Messaging to a Group...

Hello, new to the forum, this might appear to be a numpty question, but i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong...
I recieved a Blackbery Storm 2 yesterday and i'm trying to send a message to a group that i've created, i've created the group and i can select the group but i want to delete 1 of the recipients, when i do this the message also gets deleted, am i doing something wrong...
The reason i want to do this is because i get jokes of friends and then forward them on, but usually the guy thats sent me the joke is in my group so i want to remove him so he doesn't get his joke back, hope that makes sense, i can remove the recipient but the message gets deleted too...

Yep, your question makes sense, but you can't delete a member of the group to receive the message, as you indicated.

How can I send text messages to a group?

Cant find an option to send a text message to a group that I have created in my contacts...either via the standard messaging app or with the Verizon messaging app. Does that mean that neither of these apps have that capability?

That's definitely odd, bwoolard. Let's help make sure you are able to send these texts to these groups. To begin, what type of contact is this group saved through? Is it as a standard phone contact that may be saved via Backup Assistant, or saved as a Google backup contact?

When I send a message in a group with non-iPhone users it appears as "New Multimedia Message." One of my friends in the group also has an iPhone and his doesn't appear this way, how do I change my settings so it appears as a normal text message and not an mms?

When I enter a group name into the Bcc field and try to send the message, I get "[group name] is not a valid e-mail address..."

Been using the same template to send a weekly newsletter for a year or two but now with a recent update to Thunderbird the group name is rejected when I try to send the message:

* While composing an email open the address book and select the list you are trying to send to, highlight all the names in the list and drag them to the To: box. This uses your existing data without modifying it.

jlabianco, we want sending group messages to be easy breezy for you! Make sure that you've set up groups for your contacts on your device by tapping People> Groups>Tap the Plus sign to start a new group>Choose the contacts that you want in that group.
Once the group is set up in "People," you will just need to tap People>tap the Group> Tap the menu at the top right corner> Send Message. Keep us posted.

You can't. You can't without a 3rd party app. I have developped a free application, Easy Group, to create your groups directly on iPhone, and then to send group text and group emails.

It sounds like you need to enable Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone for your iPad to send MMS/SMS messages through your phone.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.

How to create a message check boxes group dynamically in OA Framework

Hi all,
I am developing a custom OAF page. It is a master-detail page. And I am having some difficulties to build that.
Firstly, I need to create a dynamic message check boxes group. These check boxes will get the prompt from a standard database table's column. Let's say I have table X with description column and it has 7 rows. Values of description column are A,B,C, ...etc. Then my master region on the page will have 7 check boxes with the prompts of A,B, C... Check box number will depend on the row/rows that this table has.
The other requirement is to create master and detail rows that depends on the number of any checked check boxes. If 2 check boxes are checked then we need to create 2 rows of master data and detail data too.
Does any of you have any ideas or suggestions to do that?
It is urgent, any help would be appreciated.

I checked the output type MLGR, it is not sending the external email ids also it can send the message only to the user entered in the condition record. Also the GR posting is not accessing to the conditions given in the condition record table. It is fetching only the User detail from the condition table. Hi,
Mail access / authorization is one of the reasons for not getting mails.Have you tried to give message manually inMB02? I think you should take a look at the problem of authorization. The process of using output type MLGR is that a mail is sent to the buyer through the purchase group entered in the PO. Check in IMG>MM>Purchasing>Creating Purchase Groups. An email address should have been maintained there.
Alternatively, try creating an output entry using Medium 7 (as you did), but partner function $1, BU or ME. This should trigger an email to the Buyer who created the order.
This may require you to configure these partner functions for the particular output type. I suggest you make a copy of MLGR.

I can read messages in a group chat but can't send any?

I am able to join group chats in messages but I cant send anything. I am on Mavericks (had the same issue on Mountain Lion as well) and using AIM for messages, I also have an iMessage account and a jabber account active.
I used to be able to log off and quit messages a few times and then I could send messages to the group. Now I cant even do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't (in the app).
Basically in Messages or iChat > Preferences > Accounts > AIM account > Server settings will show you the Login and Text chat port.
However this is only for basic 1-1 chats.
For a long time the port used to be 5190 on the TCP protocol.
However if your did Direct IMs in iChat pr sent files or pics then it moved to the UDP protocol.
Since about iChat 6 the login port has been 443 (you will see this change recommended in many earlier posts on the subject)
This is a port that is below the 1024 threshold that routers have the ports open for all devices that are connected.
The ports above this port have to be specifically opened.
UPnP is the most common method as it allows multiple devices to use the Same ports.
Also the ports will close after a period on none use (although this can be 30 mins later).
This Direct IM/File Sharing port cannot be changed in the app.
You have to make sure it is open in the router (And in any third party firewalls you might be using.)

Thanks for the reply - I think I've sorted it though and there isn't actually an issue.
The whole group wasn't receiving the NDR, only the group manager which I setup a few weeks prior. This is a new feature so it complies with certain RFC's, basically the group manager will recieive the NDR to let them know there is a problem.
Something to do with mass mailing and unsolicited mail.

Assuming that is what you mean, I don't think the groups in the contact list work for texts etc.
I've not got my 6230i with me, but I think you can set up 'mailing list' kinda things - look in the options under messages.
If you've not found it, or no one else has replied by the time I get home, I'll have a look and reply again with a more precise solution lol

Without the Apple ID you can't get a password reset email. The link I gave above can help you recover the Apple ID as well, though, via your security questions. If you don't know those either, then you may be out of luck, though you can try calling Apple Support and asking to speak with Account Security and see if they can help, though you're going to have to prove that you actually own that Apple ID and aren't just trying to get illegal access to someone else's account.
