Messaging Fiasco

So after 3 1/2 months, close to 30 hours with level 2 tech support I have come to the conclusion that 1) Verizon customer support really doesn't care.  2) Most (at least every one I've dealt with) of the customer support people are compulsive liars.
Starting with the KitKat upgrade of my Galaxy S5, I've had the by now well documented issue with picture messages not coming in.
First call to tech support we did everything up to and including a factory reset to no avail.  I was then told that it really didn't mater because since at least for me the issue only happened when on 3G.  On 4G never a problem.  According to tech support person number 1, 3G would be going away although he couldn't tell me exactly when.  Not much help
Second call to tech support I thought I'd found someone that would work to resolve the issue.  In talking with him he said he searched and could not find any indication that this happened to anyone but me.  Multiple calls trying multiple things finally bumped up to a Network Engineer.  A week later the network engineer (I use the term engineer very loosely) tells me that if I would just use VZ Messages plus there would be no problem.  I tried it, no joy.  Talked with the level 2 tech support person again and was told I didn't have current version and that the network engineer had duplicated my problem then fixed it by upgrading to current version, so I upgraded and again no joy.  Even though the issue wasn't resolved, the trouble ticket was closed.  At this point he believed it was a device issue and sent out a replacement.  Brand new fully up to date.  Nope not working either.  Sent it back and talked to him again.  It must be Samsung issue and he would work with Samsung.  5 weeks go by with no answer, not even a response to an email.  Apparently just not responding when you don't have an answer is how they roll.
Call to third tech support person, very apologetic that things got dropped.  Went through a number of things and finally agreed to send out a network extender to get me off of 3G Extended and two open the trouble ticket back up.  The extender was supposed to be arriving in a couple days.  A week later nothing arrived.  I sent 2 follow up e-mails with no response.
Call to fourth tech support person.  This one much more argumentative.  No an extender was never sent and would not be sent because it won't work.  Hmm previous person said nothing about that.  But the trouble ticket was open and well I guess you'll just have to wait until Samsung/Google correct the problem because it's not a Verizon problem.  I pointed out that my contract was with Verizon to provide service which they were not.  She really didn't seem to care, just wanted to get rid of me.
Call to talk to a supervisor since I was getting the run around from tech support.  After an hour on the phone with him, he first confirmed that no extender would be sent unless I wanted to purchase one, and two, the trouble ticket that I was told earlier in the day was open had in fact not been opened. On further discussion I was told that since I could get MMS pictures if I didn't turn WIFI on that Verizon was providing the service for which I was paying.  So now my options are pay for an added device which may or may not work or just never use WIFI and up my data plan by $30 a month or so.  Or I can have them send my phone back to Samsung to let them work on it and in the interim have nothing.
And just to make things better, we just added another device, LG G3 to the account and it has the same issues.
All I can say is VERIZON  YOU SUCK.  No support, told anything just to get rid of me, told that no the device and service you bought really won't do everything they're supposed to and you have to pay extra if you want them to.

Starting with the KitKat upgrade of my Galaxy S5, I've had the by now well documented issue with picture messages not coming in. Have you tried shutting off Wi-Fi to see the message come through? Picture Messages can only be sent and received using Cellular Data and prior to Kit Kat the OS adjusted and could differentiate between the two. With Kit Kat, you need to actually shut off Wi-Fi in order to receive the messages

They are grasping at straws on this and the only thing they can think of is, lets change messaging apps and use the inferior VZW Messaging app. Regardless of which messaging app you use, with Wi-Fi turned on, you are going to have issues sending and receiving MMS messages (Picture Messages) This is also well documented in these pages as well as other forums
Network Extender will NOT help this cause.

One thing here. I use Wi-Fi all the time and I will get the messages with Pics in them and it will show as Downloading but never actually show up on my phone.  Once I shut off Wi-Fi, the pic downloads to my phone and I can see it, then I turn Wi-Fi back on.  It is a major pain, but I will not fall into their game of lets get more Data usage and money out of the customers.
And just to make things better, we just added another device, LG G3 to the account and it has the same issues. As long as you have Kit Kat on your device (and possibly later versions as well) you will have this issue

  • Did you know that TM's browser will NOT back up your sent E-mail messages?

    In Apple Mail anyway.
Since Verizon Yahoo! password fiasco, I decided just re-do my Verizon E-mail account. Figuring if I lost messages that I could bring the messages back in TM's browser.
I lost all my sent messages. I thought okay I'm going to enter my TM's browser and bring them back. However you can't do it for strange reason, the browser only has the NOW going. The pass is greyed out.
I know I should try the hard backup with Leopard's CD, but that's a pain in the butt. Besides I've saved a few E-mails since then too.
My main point is that I thought that TM's browser could restore EVERYTHING on my Mac. I've gotten a little sloppy since TM figuring that I had a good and fast backup system.
If TM's browser doesn't backup everything then Apple needs to tell us what it doesn't back up.

