blank gray screen. I've tried diskwarrior and whatnot. I'm freaking out. I haven't backed up in quite a while, sadly.

No, it won't overwrite, but I suggest you run Rember to check your RAM. Are all your USB and Firewire ports working correctly?

Error message in sync apple mobile device service not started

when I try to sync ipad to itunes on my computer i get the message "divice not started Apple Mobile Device Service is not started". It has worked in the past but not today! Any help??

There are instructions on this page for starting the AMDS and setting it to start automatically : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 . If that doesn't work then you could try rebooting your PC

"Could not start the linksys updater service" error message

I purchased a WRT160N router and everything worked fine for a while. After a few days, I would lose the wireless connection. I spoke to the geeks at Best Buy, and they said the unit was probably bad, so I exchanged it for a new one.
Before setting up the new one, I figured I'd uninstall the Linksys EasyLink Advisor software in case the new router had a different version. I then started to install the software. But now the installation fails with error message "Could not start the Linksys Updater Service". I tried manually starting it, but it aborts with an error message "The process terminated unexpectedly" .
Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do now?

Well if you are trying to setup your router using the setup disk, you can exit from the setup and configure all the settings on your Router Manually.

Because of warning I received for my iTunes (it would not start up) MSVCR80dill missing, if I remove the program and reinstall will I lose the music I already had and purchased?

I am somewhat computer illiterate but I have a question. I have had iTunes for several years and never had a problem. I occassionally get prompts to update and those only take about a minute and they're done. Last week, the download could not complete even after I had tried 2 or 3 times. I just let it go thinking I would try again when I had more time. Yesterday I tried to access iTunes on my Windows 7 and got a message, " could not start iTunes, MSVCR80 dill is missing. Please reload iTunes to fix the problem. I tried several times but I continue to get the same message without iTunes coming up. I talked to a computer geek today who told me I should go to my control panel and uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. My question. I have placed many albums of music and purchased many songs from the iTunes shop which I am concerned will go missing or deleted if I uninstall and reinstall. Will I lose my library if I do this? What precautions can I take to make sure everything comes back as it was?

Can not start plugs in

Using XI tools http://server:port/index.html
will show "SAP NetWeaver Administrator" click on it and click "monitoring" getting an error messages

This is aa network issue
YOur user dont have admin rights. So kindly ask your admin guy to assign a port in the gatway for your machine then definitly you wil be able to display the page.

Tomcat (3.2.8) service will not start in Windows 2003 Server

We just upgraded one of our servers to Windows 2003 Server. I did change the port in server.xml from 8080 to 8060. When I try to start the tomcat service it fails with an error message:
Could not start the Tomcat service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.
I can however start it with the startup.bat file in tomcat_home\bin
Can anyone help.. was running fine under windows 2000 server

"Could not start Agent" with SunMC 3.6.1 on Red Hat Enterprise release 4

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install the Linux agent from the SunMC 3.6.1 installation dvd on a RedHat system (kernel 2.6). The installation seems to go fine, but while seting up the agent I recieve the following eror:
/opt/SUNWsymon/base/sbin/xget: error while loading shared libraries: libxcfg.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/opt/SUNWsymon/base/sbin/xput: error while loading shared libraries: libxcfg.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Naturally, in the end you get the message "Could not start Agent"...
Has anybody experienced this with a RedHat system or any other Linux system?

I have Oracle Enterprise 9.2.0.1 on Windows 2000 server,
When I'm starting the Agent service I get this message:
"Could not start the OracleOra9201Agent service on local computer.
The service didn't return an error.This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator."
Could you please help me to fix this problem? What I should do??

Are you using DHCP or using static IP address?

I have Sun ONE Developer Platform 1.0 Beta installed on
Windows 2000 Server with SP2.
admin-server never starts from a computer start. It sometimes starts
on a restart.
First error in admin-server log is: "SEVERE (2512): IOP5055: could not
create listener on port [1,071], host [0,0,0,0]
Changing listener iiop-listener port to 10711 (edit server.xml under
admin-server->config) startsup admin-server. I have only tried this a
few times, but it always startsup.
Looking at the server instance in the browser under ORB shows the orb-listener-1
port to be 3700. Is this the same port??
I also had to edit the server.xml file under server1->config to change the
http-listener port to something other than 80 (I used 8088), otherwise
an error of "Port already in use" was given.
The path separators in both server.xml files are a mixture of UNIX and MS
styles, but seem to work. I have edited mine just to be sure!
I see these hacks as just a means for progressing a few more steps. I would
like to know the correct solutions.

was running acrobat 8 standard. downloaded 9 trial--wouldn't work)uninstalled 9 trail had problems with 8 not working and uninstalled 8 (leaving the resource\cemap\identity-h and identity-v files (locked unable to delete). figured full version of 9 from CD would work but after installing 9 and accepting eul i received "Licensing for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling ... " After 2 hours with tech support during which I ran the cs3 cleaner multiple multiple times in multiple configurations we traced the problem to the Flexnet licensing service- it flat will not start I get error message "Could not start the Flexnet Licensing Service service on Local Computer. ERROR -5: Access is denied."
At that point tech support had me run some more cs3 cleaner stuff under another user and ended up with an error 127....
does anyone know how to completely remove the flexnet licensing service and reinstall it cleanly? any help??
