Messages won't automatically preview received pictures?

When I had OSX 10.8, the messages app showed recieved pictures that were attached to images automatically. Now I have 10.9 and I have to select the name of the image and hit the spacebar to actually see it.. Is there a way to change this?

I have no problems in seeing inline pictures sent from other computers or from my iPhone.
There is also no setting to view the pic when they are displayed as yours are.
However I sometimes see a chat displayed that way when reopened (File Menu > Recent Items) and also when the File Transfer has failed (clicking the spyglass opens the File Transfer window and double clicking there will sometimes display it in Preview).
I have seen one other post on this so far and do not have enough info yet to suggest a cause.

We need to get your pictures working! Do you have the data connection turned off? Do you have MMS turned on? You can check by going to: Settings>Messages>MMS Messaging. Let us know!

IMessage won't send or receive pictures

iMessage won't send or receive pictures, no matter how big or small they are. Not issue sending pics from iphone or ipad. if i access the file transfer window, it shows the following message below each picture that did not go out:
NSURLSession error: The operation couldn't be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error - 1200.) ((null))
Any ideas?
This issue started a few days ago, no changes in SW or HW ever since, so not sure what is going on.

Try zipping/Compressing the files or pic first.
Other people are having the issue and the zipping is the only work around we have discovered so far.

Screensaver won't automatically bring up picture from my iphoto since I switched to Mountain Lion. Any suggestions on how to get it to work. My photos are located on an external hard drive that I keep connected to my laptop.

My screensaver won't automatically bring up pictures from my iphoto albums as it always did in the past since I installed Mountain Lion. I do use an external hard drive to save all my pictures and music on that is always connected to my MacBookPro. Any suggestions what I may be doing wrong. I find it frustrating to have to set it daily as I close my computer down every night.

Back up all data.
Quit System Preferences if it's open.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Inside it there should be one or more files with a long name beginning with "com.apple.screensaver." Move those files to the Trash. Set your screensaver preferences and see whether they stick.

There is no way possible for your iphone to delete message by itself.
If your having issue with text - contact your cell phone provider as texting is a carrier feature.

New iPhone 4S on Verizon won't send or receive picture messages.

Its a brand new iPhone 4S 16GB on Verizon and ive reset it in iTunes like 3 times, called iPhone support line, took it to verizon, and then to the Apple store. All no luck. I can't replace the phone due to my parents being out of town... for 3 weeks. Anyone have any suggestions? Ive tried turning on and off stuff and reseting and still nothing.

SMS & MMS are carrier features, is your iPhone provision to use MMS by your carrier?
You have to check with them.

Why won't iMessage send/receive PICTURES through my iPad, iPhone, and MacPro on Wifi?

Won't automatically print received faxes?

Hi all,
I turned on the fax option on my powerbook G4 today. I can send and receive faxes fine. The problem is that when I receive a new fax, it doesn't print. I checked off the box in fax and print setup to automatically print any received faxes, but it doesn't. The printer is hooked up to the airport extreme base station like it has always been. I can manually open the received fax and then print it out, but it is supposed to print out automatically when the fax is received. I already tried unlocking the padlock and resetting the print automatically setting, but it didn't make any difference. Can anyone help with this? I really need this to work.

I got it to work finally. I didn't realize that you had to specify the printer in two places in the fax preferences. Now it is working fine.

Viber won't send or receive pictures, just text.

Lightroom Presets Won't Auto Preview

I've had this issue recently where my Presets won't automatically preview like they used to. I've tried switching back and forth between Library and Develop, but no help. I'm forced to apply a preset and then remove if I don't like.
Any thoughts?

Why won't my iPhone 5 send or receive picture messages?

I recently purchased a new iPhone 5 on Vodafone, since I've had it I've been unable to send or receive picture messages.
I have rang Vodafone several times and each time they reset and send through the correct settings to my phone. Each time also not being successful.
I spoke with a lady from Vodafone this morning and she claimed it was a problem with the iPhone 5 model and not being able to pick up 3G aswell as the 4/4S models.
This massively disappoints me as I love the apple products and was looking forward to upgrading to the 5, now I wish I stuck with the 4S.
Will there be an update or some kind of instruction to fix this issue?

No, it doesn't have anything to do with picking up 3G at all. I sent at least 5 pictures back and forth last night on my iPhone 5 with another person who has an iPhone 5.
You do have MMS turned on? And you are connected to cell data?

Messages Won't Send/Receive Pictures Until I ...

Messages on my Mac will not send or receive pictures. After much troubleshooting I tried turning off Little Snitch and now all is well, almost.
I have 2 rules set in Little snitch to block connections from IMTransferAgent.xpc to domains amazonaws.com and windows.net. When I turn off blocking the connection to windows.net it allows the pictures to come & go.
This remiinds me of the billboard I saw a while back where John Wayne is saying "Will someone please explain to me why the h-ll I have to press 1 for English?" So for me it's, "Will someone please explain to me why the h-ll I have to allow a connection to windows.net to send a picture from my Mac to my iPhone?"

Just because the server name appears to have .windows in the title does not mean it is a Microsoft server.
On the other hand don 't ask me why Apple named one of their servers with "windows" in the name.
I have the full name as mschi000007.blob.core.windows.net
The Network Utility and Whois tab is not particularly helpful in saying more.

Mail won't automatically apply rules to messages in "sent" folder

The title says it all. Is this a bug? Mail lets you set rules for items in the "sent" folder, but apple won't automatically apply the rules like it will for all other mail. You must highlight your "sent" messages and click "apply rules." This is quite annoying. Am I missing something.

Once you send an e-mail it gets time stamped, from what I know this timestamp can't be modified. I too have received e-mails with the wrong timestamp. In some mail clients such as Yahoo Mail and Gmail what will happen is that you will get a new message notification but the email won't be at the top of the inbox but rather somewhere down the list. This happens as e-mails are sorted by their timestamps when they arrive to your inbox.
