Doubt regaurding message server in IR, partner profile and transporting XI
Hi guys,
Can someone help me in figuring out the need of message server and group after importing IDOC into IR. where can i find the message server ip address?
I am also wondering in the partner profiles when we need to use logical system (LS) or Supplier/vendors (LI) or Customers/debtor (KU) or etc.?
Please explain how to transport developer xi system to production server?
Cheers
RamHi,
>>>>----> how to transport XI objects to production system?
the easiest way is to use file transport
you can export a file from IR and ID and import it into QAT and then into PRD
all you need for ID is to create transport targets in SLD
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ef/a21e3e0987760be10000000a114084/content.htm
so the names of your systems will change
you can also refer to this:

/people/sap.india5/blog/2005/11/09/xi-software-logistics-ii-overview
but as I mentioned file tranport is the easiest way
>>>>-------> How about the option group?
you can put everything in idoc import menu
and use separate option when asked

Server logical address space is running low
Hi, I have server with NetWare 6.5 SP08.
I get the message:
Server logical address space is running low. Increase the available logical space by restarting the Server with the-u788197376 switch.
What I can do?
Thank you.Jjfbravo,

That switch should not normally be needed. What are you running on this
server? Please run
load config /jumba1se

Message Server Unreachable (after changing IP address at host)
Hi guys,
I changed the IP address in my server. According to note 403708, I updated the new IP address in /etc/hosts. The note also suggests me to change in /etc/services but I see no IP address for me to update.
Later when I restart my sapinstance, I see the disp+work.exe is "Running, but Message Server Unreachable". I've also updated the IP address in SM59 but I see no change.
This is what I got from dev_rfc.trc:
ERROR file opened at 20071206 221839, SAP-REL 620,0,674 RFC-VER 3 549374 MT-SL
T:5048 Error RFCIO_ERROR_MESSAGE in abrfcio.c : 1400
T:5048 <* RfcDispatch [1] : returns 1:RFC_FAILURE
This is what I got from dev_disp:
WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiAddrToHost(1.0.0.0) took 5 seconds
***LOG GZZ=> 1 possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust the DNS settings [dpxxtool2.c 3212]
Anyone has any idea?Yes I'm on Windows, the path that i'm refering is:
winnt/system32/drivers/etc/services
winnt/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
Anyway my prob is fixed now. Probably the problem is due to I did not restart the server after changing the IP. Anyway everything looks pretty fine now
Thanks guys -
JES Messaging Server 6.0 will not accept mail alternate address
JES Messaging Server 6.0 will not accept mail alternate address
I have installed the Sun ONE Messaging server 6.0 as part of an evaluation of the Java Enterprise System. This was installed along with Directory Server 5.2 and Identity Server 6.1. During the installation I created a top level organization (o=internet) knowing that I would want to create multiple email domains within it and a default domain. After the installation was complete I used the User Management Utility (/opt/SUNWcomm/bin/commadmin) to create some users within the default domain. I provided each user with a primary email address ([email protected]) and an alternate email address (mailAleternateAddress = [email protected]).
In testing the system I find that the Messaging Server will not accept messages sent to the alternate email address whether sent from the same server (via Messenger Express) or from an external server. It returns the error message: 550 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias.
In attempting to trouble shoot this problem I have watched the Directory Server's access log when such an email is sent. It shows a query using [email protected] even though the email message was sent to [email protected] In any event the DS finds the user, but the Messaging server rejects the message.
[date_time] conn=120 op=11 msgId=12 - SRCH base="o=domain.com,o=internet" scope=2 filter="(mail=[email protected])" attrs="preferredLanguage mail mailEq
uivalentAddress"
[date_time] conn=120 op=11 msgId=12 - RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=1 etime=0
[date_time] conn=120 op=12 msgId=13 - SRCH base="o=internet" scope=2 filter="(&(objectClass=sunManagedOrganization)(|(associatedDomain=host.domain.com)(sunPreferredDomain=host.domain.com)))" attrs=ALL
[date_time] conn=120 op=12 msgId=13 - RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=0 etime=0
Any suggestions to eliminate this problem would be appreciated.Both the primary and alternate email addresses are the same as the domain of the user.
Here is what I want to do. Email is sent to a primary email server (not this machine). Mail for some users stays on that server to be read and mail for other users is moved to a geographically separate server (the one in question) by specifying that the mail be forwarded to the specific host: [email protected] > [email protected]
On this second server I want to host two (or more) independent email domains. I do not want one of the domains to be a subdomain of the other. So during the installation I used o=internet as the root suffix and then used a different default domain (representing one of the registered internet domains). After installation I used the commadmin tool to create a second domain so now I have what looks something like this:
o=internet,
__ou=People
__ou=Groups
__o=domain1
____ou=People
____ou=Groups
__o=domain2
____ou=People
____ou=Groups
I then created some users under domain1 and some under domain2 so one user's dn is:
uid=user, ou=people, o= domain1.com, o=internet.
Mail sent locally to user@ domain1.com gets delivered correctly, but sending to [email protected] does not.
host2.domain1.com is the fully qualified domain name of the server. -

