Messages in mac is not working? it used to work a few days ago, now it says non of my contacts has an i message account, any help??
messages in macbook pro is not working, a few days ago it was running just fine, now it claims non of my current contacts have an imessage account and messages cannot be delivered, i did updated the software recently and it asked me to re accpet terms and conditions, i dont know if it has something to do with it, any help??
The iMessage and Facetime servers are down for the day. People have been having issues since this morning. I called Apple myself and they told me to just wait until this evening and try again but warned that could not be fixed until tomorrow.
Wait until then and see what happens. You can always call Apple and get a direct update if you still have issues and think it should be fixed.

I Sugges you to log into your hotmail acc and go to security and password change bit, then you will see two-step verification.. turn that off and you will be able to set it up on your iPhone/iPad or even Mac.

I have a Windows laptop running with Windows 7 (64 bits). i was using itunes normally. Few days ago I upgraded to 10.5.2. When I completed download and install process, itunes opened and got stuck.It says "Updating itunes library". What can I do?

The hub may not be broken per se, but Apple has made adjustments to the limits on current that can be drawn from ports.
You probably need a new hub.

I opened iTunes and the cloud is not syncing up, so i cannot watch movies or tv shows over the cloud through itunes, however it was there a few days ago, now randomly gone.
Are you sure you bought and not rented them? Renting lets you to access the video for up to 48 hours.

Try Settings>General>Siri>Off. Restart the phone then go back and turn Siri on again. It can take a few minutes for Siri to totally activate again.

So a number of my apps (ie., United, ES File Explorer, etc..), which worked a few days ago, are now crashing on start-up or shortly thereafter. Have you recorded this bug and is a fix forthcoming? Anxiously awaiting an update.

Camera not recognized. Was up to a few days ago
I've been using a Canon video camera FV-M10 mini-DV for live video (Skype/iChat) and also for importing video (mini-DV cassette) into Final Cut Express, After Effects or iMovie up until a few days ago. Then all of a sudden (my MacPro) nor any of the software can recognize my camera anymore. I can't recall if this came after the last security up-date from Apple a few days ago. But, I've tried everything. Both Firewire and USB connections using a few different cables. In Skype...(sometimes) it automatically shows the FV-M10 in the camera slot, but the screen is black. No, I checked if I left the cover on. Any ideas? Geez, I'd better check my Sony WS5 digital camera and see if that is recognized. Yes, both pics and AVCHD videos are seen using the Firewire connection. Anyone have any ideas? Please Help! Is this an issue with the new Apple Up-Date?

Most computers with front and back Firewire and indeed USB ports have different controllers for them inside.
A look in the system Preferences should confirm this (Listed as Buses at least)
My USB layout
Often Shutting down the computer with all periferals unplugged (cable wise) and waiting 15 minutes will get the ports and controllers to reset.
It may pay to try this.
Where the App is should not matter in this context. (It does for Updating purposes)
Is this a camera that can play back other media/Devices and convert it in to DV for onward Firewire connection to the computer ?
Sometime they store in one format and can output in another. This allows them to act as DV converters.
This may bear some impact on the settings on the camera.
You said the Computer has 400/800 ports.
Do you mean it has one of each ?
Or do you mean you are using an Adapter and running some devices at 400 and some at 800 ?
It is likely that the camera is neither (System Profiler should tell you)
You seem to be clearly saying nothing has changed from when it worked

Is there any chance the Scratch disk is nearly full and is sending lots of data back and forth to see what it can drop/lose?
Has the app that uses it been shut down recently.
Have you increased the number of Undos that it can do ? (This will store more Scratch data)
Have you stored anything else on that disk that is in use or takes up a large portion of the space ?

I recently replaced the hard disk on my macbook pro. As I had lost my original system disks that came with my mac, I paid an authorised Apple Reseller to reinstall OX 10.6.8 and also they reinstalled the data from my Time Machine back up. However, I have noticed a lot of functions no longer work. I was told by Apple Reseller that they only installed system disk I (operating system), but not system disk II (programme disk), as they do not have that disk. I was advised to use Disk II from any macbook pro with an OS 10.6.8 or higher..... I tried that but it did not work as mac would not read that disk. Can anyone please help me solve this problem?

Or, it the OP's paid technician missed it the first time, he can mount the OS X install DVD on the desktop, open the Optional Installs folder, double click on the Optional Installs .mpkg, and step through the process until arriving at the "Installation Type." There, the OP can check off Rosetta, iPod Support, Qucktime, Printer Support, more fonts, and a bunch of Applications, including Address Book, iCal, iChat, iTunes, Mail, Dictionaries, Safari, and X11 for installation. Both those installs and whatever is on Disk 2 can be installed without starting from scratch.
And while having the original installer DVD's that came with the Mac is the best way to go, the OP can download the 10.6.8 combo updater and run that. Since it's an all purpose updater, it configures itself for the Mac it's run on so, in a sense, it's customization after the fact. If the combo updater is run before Disk 2 is available, it can be run again afterwards. Indeed, I've found that the combo updater can fix problems which normally would call for a reinstallation of the OS; not always but sometimes. -

Search function not working for few days ??
I try to search for object that I have searched before and got results.
now I don't get any result on any search query I give. yesterday I thought , OK I will wait for tomorrow then it will be resolved. but now it's still not working ?
for instance search on CL_SALV_TABLE is giving no results ?
am I the only one experiencing this problem or is it community wide ?

I have a MacBook Pro that is 2 years old and is up to date with updates. All of a sudden when I attempt to open i photo I get a message that says it is either damaged or incomplete and cannot open. Any ideas on how to fix this?
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
