Messages sent with .MAC never arrive

Over the past couple months i have noticed that people arenot receiving email that i have sent with my Email Only Account. I basically created another email only account in addition to my main .MAC account and notice that when i send email from that account it never arrives to the appropriate recipient. Does anyone have any thoughts why this may be happening? I have checked "Sent" mail and the message is in that folder. Weird.

Hello,
I have my normal .MAC account. If you go to the Home page and look at the Account Setting you have the option to add an "Email Only Account" for $10 which will only allow that user email, not iDisk, etc. It's this account that is having issues when email is sent. Does that help?

When we returned from a weekend trip, both emails were working.  The obvious answer [to me anyway] is that the problem was with Roadrunner, not our minimac. The chances of finding out what the problem was with Roadrunner are slim and none.

  • The messages sent with PC suite are not saved in m...

I have a bluetooth device to connect my phone (Nokia 6233) to PC. When I'm trying to send a message everything goes perfect (the message is sent) only one problem appear: the message is not saved in my phone.
    Any ideas for this problem?
Why the messages sent with PC suite are not saved in my phone?

there may be differencies between phone models here (S60 devices or S40 devices, you have S40). Also if I recall right, it used to be so that some older versions of PC Suite did not save the PC sent sms's to phone.
However, with my N95 the messages are saved. So make sure you have the latest Pc Suite and then try again. If it fails, then it might be that message saving is not supported with S40 phones (Anyone having a S40 phone could verify this)

Has anyone had a problem with Draft Emails getting sent with Mac OS 10.8.2? It just happened to me and sent a few drafts out to a potential employer I planned on sending out tomorrow.

Hi, one question & one suggestion...
What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • Mail with pdf never arrives.

I have 2 iCloud mail accounts, and my girlfriend has 1. Mail normally works perfectly between them. However, when I attempt to send a large pdf attachment (exported from a Pages document) it never arrives. It is listed as sent. I cannot see anything wrong with the pdf, and other (smaller and non-Pages) pdf's I have used to test the accounts all work.
So, to recap: All Apple software, all Apple iCloud.
    Anybody seen anything like this?

Are they larger than 20 MB?
That is apparently the size limit: http://email.about.com/od/iCloud-Mail-Tips/qt/Know-The-Icloud-Mail-Message-And-A ttachment-Size-Limits.htm

  • Messages sent with Thunderbird do not get to recipient, but I can use other email clients that do. Settings are correct and I can check webmail and see in sent.

When I send an email it says that it is sent, but it never gets to the recipient. I am using multiple email addresses to check this and have looked in spam and all folders and the message is just not actually going through. I can log in to web-mail and the message appears in the sent folder and I can resend from web-mail and instantly the mail is received. I also installed another email client program and it is able to send mails and they go through instantly. Only Thunderbird is having issues with this. I have tried uninstalling and rebooting and then re-installing and after setup I still can not get emails to go through. If this is something simple with a setting for Thunderbird I would love a fix as we have been using Thunderbird for 6+ years. Otherwise I will just have to use the other program as it works with no mess

  • How do I show in Facebook message "sent from mac"? Is it possible?

I was wondering if there's any option as such which would show "sent from mac" in facebook. Please, free to leave your ideas. I'd love to hear them.

When I want to copy it to a thumbdrive ... click/drag is the standard, but it's never worked with iPhoto ... & it seems, it STILL doesn't work with the iOS-looking "photo."  sigh.
FWIW, you can drag a photo, video, or a selection of several items from the Photos main window into a folder (including the desktop), but you get a recompressed version at a (non-adjustable) fixed pixel resolution that is typically lower than the original, & it will be the edited version if you have edited the photo in Photos. Because of the recompression & resolution changes, it can take from a fraction of a second to many minutes for the dropped copies to appear in the folder, particularly if you are dropping multiple items and/or large video files.
However, if you hold down the option key during the drag & drop, you get an unaltered version of the original(s) & the process takes no longer than a normal file copy.
This may be useful for copying to thumb drives.