Sync Sun Messaging Server Address Book with Mac OS X Address Book
Hello,
I am wondering whether there is a way to synchronise my address books inside Sun Message Server and on my Mac?
Does anybody know how do to this? I tried an VCF export of all my contacts from my Mac address book and imported it with the Web mailer interface Sun Java System Communications Express.
The import was done without any errors but all emails and phone data is gone so finally I got several empty contacts.
Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround or a fix available?
Does anybody know a better way for synchronization in both directions and without duplicating all records on a second import?
Thanks in advance and best regards

You can try the demo site here:

Are you able to provide an example of a single exported contact that doesn't work (import into CE)?
Does anybody know a better way for synchronization in both directions and without duplicating all records on a second import?If you can find a syncml client that is able to sync records with the Mac Address Book then you may be able to use the Mobile Communications software to sync contact information:

Messaging Server cannot send email to gmail but can send email to yahoo
I'm using Messaging server 7.0. My company's domain is {color:#ff0000}*sun-vietnam.com*{color} and the email server name is {color:#ff0000}*mail.sun-vietnam.com*{color}, this name is {color:#ff0000}*registered and resolved*{color} correctly in the DNS server of the ISP.
When using an email account form this domain, I can send email to an email address from {color:#ff0000}*yahoo.com*{color} such as {color:#ff0000}****@yahoo.com*{color} and the {color:#ff0000}****@yahoo.com*{color} account can receives this email immediately.
But when I try to send an email address to an email address from {color:#ff0000}*gmail.com*{color} such as {color:#ff0000}****@gmail.com*{color}, the email succesfully sent without no error notified, however the {color:#ff0000}****@gmail.com*{color} account cannot receives this email although I waited for serveral days.
If anyone know the solution to fix this problem, please help me, thanks all of you very much.

I'm so sorry, the administrator in my company didn't provide enough information for me.
Actually, when I sent email to ***@gmail.com, there was a notification sent to me by the system. The error notification is :

Invalid server IP address for Remote Panels under LV 8.0.1
The other messages for troubleshooting the "invalid server IP address" were very helpful with getting my EXE to operate as a remote panel. But there is still one issue that I cannot resolve that seems to be caused by the 8.0.1 upgrade.
The remote panel work perfectly using IE6 on a computer that has the LV 8.0.1 FDS or PDS installed. When I use a computer that has LV 7.1 or no LV at all, the invalid server IP address appears inside the border of where the VI should appear on the HTML page. The connection to the remote computer is correct, the HTML file is delivered by the web server in LV, but the panel part of the page returns the error.
Does the part of the HTML that loads the Run Time Engine need to be updated for 8.0.1? Will the LV 8.0 RTE work for a remote panel on an EXE compiled for LV 8.0.1?
The code is:
var obj = '<OBJECT ID="LabVIEWControl" CLASSID="CLSID:A40B0AD4-B50E-4E58-8A1D-8544233807AD" WIDTH=1216 HEIGHT=915 CODEBASE="ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/labview/runtime/windows/8.0';
if (lng.indexOf("fr") != -1) { obj = obj + '/French'; }
else if (lng.indexOf("de") != -1) { obj = obj + '/German'; }
else if (lng.indexOf("ja") != -1) { obj = obj + '/Japanese'; }
obj = obj + '/LVRunTimeEng.exe">';

