Messaging Audio Notification Alerts No Longer Working

I've installed the VZ Messenging Desktop app on my Chromebook. I recently stopped getting audio notifications when texts are sent and received. Toggle switches for both of these fields have remained ON. My pop-up notification still works, just the audio doesn't. My speakers work just fine for movie/Youtube playback.
Does anybody have any advise on how to restore audio notifications?

GAVaron74, that sure is interesting! Let's get this figured out for you and get those notifications working for you again. If you haven't already I would recommend uninstalling and then resinstalling the application to see if that will correct the issue. Keep us update with your results.

Messenger notification/alert no longer working

My friend purchased a Verizon Curve a week after I did. His Messenger alert stopped working. He did a clean reset and wiped everything clean. After a week, it stopped working again. It is the only program that the ringtone that is not woking on. He did the typical battery pull. Checked and rechecked the profile. He is technically very savvy, and I guarantee it is not a setting, since he checked them multiple times over. He swears it's a bug. The problem with that is that I have the same phone purchased aweek earlier, and I don't have that problem.

Could be a corrupt software version.
What does he currently have on the device?

The first thing I would try is to update Acrobat 9 to the latest version 9.5.5
The next thing would be to run Acrobat 9 in Windows 7 or Vista or XP Compatibility Mode.

We want you to love your software update pitbullmommy71! When did you update your phone? Have you tried going into phone settings and set up your notifications as you would like them? It can take a few days for your phone to normalize after the update, but this may be a bit much. Some apps may no longer be compatible with the new software so you can try running phone in Safe Mode or do a Hard Reset to see if this improves your phone. I've seen where some have completed a Hard Reset after the update and downloaded all same apps, and phone works flawlessly now. However, if you'd like to try Safe Mode first, (which is where all 3rd party apps are disabled), you can certainly try this for 24 hours to see if improves.

OK. Called my service provider today. Apparently razmee209 was right. Bell/Virgin network is experiencing LTE problems since September and it affects random people all LTE phones. They said they are working on it. And the solution for now is to turn LTE off and keep the phone on 3G network.
Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Dv9ooo series dv9925nr notebook no audio, disk drive no longer works

so i purchased this notebook brand new some years ago from best buy but right after my warrenty went out the audio would not work, then it could not even find the audio hardware installed, shortly after the disk drive no longer worked, so i stopped using because hp wouldnt do nothing about it, well i recently decided to look up the problem and read there was a lawsuit regarding this, i mean we spent 1000.00 for this laptop where 300.00 ones lasted longer and worked better, i have not bought a hp product since because i feel they dont stand behind their products, but i read the amd ones were being replaced, so is hp going to be able to still stand behind that and fix mine too, and what is the issue with it??

Message "Adobe Photoshop is no longer working"

Is anyone else having this problem? I click on the icon for photoshop and the program opens, then a message pops up saying "Adobe Photoshop is no longer working. Windows does not have a solution yet. Please close the window." What do I do with this? Do I need to try and re-install adobe photoshop? This will be the second time there was a problem with it and I had to re[install it. Someone tell me what is the issue. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks Sooci7777

Was Photoshop working before this? Was there an incident that happened post which Photoshop failed to open?

Installed Yosemite - audio line out no longer working

After installing Yosemite, sound will only play from my Mac Pro's internal speakers.
Opening Preferences > Sound and selecting Line Out has no effect.
Why does the Line Out no longer work with Yosemite?

Update:
Seems issue with keyboard volume not working crops up again each time the system enters "sleep" mode.
Volume controls will visually make the volume appear to adjust on screen, but not affect sound level to external speakers.
Only solution I've found so far is a reboot.
Never encountered this with Maverick's or any previous OS.

N82 incoming SMS alerts no longer working

Hi there
I've an issue with my N82. I no longer get beep alerts for incoming messages. Also, the little "new message" icon the active standby page doesn't show. If I go into messaging, there is a little red star against the inbox.
I have tried
Tools --> Profiles --> General --> Personalise --> Message Alert Tone and it is set to Message 1.AAC as expected. If I select to change and scroll through the options, Message 1.AAC preview does work (i.e. it plays the double beep)
Note, the new message icon doesn't work on any profile.
As I'm sure it will be asked, *#0000# reveals:

back up your data before you do any of these steps.
first you can try to reinstall your firware, sometimes it does get corrupted just. second try these codes. the first will do a factory default you will not lose any data with the other two make sure you back up all your info, all your data will be wiped from the phone. also when you do resets and stuff remove your memory card and do them without.
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default
*#7370# - Reformat your phone
This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. Turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button.
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.

