Messaging Settings Other Folder View problem on...

I've gone into messaging settings > other and then folder view on my Nokia N73 and changed it to 2 lines
When I look at my message inbox it's split down the middle with the senders name on the left and on the right I can see a small preview of the text (the first few words)
I don't like this view, so changed the folder view back to 1 line to all I can see in my message inbox is the name of the sender and it doesn't change back
I've deleted all my texts from the inbox and changed back to 1 line folder view, but I'm still getting 2 line view
can anyone help
hmm...i cant seem to reproduce that on my N73 so maybe u just need to do something stupid like restart the phone or *#7370# it....
actually i didnt even know about the 1 line view, and i kinda like it so thanks for that

I don't have an iPhone. My friend does and we have been texting for 6 months and havn't had any problems. All of a sudden I cannot get her text messages. She revieces mine but i cannot recieve her's. I can also text other iPhone users with no difficulty at all.
What is happening?I would have your friend first do a reset on her iPhone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. Also, SMS is a carrier feature and if she is having trouble, she might want to contact her carrier and have them double check her account provisioning. It might just need a reset on their end.

I'm talking about 6 or 7 folders that would have customized view preferences, while the rest are just regular folder views (as with white backgrounds, etc).

How can I create a filter that automatically copies sent items to other folder than "sent" folder?
I tried to create filter which automatically copies sent to different recipients messages to other folder than "sent". I tried many times with different setting but it doesn't work. With inbox messages it works fine.
Thank youIf you want to 'reply' to an email, but you want the sent reply to auto appear in the same folder of the message you are replying to.
Tools > Account Settings > Copies & folders for the mail account
There is a checkbox to select: 'Place replies on the folder of the message being replied to'
then click on OK to save changes.
If you want all sent emails not just replies to got to different fodlers based on who you sent the email to, then you would need to create a filter which when manually run moves selected emails to specific folders.
So let the sent emails get auto stored in Sent folder.
Tools > Message Filter
click on New
give filter suitable name
Apply filter when: manually run
select 'match all of the following'
To is email address
Perform these actions
Move message to and select the folder.
Do not enable.
When you need to run this filter,
open Message filter.
enable only the filters you require
Run selected filters on: Sent folder on the mail account
click on 'run now'
Best used when you have several sent emails which you need moving.
Not exactly what you are looking for, but works if organising loads of sent emails. -
Message Tracking and Queue Viewer access is denied - Exchange 2010

I am experiencing Message Tracking and Queue viewer problems on my exchange server.
Message Tracking problem
When i run message tracking via EMC or powershell, i receive the following error;
Failed to connect to the Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search server on computer "myserver.mydomain.com.br". Verify that a valid computer name was used and the Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search service is started on the target computer. The
error message is: "Access is denied".
Exchange Transport Log Search service is confirmed running and have tried by restarting the service
Logon user is a member of Domain Admins, Enterprise Admins and Exchange Organization Administrators
Message Tracking Logs are generated properly
Queue Viewer problem
When i run Queue viewer, i receive the following error;
The Queue Viewer operation on computer "myserver.mydomain.com.br" has failed with exception. The error message is: Access is denied. It was running command.............................................................
My server information are as follow;
4 Exchange Server 2010 sp3
2 Mailbox Server and 2 Hub/CAS
Mail-flow is working fine
What should I grant permission for a group of users can have access to the Message Tracking ?

How to Get A Default Folder View That Overrides Other Settings?
Hi Thanks for checking my question. Now I have a default folder view that display things nicely every time I open finder. But whenever I attach a external drive or a card reader or connect to a networked drive, my default setting is overridden by all the previous folder views I had for those hard drives/cards/network locations. Is there a way to use my folder view settings in the highest priority, so that whatever I opened in finder (local, external or remote) will show itself in the same manner?
Any enlightenment is appreciated.Actually the view I get from opening a folder seems to depend on HOW I opened it as well. If I clicked finder on the dock and navigate to my Downloads folder I get the view I want, but if I opened Downloads folder by clicking its dock icon (as a stack I guess?) the view is the same old view I got before I changed my default folder view. How can I fix this so I may have a very consistent-looking finder window?

Sent Mail now put in seperate 'Sent Messages' folder - big problems
Never had this problem before. I have my MobileMe account set to sync everything to the server across my 10.5.8 MacBookPro and 3.0.1 iPhone 3GS. Sent Mail has always been put in the standard 'Sent' folder and we've got along fine.
The other day I was setting up my email on a 10.5.7 iMac and when it did the mail sync, it created a new folder called 'Sent Messages (.me)' and preceded to put all the synced up sent messages in this folder instead of the standard 'Sent' folder at the top of the Mail.app application.
Now its a right mess. On the iPhone I can not select 'Sent' in the 'On the Server' list when choosing where to put sent mail. It only offers 'Sent' 'On My iPhone' and shows the 'Sent Messages (.mac)' on the other list.
How do I hit the reset button and get this back to where it was before with 'Sent' folder sync bliss?
Do I need to remove the accounts from all machines and start again?
Could 10.5.7 on the iMac be the culprit?

