Messages - Send button missing

After installing Maverics and 10.9.2 on my iMac, I do not have a send button when I open to send a message. I can choose a recepient, and the bottom box allows me to type my message, but there is no send button as there is on my iPhone and iPad.
How do I send a message from my Mac?
Thanks

Looks like I solved my own problem.
There is no send button.
All you do after writing the message is to hit "Enter" and the message is sent.

  • New Message "Send" Button has disappeared!

i don't know how or why or when this happened, but the "Send" button on new mail messages has disappeared. I now have to use the "message" menu and select "send" from there.
any suggestions on how to get it back? I tried the view menu but no luck there!

have you tried quiting Mail and relaunching?
If that doesn't work try moving the following files to the desktop and then Logging out/ Login in.
    ~users/library/caches/mail
    ~users/library/mail/envelope index
If that works you can trash the files on your desktop.
    This might cure the problem.

  • Can't send text message--Send button "grayed out"

When texting about 70% of the time the send button is grayed out. I've checked to make sure the recipients phone # has the area code.
I have to retype the message several times and with no rhyme or reason that I can discern it's finally sendable. I've reset the phone
and sometimes that works. I called  the genious line and was told basically "it's a bug" --not a great answer. Same thing happened on my 3gs
    Any thoughts on the matter?

My iphone 4 does the same thing. I keep exiting text messages and then reopening and typing the first letter of my text to see if the send icon will whiten from the grey. Really a pain and waste of time. I thought I would look around here for a solution before making appt with the apple store.

  • HCM PnF - "Send" button missing while saving the form as Draft

    Hi All,
We are facing an issue in HCM PnF.
Issue is - Whenever we are saving the form as Draft and later on when we open it and try to send it, the "Send" button is missing.

    Hi Pooja,
I think u are viewing the Display Form Records, When you select the Record in the Draft status then it just opens the form which just gives the option to view not to check and send.
You have the select the Record from the Above tabel (UWL) which will open the appln which will be having the different buttons in different view of Process..
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks

  • Send button missing

Just getting to grips with Lion, about to send my first email from the mail program, selected new message, up pops a new message window where I enter the to:, cc & subject and of course he message....but there's no send button of any sort! I can send by using the cmd, shift & D, but n other way..... has Apple decided to create a secret society? do I need to be a Mason, give the secret pass-phrase and the button suddenly appears?
I've seen from this forum a few people have had the same problem (clearly not Masons either!) but no one seems to have published an answer

No, I checked that, the only option I have is 'hide toolbar'.
A toolbar does appear OK it just doesn't have a 'send' button - kinda critical realy!
I've also looked in the 'customise toolbar' but there is no 'send' icon in there to put on the toolbar
This is so annoying, I thought only MS Windows could annoy me - apparently MS are not alone!

  • Send Button Missing or Not??

I could be losing my mind, but I thought that the 'Send' button always appeared on a new Mail or Reply message header. I know it is under Message > Send, but I keep thinking that it used to always be visible in the header.
I have looked for a way to tweak the Mail menu, but that does not seem possible. If anyone can shed some light on this I would be most grateful to know that tidbit of info.
    Thanks,
    Phillip Anthony

I did as you suggested but did not see a Send icon or text as a choice. Perhaps Apple chose not to make it an option for the Mail menu for some reason.
Thanks again for info on how to customize the Mail menu.
I had nothing to say about customizing the Mail menu. My advice was about the Mail toolbar, which is what you see near the top of a Mail window, which you seem to be calling the "message header". When I click the "New Message" button, then control-click in the gray strip above the "To:" field, the resulting "contextual menu" gives me the choice of "Customize Toolbar..."

  • Send button missing; no view menu for compose window to get it back.

I have a client who uses Thunderbird for SMTP email with his local ISP. Today he complained that his send button is missing. I've scoured the threads about this and have found that the solution has to do with the View > Toolbars option but I have no menu at the top of the compose window. I have him pressing ctrl+enter to send his emails but this is a temporary fix.

