Messaging Problem Nokia N95 - Memory Full, close a...

Hi,
I'm having problems with messaging. When attempting to send the message "Memory full. Close applications and try again" appears - although there is no issue with the phone or card memory and are pretty empty. The message sits in the outbox and no matter how many times you try to send, will not allow.
At first I removed the SIM card, clean and replaced and this did work the first time. It no longer works at all now. Does anyone have any suggestions or experienced this before?
Thanks, Phil

So have you checked that your memory is not FULL?
Go to the File Manager and then select Options Memory details (for the Phone Memory) do you have free memory?
Have you installed something that may be running in the background (like a theme or something else) try to use one of the default themes.
Have you cleaned (deleted) the internet cache for the browser?
If all fails you may need to do a hard reset and clean your phone completely of all installed things and downloaded content. Then try it (before you start loading your stuff).
Phones have a limited amount of resources and can get full very easily without you knowing. Programs use the Phone memory to store temporary files that never get deleted. DRM songs also consume memory even after you deleted the songs, etc.
640K Should be enough for everybody

    Go to Solution.

Software or even hard reset perhaps is the only way for a quick solution/fix, but first back up using for example Outlook using Nokia Suite or Funambol.
Not a nice problem you having here.
PS Are you using the phone to connect to a server with the built in file manager or do you use for example Whats Up  DS

  • Memory full: Close some applications

    Hi there
I own a 701 running Belle Feature Pack 1, updated 4 months ago.
The update gave me a nicer battery life, though I have a strange application with the name 'aknspasrv' that is constantly running in the background . I got to know about this from the battery monitor app.
Also I'm a hardcore multitasker on the phone, getting back to the point...after more than about 36 hours of my device booting up if I try to launch any sort of application (even messaging) the system says that the memory is full and I have to close some apps and try again (even text messages wont be sent) closing applications doesnt work at times, so I have to restart the phone. Whereas I've tried using more than 15 apps like maps, browser, gallery, file manager, etc. all at the same time running in the background before the update and it worked just fine.
    Please help...

I have exactly the same problem with my 808 Pureview. Memory is running out in random situations, it has nothing to do with the amount of programs open.
I'll just encounter a problem with some app launching, and then I get notification: "Idle: memory is full. Please close applications and ... " something like that translated from finnish.
I recently made factory reset to my phone, and problems with the memory seems to disappear. But I still have that 'aknspasrv' open in background applications.
Please Nokia Support, give us a a answer. What is that mysterical aknspasrv app? It seems to suck all life from my otherwise excellent phone!
EDIT: I just contacted Nokias support via chat. They said that "aknspasrv" is not Nokia application. So it is probably some 3rd party software.

  • Nokia E72: Memory full. Delete or move some data f...

    HI All,
I've recently purchased a Nokia E72 phone for business use and after about three days of trouble-free operation it has suddenly run out of space on the phone system drive C:. This is very surprising as I am not aware of installing any apps or generating any content on C: since the last time I verified the available space exceeding 120 MB.
I keep on getting a message "Memory full. Delete or move some data from C: Phone memory.", am unable to enter the menu and the phone keeps on rebooting.
I've read a couple of posts from others experiencing this problem on various places on the Internet but no signs of a solution. Does anybody else have the same problem and/or knows the solution?
I would really appreciate any advice you could give me!
    Thanks,
    Jan

    This is just my experience of "older" phones and memory issues;
If Opera (mini) is installed, uninstall it.
Restart the phone...reinstall this "critical" application on C.

  • Nokia 5800 Memory Full!

After I Downloaded The Latest Version Of Ovi Maps,My Memory Got Lower And Lower. Please Help me!!!

    Hello farby,
    Thanks for your feedback.
I am not 100% sure if Messaging is the sole killer.
When I switched off Messaging off, I didn't experience "Memory Full" for 15-min navigation after increasing the memory to 80% as you recommended.   I have "Blacklist" installed from Ovi and was on all the times without problems to answering calls.  When I leave Messaging on, I experienced the said issue.
    First, I will un-install Blacklist.
It's sad to remove an useful tool Nokia endorsed to screening junk promotional calls in HK.
Unless I am wrong, Nokia should validate all applications before posting them on Ovi.  If not, what's the meaning of having Ovi?
    Thanks anyway.
Just curious,  are you based in Finland?

  • "View interrupted downloads?" Message in Nokia N95

    Dear all,
Every time I finish browsing using web application on Nokia N95 and exit the web I receive the message "view interrupted downloads?" with options yes or no. When I press yes it opens web application again & when I press no nothing happened. I can't get rid of it. I try clearing cache but nothing happened.
Can anybody tell me what I should do to get rid of this message?

I've encountered this before and I from what I remember if you click on Options you should see a menu option which allows you to view the downloads which have been interrupted.
From there you should be able to either cancel them or continue the download.Message Edited by edwardquan on 18-Jun-200709:57 PM

  • N70 - i cannot send sms it says memory full close ...

the thing is, there are no other applications open.. HELP

    Hi chris091606
Is message storage on phone memory or card memory?
If using phone memory you could try changing to card memory.
Menu > Messaging > Options > Settings > Other > Memory in use
Then change the setting from Phone memory to the name of your inserted RS-MMC.

  • N91 Memory full Close Applications and try Again

this is the error while i'm browsing, please help

The error indicates that there's no more working memory! Delete caches & other unnecessary files to free up memory. Re-install 3rd party app & move photos, music & videos to the hard disk not on main memory.