I've had the same symptoms suddenly appear while using an IMAP account. Sent mail is no longer saved in the Sent folder -- unlike you, I can't find any of my new Sent mail. (but mail sent from my iPhone does show up) The same flurry of extra IMAP-related folders has also appeared, including the "Sent Messages" folder, just below the "Sent" folder.
So, it doesn't seem to be a .mac issue. I hadn't changed any settings today before I noticed that it started happening. -

Problem: By default text messages are in conversation view.
1) Does "Asha 308" Support folder "View Flders"?
2) If yes then please tell the method!
3) If not then how can this feature be suggested to Nokia, so it can in incorporated in any new mobile software release.There is no such way to view them in folder view and I see no need of a separate folder view as the conversation view was only implemented when there were plenty of requests for the same.
Its a good feature, allows easy chatting. Still, if you wish to leave feedback for the implementation of a folder view, you can contact Nokia using appropriate media, not here. -
Is there a way to view all the messages in a folder containing subfolders?
I use Mac Mail for my work email (becuase I hate entourage...), but the way it displays messages within folders is really inconvenient. Let's say I have a folder for a client (Brand XYZ) and within that folder I have subfolders (Campaign A, Project B, Other). If I want to view all the emails for the highest folder (Brand XYZ) there doesn't seem to be an option to view all the messages for that folder without going through each subfolder and viewing its contents.
How I see it:
Brand XYZ - only generic emails that don't pertain to a specific topic
Campaign A - only emails regarding this campaign
Project B - only emails regarding this project
How I want to see it:
Brand XYZ - ALL EMAILS; generic emails that don't pertain to a specific topic & emails within subfolders
Campaign A - only emails regarding this campaign
Project B - only emails regarding this project
Is there any way of doing this??? Thanks for the help!No, you can't mix "all" and "any" filters. You can only select one. I haven't had a lot of success using boolean for filtering. Only thing I can say is try it. If it works for you in the Mail search window, it should work in the smart mailbox search.
For creating search criteria filters, only thing I can suggest is think about what you want it to show. Then look at the criteria given in smart mailboxes and think about what the best way to achieve it would be using the any or all. You may need to create seperate SMs for different criteria. As I said, you can put smart mailboxes in a smart mailbox folder, but you can put a SM in a local mailbox or within another SM.
You could also use SM in conjunction with the local mailboxes. If you are moving messages to seperate local mailboxes, you could just use the SM to view all messages from a particular client. That would make more since than moving the message to a main local mailbox and then copying them to subfolders so they can be viewed from both. The big downside to that is duplicate messages, but if it works for you then that's OK. -
I got a problem on running the iTune 64bit on Windows 7, error message says " the folder "itunes" is on a locked disk or your do not have write permission for this folder. Any one ran into this problem ?
It worked before.Open Disk Utility via Spotlight or in the Applications folder stored within the Utilities folder. Close all applications and 3rd party software and choose "Repair Disk Permissions." Reboot the computer when finished, and test to see if the issue is resolved.

Hidden network drives "home" and "net" shown in folder view Adobe Bridge CS5 / Lion Problem
Updated to Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion and got this "problem":
The hidden network drives "home" and "net" shown in folder view Adobe Bridge CS5 (unlike in 10.6 Snow Leopard).
Normally these network drives are hidden (in Finder and other Apps) - but Adobe Bridge CS5 is showing them, despite "show hidden files" is unchecked in Adobe Bridge.
Not a dramatic "bug", but it also shouldn't be a big problem for Adobe Bridge engineers to solve this. My first question to the Adobe Support was answered like: "we don't know what Apple did change, so we cannot do anything". Hmmm, are you serious?
I tried to resolve that problem by myself but failed. So, if an Adobe engineer is reading this post: perhaps Adobe Bridge is ignoring the automounter master map (that was my approach to resolve it):

You cannot do anything to these folders, so it is not a serious issue, but, I mean, did someone at Adobe check compatibiliy with 10.7 and ignored this issue? If so, are there an other issues ignored?

I had a similiar problem once and I got a meesage back from Apple: "that it is a 3rd party problem, sorry" (it was about color management).
I am just a user and I often feel very strange about Apple's (topsecret) communication behaviour ... Whatever, what do I know about software engineering? - Right.
Maybe someone on this forum has an idea, because I'm afraid, thus it is not a serious bug, no one would take care about it in the next time (during my research I found an older post here on the forum about the same problem ...).

