Messaging Application does not recognise contact n...

Hi people, My phone is an E70 with 2.0618.07.10 (31-08-06) firmware. I updated it to this firmware via NSU. It had .07 firmware before.The Messaging app. had an annoying problem, which seems to be not fixed with the new firmware.
I set the Contacts app. to show names as "First name Last name". When I send a message, the Messaging app. shows my sent message's recipient correctly as "First Last", but when I receive a message, the sender is shown as "Last First".
I had seen in a forum that western european firmwares do not have this behaviour and set contact preferences correctly.
Does anyone have this problem? Also is there a possibility to explain the problem directly to Nokia sw. engineers bypassing support here in Turkey? (There are also Turkish language related problems in the firmware which should be corrected.)

Hmm. Then if I enter the number manually, it will display the contact name wrong.
This is simply unacceptable. If I set my preference for Contacts (which is one of the primary functions for a phone, it keeps my contacts) the phone should set that for every application on the phone.
Nokia should make this a global setting, which is -looking from a programmer's view- very easy given the complexity of the operating system they managed to write.

I have a few contacs on my phones address book that my phone just will not recognise when they phone or txt me. Ive tried deleting and re saving the number, syncing to google but it just doesnt seem to remember them.

On your computer > access your Gmail > contacts > add the contact > sync your phone
and/o
on your phone > open the phone app > look for the number (whenever they called you) > click on > then Add to Contacts > Create a new contact > enter name/last name > Phone contact or Google contact > open the phonebook > check the filter if phone contacts are set to be displayed or not.

To open a document you must have installed an Android application for it. The file is downloaded but can be opened with Firefox, but with the specific app from Android.
Try installing a documents app and for sure it will work.

Please check if the following suggestions help:
First, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:
1. Click "Start" button, type “devmgmt.msc” (without quotation marks) in the “Search” bar and press "Enter". Click “Continue”
if necessary.
2. In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".
3. Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.
If the issue persists, please check if it can be resolved by running
System File Checker.

You don't need an app. You need couple's counseling. I believe what you want to do may also be illegal in many jurisdictions.

You could add Perian. It may help (...or not).
Wait, you received and audio recording and you are trying to use a video player (vlc) to play it? What kind of file is it? Does it have a filename extension? If it is .wmv then you might want to install Flip4Mac. Then you could play it with QuickTime.

My E71 does not recognise which contact has sent m...

I just got a new E71 and have transferred all my contacts etc over. However when I am sent a new SMS message it will not recognise the contact that sent it to me. The number is exactly the same on both the text and the contact even with the +44 prefix. I have tried move the contact storage locations however this had no effect. I have even tried recreating the contact from the text message but again it wouldn't recognise the contact that had sent the text.
My phone has software update 100.07.76 installed, which I believe is the latest.
This is really annoying me. Can someone please help?

Do you have the list of contacts stored on your phone and your SIM card.
If you have them in two places, then the phone will not know which number relates to who the contact is as it assumes the contact has a different name and therefore presents the number.
You should have the contacts in the SIM or the Phone ONLY. I always keep them in the phone.
If your phone is an unbranded one then the latest firmware is: 210.21.006 even if the software is branded by yoru network operator, I would have thought that there is a newer firmware as the 100.x is the inital release for the handset.

After pressing 'New Analysis' in the Web Analyzer I am getting the message:

This is for a new BW 7.0 install (SPS13) in combination with IE 7.0 (woth IE 6.0 it works fine). I have been using IE 7.0 for almost a year now and had no problems before.
Does anyone know how to solve this? (Besides using IE 6.0)

Ajax is a microsoft toolkit that the web site is using and is not compatible with Safari. They only support I.E. and windows.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Advanced tab. Enable the Develop menu. In the Develop menu select User Agent and then try Internet Explorer 9.

first, you just asked me to use MS file Explorer to see what the properties were.,..and to ask what happened. Yes - that's on my hard drive. The problem I have is opening word files in a DB that is web enabled.....I've used Firefox browser for that, and everything else , for years...... When I look at the Tools, and options on FireFox., as your support page noted.....NOTHING is listed in the Applications tab....hence my note asking for help. You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

I get this message when I try to download a pdf file from a website.

This is a new error. There used to be no problem.

Do you have any setting for MP3 in Tools > Options > Applications ?
You usually need the QuickTime plugin to play MP3 files on Windows because that is the only plugin that supports that file extension if there is no MIME type specified to play the file with another plugin like Windows Media Player or RealPlayer.

Hi everyone, I just received 2 brand new iPod Nanos for my kids for Christmas, thought I'd be smart and sync them both now before wrapping them so I don't have to be messing around with them on the day. One synced without a problem, then using the same cable, same computer, same USB port, the 2nd one came up with "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it" I've tried restarting my computer, unplugging and reinserting the USB. Is there anthing else I can try before returning it? Thanking you for any help.

I have solved my problem, I ended up ringing Apple and got an awesome lady who told me to reset it by pressing the sleep button and menu button together for about 10 seconds and once it actually turned on for the first time the computer then recognised it, so it's all good, :-) Thank you lovely lady!
