Messages on iPhone 6 won't send SMS

Both my wife and I have iPhone 6. We only use the cellular network occasionally - it is rarely turned on. We both use our home and work wifi networks.
I have had to turn off iMessage on my phone, because I have friends who have switched to that other mobile OS, and they are not interested in telling Apple about it (as one must do to unregister from iMessage).
My phone now refuses to send SMS to my wife - my phone insists that she can only get blue iMessages. I cannot find any way to turn the "Send" button green.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hmmmmm, that does not make any logical sense.
If I understand correctly, you send a text only message to contact A and it sends fine
If you send a message containing a picture to contact A it shows as delivered but never appears on their device?
Has this been tried with multiple contacts?
Does basic MMS work?
Any difference if your are connected to Wi-Fi? Cellular data?

Hi all,<br>Today I experienced a fault with my iPhone 5. I was texting a number and then all of a sudden it'd get to about 90% of the sending bar and it'd sit like that for about a minute, then it'd say 'not delivered' with the red exclamation badge and 'Message Send Failure'. I had full reception, (not LTE but 3G) and because this mobile is Pre-Paid I also had sufficient credit. The number being texted is also a Telstra carrier. I reset the Network settings, turned the phone off and on, and then I reset the phone by holding down the lock and home button. After a while I tried sending the message again multiple times but it still didn't send. I tried once more and after a while it finally sent. However, the receiver told me they received multiple text messages from me when it says I've only sent it once. Their mobile is not an iPhone. I wonder, why did this happen? Could there have been a network overload in the local Telstra tower so it wouldn't send?<br>Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi Telstra, I've been having the same problem with one number (my Mum's) who is also on Telstra. I'm on IPhone5 with Telstra contract with a number ported from Optus. The other number is on a Telstra contract phone. She can receive texts from other phones, just not mine. She can send me texts but I can't reply successfully. Just upgraded to iOS 7 but that didn't fix the issue.

IMessage not working won't send SMS either

iphone 5S won't send messages to iPhone 4 running iOS6 (with all updates). macbook pro, mac mini, both 10.8.5, iPad
Same apple ID--always worked to send messages within the family to different phone numberts when we both had iPhone 4. I put send as SMS when iMessage not available and it didn't work either. The settings all seem right as far as sending/recieving from each device and texting works to other numbers from the iphone 5s but not from the 5 to the 4---but the 4 CAN send messages to the 5S. I cannot send iMessages from my Macs to the 5S.
Help!

Let's get this data under control. Are you using WiFi? Have you considered using our Family Base feature. How much data has your phone used?

Well yes, you probably will have problems with your phone because a 'contract free' phone is NOT the same as a fully unlocked iPhone.
This is a user forum, so nobody here can really help you. As Sprint is your carrier in the US, then you need to contact them first. They are the only ones who can help you.

Iphone 4 won't send e-mails via aol

My iphone 4 won't send e-mails from my aol account.
i have updated to the latest software which has made no difference, it wasn't working on the previous software.
I have removed and installed my aol account again, switched wi-fi on and off and nothing that I have read on other posts seems to work.

IPhone 3GS won't send texts anymore!

I have an iPhone 3GS, and since I upgraded to iOS5 it won't send text messages! I have plenty of service, but I can't send texts. The bar will get close to the end, but never say "message sent". I've rebooted and reset everything already multiple times and it STILL won't work. I turned off my 3G and it STILL won't work. it's driving me crazy! It never did this until I upgraded the software. someone please tell me how to fix it!

If you've talked to your cell provider, to verify nothing is wrong on the account provisioning end, the next step would be a device "restore". This would be the logical next step to take after "reboot and reset".

My iPhone 5c won't send iMessages, snapchats, email from the Mail app, and it won't load YouTube. Other internet apps like Pandora and Instagram work fine though. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

A couple days ago I first noticed the problem when snapchats would appear on my lock screen but when I opened the app I kept getting the error message that the app was not able to refresh my story. Then the next day I was no longer able to send iMessages, they wouldn't go through and would only reach the second party when I sent them as text messages. Also, YouTube won't load and Mail won't send or receive email. I've already tried restarting my phone but there was no change. At first I thought my network connection was the problem but Instagram, Safari, Vine and Pandora all work perfectly. Any suggestions?

Try this procedure to be sure of a proper restart.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
I would also try: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

My iPhone 5 will not send MMS anymore. I can only send pictures to people who have iPhones. My data is on, I have my MMS option on, and the "send as an SMS" option is on as well. I've also restored and reset my setting. I'm also on AT&T.

not sure what carrier you are using but i use straighttalk and had same issue....here is how i resolved it
1. delete any profiles you have saved settings>general>profile delete if you see profile there if not go to step 2
2. turn on wifi (my internet was also not working)
3. open safari
4. type iapnupdatetfdata.straighttalk.com
5. download profile
6. turn off wifi
7. turn off phone
8. turn on phone
my internet and pictures worked after this, any user, any carrier, no issues....hope this is helpful!

Frist i am going to ask that this post is edited for your safety. YOU shouldnt post your meid and serial number ect. Second you would want to talk to the carrier because your on a carrier network that isnt normal a supported carrier.