  • Help with EJB 3.0 MEssage Driver Bean Wizard in NetBeans 5.5 preview

I am using NetBeans 5.5 preview with sun apps server 9.0 .
But I am not able to write message driver beans .
Can anybody help in this regards
    ^^ Unni

Russ thanks for checking back. I did try the prefernce manager but no luck there. I ended up downloarding promaintance as a trail and ran thier error code analysis. http://www.digitalrebellion.com/promaintenance/
So I found that the reason it wouldn't open was that there was a missing framework. I don't know much about frameworks but I do know that when I ran digital rebelions fcp uninstaller it removed this framework. When I reinstalled fcp studio this framework was not reinstalled, even after running all of the proap updates. Consequently I found that my aperature program was affected by this framework as well and wouldn't open. I ended up having to copy the framework off of a another computer and pasting it into the appropriate folder on my Mac Pro.
Viola, compressor now will launch at least and so will apperture. The problem still remains though that I can not ad custom destinations in Compressor with out it crashing. Another thing is that compressor will only quit if I forced quit it. I have tried uninstalling and reintalling FCP studio 4 times now with the same results. After that frameworks fiasco I am a little hesitant to mess with it any more for fear of messing up any other application.
pretty bummed on my set up right now.

  • I can't sync music and get an error message when I plug in my iPod

I've had my iPod for a year or so, and mostly things have been fine. The battery-life was dying more quickly than usual, so I went to the Apple Store and got one of the salespeople to help me. They told me to Restore the iPod and see how it went from there. After a complete fiasco with that, I keep trying to plug in my iPod to update my library. However, when I plug it in, the iPod only flashes the charging button, and iTunes is unresponsive and sluggish for several minutes. Then a message pops up that says "The iPod 'iPod' cannot be synced. The required disc cannot be found."
I have repeatedly gotten this message and really don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated......

You can also try out few things >
    1) check if the ipod constantly appears in mycomputer section .
    - if it does try changing the drive letter of the ipod and try to format the ipod drive(Right click format)
    2) if its not comin up in mycomputer then.. there has to be problem with the USB drivers in your computer
    you can try
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304508
The best way to check whether the ipod is faulty or the computer is creating the problem is,
connect the ipod to a different computer which has itunes on it(If possible)

  • Error message: "Missing required plugins" - Illustrator CS3 will not load

I am running CS3 Web Prem on Vista, dual core Athlon with 2g Ram.
Illustrator has stopped working - gives error message: "Missing required plugins. Pathfinder Suite." Or it says "Missing required plugins. ArtConverters.aip PDFformat.aip Pathfinder suite.aip Rasterize.aip"
I have tried the suggestions from knowledge base article - I have tried deleting AIprefs; I have also tried in new user account - initially worked but not on opening program a second time. I have also re-installed Illustrator.
    Any other solutions?

    Glad to hear it.
Not sure what possible nuances to performance or memory management there may be to running in compatibility mode. Since I can't run in any other mode, it is hard to make a comparison.
It seems to run fine though, for me.
There should be a Windows Update that came out in the last day or so that is supposed to address this issue (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947562). At least thats what it says.
BUT, after that fiasco with SP1, I am real reluctant to do any more updates.
SP1 toasted my ability to connect with network resources, external and some internal hard drives, ALL my USB equipment failed to connect anymore. I removed SP1 (uninstalled it per the instructions on the MS KB) but that process trashed the OS and required a complete clean re-install of Vista. A week later I am pretty much back to where I should be (see, my system backups were with SP1. Brilliant, eh?).
Still have to run many so-called "Vista Compatible" applications in this compatability mode though.

  • Keep getting this error message about library backup...

When Itunes is running, after a little while it gives me this message saying +"Cannot backup library. You do not have enough access priviledges to perform this action"+ What does this mean? Everything is running fine otherwise. Btw, I am running Windows 7
On a side note, I recently just lost all of my playlists and music and had to reload everything because ITunes just decided on its own to wipe everything out. Needless to say, I was furious. I loaded the songs back in but recreating the playlists takes a lot of time and I don't want this to happen again. I wonder if this message had anything to do with that fiasco. Any ideas?

I started getting this at the same time. Must be something on their end. It's all still working though which is weird.

  • Did the Itunes update fiasco of 2014 kill my sound card?

