Sometimes my ipod gen 5 display white screen when i choose to see a photo , was it broken ?

    Likely a corrupted photo file:
    Try:
    - Importing the proplem photos to your computer and viewing them
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Backup and then restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Safari displays white blank page

I'm using OSX 10.8.5 on Macbook pro Intel Core 2 Duo.
Since almost a year ago, I didn't see pages in Safari, it display white blank screen but it has contents.
Safari loaded contents, but it didn't render contents into page.
I found that, Safari update entry of 'com.apple.afari.plist' file in the Preference folder and it cause Safari fail to render pages.
    When Safari start, it changes
              <key>com.apple.Safari.ContentPageGroupIdentifier.WebKit2AcceleratedCompositingEnabled</key>
    entry to
    <false/>
and next time I start Safari, white blank page displayed.
    If I change
              <key>com.apple.Safari.ContentPageGroupIdentifier.WebKit2AcceleratedCompositingEnabled</key>
    entry to
    <true/>
and start Safari, I can see pages well, but I can't stop Safari to update the value to false.
Any solutions to solve this issue ?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • App Store 'Update' only displays white screen

Even though it indicates that there are updates for 2 installed apps, the 'update' function in App Store only displays a blank white screen. Nothing is displayed and there are no options to actually install the updates.
It has previously worked fine but suddenly decided to just show a blank screen.
    Any thoughts or ideas?

  • Why does the website display white blank pages only?

    Hello:
I use Firefox 13.0.1 on a Mac OS X, and I often go to www.wenxuecity.com for news. But, in the past couple of days, when I type in that address in the URL window, only a white blank page shows up. Nothing else! If I use Google to find direct links to a few news items at that website and click the links, I also get white blank pages. No error message or anything else.
Could you tell what is going on here?
    Many thanks!

Is the page completely blank or is there still some content visible?

When I dial my number I can hear the phone ringing but the phone is displaying anythingonly a white screen. The touch screen is working fine. Please help !!!
    Solved!

Unfortunately, due to the age of this phone, we no longer provide the possibility to update the software.
You might consider contacting our local office to see if they can take a look, although of course the phone is outside the warranty, they may be able to offer alternatives.

  • IPod Touch displaying white screen

I went on an app [called My Horse] and it displayed the loading screen like usual, then it froze like it has before, usually resetting the my ipod works to fix it. I set it down gently to let it load, and it suddenly displayed a white screen, then a opaque black overlay went over the light.
I tried holding the lock/unlock and the home button for at least two minutes, and it still didn't do anything.
I hooked it up to itunes, itunes doesn't register the fact that it's plugged in.
Any ideas of what's wrong? Is it completly dead?
It's not jailbroken and nothing has been messed with, I usually only visit wikipedia and twitter and use it for listening to pandora on it.
It's been sitting on a white screen for a while now
I really don't want to reset it, and I couldn't anyway because itunes won't register it as plugged up.

Try the white-screen topic of the following. However, it is frequently a hardware problem.

  • Boots up but displays white screen

I was browsing when all of a sudden my screen turned white. I powered down and turned it on again, and all that comes up is a white screen. No apple logo or spinning wheel. However, the chime does sound. My attempt to blindly log on was successful, and after randomly pressing the trackpad, was able to play an audio file. So, the computer boots and everything, just nothing shows up on the display. I have tried resetting the PRAM, SMC, safe mode, booting from DVD--no luck. Unfortunately, I am 6 months past warranty (of course!) so am trying to figure this out without having to call apple. Can anyone help me please? I am a student, and with finals coming up, desperately need my files and laptop. Thanks!!

    Hi..
just nothing shows up on the display
    Try Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters
If all you see is a white screen, then it's not booting.
Try starting up while holding down the Option key. That should prompt the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk.
I hope you have all your important files backed up.

  • I always get a black screen & error message with YouTube, white screen on Facebook videos.

I always get a black screen & error message with YouTube. White screen on Facebook videos. I am using Firefox 17.0.1.
There is no more content to provide.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can check for problems caused by Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • IMac (Intel) only displays white screen with Apple after power-outage

Last week, we had a power-outage.  iMac is plugged into a surge protector. When power was restored, powered up the iMac, but it will not get past the initial white screen with the Apple logo and the spinning black/white wheel.  I have tried shutting down and re-starting, unplugging and re-starting, etc.  Nothing happens.  Ideas?

You HD probably crashed. Please run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode and see if it reports any errors. If it does please post them and we will try to translate them.
Also if your area has power issues I would strongly recommend replacing the surge protector (which is worthless in a power outage) with a UPS. A Uninteruptable Power Supply has a battery in it that is designed to provide enough power in the event of a power outage so the computer can do an orderly shutdown. I recommend the APC brand, you can find UPS's at your local office supply store or even Costco. A good quality one will cost about $100.00 or more.

  • Lenovo G580 displays white screen when turned on

    Hello Team,
My Lenovo G580 is turning white on start. It was working fine, suddenly it flashed a white screen.
In a particular spot a black patch is developing and gets heated up.
    I did
-remove the battery, holded the power button for 30 secs and then turned on with battery.
    But it did not help.
Please help me with the issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi Harsha_28,
    Welcome to the Forums.
If the black patch is similar to the picture below then the issue is most likely with the LCD assembly  - possibly dead pixels (you can verify this by connecting an external monitor via the VGA port).
If you're in India, I recommend you contact Lenovo and report the issue.

  • Hp pavilion g4 1104dx display white screen and caps lock blink twice

Hi i recently used my hp laptop screen to test another laptop acer aspire 5517. After the test i reconnected back the cable only to power it on a white screen appeared with caps lock blink twice. I thought the problem might be screen shot so i decided to connect to external monitor but still no signal on external monitor even after pressing fn+f4. What might be the problem thanks.

Hi there , Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I understand you are having an issue with your Notebook. You had stated that you receive a White Screen and the Caps Lock are blinking twice. Please be very careful when it comes to blink patterns as sometimes there can be a pause between the blinking.   Before you start troubleshooting, please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. Here is the first document I found called Performing a Hard Reset or Forced Reset. If that does not work, please follow Computer Does Not Start (Windows 8). The last document I have for you that may help is called Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps. Please follow these provided troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know how everything went. Thank you! Have a great day!
