Messages in Other languages
Hi,
I have developed a report in english..But when i execute the code..i wanted all messages to be displayed in italy.
Pls help
Thanks
Hi,
Try using SET LANGUAGE or SET LOCALE LANGUAGE commands.
Make sure that the messages are translated and exist in ITALY before you do this.
Also this will effect only TEXT ELEMENTS not the Message in the message class that is T100 messages are not effected.

How to display Forms messages in other language?
Hi Folks
I have installed Forms and Reports Services 10g (9.0.4.0) in a Linux RHAS3 box
and deploy my applications with IE, the messages are in English (e.g.
frm-40100: At first record) now I want to change to Spanish.
I try to modify the default.env, with the follow variables:
NLS_LANG=SPANISH_SPAIN.WE8ISO8859P1
NLS_LANG=LATIN AMERICAN SPANISH.WE8ISO8859P1
and restart the OC4J_BI_FORMS component, but the message don't change to
Spanish.
Please, could you say me in which file I have to change the NLS_LANG? and which .msb file I need to display the messages in other language?
Thanks and regards,
WilsonHi,
1. Set the nls_lang=language_territory.characterset in the default.env or any
custom .env file.
2. Check whether the required language's .msb file exists in
<iAS_MidTier>\forms90
Note: With 9iAS rel 1 all the supported languages .msb files are installed by
default. For 9iDS and 9iAS rel 2 and above this has to be done explicitly by selecting the "Product Languages" option.
3. The Locale of the Client PC (Windows), which displays the Form in browser,
has to be set to the same nls_lang. Only then you would be able to see the
Form's characters in that language.

Text messaging in other languages
Seems like 3G does not support text messaging in Korean. Messages sent or received in Korean appears as blank or question marks. Is there going to be a firmware update in the future that will allow text messaging in foreign languages?
Message was edited by: sleenyWell, it's a bit complicated, so please bear with me here!
1. An American in the Seattle area whose Window$ PC just got upgraded so that Chinese will display on her computer - not that she can read it - got the Chinese characters from my iPhone, but the European accented letters (é, ê, è, ü etc.) as well as... quotation marks showed up as blank boxes in her reply when I read it on my iPhone. But when I read her reply in *Apple Mail*, each of those showed up as a box with a little cauldron(?) in it.
2. A French Window$ PC / Outlook user in Paris got the same blank boxes when I read his reply on my iPhone, but when read in Entourage on my Mac, they also came through with those little cauldron(?) boxes.
3. A (traditional) Chinese Window$ PC / Outlook Express user in Taiwan got all the foreign accented characters, quotation marks and the Chinese characters, whether I read his reply on my iPhone, in Apple Mail or in Entourage, even though the é went through as if borrowed from a different font.
Any ideas??? -
Messaging in other languages not working
Hi,
Since the update to iPhone 3.1, I'm unable to select input in other languages when messaging. Every time I hit the "Globe" button, the phone just pops back to the home screen. Anyone has similar experience ?I'm still able to change languages...have you tried a hard reset yet??
If you turn off all keyboards but English and then maybe hard reset, then add the keyboards back...it may resolve... -
How do I message in other languages than English
How do I text in other languages than English?
By typing in a language other than English. You can change the keyboard to more suitable forms for many languages.
"Add international keyboards:
1 Choose General > Keyboard > International Keyboards.
The number of active keyboards appears before the right arrow.
2 Tap “Add New Keyboard…,” then choose a keyboard.
You can add as many keyboards as you want. To learn about using international keyboards, see Appendix A, “International Keyboards,” on page 248.
Edit your keyboard list: Choose General > Keyboard > International Keyboards,"

ESW: Enteprise Services Response Messages in other languages
Hi,
I am testing the Enterprise Services from the Workplace with my own clients, and I would like to know if it is possible to set the desired language for the responses. For example I would like to have the "Description" of "Position" in the response of ECC_RPTEEEEQR in german.
Thanks in advance,
AlejandroThanks - my scenario I guess is #2 of that blog. But is your take that even if I don't care what is in the fault message, i.e. I don't care about the contents of it but rather I just want to continue on from it, that I still need to perform this java coding? It's not clear to me from what he says - it seems to me he does the java coding to actually capture the contents of the message. I am in fact using the soap axis adapter too, as he is. The screen shot showing the exception branch is basically what I have.