Ringtones, message tones and alerts suddenly stopped working on my Pixi.....

I just upgraded from an old BB Curve to a Palm Pixi. I got my new phone, September 27th 2010... two days later, after normal usage (ie texting, calling & photos) the alerts stopped working completely. I have never used headphones on that phone either. I called my service provider and they sent me a new Pixi, which I got three days ago. Well this afternoon, while sitting in my pocket, the same exact thing happened as the other Pixi. (Again, I have never used headphones) I can play music through the outer speakers, I can play ringtones if I open them and play them manually... but whenever I receive a call or text all my phone will do is vibrate, also my alarm won't work (sound) and neither my calendar alerts. I have all the audio settings turned to "on". I even have the system sounds turned to "on" but they won't play (the sound when you take a pic or throw a card off the screen)... no sound on my game apps either. I really love this phone, but I'm so temped to go back to my old BB Curve. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it fixable or should I just a get a new Pixi?

Have you checked the ringer switch on the top of the device next to the power button? Do you see red showing; if so switch it in the opposite direction so you do not see red. The device is in vibrate mode in the position, and all sounds is disabled.

M-audio omnistudio usb no longer works after upgrade to mountain lion

hello. has anyone encountered this problem. after upgrading my intel imac to 10.8, i have discovered that my m-audio omnistudio usb is no longer recognized. i have changed the usb cable and reinstalled the last current driver for the hardware, but still nothing. would like to get it running again as that is what my studio monitors are running thru. i can't play my piano(m-audio studio 88) anymore. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It appears that ML no longer supports 32bit applications at all.
Therefore, you have 2 options:
1) Use the built in VPN client, you will need your IT's help for this as it requires the group name and password of your VPN server. You can configure it by going to System Preferences -> Network and 'adding' an VPN (Cisco IPSec) interface. I haven't had much luck with it, it works sometimes and sometimes it fails, but other people swear by it.
2) Move over to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client, which does support 64bit. This will also require your IT department as they need to configure the SSL/AnyConnect VPN on the VPN device itself. I went to this method yesterday and it's worked out great so far.

Upgraded to OS X Yosemite and Mail notification sound no longer works

Hi, I upgraded to OS X Yosemite yesterday and when my Mail notifications come through I only get the banner no sound. I have turned on the sound preference in my the Mail preferences and the Notification Centre preferences. Is there any other way to get the sound working for these notifications. All my other notifications that come through have the sound as well.

Make sure that all those boxes beside all those items are checked.
Alert volume is not the lowest.
Output volume is not muted.

Any app audio through Airplay no longer works on ipad2 after 5.1.1 update. Working Airplay on my iphone.

I have a working Airplay connection to my Pioneer VSX-1021 Receiver. My iPhone 3GS and iTunes on my PC connect and send audio with no issues.
On the ipad2 through the music app for instance, I am able to select the Receiver as an Airplay destination but the blue Airplay icon soon goes white and it defaults back to iPad. The scrub bar and time counter never advance. Similar results with Garage Band. Settings on ipad and iphone are the same.
I have noticed this since upgrading to 5.1.1 but it could have been this way prior to the upgrade.
Any ideas?

Honestly, this is a WAG but try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Digital audio via USB no longer works since IOS8

I use the "Lightning to USB Camera Adapter" (ref MD821ZM) to connect my iPhone or the iPad to my Bowers and Wilkins speakers MM-1 USB cable.
This allowed to use the B&W internal DAC.
It has worked fine in IOS 7 and it was a fantastic feature and easy to use.
IOS no longer streams the music digitally to the DAC. it just keeps playing the music from the iPhone/ipad internal speakers.
I truly hope this is only a bug and not a feature Apple has voluntarely decided to remove, which would be a shame because it doesn't harm anyone to keep it.
or anyone has a suggestion (app or something)

We are in business. I charged the iPod via the cigarette lighter (didn't take long). When I plugged it into the computer after charging it I got the familiar ding-dong sound and the iPod updater immediately prompted me to update the software on the iPod (which I did).
After updating, the computer no longer seemed to recognize it. I stopped all the USB devices that were running, one at a time until I finally saw Apple iPod in the list and I stopped that as well and disconnected.
To make a long story short, after rebooting my computer and reconnecting the iPod, iTunes came up as normal and it looks like I'm over this hurdle.
I have no idea why the computer wouldn't recognize the iPod when the battery was dead but suddenly recognizes it after charging it.
My wife says that the iPod had been left plugged into the computer for a long period of time but I'm not sure what that would have done.
At any rate, we're working now and hopefully someone will get some benefit from this thread.