How do I host multiple domains on a single Messaging Server?
How do I host multiple domains on a single Messaging Server?
<p>
To host multiple domains on one Messaging Server, use the
mailAlternateAddress attribute. If you want to host two domains
(customer1.com and customer2.com) on your server mail1.domain.com,
make sure that:
The various domains (in DNS) point to the installed mail server
(you must have the MX records that
points mail for customer1.com to mail1.domain.com and
customer2.com to mail1.domain.com)
That each person receiving mail at customer1.com and
customer2.com has an appropriate mailAlternateAddress
attribute describing the appropriate email address. For
instance, John Doe can have an email address (i.e. the value
of the 'mail' attribute for the John Doe LDAP entry) of
[email protected] and receive his mail on
[email protected] (the value of the mailAlternateAddress
attribute)
With Messaging Server 3.5, mailAlternateAddress can take the
form of @mail1.domain.com. If jdoe's mailAlternateAddress is
set to @mail1.domain.com, mail sent to [email protected]
will be delivered to [email protected]jaygatsby1123 wrote:
So what exactly am I doing with virtual hosts? There is a place for Aliases... What would I put in the "Aliases" box?
Any other host name that you want to resolve to the specified virtual host. It's quite literally an alias.
if you want www.example.com and www.example.org to end up at the same web site and you already have a virtual host — Apple refers to virtual hosts as sites — configured for www.example.com in Server.app, then you'd add www.example.org as an alias for the www.example.com virtual host (site).
Virtual hosts are implemented in a web server using some details of the HTTP or HTTPS protocol, and what the web browser (client) specified. The client gets handed an IP address or a domain name by the user, and the client then fetches the associated IP address for the target web server from the client's DNS services or local host database, and the client then connects to the IP address and passes over the text string that the user had requested — the IP address or domain name or even some local shortcut set up in the client system — via the HTTP or HTTPS protocol. The web server receives and processes this arriving text string from the client, and uses it to select which web site to render back to the web client. One subtle detail lurks here, too: the server's own DNS configuration really isn't involved in the selection of the virtual host. -
Integrating calendar server with messaging server
hi all,
i have installed messaging server but am not able to bind messaging server and calendar server together.the calendar server does not start with ./start-cal command.i am attaching the ics.conf file below.
!!!! ics.conf Parameter Specification: You can have three kinds of records
!!!! #1) Uncommented Key: Starts with alphabet [a-z] and in the form a="b"
!!!! #2) Commented key: Start with !!<alphabet> OR !![a-z]
!!!! And in the form !!a="b" (min 7 chars length)
!!!! #3) Commented Lines: Starts with ! But not with !![a-z]
!!!! #4) Records other than types #1, #2, #3 will be ignored or won't be
!!!! processed e.g. blank lines, lines starting with non-alphabets etc..
!!!! All these parameters are SINGLE valued
!!!! Imaginary Domain Names siroe.com, varrius.com, florizel.com, and sesta.com

You can implement a federated portal network (FPN) using the SAP NetWeaver platform to share content between portals.
A federated portal network allows organizations with distributed portal installations, both SAP and non-SAP, to provide a single portal access point per user to portal information, services and applications distributed on portals in the network.
WSRP-based application sharing (FPN Mode used for for integrating content between SAP and Non SAP portals) :-
--> Content administrators on a SAP NetWeaver consumer portal can integrate WSRP portlets (i.e. iViews) from remote non-SAP portals into SAP NetWeaver Portal.
--> SAP NetWeaver developers can create WSRP compliant iViews that can be consumed in non-SAP consumer portals.

Is there any impact chaning ip on sun messaging server?
Hi all,
I have configured and running two sun messaging servers MTA and MS.
e.g
MTA ip address - 192.168.10.1
MS ip address - 192.168.10.2
Is it possible to change ip address on these messaging servers to another ip range? Do I need to change any messaging config file after changing ip address?
Following is my messaging server version:
./imsimta version
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-3.04 (built Jul 15 2005)
libimta.so 6.2-3.04 (built 01:43:03, Jul 15 2005)
SunOS mta3 5.9 Generic_118558-34 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R
Please let me know. Thanks.Question was asked (and answered) here:

