Messages sent from iPhone not visible on iMac

When I send a message on my iPad using iOS 8.1.2 it does not show up in Messages on my iMac running OSX 10.9.5 but it does show up on my iPhone, also running the latest version of iOS 8.1.2. Does this feature not work with OSX 10.9.x or is there another problem and, if there is a problem, how can it be corrected?
Thanks.

Try restarting all the devices.

  • MMS messages sent from iPhones on my Blackberry iMac

Here is a question I can not recieve MMS messages on my iMac because I have a Blackberry Q10 and not an iPhone.
In iMac Messages you can add an account but I can not figure out how to add BBM account to the iMac.
Under accounts types it only allow an AIM type account which puts me into AOL.  Has anyone been able to make a Blackberry work with BBM on a Mac.

If I understand your question correctly, you wish to receive BBM messages on your iMac. Is that correct? If that's what you're asking, currently BBM messages can be viewed only on a phone (BlackBerry, Android and iOS). Will BBM messages be accessible via a PC or Mac someday? Maybe yes, maybe no but at this point it's phones only.
I hope that answers your question.

  • How NOT to save iCloud Mail messages sent from iPhone?

Using iCloud Mail on a MacBook / Safari, e-mail messages are NOT saved - the relevant box in Preferences is unchecked. However they are saved in the Sent folder when sent from an iPhone. Is there any way they are NOT saved either way?

Again, ON MY IPHONE only has Sent option. There's no way you can set the Sent mailbox to any Trash anywhere.

  • Mail send from iPhone not visible from Macbook

Any mail I sent from my iPhone (latest OS) is not visible from my Macbook Pro (latest OS) in the sent box.
I need this to be fixed. How? I have read through the forums and there seems to be no fix to this. And yes, I have everything configured properly (ie. to keep sent messages on server, etc).
Any help to fix this would be appreciated as I need to access all my emails for work from my computer.

Please ignore the above .  I have discovered what I did wrong - but don't know how to delete the question!

  • Bug with Cyrillic-UTF-8 encoding in Outlook messages sent from iphone

Some time, during replay or forwarding mails, written in Cyrillic form iPhone3GS (iOS 4.0), iPhone send a format of the message UTF-8 and did not field the charset field.
In such case most of the windows client(Outlook, The BAT, Firefox) cannot recognize the message encoding automatically. Advanced clients have to use manual setting of the encoding.
In older iOS in iPhone2G i have't met such problem

  • Photos from iPhone not showing on iMac

I have taken several pictures today with my iPhone and after several hours, they are not showing in Photos on my iMac.  Pictures that I have imported to the iMac are showing on the iPhone.  I have set up both devices to use iCloud and both devices appear to be set correctly.
How long should it take for pictures from iPhone to appear on the iMac?
    Help!!
    Thanks!

A couple of thoughts here - have you updated both devices to latest OS operating system? Then make sure that you have signed out of iCloud on both devices at the same time.  You might check to see if you have any photos on the iCloud website as well.  If you do, decide if you want to deleter them or not?  I used my iMac as the base file since it had all of my picture history.  When this is done, turn on iCloud Photo on your Mac either using System Preferences or opening Photos and turning in iCloud Photo.  If you have a large number of photos and videos, the sync process the first time is going to take time. I have over 9500 pics and videos in my collection, and it took almost 4 days to get through this.  Also - check to make sure you do not have energy saving settings that disconnect the Mac during this process.  Let it run - it should complete.  You can check progress in Photos and see when this is done.  Then when all photos and videos are sync'd,, then turn on the iPhone and let it run until done.  This will also take time depending on the size of your file.
If you are not getting connected - make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account.
    Here's hoping this might work!

  • Messages sent on iPhone not displaying correctly in Entourage sent messages

Hi. I was really looking forward to "full Exchange support" on my iPhone, but am unhappy to report that that's not what I've got. When I send messages from my iPhone and Entourage imports them into the sent messages folder via Active Sync, the messages show up with no subject, no recipient, and the body of them just looks like a bunch of code!
The sent messages do show up fine in my iPhone, as well as when I log into my online Exchange site... this seems to be an issue exclusively with Entourage. Well, all Mac users utilizing Exchange are limited to Entourage... is this a problem for everyone? I found a Microsoft story on this, but it references Entourage 2004- I'm using the latest version in '08. Here's the link to the story:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926521
Any light anyone could shed on this would be much appreciated! It's hard for me to accept that it's just a bug that's been known about for several years, but never fixed. Thanks!

This does not appear to be iPhone-specific. It is an issue with ActiveSync in general, as that KB document explains. This happens with any phone using ActiveSync.
A very hacky workaround is to choose the setting to automatically Bcc yourself on all sent messages, then set up a rule in Entourage to move messages from yourself to the Sent folder.

  • Messages sent from ipad not in mail on computer

I have a POP email account which i use on both my macbook pro and my ipad 3g. How can I get the sent messages on my ipad to show up in mail on my laptop? It is not happening when I synchronize the ipad to the computer. There is no option for sent messages when I go to settings-mail,contacts,calendar-account-advanced on the ipad... there is only deleted messages and incoming settings available.

Meg is right. Can't be done on a POP account unless you cc yourself.
POP has one advantage on the iPad/iPhone, and that is that you can keep a smaller subset of your emails on your mobile device. That is, you can delete mails and still have them stored on your main computer. You can't do that with IMAP. (Unless someone knows otherwise!)