  • Sync with .mac never seemed to work great, now won't work at all

sync never seemed to work that well for me, now it won't work at all. I get the following message now:
    .Mac Sync Error
A failure occurred while synchronizing the .Mac Sync Client.
I've tried reseting all the .mac stuff, but nothing seems to work now. Its pretty frustrating. Plus, while mac support in the store and over the phone is superb, .mac support online is a joke. Doesn't anyone have any suggestions?

With the exception of a framework reset, iSync no longer has anything to do with .Mac synchronization, which is instead handled exclusively by .Mac Sync.
I would start with a search of this forum for the error messages you describe:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=957
Some of the same users who answer questions here regarding iSync, also do that there for users of .Mac Sync.

  • Why email sent for password change "sent successfully" but never arrives

I am frustrated beyond measure! I need to sign in to Firefox, Mozilla, or Thunderbird but it won't accept my password and when an email is sent to [email protected] to reset password it never arrives.
Note: This started after I could no longer click on any link in my email and access website/link. If I type in or copy link address and paste into my google browser it can't find it and says it is not a correct address.
This just started 4-5 days ago.
I receive other emails and have checked settings, filters, restarted Thunderbird, Firefox, run diagnostics to no avail.
    Please help. Thank you. Patricia

ok, I am confused, but I think no more than you.
Thunderbird stores your passwords, it does not allocate them or reissue them. Mozilla have no idea what your mail accounts or passwords are.
You can apparently log into this site (your posting here), and this site is what any password reset mails would be about if they come from Mozilla.
I strongly suggest you log into your web mail at delextreme.com and look in the trash, spam. junk and any other folders your mail provider may ave stuck them into. Password reset emails regularly go to spam or trash. Mail providers just do what they like.
Notre that is you click a link and chrome can not find the link it is not a problem with your mail client. It may however be a problem with your anti virus (modifying the links to protect you from yourself) or a DNS issue preventing the sites from resolving. (contact with your isp may well be required to fix that)

  • How can I access messages sent to .mac email aliases?

First off, I apologize if this has been addressed earlier. It appears that search is disabled right now and I don't have time to sift through the entire discussion.
Has anyone determined a way to read email sent to a .mac alias through the iPhone? I'm only seeing messages sent to my primary email address. When I try to add the alias as a separate account on the phone, it is rejected by the mail.mac.com server.
    Thanks!

I have sucessfully set up my .mac alias (using .mac mail).
First make a note of your primary account information:
    Username & password
    Incoming mail server
    Outgoing mail server
    Ports etc...
You will be applying these settings to your new account.
    On iPhone go to:
    * Settings/mail/add account/choose "other".
    * Sellect type: imap
Name the account (name you want to appear in "from" field of email).
Type in your .mac alias address.
Description: Name of mailbox (i.e. personal, work).
Incoming mail server (enter info from your primary account):
    * Host Name: mail.example.com (or mail.mac.com)
    * Your primary account username
    * Your primary account password
Outgoing mail server (enter info from your primary account)
In my case, for out going mail server I am using:
    smtp.att.yahoo.com, port: 465
    My username & password
Now, on my iPhone mail, I can select which account to send & receive from.
    Personal or work.
Works for me, hope it does for you!

  • Question marks at end of each line in messages sent with 10.4.6 mail

Some Outlook users are finding ?s at the end of each line in my emails sent from 10.4.6. I did not have this problem in 10.3.9. The problem appears to be resolved when I choose UTF-8 message encoding. There appears to be no way to make Mail automatically choose UTF-8, and I am reluctant to enter Terminal to direct Mail to do so as suggested in one discussion. So 3 questions: 1. how do I get Mail to choose UTF-8 automatically? 2. why hasn't Apple fixed this? 3. how friendly is UTF-8 to non-Outlook users? I don't want to make a change in Terminal so that all email goes UTF-8 and then find out that this messes something else up. Help?