Text Messaging in Japanese (or other language with non-Roman script)
Is it possible to send/receive text messages written in non-Roman characters with Verizon?
More specifically, I'm using a Droid 2 with Verizon, and I'm trying to text a friend in Japanese. She has an iPhone (AT&T), and is physically in the U.S. (so I'm not asking about international text messaging). I've already installed apps on my Droid (e.g. OpenWNN, or Simeji) to input Japanese, which work fine in and of themselves, and the Droid of course displays Japanese text or other languages just fine on the Browser or in E-mails.
However, I'm having lots of trouble with Text Messaging. When I send a message containing Japanese text (typed in perfectly fine with OpenWNN or whatever), she either never gets the message, or the text comes out unreadable (as ???????). Messages with a mix of Roman and non-Roman characters typically show the Roman characters ok, but the non-Roman ones (i.e. Japanese) are garbled. If she sends me a message containing any non-Roman characters, I generally don't get the message at all (i.e. not even garbled-- just no message at all). This deficiency seems to be specific to Text Messaging, as far as I can tell. I can send and receive e-mails containing Japanese just fine, read foreign language web pages, and type in Japanese into search boxes on those web pages and so on with the Droid. However, sending an e-mail message to (myphone#)@vtext.com, predictably, results in any Japanese text being garbled, though Roman characters come through just fine.
Is this perhaps something specific to Verizon's network? Or is text messaging in non-Roman scripts just inherently impossible? My friend says she knows others who can successfully text in non-Roman scripts (e.g. Korean Hangul, Japanese Kana or Kanji), and claims some of these folks are Verizon customers too. A search on droidforums.com yielded someone who supposedly could text in Korean within Verizon. So, I'm hoping this is possible, and I'm just missing something. However, this is perhaps all secondhand information and rumor.
(Incidentally, I know for certain that messaging with non-Roman scripts is possible in general. During my last vacation in Japan, I rented a phone there, and could send messages in English or Japanese scripts. However, I believe the phones there actually have their own e-mail addresses, and so the service there is more like regular e-mail-- my understanding is that text messaging as we know it in the U.S. is a distinct technology, though I could well be wrong.)
So, to restate my question: is it possible to text message with non-Roman scripts with Verizon? Has anyone out there done this successfully-- if so what did you do, or what app did you use? Or is it in fact impossible? (e.g. Maybe text messaging here only uses 7 or 8 bits, instead of 14 or 16 needed to encode all the various Asian, European, and other scripts?)
Thanks for any help available.I'm trying to figure this out as well, but my understanding on the matter is that Verizon's CDMA network uses unicode which will display, roman characters, loa, thai, and serveral other languages, but not hirigana, kanji, katakana, or simplified or traditional chinese. The Romaji should work however. It would be nice to hear some input from a Verizon rep on the subject, because like you my info is all second hand.
If my understanding is correct, the simple answer is no, it's not possible. -
Trying to open iTunes - get an error message saying "This version of itunes has not been correctly localized for this language. Please run the english version" Saw other answers for windows users, I have a MacAir. never used any other language but English so I have no clue what the problem is. I just want to update my phone and back it up.
Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:
Can you launch your iTunes now? -
Why do I get a popup message in multiple languages requiring a shutdown and restart
Why do I keep getting a popup message in multiple languages requiring a shutdown and restart? Has been going on for a few months. Because of the shutdown reports have been sent to Apple upon restart.
After it restarted, did you see a dialog box resembling this one:
If so, next time it occurs click Report...
Before you send it to Apple, copy the text of the report. Paste it in a reply. Remove or obscure any personal information, should it appear.
If problems continues to occur please determine if they also occur in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well. -