Messaging Server IMAP capabilities
What capabilities
does the IMAP server support?
The IMAP server supports these capabilities:
<P>
<UL>
<LI>
IMAP4 (RFC 1730)
<LI>
IMAP4rev1 (RFC 2060)
<LI>
QUOTA (RFC 2087)
<LI>
LITERAL+ (RFC 2088)
<LI>
AUTH=LOGIN
<LI>
X-NETSCAPE
<LI>
XSENDER
<LI>
SCAN
</UL>
AUTH=LOGIN
<UL>Server supports the UW "LOGIN" SASL method. Note that this mechanism
has never been officially published in a standards track document, and
newer implementations are encouraged to use the "PLAIN" SASL method, described
in draft-newman-sasl-plaintrans-02.txt (or newer revisions of that document)
and supported by version 4.0 of the Netscape Messaging Server.
<P>The LOGIN method works as follows for the IMAP4 SASL profile (comments
are <I>offset to the right of the protocol exchange</I>):
<P> C: A001 AUTHENTICATE LOGIN
<BR> S: + VXNlcm5hbWU6AA== <I>'+'
SP base_64(arbitrary_text) CRLF ; (here, "Username:")</I>
<BR> C: Zm9vYmFy
<I>base_64(username) CRLF ; (here, "foobar")</I>
<BR> S: + UGFzc3dvcmQ6AA== <I>'+'
SP base_64(arbitrary_text) CRLF ; (here, "Password:")</I>
<BR> C: c2VjcmV0
<I>base_64(password) CRLF; (here, "secret")</I>
<BR> S: A001 OK Authentication successful
<P>This same basic method and exchange is used for POP and SMTP authentication,
with slight adjustments for protocol differences; i.e. the initiation and
acknowledgement lines will change, but the internal base 64 dialog will
be the same. "arbitrary_text" (anything between the server supplied '+'
and the following CRLF) is not required.</UL>
X-NETSCAPE
<UL>Server supports specific Netscape vendor extensions, enabled by the
NETSCAPE command.
<P> C: A002 NETSCAPE
<BR> S: * OK [NETSCAPE] Netscape Communications Corporation
<BR> S: * VERSION 3.0 SOLARIS
<BR> S: * ACCOUNT-URL "http://jimi-hendrix.mcom.com:1234/"
<BR> S: A002 OK NETSCAPE completed
<P>Description of specific responses:
<UL>
<LI>
"VERSION" SP version_id SP platform CRLF
<UL>version_id and platform are of type astring and contain textual information.
It is not guaranteed that version_id is a simple numeric version as it
may include build date and patch information.</UL>
<LI>
"ACCOUNT-URL" SP url CRLF
<UL>url is of type astring. This response provides the URL of a service
providing administrative options for this server. In the 3.x series server
this info is stored in the master configuration database under the key
"AccountURL" (in /etc/netscape.mail.conf on Unix servers, and in the NT
registry for NT systems.)</UL>
</UL>
Both responses may be considered optional. The server is not guaranteed
to provide either or both or in any particular order. In practice, the
VERSION response is always generated, and the ACCOUNT-URL will be generated
if the server configuration information is present.</UL>
XSENDER
<UL>Server supports a mechanism to retrieve envelope information
<BR>indicating that the message was received via Authenticated SMTP.
<P>The specific mechanism is the addition of a new FETCH parameter "XSENDER";
which returns one astring - the address of the authenticated sender of
the message. This may be used in addition to any other FETCH parameters.
<P> C: A003 FETCH 23 XSENDER
<BR> S: * FETCH 23 (XSENDER "[email protected]")
<BR> S: A003 OK FETCH completed
<P>Fetching XSENDER on a non-verified message will return an empty string.</UL>
SCAN
<UL>Server supports the UW SCAN extension, which is a mechanism to combine
list and searching. Note that this mechanism has never been officially
published in a standards track document. Communicator does not support
it. This capability will NOT be supported in Messaging Server 4.</UL>
The IMAP server also supports an undocumented PROXYAUTH capability which
allows an administrator access to a user mailbox by using the administration
password (this is used by migration tools).

New cyphers, I believe, or both. Particualrly, I wondered the Russian GOST crypto stack.I've asked the developers what would be required to provide support for this encryption routine.Messaging Server uses the NSS libraries to provide the various cipher-suite:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/
If you wanted to get the GOST cipher suite implemented the best place to start would be to ask on the mozilla newsgroup (mozilla.dev.tech.crypto) although as was pointed our by a Messaging Server developer, implementing the GOST suite is far from straight-forward which may explain why nobody has implemented it till now.
I did however find the following RFC which may help your endeavours:

Messaging Server can't find local accounts
I recently upgraded to Messaging Server 3.5, and it is bouncing all
local mail. I checked the Users & Groups and all accounts still exist.<P>
Try telnetting to the SMTP port on the mail server and confirming the
user's address; it may be unknown to the server. If the LDAP entries
for user accounts use the "cn" addtribute in the dn for the user, like
this:<P>
dn: cn=jbarksdale
<P>
... then go to the Messaging Server admin pages, go to Server
Preferences, and choose the LDAP Routing Configuration. The "Search by
user ID (uid)" box is checked by default. Uncheck the box and restart
the Messaging Server, and this should solve the problem.<P>I recently upgraded to Messaging Server 3.5, and it is bouncing all