  • N95 fault. Cannot send messages. Memory full clo...

Last weekend my Nokia N95 stopped sending messages and came up with the following error message:
"Unable to send message. General. Memory full. Close some applications and try again".
I have deleted inbox, outbox sent box etc etc.
    No applications are open.
Sofware is the most up to date.
I can send messages without any problems when I put my sim into my sony erricson hanset.
I returned the handset to O2 and was sent a new (well refurbished handset grrrrrrrr) today and the exact same message is coming up and still unable to send messages.
I have to return this hanset now and wait another 10 days for the next refurbished hanset which no doubt will do the same thing.
Like the previous poster I feel like chucking this in the bin!
I am paying £25 a month for this **bleep**py handset and only 4 months into an 18 month contract...
There are a lot of messages on this forum with the same complaint but nobody seems to be able to suggest how to fix it.
    Any suggestions?
    Jill

The latest FW for N95 is V20. This may not be released by operators yet though.
I am also under the impression that you can clear the cache directly from the phones web browser. You should nopt require a file manager however it is very usefull to have one anyway
thanks but don't fsncy invalidating my warranty when I'm having these issues with the phone.
I've tried clearing the cache in the web browser. No change.

  • Nokia C5-03 SIM memory full... but NO SIM MESSAGES...

Hello everyone. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm new here.
Recently my C5-03 has a flashing envelope on the screen saying the SIM memory is full.
I searched on Google and found some topics saying to go to Messages -> SIM messages and delete them...
But problem is... no SIM messages appear! I'm desperate and can't find any other solution... what can I do?!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Hardstylehunt3r,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
Sorry to hear about your issue but there certain steps you can try to resolve this issue.
Memory full messages may occur if there are too many applications running at the same time or if there is not enough free space in the phone memory. Depending on the error message, the following actions can be taken:
"Memory Full: Close some applications and try again"
In this case there are too many applications active at the same time. The problem can be fixed by closing some of the applications:
Long press the Menu key to see the list of active applications.
Select the applications which are not needed and close them.
If this doesn't help, switch off and restart the phone.
"Memory Full: Delete or remove some data from C: Phone memory"
The phone notifies you if the phone memory or memory card memory is getting low. There can be different error messages shown this situation, e.g.:
"Memory Full: Delete or remove some data from C: Phone memory"
"Disk Full : Automatic retrieval of mailbox for exchange disabled"
To free phone memory, transfer some data to the memory card with the File mgr application (select Menu > Applications > File mgr.). Select or mark files to be moved, select Options >Organise > Move to folder and then the destination folder.
In order to free memory, you could also remove or move the following:
Messages from Inbox, Drafts and Sent folders in Messaging.
Retrieved e-mail messages from the phone memory.
Saved Web pages. Clear the web browser cache to free some memory (select Options > Clear privacy data > Cache).
Saved images, videos, or sound files.
    Contact information.
    Calendar notes.
    Downloaded application packages.
If there are applications which are not needed any more, uninstall them (select Menu > Settings > Data mgr. > App.mgr. > Installed apps.).
Any other data that you no longer need
If possible, use the memory card instead of phone memory in the Camera application (selectOptions > Settings > Memory in use to define the memory where the images are stored). You can also use Nokia Suite to transfer images and video clips to your PC.
If you are deleting multiple items and any of the following notes are shown: Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first or Memory low. Delete some data, try deleting items one by one (starting from the smallest item).
    Or you can try this:
To release the phone memory and change the email store from the phone memory to the memory card, follow the steps below.
Select Menu > Messaging and Options > Settings > Other.
Select  Memory in use> Memory card.
To question Copy all messages to the new message memory?, select Yes.
To question Save original messages?, select No if you want to release the phone memory or select Yes if you wish to keep the original messages in the phone memory.
Alternatively you can sync your phone with Nokia suite and clear the messages that way if it is not showing on your device. Full instructions on how to sync can be found on the follwing link:
    http://support.ovi.com/osc/en_GB/service/ovi_on_your_computer/howto/support-suite-syncing-and-backin...,
If this doesnt help you can try doing a soft reset by inputting code *#7780#. This wont delete any data but rather reset your phone settings. If the device ask for a default code this is usually 12345.
There's a lot to try to resolve here so give it a go and let me know if any helps.
    Regards
    Raoul_Duke

  • N95: Memory and AP problems

    Hello,
I have the 11.0.026 firmware in the US but I have found some strange problems:
Often, I get the message "Memory Full - Close some applications". I have only Web browser running but I still frequently get that message. (When I have several applications running, they often just crash). Is the any way of finding out available memory?
Not sure if I need to do some sort of hard reset after some application crashes. Anyway, I find it disturbing that N95 runs out of memory with only browser running. I would like to keep browser, maps and email client running at the same time.
Any idea why memory is full and is this normal?
Also, when I reboot the phone, the phone asks my access point. Why is that? I haven't started any applications yet. In general, AP selection does not work properly (e.g I select WLAN AP and the application has to ask it again every 5 seconds..If I then select packet data AP same thing. Maybe the email client is just broken).
Finally, is there any way of shutting down (disabling) WLAN or GPS (in order to save batteries)

Yes, you can stop the WLAN from Settings-> Connections-> WLAN and choose Never. The GPS does not eat up the battery if not connected, you can increas your battery life by choosing a GSM connection over a UMTS or dual mode. There were some threads about battery life on the N95 try the search discussions with key words N95 and battery. Good luck.
I have something in MY Pocket- the N95!!!
