Messaging 2.0.5 (E52) cannot use non-US characters...

I posted also this issue in the E-series category, hoping anyone will give a solution.
This is the most frustrating limitation in the new Nokia Messaging 2.0. I upgraded from E60 because I wanted the new email and messaging, only to find that together with the improvements (like using other folders besides the Inbox),While I can write an email message using T9 in my language (romanian) which works fine and uses romanian characters, after the message is sent, it simply could not be read at the destination because all non-US characters are replaced with the "?" character. The old Mail for Exchange from E60 worked so well here! So I cannot use T9 prediction and I am forced to use only US characters in order to compose an email message! Note that reading non-US characters from received emails is working fine (well, almost... if the message is using the old incorrect characters from Windows XP - ş and ţ with cedilla, corrected in Vista and Windows 7 - ș and ț with comma. I hope Nokia will follow Microsoft and correct the characters, too).
Other account types (tested yahoo and gmail) do not have this problem, only Exchange.

Did it work with T9 romanian characters on the previous device with Mail for Exchange client?
This seems to be a UTF-9 issue. Would you be able to test it with a different Exchange account like mail2web.com?
It might also be an Exchange Server issue.

I want to use non English characters (Greek characters) for folders of the URLs.
eg   http://www.mysite.com/Φάκελος/index.cfm
where "Φάκελος" is a non English word (Greek).
When the called page is simple HTML eg   www.mysite.com/Φάκελος/index.HTM
it's displayed just fine.
When the called page is CF page eg   www.mysite.com/Φάκελος/index.CFM
I get a "FILE NOT FOUND" error.
In the page where the link exists everything is UTF-8.
What's the problem ? Can't CF use non English characters in URLs ????
It's critical for SEO issues.
I use CF9. Any ideas ???

I don't have this setting in the email application. But as I know, html with Exchange is working only with the 2007 version, my server is still 2003 so I think in my case it's plain text only.
But I'm telling again: good old (and now starting to miss) E60 with MfE worked very well!

My Firefox cannot display non-English characters, even though I have tried every language encoding I have!

I am a big fan of Japanese songs and websites, so I was very disappointed when I saw that Firefox could not handle any non-English characters. I have tried every encoding I can, but none work and I just see boxes with numbers and letters inside. I have only just got this older laptop for my birthday - my old laptop which ran Windows Vista and had Firefox 4 had no trouble at all. Please help me!

Cannot use non .mac email in .mac account

when i open the preferences for my .mac account in MAIL, the "email address" is my .mac addres but i want it to be another address. when i change to the other address MAIL automatically puts my .mac address back in, so all my outgoing emails say the email is from my .mac address.
can this be fixed?

No it can't be fixed.
Apple prevents entering a different email address in the email address field for .Mac account preferences to appear as the sending email address for messages sent with a .Mac account as part of an overall effort to prevent spam emanating from .Mac's domain since spammers provide a bogus sending or return email address by doing the same.
You can enter a different Reply To Address by adding a Reply To address field for the message header but requires manually entering the chosen reply to email address for each sent message.

Linux or Java? :Cannot display non english characters

Finally, my problem is my application does not display non english chracaters like "� ş � ğ � i" in GUI after triggering translation.However, if i do not use ResourceBundle and instead assign directly the turkish match for that label (i.e. label.setText("şşşşş")), GUI successfully displays turkish characters. what may be the problem?
ps : i am using redhat linux8.0, j2sdk1.4.1. current locale = "tr_TR.UTF-8". in /etc/sysconfig/keyboard , keyTable = "trq". There seems no problem for me as i can input and output
turkish characters. OS supports this. Also jvm gets the current encoding from OS.It seems as if there is a problem in reading properties file in inappropriate encoding.