Problem With Elements 10 Organizer Showing Wrong Files in Folders (In Folder View)
I just got started using Elements 10 on Windows XP and have had some problems with the Organizer. Once it was installed and had cataloged all my photos, I made sure to only move files and folders to different locations from within Organizer. However, now it seems to have lost track of which photos are in which folder. It will "remember" that there are 3 photos in a folder (in Folder View) and only show three photos in that folder, but they will be 3 random photos from a different location. Opening that item shows that thumbnail and referenced file are the same, so it isn't just a thumbnail problem. And looking in the actual folder with Windows Explorer shows that right photos. I'm not sure if I should run an Optimize or Repair on the catalog or if there is something else I can do to fix the problem. I don't need to use Folder View too often, but sometimes I do and I use it to reorganize the actual locations of files. Not sure what would happen if I did it now (with the obvious catalog confusion).
Any thoughts?

torreyindyImage size. I have been scanning old 35mm images. Any image greater than about 8100 pixels causes thumbnails to fail - this sounds like being around 2 to the power of 23 but what a really odd combinatin that is.
8100 pixels? All of my photos are larger than that, and I don't have this problem. Do you mean 8100 pixels on a side? There is a known limitation in PSE that photos above a certain pixel size on a side cannot be displayed in the Organizer. I no longer remember what that size is, perhaps someone else can chime in. Scanning your images to be 8100 pixels on a side would be overkill for me; however maybe for you its an important thing to do.
I have about 10,000 photos in the catalog but need to load up about another 5,000 historic images, and we take about 1,500 images per annum.
This is not a problem for PSE.
I have played with databases, so if i can get into the organizer database (at least to do backups), ideally with Access, that would be brilliant. Any suggestions?
If you are going to play with the database through Acess, I think you will fail. I believe that PSE uses SQLite as its database, so you have to use SQLite to view the contents. If you are going to do this, work only on a copy of the database. As this is a long-standing bug in PSE (since at least PSE6), and no one that I know of has found a workaround, and people have reported that the rest of PSE behaves as if the photos are where they are expected to be, my guess is that the bug is in the way PSE displays the photo location in folders. And if that's the case, that the database is correct and its only the display that is incorrect, then there's really nothing you can do to fix that; monkeying around with the database itself won't help.

I agree with you, this is a shame that PSE has this problem and it has gone unfixed since PSE6. Your choices are:
use tags and captions and notes to organize in Thumbnail view, and not use Folder Location View
stop using Organizer, use your operating system to browse your folders, only use the PSE Editor
switch to Lightroom, which has a quality Organizer (called the "Library Module") that doesn't seem to have this particular bug, and in general seems very solid, behaves well and is relatively bug free. (Lightroom 3 currently on sale in the vicinity of $79 (USD) as the anticipation is that Lightroom 4 will be released soon)
switch to other organizing software, there are many, but I make no recommendations as I have tried only PSE and Lightroom -
Folder View - Folders arranged alphabetically first than all other files ..

is it possible to view folders like windows or linux?
I found nothing in the internet, only a lot of of people having the same problem like me.
I want a folder view, where the folders came first sorted alphabetically than all other files ( not sorted after kind ) arrange alphabetically.
Making a "space" or other symbol like "!" oder "_" is no option for me.
If you use "Pathfinder" or "muCommandr" or "xFolder" you have this view. why is this not possible to select this view out of the box.( This should be no problem or ?)
And please no discussion whether this view makes sense, for me it makes sense for other maybe not.

If you want to report this to Apple, either send Feedback or send bug reports and enhancement requests via its Bug Reporter system. To do the latter, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure over submitting feedback is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering. -
Folder 'View' settings via PowerShell?
I have a need to copy a folder and make sure it is showing Medium Icon view. I had hoped that the Medium Icon setting was just folder metadata and would copy with the folder, but that seems not to be the case. So now I am trying to figure out where this
info is stored, and how to modify the setting with PowerShell. Given that the manual approach is not to right click on the folder, but within the folder, I am stumped in how to proceed.
GordonThere's a tool called ShellBagsFolder which can be used to determine which registry key contains the folder view settings, but I strongly suspect this would be different for each computer. There are a series of GUIDs that are also associated with the
folder (there's no human readable string that has the folder path) which you might be able to search for and find the hook between the folder path and the registry key so you don't need the third party utility as part of your script.

If you download and install it and run it, you can search through the list of folders that will be displayed, right-click on it, and select Open Slot Key in Registry to open Regedit to the parent key for the folder.

Is there an app for Mac OS 9 that will allow me to change the global folder view settings for things like Window Size & Position, Order of Columns, and Icon or List View? It seems that I spend too much time trying to get new windows to look like I want them to. I have searched for shareware apps with no success.

I'm not aware of any 3rd-party utility that can do all of that, or even much of it.
There is a work-around that will take care of most of it.
When a folder is created via the New Folder item in the File menu, that folder is automatically granted the defined characteristics (view, order, arrangement, etc.) of the enclosing, or parent, folder. For this purpose, the desktop is considered to be a folder.
If you have a preferred group of settings, set up an empty folder with those settings. Put it in a convenient place. Then, when you want to create a folder with those same characteristics, open that folder and create the new folder within it. The new daughter folder will be given the characteriestics of the parent folder. You can then move the newly created folder wherever you want, and it will retain those settings.