  • Emails sent from iPhone not being received

I've noticed this happening over the past week or so... Anytime I initiate a new email thread from my Gmail account on my iPhone, the recipient isn't getting it. If I go into Gmail via the web I'll see the email in my Sent Items, but it never arrives. In one instance, I got a bounceback message from the recipient's server, but in the others I haven't gotten anything back. This has happened to at least 5 different email addresses, all with different providers, that I've tried to send to, and needless to say I am sure that all of these addresses are indeed valid recipients.
I'm already running iPhone OS 3.1...

If you see it in the gmail sent box on the web, then it was sent.
It sounds like something you need to talk with google about.

  • While traveling in Ireland and riding on hotel WiFi, emails sent from iPhone not always received -- some were, some were not.  All were shown as sent on my iPhone.

While traveling in Ireland last week, I was using my iPhone 5 to access my incoming email and to send email.  All of my outgoing emails are shown as sent but not all were received.  Not a function of whether emails were replies or particular addressees -- some emails to same addressees received, others not.  Help would be appreciated.

That sounds like a local WiFi issue...can you login to the email server of your email provider?  If so, you can check and see if the emails you sent reached the server.
Providers like Verizon, and AT&T, and Comcast in the US have direct login capability for subscribers...there you can check your account activity and see if the emails were received by the server to send on.  The iPhone merely shows you that the email left the iPhone, nothing about what happened after that.

  • Messages sent from Outlook, not in transport logs

We had an interesting problem with our Exchange environment that has left a mystery behind.
A couple days ago, we had a catastrophic failure that took both of our mailbox and transport servers offline for approximately 1 hour. After we got the servers back online, we had reports of email not making it to recipients, both internal and external.
We looked everywhere for a problem, but we couldn't find any definite source, so we restarted the Exchange services on both servers. This fixed the mail flow problems, but now we cannot find any trace of the emails sent during this problem period.
Any ideas what would have happened, why emails were not left in users' outboxes, and why anything that didn't get delivered didn't throw an NDA at least? The emails DO appear in the users' sent items folder, just no record of them after that.

    Hi,
You can check with your system/application logs, there are related logs generated.
When a fatal/permanent JET exception (logical corruption) has appeared in the database, the feature will be triggered so that the queue, log and system folders are moved (add .OLD to path), a
warning event will be fired to inform administrator that the transport database folders have been moved. After that, worker process will be restarted, and then try to attach a new database
If the transport component can’t move the old folder, the possible cause is that the target folder has already existed as the “Move”  action
will only perform once, the subsequent recovery action will fail along with event 17104 until the previous queue database backup has been renamed or deleted
You can see the entire recovery procedure in event 17102
If you want to stop this feature, please set the value of the “QueueDatabaseRecoveryAction” key to “None” in transport application config file:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Bin\EdgeTransport.exe.config
    <add key="QueueDatabaseRecoveryAction" value="None" />
Notes: The default setting is “Move”
Notes: After you stop the feature, transport service won’t try to recover the queue
if the corruption happens again. It’ll just log the error event in the application log and stop the transport service. Then, you need to follow the link from Anil to delete the old database, or repair it before the service can be started again
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks.

  • Email (imap) sent from iPhone not showing on computer

I read some answers about this issue, but I don't know how to check the settings on my phone. Help!

  • Automatic "sent from iphone message"

How do I automatically add the message "sent from iphone" to my messages I send from my iphone (I have the older version - not the new 3G. Thanks.

It is like the "sent from a mobile device so excuse the typos" on the Blackberry, that is the default signature. Since it is sent from your iPhone you are supposed to excuse any typos, and is put there as the default since the statement is truthful as it was in fact sent from an iPhone.
I've never considered it being bragging and don't think most people think you are a "proper idiot". I haven't changed mine mainly because I haven't come up with anything to replace it, and I believe they put the default there so people will notice it and can just edit it.
Maybe I'll change mine to, "Changed to this so edgedatuk won't think me a proper idiot."
    Has a ring to it.

  • Why Gmail sent from my iPhone not appearing in iMac's Sent folder?

    Hi guys,
Some time after installing iCloud - possibly the same day, I sent a message from my iPhone 3G to multiple recipients.
    a) No one got it, b) my message appears as Sent in iPhone and in Gmail (on their site), and on my iMac's Gmail/Sent folder, but not in the iMac's Mail/Sent folder - which is the one I always check.
I have 2 questions: 1. how come a message appearing as Sent on Gmail's own site isn't received (there were 4 recipients) and, 2. why does it appear as Sent in some but not all Sent folders?
Would iCloud have anything to do with it?
I just sent a test message to myself from my iPhone. I got the message both on the iPhone AND iMac, but again the message does not appear in the iMac's/Mail Sent folder. Bizarre?
PS   All my software is up to date, regardless of what my profile says.
    Thanks a lot,
    Raphael

Please ignore the above .  I have discovered what I did wrong - but don't know how to delete the question!

  • Emails are not being received if sent from iPhone or iPad, but MBA OK

I've used my iPhone and iPad a lot to send messages to various email addresses at a specific company.  They've always gone through without problem, but suddenly they're not coming through.  They aren't in the SPAM folder and haven't been quarantined either.  Messages sent from my MacBook Air go through successfully.
It doesn't matter which email account I send the message through, what the content is, or who I send it to.  No one else is having problems sending emails from their iPhones or iPads.
Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

No longer a problem.  The emails I sent finally showed up.