I've found a lot of guides about how to enable characters in Linux, and that is easy enough, but I want to understand it better.
The way that I understand it, if you don't enable a given set of characters in locale.gen, then in theory you should not be able to either use or display a that set of characters in any programs (however, certain programs, like web-browsers seem to have work arounds).
Furthermore, in order to be able to type characters in X programs, you need to enable those keyboard setups in your xorg.conf (in addition to enabling those locales in locale.gen). I don't think that this effects the displaying of characters
Then, Last, you need a way to switch back and forth between different keyboard layouts within your X environment in order to type those characters. There are programs to assist in switching keyboard layouts provided by some DE's. By using these keyboard layout tools, I alter the behaviour of all programs started in X. (for example, swithing keyboard layouts in gnome's settings will alter the behaviour of kde programs, firefox and openoffice.)
How close am I?
A few more questions:

Htp buffer error when using non-ascii characters

Hello, and my question:
When I issue the following command, 10000 times to print on web it works well:
htp.prn('<a>this is a test</a>');
But when I issue this command by just substituting "this is a test" with characters that their ASCII codes are between 128 to 255, I can not print more than 100 times and I get htp buffer error!
could you please solve this puzzle for me?

Text Messaging in Japanese (or other language with non-Roman script)

Is it possible to send/receive text messages written in non-Roman characters with Verizon?
More specifically, I'm using a Droid 2 with Verizon, and I'm trying to text a friend in Japanese. She has an iPhone (AT&T), and is physically in the U.S. (so I'm not asking about international text messaging). I've already installed apps on my Droid (e.g. OpenWNN, or Simeji) to input Japanese, which work fine in and of themselves, and the Droid of course displays Japanese text or other languages just fine on the Browser or in E-mails.
However, I'm having lots of trouble with Text Messaging. When I send a message containing Japanese text (typed in perfectly fine with OpenWNN or whatever), she either never gets the message, or the text comes out unreadable (as ???????). Messages with a mix of Roman and non-Roman characters typically show the Roman characters ok, but the non-Roman ones (i.e. Japanese) are garbled. If she sends me a message containing any non-Roman characters, I generally don't get the message at all (i.e. not even garbled-- just no message at all). This deficiency seems to be specific to Text Messaging, as far as I can tell. I can send and receive e-mails containing Japanese just fine, read foreign language web pages, and type in Japanese into search boxes on those web pages and so on with the Droid. However, sending an e-mail message to (myphone#)@vtext.com, predictably, results in any Japanese text being garbled, though Roman characters come through just fine.
Is this perhaps something specific to Verizon's network? Or is text messaging in non-Roman scripts just inherently impossible? My friend says she knows others who can successfully text in non-Roman scripts (e.g. Korean Hangul, Japanese Kana or Kanji), and claims some of these folks are Verizon customers too. A search on droidforums.com yielded someone who supposedly could text in Korean within Verizon. So, I'm hoping this is possible, and I'm just missing something. However, this is perhaps all secondhand information and rumor.
(Incidentally, I know for certain that messaging with non-Roman scripts is possible in general. During my last vacation in Japan, I rented a phone there, and could send messages in English or Japanese scripts. However, I believe the phones there actually have their own e-mail addresses, and so the service there is more like regular e-mail-- my understanding is that text messaging as we know it in the U.S. is a distinct technology, though I could well be wrong.)
So, to restate my question: is it possible to text message with non-Roman scripts with Verizon? Has anyone out there done this successfully-- if so what did you do, or what app did you use? Or is it in fact impossible? (e.g. Maybe text messaging here only uses 7 or 8 bits, instead of 14 or 16 needed to encode all the various Asian, European, and other scripts?)

I'm trying to figure this out as well, but my understanding on the matter is that Verizon's CDMA network uses unicode which will display, roman characters, loa, thai, and serveral other languages, but not hirigana, kanji, katakana, or simplified or traditional chinese. The Romaji should work however. It would be nice to hear some input from a Verizon rep on the subject, because like you my info is all second hand.
If my understanding is correct, the simple answer is no, it's not possible.

