Messaging only syncs on wifi connection (5800XM)

For some unexplained reasons, nokia messaging only syncs on my home wifi connection and very randomly through my 3G connection. I suspect that nokia messaging never opens a 3G connection and only syncs if another software is already connected...

Can I disable photo stream only on specific WIFI connection?

Hi,
I just purchased a mobile router with a data limit 50MB/day for my old iPhone 4.
This iPhone 4 only connects to WIFI network.
I like photo stream and want to keep using it with my unlimited family WIFI network, but, the problem is when I connect it to my mobile route through WIFI, the photo stream won't stop working. That cause my 50M/day plan runs out in a minute.
So, is there a way to disable photo stream only on specific WIFI connection?
I tried iPhone Configuration Utility and it seems not have a function like that.

Welcome to the Apple Community Katie.
It is the purpose of photo stream to sync all photos to all devices, the only way to remove the photos from the computer without affecting other devices is to turn photo stream off.

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

Exchange email will only sync over WiFi on iPhone 6

Hello.
We use iPhones with our Exchange 2010 SP3 servers for email through activesync.
We've recently bought three iPhone 6 handsets and have set them up in exactly the same way as before - we have a mobileconfig file that runs users through the setup.
On one of them email will only sync correctly when the user is in our office and connected to our internal WiFi.
When he's using a 3g connection no new emails are delivered, though he doesn't get any error messages - it appears to sync ok, as though there are no new emails for him. Reconnect to our WiFi and email flows as normal.
I don't believe we have any DNS issues as email is working just fine for everyone else in and out of our network.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour, and ideally fixed it?

I had this exact same problem with Email that would only sync while on company's internal wifi for my iphone 6, despite it working perfectly with my other device. Checked the settings on both devices and they were all the same. While looking online for a fix I noticed there are a lot of people with this issue, unfortunately none of the "fixes" worked for me.
Originally I had my iPhone 6 setup to match the settings on my iPad with the server name "exchange.company.com". This gave me all the check marks as expected, but it wouldn't update unless on internal wifi. I was able to get my iphone 6 working by adjusting the server name in the account settings. After I adjusted the server name to be "outlook.company.com", I got the same checkmarks and my email is now working perfectly.
Not sure why it is different between the two devices but since it has solved my issue I will ignore that portion. Hope this helps.

N80 sync using wifi connection?

Currently sync is only possible using the following means - BT, USB, Infrared, Serial Cable. Given that phones like the N80 have wifi, it would have been natural to support sync using Wifi adhoc connection. Any idea when this will be offered?

I solved it, with a search of this community.
Connect your iDevice to your Computer's iTunes 10.5 using USB
Click your iDevice on the left panel in iTunes
Scroll down till you see the 'Options' section
Tick the option that shows 'Sync Over Wi-Fi Connection'
Click 'Apply'.
You should be good to go. Go to the Options menu on your iDevice and
navigate to the Wifi Sync option. The Sync button should be enabled.
This worked for me.

Videos from youtube only play on wifi connection

Just recently my curve 8530 stopped playing videos on my telus 3g network. it will play them if i am connected to a WIFI connection with no problem.
Does anyone have an idea as to why. it worked last week but now nothing with my normal data package. only wifi produces the ability to play

I can't connect to the internet unless it's thru a wifi connection. Just started having this problem yesterday, 10/19/2014.

There could be an outage in your area. One thing you could try is resetting your SIM card, i.e., turn off the phone, remove the SIM card (be careful not to touch the gold contacts), wait a minute or two, then reinsert the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and allow it time to establish a fresh network connection.

"Wrong" content in response message from Sync HTTP receiver connection

We're trying to set up a synchronous HTTP receiver connection in a BPM to send a PO to a business partner. This partner will then respond with a response message or an error message.
Request : messagetype_request
Response : messagetype_response
Fault message: messagetype_fault
Our problem is that a sync HTTP connection apparently does not support the fault messages and therefore the errormessage, based on the messagetype "messagetype_fault" is returned into the responsemessage with messagetype "messagetype_response". This means that we can not perform any manipulation on this message due to the wrong messagetype compared to the content.
Using a switch in the BPM that checks on the existence of an X-path expression we have already splitted branches for the errorhandling and succesfull response handling.
Does anyone have an idea how to change the errormessage that is stuck in the messagetype_repsonse format ?

Thanks for the answer, but this leaves me with the main question how I can change a certain message within a BPM from one messagetype to another. Normally a simple message mapping would do the job but the problem in this case is that the source message does not have the message structure that would be expected by the BPM due to the error message being received in the message that was reserved for the correct response.

Ipod shuffle 4th gen only syncs first time connected

My ipod shuffle wont sync, charge, or be recognized by my computer! I'm on a late 2006 Macbook pro with all current software. (itunes 10.1.2 and mac os 10.6.6)
I just bought my ipod shuffle 4th generation and am having difficulties syncing it. The first time I plugged it in it showed up in finder, showed up in itunes, the little orange light on the ipod went on, and I successfully put some of my music onto it.
A day later when I plugged it in to put some more music on it my computer did not recognize it at all: it didnt show up in finder, it didnt show up in itunes, and the orange light didnt come on. I have checked and done the following things: made sure it's plugged in all of the way, tried other usb ports, unplugged other usb devices, restarted itunes, reinstalled itunes, and restarted my computer but nothing has worked so far. I then, to see if it was the cable that was not working, plugged it into my dads windows 7 laptop. It was recognized by windows and itunes that first time but the second time I plugged it in neither windows or itunes recognized it and the ipod's orange light didnt come on.
Whats up with this? What should I try next? I feel like this may be an issue with the ipod itself but does anyone have any ideas of things I could try on my mbp to see if it will sync?