You need the File Menu and the Composition Toolbar in the "Write:" window (composition window). Open a "Write:" window. If the File menu is missing, press the F10 button. When the File Menu appears, 'right click' anywhere in the File Menu area, then click (select) "Menu Bar" and "Composition Toolbar." The 'Send' button is on the 'Composition Toolbar.' Be aware that if these Toolbars are not 'checked' (selected), they will not appear at the top of your "Write:" window.
Alternatively, you can open the "Write:" window, press F10 or the Alt key. When the File Menu appears, click the View menu, point to Toolbars, then click "Menu Bar" and "Composition Toolbar." You can also select other toolbars to add them to the Write window, or deselect them to take them out.

  • In messages send button stopped working

    send button has stopped working

Unfortunately, the SMTP and outgoing mail settings aren't the issue. The issue is that the "send" button is visible but un-clickable. I tested sending mail from all of my accounts and it works just fine--sometimes. Other times, I try to reply to an email or send out a new one and the "send" button does not allow me to send anything at all.

I am using a PC.  I uploaded Java which may or may not be coincidental.  I can only write an email by selecting a contact but the send button is no longer there.  I can reply to an email but this now appears as a box at the bottom of the screen  with a send button next to it.
    Thanks for your interest
    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Are you logging into email using the browser or an email client such as Outlook, Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail ?
When you say you've "uploaded Java" - do you actually mean that you have installed a Java update when prompted, and when looking at the browser, accepted the add-in ? This should not interfere.
What browser are you using, IE8 or IE9, Firefox, Chrome, Opera or another ?
If you are using a browser, was the Send button just above the "Compose email" entry screen ?

  • HT3529 I receive messages on my iPad, but I cannot send a reply. The send button will not respond to my touch.

I receive messages on my iPad, but I cannot send a reply. The send button will not respond to my touch.

It's not that you can't use the subject field, but it is very unreliable when I try to use it. Sometimes the message send button will work and sometimes it won't.
But the biggest reason to turn it off is so that you do not accidentally type your message in the subject field. You can type a subject in that field, but you still have to type the actual message in the space below the subject field.

  • Where is SEND button in latest version?

After v.5, the Intant Message  SEND button was relocated outside the message text panel. When the panel is reduced to less than 50% of screen width, the SEND button vanishes. Has the button been relocated INSIDE in the text panel in the latest version? I don't wish to d/l the latest version if I must then re-instal the earlier version.
I know about configuring 'Return' to either send a message or create a new line - that's not the issue. I wish to create a new line when I have multiple IM panels open, each one perhaps 25% of screen width and I then need a visible SEND button

Yesterday when I opened Skype I found that no matter how I changed the screen there was no longer a 'send' button! Now I didn't use it anymore because the option to remove her 'enter' key from sending was no longer there. I missed it as I often want a line break and without holding the shift key the message sent when I only wanted to give a line break! Well the took away the send key as I guess they figured no one used it! In looking in 'tools' 'options' I found in and advanced setting and there again was the option to change the use of the 'enter' key. so I changed it to 'line break' ! then when I finished the message I wondered how was I to send the message since the send key was gone? in speaking to a friend in France who uses Linux as an OS he said he had to use the Ctrl key with the Enter key. So I tried that and it works!

    Hi, try this...
If nothing is showing in the Toolbar at top, click the little gray oval at top right.
Right click or Control+click on the Toolbar, choose Customize Toolbar, drag the Send button to the Toolbar.

  • SEND button seems to be missing in MAIL

When I compose a new message, there is no SEND button. Even if I save it to DRAFTS, I can't seem to send any messages. Hope someone can help me???

    open a "new mail' window
click view - customize toolbar ( from mail's menu)
drag the Send button icon back into the toolbar
    click done
That's the usual fix for any missing buttons

  • Green 'Send' button in messages?

Why is the send button for text messages now green on my iphone 4? Other phones on our plan updated to iOS 5 are still blue. Is there a setting I am missing? Thanks in advance.

A green button means that the message is being sent using SMS or MMS.
A blue button means the message is being sent directly to the device using iMessage.
Have you supplied your Apple ID in Settings->Messages and enabled iMessage?