Acrobat 9 Pro Error 148:3 You cannot use this product at this time

Am running XP Pro SP3 with Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended. Until I installed Comodo antivirus software yesterday, Acrobat worked fine. Now when I open Acrobat I get an error message similar to this: “You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair this problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contact your IT . . . (148:3).” Then when I click OK, Acrobat shuts down.
I’ve tried the Licensing fixes found at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405970.html but fixes didn’t work. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now when I try to install updates, it looks like it’s installing but at the end the installation says it failed.
Any ideas on how to resolve my problem? Thank-you.

Bill, you're correct and thanks for your help. In my particular case, Acrobat Pro was working fine until I upgraded Comodo (from the green/white shield to the red shield). Thnking it was an Acrobat problem, I uninstalled Acrobat Pro and reinstalled Acrobat Pro with Comodo turned off. Still got the "148:3" error msg. Solution, I uninstalled Comodo and restarted the computer. Then updated Acrobat Pro, there were two updates. Restarted computer. Then installed Comodo. Everything now works fine.

Non english characters innavigation menu like "ä" on others servers then .m

In iLife06 iWeb used insane names on html files when I used non engelsh characters.
In iLife08 it keeps the characters like Frågor.html but it does not work when running on a non-.Mac server.
The generated file is:
Frågor.html
The problem is when you have a item in the navigation bar,
The request get translated to :
Fr%C3%A5gor.html
And you get the error message:
The requested URL /FrÃ¥gor.html was not found on this server.
I tried to change the name in iWeb to Fragor and then correct it in the file Feed.xml (so the user would read the corract name) but then I just get Fr?gor
I tried to pu .htacces file in rott on my server directory with the UTF-( comamnd but nothing works.
Except for the navigation meny I can get around it.

Could you provide your url?
It seems like things should work if you change to Fragor and then republish and reupload.
If your server won't accept these kinds of names, it may not be possible to have them presented totally correctly to the viewer.

Non-English characters in URL for rwservlet

I'm having a problem when I try to use non-english characters in a URL request to generate a report.
This works fine:
http://...rwservlet?report=r1.jsp&m1=Fred
But if I try FrÃ©d (e with accent graph) the report does not return any data even though the SQL by itself would find data.
I tried UTF-8 encoding
http://...rwservlet?report=r1.jsp&m1=Fr%C3%A9d
8859-1 encoding
http://...rwservlet?report=r1.jsp&m1=Fr%E9d
Or just spell it out (not sure what that gets encode as):
http://...rwservlet?report=r1.jsp&m1=FrÃ©d
But noting works. Any ideas?

2) Make a paramform and enter via paramform (unencoded)

Non latin characters in Safari search

In Safari 6 the search and URL fields are combined. That's fine, except...
We can no longer search using non-Latin characters, because the field accepts only Latin characters. I was trying to search for a Japanese term, and when I switch to Hiragana input and move to the search field, the input switches back to English.
What's the workaround??

The problem has gone away. I suspect it was a problem with corrupted prefs. I trashed the Safari prefs and rebooted to clear another problem and no longer have the problem with search using Japanese characters.
FWIW, the problem I had when I trashed the prefs was with trying to mail a Safari page. I ran in to this originally a week or two ago and called Apple who told me to delete the Safari prefs and reboot. (Actually they gave an alternate procedure to try first, but I didn't bother.) That appears to be a recurrent problem and since there was no hesitation on the solution when I called I would guess that it will be fixed in an early patch. I had already tried trashing the mail prefs since that's where the problem actually appeared (an extra copy of Mail would open, and then hang) but it was in fact the Safari prefs that was causing the problem. I've had to do the delete-and-reboot routine every few days. Not sure why the reboot is required, but it obviously is since just quitting Safari or even logging out doesn't fix it.

How to add non English characters

I install weblogic 10.3.3.0, SOA Suite 11.1.1.2, and SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 on Windows 2008 (English version). The Location of Regional and language option is set to local place. I also add non-Unicode.
I can add new holiday rules using non English characters in the BPM workspace. Then, I shutdown my computer as normal. However, after I restart my computer and weblogic domain as well as SOA Suite 11g. The non English characters become ??????