Error message : Vendor Communication language is for item 0000000002
Hi,
We are on EBP 4.0, SP11. Classic scenario.
When the requirement is in sourcing without a source assigned/prederred vendor and the buyer adds a source (in work area) and tries to transfer the requirement back to the worklist by holding the changes there is an error message "Vendor Communication language is for item 0000000001".
This is preventing the buyer from adding a source and holding the change. There seems to be nothing wrong with the vendor. Dont know why this message is flashed.
Can someone suggest what can be done.
If there is a way to change this error message to a warning, will it help? ow can this be done?
Regards,
SrivatsanHi
Check if Communication details are maintained for vendor in Manage Business Partners in SRM browser application.
PS : Reward points if helpful.

Bulk load messages into the language repository?
Hi,
Our existing, pre-APEX, applications make use of a common table of 'messages' to provide multiple language support e.g. we have a lookup against message number and language to produce the required message.
This seems very similar to the functionality supplied through the apex_lang message repository. Is there an easy way in which we can load a modified version of our current messages into the repository without having to enter them in manually?
Thanks,
AndyArie Geller wrote:
Hello Andy,
>> I'm slightly(!) confused. Are you advocating using the wwv_flow_api.create_message API or manual entry? The link that you posted refers to the API as a method of message entry, I don't see a reference to exporting messages from an existing application?
Let’s go back to the beginning. As I understood, you first asked whether you can use some existing translation tables, to automatically populate the APEX translation repository. My answer was ‘no’ and I don’t think Flavio suggestions contradict it.Understood, in 'my' head the ability to create a script that would pick up my existing messages and use the 'create_message' API to load them into APEX was close enough to automatic for me! My intention is that our first move from legacy to APEX messaging would be to do this to create the base messages, and that we would consider translation later... (In some cases, I could use our existing multi-language messages to produce both the primary language and the translated messages).
Is my position more clear now? I hope so :)Thanks, much clearer, however the final step - once we have a set of base/primary and translated messages, how do we make use of them in a later application? -
Cannot read mails written in other languages but english
Hi guys, I have this serious problem about writing and reading mails in other languages, for example, Japanese. I have tried both Hotmail in Safari and also Mail application. I think that it might be after the latest upgrade of Mac OS X. Is anybody facing the same problem? Advices needed. Thank you.
Hi guys, I have this serious problem about writing

Japanese. I have tried both Hotmail in Safari and

Could you provide more details about your specific problems? For example, can you not compose in Japanese, or is the problem that it does not come out right at the other end? As for reading, what are you seeing? Have you tried setting the encoding to one of the Japanese options in Message > Text Encoding for Mail or View > Text Encoding for Safari? For webmail, have you tried FireFox? Safari will not work with some systems. -

I18N - French ,English other languages
I want to develop a Webdynapro page ,which has
Employee Name Text input field
Company list dropdown.
Deaprtment List dropdown
Save Button
English / French Button.
If User clicks French ,
All labels and data in dropdowns should be populated with French list data.
If User selects Company dropdown - onchange event should fire to retrive Department data in French/English Based On Language Selection button.
If there is no data in SAP for given Company selection ,a message from sap need to be shown in respective language.
In Future in addition to French/English application should support for any other languages
Any thoughts/ suggestions on such requirment.Well normally the SAP-standard RFCs fill in the sy-langu as the value for the language selection. That is the language the user is logged on with. You can do the same with the none-standard RFCs.
To change the Connection with the JCO on the fly using webdynpro is not possible as far as I know. You could try to find the connection your model is using, change the language and reset it. A new connection is then created. I know the last part works, just don´t know if you can change the connection language that way. Still I wouldn´t expect the texts on screen to change automatically.
