Messages won't send to one person?

I have an iPhone 4 and my messages will not send to my friend. She does not have an iPhone. I can receive her messages but she won't get mine. It's been this way for weeks. I've tried everything. Deleted our messages, deleted her number and just typed the number in a new message thread. I've tried blocking and unblocking her. I reset the network settings. I've read multiple forums and tried everything. Someone please help me.

It is a new problem, not a reply to any...
I wonder I dont get text reply optiona at all to my saved contacts, i can  only call them. But of unsaved contacts i get both options call and SMS,
Screen shot attached, Any help!!!

  • Text Messages won't send to one person...HELP!

For the last 2 days when I send my bf a text he doesn't receive it,  I get the messages he sends me. We have no problems calling each other.  He has an android and sprint service and I have an iPhone 4s and Verizon.  I have tried everything, removing his contact and re-adding it, even a reset on my phone.  He used to have an iPhone and has unregistered his number per Verizon suggestion, and still not working.  I have turned off my iMessages.  I can text him via google voice, and is the only person I am having this issue with, we checked to make sure neither number is blocked, it just doesn't make any sense!!
    Can anyone help?

Thank you for your inquiry. I do agree with the postings from the members. If someone has blocked you from calling or texting, it would be the cause of what you are experiencing. However, calling the carrier will not change the decision to remove the block. If you blocked some from calling or texting you, would you want that same person to be able to call your service provider to remove the block you placed on your line? If so, I suggest you not seek to restore the connection until you know the other person wishes to allow the calls or text to go through. They opted to have the connect blocked for the time being at their personal discretion.

  • Messages won't send to one person at a certain time?

I try to text my girlfriend every morning, but yesterday, it stopped saying delivered on my iMessages to her and I wouldn't get any response. This was at 8:00, and I tried telling her later at 11:00 what happened and it worked. What's going on!?

    What kind of messages?
    You didn't say.
    Email?
    SMS?
    BBM?
    MMS?
    PIN?
Could you please provide any other particulars or details?

  • IMessages won't send to one person, no message notifications.

Okay so last night my messages app showed that I had one unread message, but all of my messages were open. I figured it would just go away, so I left it alone and went to sleep. I woke up this morning, and it was fine. The little red 1 went away. About an hour later, I went to text someone, and when i opened my messages app, all of my texts were deleted, but one name was still there with no messages. The time was 2 minutes before I checked it. I tried to iMessage the person back, but it wouldn't ever "deliver." So I text my father, who has an iPhone, and it went through and he text me back. I called the person who was trying to text me and told them to text me. I recieved their iMessage, but it still wouldn't let me reply. It would let me double click and send as a text message, though. The person said it showed up on their phone as an iMessage. I can deal with having to manually send it as a text, but now when they reply, I dont get a notification for it.
I can not turn off my phone or try to restart it because my lock button is broken and I don't know how else to turn it back on. If you know of any way tp resolve this, please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Text messages won't send to one specific contact

Ok, I've searched for this problem, have seen it several times, but haven't come up with a solution.
My texts appear as "text message not sent" on every text that I send to this contact; I've never had any problems texting this person before. We are facebook friends and so his number appears twice in his contact, once the way I had originally entered it and again the way it appears on facebook with the +1. I've tried every which way and it just doesn't work. It's not on his end, he still gets texts from people. I tried installing handcents so that I could delete all failed messages and it didn't help. Now i'm stuck. This is a big problem. Don't want to reset my phone or anything, there has to be a fix for this right?
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Messages won't deliver to one person

I'm trying to send a message to my friend who lives out of the country.  It's not saying that my messages are being delivered.  I tried everyone else on my contacts list and it works ok with them.  Does this mean it's an issue with her phone?  I've never had that happen before.

  • Imessage won't send to one person?