So 3 questions: 1. how do I get Mail to choose UTF-8
    automatically?
See this note. Perhaps you would be more comfortable with the "dingbat" fix.
    http://homepage.mac.com/thgewecke/woutlook.html
    2. why hasn't Apple fixed this?
I don't know. Perhaps they are tired of adjusting their stuff to conform to bugs in MS products.
    3. how
friendly is UTF-8 to non-Outlook users?
All modern mail clients can read it fine, but webmail is unpredictable. Best thing is perhaps to try it and see if you get any complaints.

  • Font size changes randomly inside mail received (sent with Mac Mail)

Hello! Here is a random issue on Mac Mail Leopard, seems few people already experimented the issue but no one found a correct solution:
When i send a mail to somebody, we can randomly notice a change of the font size (from 9px to 12px) in the received mail. This appears mostly in sentences after others sentences containing some bold text.
Note that I use the Calibri font, which is correctly set for the whole mail.
Appart from starting to write inside the signature to avoid any problem, i didn't find a way yet to fix that issue. But I imagine that if it would be a bug in the software, Apple would have fix it for decades ?..
So anyone could give an explanation? Thank u!

Thanks baltwo and Tom. I'll try sending as a PDF file as well.
Also, I did a test per Tom's instructions about reformatting text. First, I copied text from another email and then pasted it in a new message. I highlighted all the text where I wanted to increase the text size and left one paragraph unchanged.
I sent the email to the recipient that's having these issues where she replied back with my forwarded email.
All the text where I increased the point size shrunk and the text that I left alone was actually okay - Weird! I also noticed that the font style changed on their end. By the way, the recipient uses Microsoft Outlook as their email browser.

  • Messages Sent With .Jpeg's From Mail-Receive On PC's,Smaller Than When Sent

We seem to have an issue when we send .Jpeg's from Mac Mail, all our systems are up to date and are all very new.
*Basically when we drop a pic from desktop into a new mail message in Mac Mail and/or create a new mail message from iPhoto with an attached image from iphoto, it shows up fine in the message body and is at full resolution e.g Very Large.*
*After sending the mail to a recipient on a PC, the recipient receives the message in their mail program ( something like outlook ) and when they view the message it shows up as a small .Jpeg embedded*
And when I mean small its small like almost unreadable.
Any one got any ideas ? - I dont want to send emails as plain tex, only rich tex cause we have html signatures that need to look cool.
    Cheers.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Have you set the size of the jpeg in the new message window?

  • UTL_TCP Message sent as plain text arrives as html.

    Hi
I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this.
I'm using UTL_TCP to send a multipart mime message, basically a plain text email with an html attachment. I have sent this to different users, who have internet webmail ( eg yahoo) or just standard Microsoft Outlook. For some of them, the email and attachement is received fine. For others, they receive a blank email and the body text of the email is contained in a seperate attachment. Is this something to do with the configuration of their email server or the client they are using?
    Regards
    Salim

    Tom,
What I see is only different from what you report in this regard: if preferences are set to use RTF, and begin to compose, the font shown as you type is that selected in the Message font entry of preferences, and is rich text. If you then stop, and make a font change, say to use a another color, and continue to type, only the new text will be that color, and no change to what you have already typed (unless highlighted when the color is changed). When you then send the message, the entire text typed as outlined above will be in Rich Text, and only the portion typed after the color change will be that color. But if you only type in RTF without the color (or font) change, the resulting message will be displayed by Mail as Plain Text, whereas all will be in RTF in the second case.
Thus it is the addition or act of making a second font that triggers the conversion to HTML, including that text typed from the first prior to a separate font selection.
Furthermore, if preferences to compose are set to use RTF, and you are using a Signature containing another font, then the message, when sent, retains the rich text that displays as you type, without using any buttons to change any fonts.