I have read every post regarding  this Apple fiasco but this has been a perfect storm of Apple failure for  me, the only reason I opened my Itunes 2 nights ago was because my Ipod  of 5 years died and I had to buy a new one, so my love for Apple has  diminished greatly in the last 24 hours.
Running: Microsoft windows XP media center edition version 2002 service pack 3.
I  know enough about computers to be dangerous, I may have deleted  something for the sound card trying to get this Itunes re-install to work. I've been able  to follow everything posted like:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5822688?tstart=30 I have deleted EVERYTHING more than once, restarted MORE than once, I  even tried loading an older version of Itunes, but the problem I'm  running into is my sound card can't or won't be detected, it was working  fine before this fiasco so I'm not sure if it's the re-install that has  caused it to be undetected or maybe it just died at the perfect time. I  keep getting this message: I tunes has detected a problem with your aiudio/video configuration and playback may not operate properly.  I  can see video but no sound, I can get into my Itunes library but  nothing will play, my sound card doesn't even show up in my devices  section anymore.
I  read a post that said something about messing with the msconfig and the  inetcpl.cpl and the dxdiag in the START/RUN area so I may have done  something stupid.
    HELP! (Apple hate) HELP!

THe update messed up my 80gb too. I spent over an hour on the phone with Apple care yesterday - and they screwed it up even worse. (I manage music & video from my home computer and my calander from my work computer.) It used to work fine - now I can't even get my work computer to recognize the ipod as a USB drive! If they would just re-post 7.5, I think I could fix it myself - but they took it off the site completely.
I told (both people at) Apple care that this is the kind of crap microsoft pulls. They send out updates with bugs. Apple is supposed to NOT do that! I am so mad right now! I just got this brand new ipod for Christmas.
Today, I am supposed to order my new laptop for work. I have been given the choice of PC or Mac. Until yesterday, I was gun-ho Mac. Now I'm not so sure. I mean - they couldn't fix my new ipod after an hour on the phone? What kind of issues am I going to have with a laptop? The closest Apple store is well over an hour away.
    Any suggestions??

  • Messages Phone Number Problem

I've got a MBP running Mtn Lion.  Messages will not bring up, nor can I add my iPhone's cell number to my Messages account.
My iPhone is running iOS 5.1.1.
Having said that, my wife's iPhone, running iOS 6.0.1 is showing up as the default number on my Messages account.  Apparently when an iPhone is running iOS 6, it will show up as a possible phone number for Messages...
Messages has a bit of double-speak associated with this problem.  The Messages help pages indicate that the phone numbers that show up are those associated with the Apple ID (but they don't on my system).  However, I've read (and darned if I can't find the text again, now), that an iPhone running iOS 6 will show up as a number for the Apple ID...
I've tried adding my phone number to the "add email address" field (per another thread's solution), but this hasn't worked for me...
So, short of upgrading my iPhone's iOS (which I'd rather not do until the iOS 6 maps fiasco has been remedied, or Google Maps is available as an app, again), is anyone aware of a fix to this problem...
    Any thoughts?!?!
    Thanks
    Bob

    Hi,
To get the Mac App Messages and an iPhone to get the iPhone Number into Message as a Send and Receive item you have to be on OS X 10.8.2 and iOS 6 at least.
At iOS 5.1.1 the Message App on the iPhone will only "sync" the iMessages sent to the iPhone that were sent to the Apple ID.
The iPhone Number's Messages will not sync to the Messages app on the Mac.
iMessages sent to the iPhone Number therefore tend to be "private" from the syncing that is going on with iMessages to the Apple ID
Apple uses the word "sync" but "Display on all devices" is a more accurate description as what you do with the iMessage on one device does not show up on others.
You will have noticed that on the iPhone in Settings > Messages that the "Receive at" has become Send and Receive and includes the iPhone Number.
This is replicated to some extent in the Messages version 7.0.1 (At the OS X 10.8.2 update) with the iPhone Number(s) being a Send From option in the drop down at the bottom.

  • SAP message Log

Does SAP maintain log of all the messages displayed on screen using MESSAGE statement?
We are investigating a problem and want to see the messages displayed by SAP during the time when problem occured.

We have custom development for picking and confirmation. Last week we found that in some deliveries there is difference in delivered quantity and packed quantity.
Custom development is calling sap-standard FMs. Problem occurs randomly, roughly 10 deliveries in a week has this problem.
We are still trying to investigate the reason that is causing the problem.
Custom program does display the message to user if FM raise any message. We asked user of they are getting any message while picking, and if they are ignoring it.
They just confirmed that they are getting message 'Packing Not Possible Since there is no Quantity to be Packed' and they did ignored this.

  • Windows Vista: Ipod Error Message, no longer read by PCs

    Hello,
I have a 5th generation black ipod video with 30GB of memory.
The other day I hooked it up to my laptop (Toshiba, 4 months old) that it's been functioning on with no problems whatsoever. This weird error message flashed twice about it not being able to sync because of some software problem.
Eversince then, the only thing I can charge my ipod on is the family treadmill in the basement (~_~) as no other computer in the house recognizes it. I can't even charge it through the wall sockets, either.
I have changed the ipod cord, still no luck. I've also reset the device about 3 or 4 times and uninstalled, restarted the laptop then reinstalled itunes. I would like to reset it back to factory settings but that's impossible as computers/laptops don't pick it up. I live very far from a Mac store...
What's a girl to do? I can't live without my Busta Rhymes and Wu-Tang Clan!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Error message into a Variable.