My sister got an iphone 5s yesterday and i have had an iphone 4s for about 2 years now. I have always been able to send imessages no problem but recently everyone i know with an iphone has got a new brand of phone so i have no one to imessage anymore. This has only been for a week or so. So yeah my sister got an iphone and she can send imessages to someone she knows with an iphone so her phone is fine and i have reset my settings, turned imessage and my phone on and off etc and we still cannot imessage each other. We both made sure our numbers are in the iphone option and nothing. I feel like it's a fault on my part but i can't test to see if my imessage works on anyone else! How do we fix this?

  • I have a brand new iPad newest version. Wifi. The messaging won't send out but I receive messages from others. What is wrong?

I have the newest version of the iPad (3rd generation) with wifi. The messaging won't send out but I'm receiving messages from others when I'm using it. They also come through on my iphone at the same time. But I can't send them out on the iPad. I tried someone's suggestion of changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and that did not work to fix it. What is wrong with this thing?  Thank you in advance for your help.

Are you trying to send a message to a cell number or an email address?  iPad does MMS, not SMS, meaning it can't send a message to a number.  It can send a message to an email address........

Settings -> Messages -> do you have "Send as SMS" ON?
If not, then your messaging app will be restricted solely to Apple's iMessage service, which only works between iOS devices.

  • My messages won't send

My messages won't send. I have an iPhone 4 with 3G and all day my messages have just been stuck halfway on the bad that shows how far your message is until being sent. Other internet things are working perfectly and I'm at my house with wifi.

  • Messages Won't Send To Non-iPhones!

So I woke up and my messages won't send to non-iPhones but they will to other iMessage users. Then , I go to my dial pad and I can call out to non-iPhones. This freaking ***** and I need it fixed NOW or I am switching back to android.

  • Messages beta won't send to one of my contacts

Just downloaded Messages beta and it works fine except that it won't send iMessages to one of my contacts. She has an iPhone 4S and can receive iMessages from my iPhone4. Messages has no problem sending to my brother, who also has an iPhone 4S. Suggestions?

    Hi,
Are you sending to her Name or her Apple ID ?
On her phone > Settings > Messages > Received At > Caller ID what does she have set ?
Your Phone is probably doing Phone Number to to Phone number (without even looking at the Apple ID) where as Messages is trying an Apple ID you have for her.

  • IMessage will not send to one person...

Ok so I have the iPod 4th generation. It is up to date but heres the problem. I am unable to send an iMessage to a person. I can type it, however, once I press send, I never get the little "delivered" note.Even restarting or resetting internet connection won't help. This is only happening to one person that I regularly message. Everyone else I can message to. The person who I am trying to message has an iPhone 4 and I'm not too sure what happened because we were just talking to each other yesterday. What is wrong? Is it long distance? Is the other person's iPhone not on or doesn't have iMessage not on? My internet connections works excellently. My iMessage is on and the Wi-Fi on my iPod is fine. Everything is in good standings, but my messages to that one person will not deliver (and give me that deliver note)

I was having the exact same problem with just one contact. Did all the resets, etc. I am copy and pasting below what worked for me, it was SO frustrating. Good luck and I hope it works for you.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, deselect all email addresses.
Go back one screen and turn off iMessages. Now go back a screen, and go to FaceTime, deselect all email addresses and turn off FaceTime.
    Wait 5 minutes.
Turn on iMessages, ensuring no email addresses are selected, it should then have your mobile number ticked. Do the same for FaceTime.
We have no idea why this works. It just does.
I would love to know if it solves your problem!

  • Bonjour Messages won't send a message sometimes. What could be wrong?

Sometimes, when I'm using Bonjour Messages, my message will send, but the person I'm sending a message to won't receive said message. What could be wrong?
I'm running on Mountain Lion, by the way.

Found this via Onno's link above, which made it work for me:
"Although list expansion normally do work, I now see the case it apparently caught was that lists where the list description is set to a multi word description -> the description is quoted -> the list expansion fails."

  • My I messages won't send. Any ideas ?

All of a sudden my I messages will not go through. It says it was sent, and within a second it says it was not sent. When I retry, it still won't send. These messages are to a person that I text all the time, so I know it did work. Any ideas?

Then to answer your original question, "Yes."  The Apple Store Genius Bar can help you.
