Messages start blue then turn green

I am sending messages to a person who has a new iphone4s so my messages should be blue and not counting towards my text. They start out blue then turn green getting sent as a text instead of iMessage

Well they have to tell you what their apple id email is. You can simply select their email from the contacts list, or manually enter it in the "To:" field. It should also turn blue once the iMsg servers verify it.

QT playing video a few seconds then turns green

I've tried a bunch of things but still can't fix this problem. When playing back a quicktime file either streaming or downloaded, video plays a few seconds then turns green and starts using a lot of system resources. I'm using Nvidia video card and have no problems playing any other types of media. Is this a problem with codec or QT7 and graphics card?

Always best for initial first time startup, to do it with just one RAM stick in the primary blue dimm slot. A couple thoughts, first is use just the one RAM stick & load the OS & all the drivers, then add the other sticks. The other thought is to try each RAM stick individually in the primary slot to rule out a bad or failing stick.

Make sure that your date and time settings and time zone are accurate (Settings - General - Date and Time). Reset your phone to 'Set Automatically' and then try signing in again - this worked for me. My date/time settings were not automatic (candy crush cheats!!).

Blue messages are iMessages. Dont worry they work pretty much the same as txts
Instead of being sent via the sms service through your operator they're sent either as cellular data or wifi if you have it. The idea being that it functions in much the same way as BBM does on a Blackberry.
You can IIRC turn them off.
iOS 5 automatically determines if the intended recipient is using iOS5, and if they are, automatically sends the message as an iMessage rather than a txt. The colour change is designed to let you know whats what.

Shows error message when starting up, then turns off

Hi, my ipod shows the apple when I restart it, then shows the folder with the exclamation point then shuts off. Also, the computer won't recognize it. Since it doesn't show up on the iTunes or the Finder, is there anything I can do?

I'm not sure why the device is like that, but if your iPad is freezing cold, don't try to do anything with it until it warms up to room temperature. Once it warms up, if you still see the blue screen and it goes back to black when you try to start it up, try this.
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

Starts and then turns off!

Ok so my Macbook will start up I see the apple and then it turns off before it loads, I've tried resetting the PRAM the SMC and the ctrlapplepowerbutton and noen of i works, I hold down Option and I can choose to boot from CD or windows but if i click that it shuts down. The only way the computer stays on is in Target Mode. Anyone know what I can do. My warranty is up and i can't afford to have them just look at it just yet.

I know my Mac is old, but it works just fine. It's just that even though the battery is full, and all the indicators tell me it is, if the power cord happens to fall off (it's the magnetic one), the whole Mac dies suddenly, doesn't save anything that's open at the time and requires a hard boot to get going again, and only if the cord is plugged. I'm assuming my battery is old anyway, as before this started, it hadn't held the charge for more than an hour. Am I better off replacing the entire machine or replacing the battery and cord and hope that works?

G5 stuck at start up then turns off

Any help here appreciated. Turn on my G5, chimes, apple appears, stays stuck with spinning boot up icon and then shuts down. Any ideas as to where to start?? Or should I just take it in? Read something about Pram battery, but have no idea as to where to even look for it.

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing with my (old) Dual 2.0 here! Mine started randomly shutting off without warning. So I took it to the Apple store and they replaced the the power unit, which took they did at no cost! I got it back and now there's no start-up chime, just the logo and spinning gear for a few seconds then it turns off. After multiple calls to apple I was convinced that I was insane. I haven't heard a good explanation as to why this is other than "It's an old machine"!
I have a really old Mac G4 400 that has been on, in my garage for at least 4 years now and has never had any problems, even in the intense Texas heat, so it seems that "Planned Obsolescence" and greed are the culprit here. I guess it's time to pony up and buy a new one for double the price. Who says capitalism doesn't work!
I am an artist that has been using macs for 25 years and apple has clearly been blinded by the profit of pop culture. Which is fine if that is where they want to take the company, as a stockholder I don't have a problem with that. However when quality begins to suffer we're all screwed!

Airport Disk starts and then turns off

We see this problem occasionally and I have no idea why. I will get up in the morning and even though the Extreme is on, the USB disk that is attached is now off. I then push the button on the drive (a WD 500GB MyBook) and it starts to spin up and then shuts itself down again after a few seconds. It never mounts or anything anywhere.
Now if I take that same USB disk connected locally through USB, then everything is fine. Usually an Airport Extreme reboot fixes this, but it is annoying in general. Is there anyway to fix this?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Imessage off but bubble flashes blue then green

HI Guys, it's a long story but my Mrs promised me that she never has imessage turned on. (Due to infedelity and a condition of our staying together)
Now recently I have noticed that when I send an sms to her it will flash up blue then go green. I didn't think anything of it until a friend said that it's because imessage has been turn on and then off and my phone thinks is still on until it can't send then it sends as a normal sms.
Pretty lost as I can't find any other info on it.

No it means your iphone recognize that the message your sending to is an iphone and will start it as blue and then when imessage is unavailable it will send it as a text message.
I have a friend who had a iphone - lost it and is using a flip phone with the same number - when I send him a text it will try to send it as an imessage then it switch over and send it as a text.

I (& my brother) have the same issue when facetiming my sister. She's got an iphone 4s (updated to the current iOS) & my brother & I have iphone 4. The call connects, we see her for a couple of seconds, then it goes all blocky & green screens & drops the call. My brother has also tried on his ipad & gets the same issue, only it reboots the ipad (but it doesn't seem to do that with our phones).
Have had a quick look online but haven't found anything.... only a video that someone posted (which shows what I've described above!)

I turned my iphone5 off now it won't turn back on, it keeps giving me the loading sign then will turn on then the screen goes blue and turns off again and it repeats that! What should I do?

I turned my iPhone off because it was being slow. I went to turn it back on and it WON'T turn back on. It will do the loading to turn back on then show me the apple that its back on then the screen turns blue then turns off and goes to the loading page. What should I do? It's been like this for a hour now..

Screen display turned green!

Help anyone! After 1 year of use, my E 52's display started blinking just a few minutes ago and then turned green! Imagine a tv with the picture tube busted Any clues? I'll bring it in for evaluation later when the Nokia store opens for bisuiness Meanwhile, boo hoo hoo...

Is that an aluminum LCD model? There is only a white backlight; all colors are produced by red, green and blue liquid crystal filters in the screen. I suppose there is a possibility of control circuitry in the display gone bad for red/blue, but hard to troubleshoot or fix.
Along with the other tips, can you try the display on another computer? Re-seat all display cabling and graphics cards. Reset NVRAM and PRAM. Boot from the OSX install DVD. What Mac is it on?

What do I do if my iPhone 4s screen turns green?

My iPhone 4s first totally lost capabilities for one day, I charged it, and then it worked. A few days later, it shut down like this again and I was unable to turn it on. My screen then turned green and has now resorted back to where it has no power, although the screen is on. I have tried charging and restoring it with no luck. Please offer suggestions/solutions.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the above does not resolve the issue, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