When you say "hot beyond limits? do you mean that the iPod's screen showed the overheating warning?
Durring charging, the iPod can get quite warm. If you have a concern I would make an appoinment t the Genius Bar of an Apple store. How hot is hot is very subjective.

Mail - Yahoo messages only sync after rebooting the program

on my MBA, Yahoo works fine with Mail.
It checks for new mail every minute.........
B U T, whenever I move a mail to one of my folders in my Yahoo account or create / delete a folder in my Yahoo account, Mail doesn`t automatically catches up.
When I stop Mail and then re-start it however, all is syncronized as it should be.
Huh?
I tried the settings and pressed "Synchronize Yahoo" in the menu above.......but that doesn`t do the trick.
Is there a "synchronize" button?
What am I missing?

Wifi connecting drops on Time Capsule when I sync iMac with appletv

I've had this issue ever since I got my 27" iMac and I can't figure it out.
My setting:
I live in a 3 bedroom apartment. Livingroom is at the right as you go in. Followed by room 1, then room 2 and right before the kitchen at the end is room 3(mine). I Have an apple tv in the living room, a 21" iMac and a time capsule that I use only as an airport base. I also keep a macbook in the livingroom. In my bedroom, room 3, I have my 27"iMac. Everything is connected to the Time Capsule for wifi as well as a couple of iphones and an ipod touch. Everything is updated with the latest software updates.
My problem is that every time I try syncing my apple tv with my 27" iMac, the time capsule looses the wifi connection and immediately starts blinking orange. I have to restart the time capsule by unplugging it and then the wifi connection is restored. For a while now I've been using a 50' ethernet cable that connects the 27" imac and the time capsule with the wifi off on the imac. This is the only way the wifi connection isn't affected when I sync to the appletv. I've tried resetting and restoring the time capsule several times without helping the issue. I also tried all 11 channels on the wifi connection as well as automatic setting for the channel but that doesn't seem to help. I clean installed snow leopard on my 27" iMac as well with no luck. At this time I don't know what to do, any help would be appreciated. I'm really tired of having that cable laying around. Thanks

please read this about possible sources of _*wireless interference*_, which may well be your problem.
wireless signals, if they have to travel over long distances or through obstacles (such as concrete walls or steel structures), will lose power. especially on the 5 GHz band you virtually need +line by sight+ in order to get a clean and reliable signal.
consequently, many users (including myself) resort to hardwired connections where possible. except my two airport express units and my iPod Touch, i have all my equipment hardwired to my TC.
additionally, syncing large amounts of data between devices heavily taxes your wireless bandwidth.

Theres somethi was playing an app on it and so i left the app to go on facebook but then the screen froze and just went dark. the screen was just black and the only thing visible was the wifi connection on the top left corner and the battery charge.

I was on my ipad and suddenly the screen went dark with only the ipad wifi connection and the battery charge visible. im not able to turn off my ipad or touch anything since nothing is visible its just dark.

Why is imessage only working on wifi?

I'm having some trouble with iMessage on my iPhone 4. For some reason since last week it will only send/receive messages when on a wifi connection but not on 3g/Edge. None of my data settings have changed. Coincidentally I've found that viber is having the same issue, it will only sned/receive message on wifi but not on 3G/Edge.
All the other browsing apps/safari work fine on 3g/edge. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm based in Ireland on the O2 network

Yes same here.
The apps "Find My iPhone" and "Find My Friends" are doing the same thing, work fine in wifi but not on 3g/Edge. I'm in Australia on Telstra.
It's my wifes 4s that worked fine when I was using it, my 5 works fine.
It's software based because changing phone and restoring have the problem folling that user!

Because the retina 15 only has a wifi connection (no ethernet), that's the connection I'm stuck with for the notebook. But on the 27iMac, I did have both ethernet and wifi enabled. When I turned the wifi off on the 27, therer was a brief moment when both computers were showing their counterparts when I tried to make a network connection. BUT, after a few seconds of 'searching', the computer I was trying to connect to disappeared from the Network list.
So I tried the opposite; the retina can only connect thru wifi, so that's a given. I swithched my ethernet off and then enabed the wifi on the 27 and ....same thing: When I try a network connection, there are a few seconds of 'searching', then the ony option I'm left with is share screen, which doesn't work either.
I've read the 'dropped' network is a problem with the retina, but the odd thing is that I never lose my internet connection—that continues to work fine, as does Air Drop—but I can't seem to connect, network-wise.
Any ideas about the dropped network?

How do i only sync checked music?

I am trying to sync only the music that I want on my phone instead of mine and my husbands music. Our music together is taking up too much space on my phone! Can someone please help me?!

To only sync checked songs, connect your device, go to the Summary tab, and check the "Sync only checked songs and videos" option (pictured below).
Note that to get only certain songs onto your device, checkboxes will do but are not really the best way. When you get a few minutes, try the alternative known as "Sync Selected Playlists."