    Dear users,
I have a rather usual (unusual from the weekend beers for me though!!) query which I can't figure out a proper way to implement.
    My requirement is like this:
I have a message class in which I want to define a text 'Employee number & not found'.
I want to use this in the program, but not to raise this error. Instead, I want to move this error message with the Employee number into a Character(200) variable.
So instead of using MESSAGE e0xx(messageclass) USING employee number, I would like to move the error text into a variable which looks like:
lv_text = e0xx(messageclass) USING '1234'   which stores the text 'Employee number 1234 not found' in lv_text.
    How would I acheive it??
    Thanks, V!

    Try tis way
    message e999(00) with i_emp-empno into lv_text.
press f1 in message will provide you more details

  • Cannot sync, error message "could not be read" for an iPod no longer in use

I have two problems. I upgraded iTunes to 7.2 and the very next morning my iPod died. It is completely unresponsive. Maybe it's coincidental. So I bought a new 80 gig iPod and gave it a different name than the old dead iPod. Now when I try to sync the new iPod, it goes for about 10 minutes, then it fails with this message:
Attempting to copy to the disk "old iPod name" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
It is complaining that it can not read the old dead iPod that is NOT hooked up to the computer! Somehow, minutes into syncing, iTunes has forgotten which iPod it is looking at. I have seen the article about the "cannont be read" message and it is not relevant. I need to make iTunes forget about the old dead iPod so it will stop looking for it. I've tried removing the files from "Documents and Settings" but iTunes still remembers the old unit. Where else does it store information? Any recommendations?

It is complaining that it can not read the old dead iPod that is NOT hooked up to the computer!
Okay, that can sometimes be caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. For troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see the following document:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • Error message: "playlists selected for updating no longer exist"

I tried to update my ipod nano and I guess I had deleted a playlist, but since then, I have not been able to update. Every time I try, I get the following message:
"Cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist."
I haven't been able to highlight which playlists are selected to begin with.
I read through the manual and thought that maybe rebooting the whole system might work. So I deleted Itunes from my computer and re-installed.
Then I tried re-setting my ipod. So now I have nothing on my ipod.
I also deleted everything from my library, thinking it might help to start from scratch. Nothing has worked.
How do I "select" and "unselect" playlists so I can get up and running again?

    Here you go.

  • IPod seen by windows, not by iTunes+ weird error message

I have a first generation 2GB iPod nano and i use windows xp. I can't load any music because iTunes doesn't see my iPod and an error message pops up that reads like this: "iTunes: iTunes.exe corrupt file. The file or directory \iPod_Control\iTunes is corrupt and unredable. Please run the checkdisk utility." I've tried everything, reinstalling iTunes, different versions, reinstalling OS, resetting iPod, even on another computer, same problem. Other than that, the iPod works normally, it's just lacking music..
and why is there no email adress from apple for service qustions? 10x

I still don't get it, how can I put it in disk mode if I CANNOT see the iPod in iTunes..?
Did you read the document i linked you to? here's another link to it:
    Putting iPod into Disk Mode
whereabouts in that procedure in that document (that you get to by clicking that link) does it say that you have to connect it to iTunes to put it into disk mode?
    ... never mind ... i guess you've fixed it anyway ...

  • Error message iPod cannot update b/c all of the playlists no longer exist

Hello. I have been getting this error message. "Songs on the iPod "MAR(the name of my iPod)" cannot update because all of the playlists selecting for updating no longer exist." And my playlists are still on the left side in my iTunes. They do exist. I have a feeling ths might have to do with the fact that on vacation the person I was visiting gave me a gift of putting all of his music that would fit into the external hard drive part of my iPod, and for the past week or so I have been putting that music onto my 40 GB portable hard drive at home. I suspect I took a vital folder out of my iPod by accident. Right now I have the folder iPod_control if I open my iPod up in My Computer. Am I missing something? Right now my iPod is empty because iTunes made a composite playlist last week and I deleted it thinking I could get my real playlists back. Can you help me, or reccomend a site/someone who can? Thank you.

    hiya!

let's just doublecheck this. folks get this message if they have "automatically update selected playlists only" selected in their itunes "ipod" preferences tab. so bring up that tab ("edit > preferences", click "ipod" while the ipod is showing up in the source list), and do a playlist by playlist crosscheck of the playlists selected in that tab, and the playlists showing up in the itunes sourcelist.
is there any playlist selected in the preferences tab that isn't showing up in the sourcelist?
    love, b
