Messages/Jabber: Clean up messy Buddy Lists and start over

Messages (Jabber) turned On
We are not chatting with anyone outside our Jabber server
Problem
Over time duplicate users have shown up on clients buddy lists
Some users display as "Not authoirzed"
Some client's Buddy Lists show old users that have since been removed
Questions
How do I wiipe all Buddy Lists clean? (I am okay with deleting database and starting over if it doesn't affect anything outside of Messages)
I have checked "Make group members Messages buddies" in the group that I want to auto-populate for everyone after I clear all the Buddy Lists. How do I make this happen after I clear everyone's Buddy Lists?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I send email using a mailing list, with my email included in the list, the message shows up in my Sent list and others receive it but it does not come to my email Inbox. The same problem occurs when I send the email to the mailing list addresses individually. When I send a simple test message to myself, I do receive it in my Inbox. Can you help me??

Are you using either cc or bcc? Is googlemail involved? Some email providers suppress cc's and bcc's to oneself since you will have a copy in your Sent folder.

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.

The spinning "wheel of death" does NOT go away! I've loaded too much stuff on my computer (including the entire Adobe CS6 software) and I want to delete everything on my macbook pro and start over? How do I clean everything up without buying MacKeeper?

I use my MacBook Pro (Late 2009) for EVERYTHING and I have loaded so many apps, even doubles of some, I think!   My computer is running really SLOW and I think it is because I don't have enough memory.
I just installed the new Adobe CS6 and that was a BIG mistake. The spinnning wheel of death doesn't stop! I wish I could load that program on my computer so I can use it "on the go", but I can't stand the spinning wheel!
I want to clean up my computer and get rid of EVERYTHING on it!!     Then, re-install the factory settings to run Lion. I believe this will make the wheel stop spinning.
However, how do I make sure that all of the extra stuff that is attached to the app, ( including all the cache') is deleted too?   I don't want to have to buy MacKeeper!
I am hoping the computer wizards or the apple team can give me an answer on how to clean up everything and start over. I have saved everything on my desktop mac.

I can not upgrade from 10.2 to 10.6 because of missing "itunes.msi" file. How do I repair it? I can not remove itunes and start over.

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

(cant seem to get calendars to ever sync right, on my devices, and across to my wifes'....so want to start with a "clean installation")

Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account (this disconnects the device from icloud but doesn't delete any data on icloud or on other devices).
If you then want to sign back in using a different ID, do so on the same screen.
I also strongly suggest that you and your wife use different icloud accounts, otherwise all your devices will have the same data on them, same emails, reminders, etc. Most likely not what you want.

My daughter's data has been put on my icloud account. I cannot hook up to the icloud wihtout getting all her info on my phone. i would like to delete the account and start over or find a way to remove her info

Without realizing it, my daughter and I are both using my icloud account for our phones. Now I cannot go to the cloud without importing all of my daughter's data to my phone. Be sure she signs out of your account before wiping her phone. Also, make sure Find my iPhone is disabled before you wipe it..
Unfortunately, since you have "merged" her data with yours, you will need to delete each unwanted item individually. If you delete the account, when you sign back in with the same account the same data will be synched back from iCloud.

Previously downloaded songs stop and start over during re-download.

I have several questions, and I'm hoping that someone can help me out with at least one of them. I have a 4th generation iPod Touch, and recently I had to start syncing to another computer after all of the USB ports on my computer stopped working out of nowhere (help on that issue would also be appreciated). Everything seemed to be working fine, I was manually managing my music and burned some CDs to transfer to my iPod. They transferred smoothly, and then afterwards I moved all of the tracks on the computer onto an external hard drive and deleted them from iTunes because the memory was getting too full. I hadn't even plugged the iPod back in or synced it wirelessly after that, but out of nowhere all of the music from the CDs and 78 tracks that I purchased on the iPod just deleted. I got all but one of the purchased songs back, and with that one, when I re-download it the meter fills almost all the way and starts over (this is all being done from the iPod itself). It has been doing this for several hours. In attempt to move all of the music from the CDs back, I took the music from the external hard drive and manually moved it to my iPod through iTunes. When I look at the iPod in iTunes, it appeared as if all of my music was back. On the device, however, the CDs still weren't there. I eventually gave up hope and ejected my iPod, only to realize that some of my music purchased on the iPod had lost its cover art. In effort to fix this (and this has worked before), I erased all of said songs and started to re-download from the Purchased list in iTunes (on the device). Now, all of the songs in the process of being re-downloaded have a gray music note next to them in the Downloads list and either say "Download error", act like the song mentioned earlier, or do nothing at all. I really just want my purchased music back, so if you know anything about the issue or have experienced something similar, please help me!

I suggest for you to add all the songs to your iTunes library. Once everything is in place, sync it to your iPod. You may also try wireless syncing as well.

I HAVE A USER ID, A SYNC KEY BUT NO WORKING PASSWORD ; CAN I CANCEL THIS ATTEMPT AND START OVER again.

i followed all the directions e ,mailed to me ,but when i tried to sync my iphone the error message said incorrect password. I then asked for a second set of instructions and redoubled my efforts and still no sucess i tried to reset tghe password but I don't have a sync tab setup under firefox/tools/options. If allowed to cancel the sync key and start over again knowing the pitfalls I have encountered I would be succeswful. i THINK FIREFox is the best system I enjoy using it every day. thankyou

On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data then reselect it then restart your iMac.

1. Startup from your 10.5 install DVD and go to Utilities > Disk Utility.
2. Highlight the HDD in the list of drives and select the Partition tab.
3. Under Volume Scheme select 1 Partition and click on the Options... button.
4. Select GUID Partition Table in the drop down window and click OK.
5. Set the Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and click the Apply button.
6. Once thats done Install OS X from the Install DVD and update..
To update the fresh OS X, use the > Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update

Clearing out my hard drive and starting over

I'd like to basically wipe my macbook clean and start over from scratch. There was a user on it who is no longer using it, and his logins are taking up a lot of space. Any tips on how to do this?

Put in your install disk and boot from it. Then do an erase and install.

Well you can make a bootable dvd this way:
After downloading the Install OS X Mavericks.app file from the Mac App Store, run these 12 commands in Terminal to create a Mavericks.iso file and then burn it to a dual layer DVD with Disk Utility. You may then boot up from it by holding the option key down and then install mavericks. This will not install a recovery partition.
