Messaging Apps for old ios

Hi,
I recently received an Iphone from a friend of mine so we could text while she's abroad without spending tons of money. But the Iphone is a bit outdated and the ios (4.2.1) can as a result not be updated. This means that i cannot download apps such as whatsapp or viber because they require newer ios updates. I was was wondering if you guys know a messaging app that would work on both old an new ios software.

Not if you use iMessages. iMessages will get sent through the Internet connection just like a whatsapp or vidber message would be.
Have your friend set up an email address for iMessage so you can use it from your iPhone.

My iPad 1 maxed out at iOS 5.1.1. If I want to install a new app with this device ( one I have not ever installed), and the latest app says iOS 7 and above, ithe app store won't let me install an older compatible version, even if older versions used to be previously available .
I think Apple is trying to convince me to buy a Galaxy Tab for my next tablet. They are basically telling me to throw away my old iPad because it is no longer compatible with the newest iOS version 7 on the app store. You want that new app? If the latest version is only ios7 compatible, you're outta luck sukka.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you are not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. Whether an older version of an app is available depends upon the developer.

You are not talking to Apple here, just us users. You can give feedback to Apple if you like, but most companies are unlikely to start giving away core products to everybody.

Overdrive Media Console app for old ipod touch with ios 4.2.1

A friend recently gave me an "old" ipod touch. According to my itunes software, Its os is now up to date with version 4.2.1. I want to download the app for Overdrive Media Console, but current version 4.6.2 of Overdrive requires requires ios 4.3. Is there a way to download an earlier version of the app that will work with my ipod touch? Thanks for your reply.

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Downloading apps for ipod iOS 4.2.1 via windows 8 pc

I have an ipod touch h ios 4.2.1. I got some apps from itunes with my computer, but when I tried to sync them with my ipod, I got an error that i needed a newer version of iOS. is there any way to make itunes only show apps that will work on my ipod?

Best free non Apple "message app" for the iPad?

I have a new wi-fi only iPad and would like to get your input on which of the many "message apps" in the App store is best for just sending text messages? Do not need other features, just want a basic text messaging app that does not cause other problems and will work with Android OS. Your input on this question will be greatly appreciated.

Does this happen immediately after you log in? If so, one of your login items is probably causing it.

I think you did not understand my problem. I don't want to create a new folio and publish it, I want to add some new content to the app that is already in the iOS market. I have created some new articles that I want to add to the already existing folio and so a new update with some new content will appear on the iOS Market.

Creating apps for Apple iOS

Hi all,
I was astonished to see Adobe's german website stating that RoboHelp can create mobile Apps for iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows and Symbian.
From what I understand, only Android is possible at the moment. This works fine for me, I have installed some test projects and am wondering.. is it possible to manually convert the HTML5 output into other OS formats using Phonegap? Originally Phonegap supports the other OS but in the RoboHelp UI only Android settings are available. Has anybody tried this yet?

All iOS apps have to be downloaded from the App Store and my understanding is that you cannot restrict who can download. That is something I will check with someone else. To get the app in the store I understand you will need a Mac machine and a developer, they need to have a licence or some authorisation. If I am correct about who can download, then you are no better off than having the information on a web server and that is an easier solution.

Integrated Messaging App for Windows

Does anyone in the community know if Verizon is working on bringing an integrated messaging app to Windows Phone, or Windows 8? I think the service is wonderful, and have been waiting years to have a product like this. So many times I want to send a URL from my computer to a friend's phone.

I don't know about Integrated Messaging being available on Windows 8... but from your computer (or even any phone) you can use these to send an email and it will arrive as a text message on the recipient's phone.

Mail sending new message notifications for Old Messages

Hi,
Since upgrading to Mavericks I've been having a ton of problems with the Mail App.
I'm running on a Macbook Pro (13-inch Early 2011 Model) with 4gb of RAM and OS at version 10.9
I have Mail connected to two different accounts 1 Gmail and one Exchange. The recently released "Mail Update" has not fixed these issues.
The primary issue is that every time I have Mail open it constantly pops up notification badges to say that I have new messages. In fact it is sending these notifications for messages that are in most cases months old. Moreover even after confirming these the next day it will repeat this for the same exact messages. I've attempted to rebuild the index by deleting the Envelope files in the Library as suggested in another discussion topic. This didn't correct the problem. The result of this beyond the annoyance of having the notifications constantly popping us is it also seem to make my system grind to a halt - while it is parsing these sometime 100's - of notifications.
I believe related to this (but not clear) is that in many cases delivery of messages to my exchange account is very very delayed. I will receive a message on my iPhone Mail app sometimes hours before it syncs into my Laptops Mail app (even with attempts at Manually checking mail.)
Anyone have any suggestions on how to repair this issue?

Try this:
Go into Preferences -> General and uncheck the box that says "Play sounds for other mail actions".
I'm not sure if it will work since that's really still "new" mail, but it might be worth trying.

Develop Apps for Android & iOS with Flash Pro CS6 ?

1. Is able to me to build an Application or Games with Flash Pro CS6 and Publish it to Android phone? also same with iOS?

SCPI Message App For Agilent VNA

Last year I got a new Agilent 5071C VNA. This analyzer is an incredible instrument. Unfortunately the NI driver only communicates with the VNA's main features. Many lesser features that enhance testing are left out of the driver. My only alternative is to programmatically use the analyzers complete features are to use SCPI commands. I have a Labview .vi that works great and achieves all that is needed. I assign a SCPI message into a string variable and all is done without having to work in Labview. Unfortunately I'm no Labview guy and feel exposed should a problem arise.
I would like to convert this .vi or replace it with something that can be supported in LabWindows/CVI.
SCPI messages allow me to almost completely removed all DLL's in my project. My question, is there an already developed DLL that will allow me to pass strings (SCPI Commands) which was written in CVI? A DLL that I can use with TestStand 3.5 or later. If so, point me to the link.
