Messaging won't open E72

I would think that a new phone wouldn't have any problems, yet I just got this E72 and I' having problems. With or without my 16gb card inside. Messaging won't open. Everything else works fine, Email works, Contacts works, everything else work. I remember "settings" being a little hesitant just now but it's not a problem I can still use it.
So no matter how I go about loading "messaging" it'll flash or act like it open and then nothing. I can use my shortcut and create a new message and then send it (or put it the Outgoing). Sigh... I wipe the 4gb card clean too.
I'll try a full reset. (Hard)

mmmk did *#7370# 12345 and did a hard reset. Then I see that my memory card didn't get reformatted. Make a note of that. Since it didn't get reformatted it attempted to install programs on the card that aren't there anymore. After I took it out and cleared out and reformatted on the E72 Messaging is working like it should. HOPEFULLY after I reinstall all the programs I need it'll still be working.

  • Messages won't open, citing ContactsUI error

I just downloaded a security update (2014~005), and now my Messages app won't open. It immediately says "Messages quit unexpectedly while using the ContactsUI plug-in." Is there an easy fix for this?
    Mavericks 10.9.5

You ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Mail "New Message" won't open a new window

When I open Mail and do "File/New Message" no window opens to compose a new message. Is it because the Preferences file is corrupted? Can someone suggest a solution to this problem?

    Hi Paul,
If you are running v10.5.3 as your profile suggests, you need to update your system software.
Click your Apple Menu / Software Update...
You can try troubleshooting the Mail .plist file.
Go to ~/Library/Preferences and move the com.apple.mail.plist file to the Desktop.
Relaunch Mail. Try File / New Message. If it works, then move that .plist file to the Trash.
Note. Make note of your Mail / Preferences BEFORE trashing the .plist file.

  • IPhoto error message - won't open at all!!!

Anytime I try to use iPhoto I recieve the following message:
"You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto" with the only option being quit.
I have downloaded the newest version and tried installing, but also won't accept that. I have also started using the shift + options and that does nothing to fix the problem either.

I'm having the same exact problem. I have an iBook G4, no CD is in the drive. I just got my computer back from applecare and uploaded all my photos into there, it was working fine, then all of a sudden BAM! it was coming up with that error

  • Error message:Won't open an iphoto library file & will not import new pix

I have deleted some files from iPhoto library in an effort to get more disk space. Trying to import from camera. Getting error message that says it cannot open File 2002/01/11. That file has been deleted. Clicked continue and message kept popping up. When download was "complete" it did not show up in last import folder or in main library folder. What am I doing wrong? At least I changed setting to keep photos on camera disk after import. I should warn you that I am not the brightest pea in the pod when it comes to new technology.

Thanks, I KNEW it was something I did. Never had any trouble before.
There is no way I can retrieve the deleted files. Emptied trash many times since then. Camera has been in repair shop for several weeks. And, as you already know, you are correct that I was deleting without iPhoto being launched.
I am using 2.0.1. It's not clever enough to update it's files? And what does that have to do with importing new pix? I have not gotten my 15 page list out to see if the photos I deleted are still in the albums.
In the future, should I delete from the main library? or the album? if I want them permanently gone (while in iPhoto, of course). It was so much easier to delete from a numerical list than to have view the photos, but I will not do that again if it is not good for my application.

  • Instaverse gives error message, won't open

When I try to open InstaVerse, I get an error message reading "access violation at address 005BEC46 in module InstaVerse.exe.
    Read of address 00000024"

This seems that you are having an issue with Instaverse, not Firefox. this is a Firefox help side. Are you having a Mozilla Firefox issue we can help you with?

  • Messages won't open?

When I try to open a received message I just get a spinning pin wheel. I get an alert message that says 'connection to the server mail.mac.com on port 993 timed out and thats it. Can someone help me with this?

it seems that over the past few days there have been intermittent connectivity issues with .mac, and users have had problems with sending/receiving and not being able tget their .mac account online. I for one have experienced this. So far, either waiting or quitting Mail and starting again have done the trick for me. In any case there is nothing wrong with your set up on your computer I am quite sure.
In your case you cannot open that email because it has not finished downloading and the connection to the server was lost in the middle of the download. I would suggest you wait and try again later and/or send feedback to .mac about this so they know their services are not 100% online.
    hope this helps

  • Messages won't open after software update

I just updated my Macbook Pro today. It was a Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 and OS X Yosemite Update 10.10.2. After my Macbook restarted, popups appeared saying Mail and Messages could not be opened because of "a problem." The popup for Messages says "Check with the developer to make sure Messages works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X."
I reopened the App Store and I noticed the same update I just completed was there again under Updates Available. I updated my Macbook a second time. Same issue. I see the same Update Available for Yosemite and Thunderbolt Firmware again. Anyone having the same issues? Thanks.

    Try re-indexing Spotlight.
    Spotlight – Re-index
    Hide Update in Mavericks
    For Mail and Messages.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

  • Messages in a thread won't open - Exchange iOS 8.1.1

When I get multiple messages in a thread in my Exchange folder, I am unable to open any of the messages. They are shown with a >> at the right of the thread. Single messages open just fine, but threads with multiple messages won't open.
This is a new problem since my upgrade to iOS 8.1.1.
I'm seeing nothing posted about this problem anywhere.
I've deleted this mail account and recreated it.
I was able to open threads for a day, then not.
    Any ideas?

I updated my iPad mini 2 this week to iOS 8.1.3.
Unfortunately, all PDFs and many EPUBs disappeared from iBooks.
Next i realized, that iBooks content is not saved in iCloud as part of the backup.
For me, iBooks with EPUB and PDFs was a main reasons to buy more Apple products. Loosing them during an update is such a disaster.
Hope, that Apple will solve this ASAP and spends a tiny fraction of the last quarter earnings into software quality ...

  • Mobile messaging unable to open.

At first, my WhatsApp wouldn't open and my phone is really slow anyway. So I synced my contacts, messages, photos and videos to my Nokia Suite, then did a hard reset to my phone; the *#7370#. When it's back on, I try to use messaging but it won't open. Downloaded WhatsApp again and it worked fine. Synced all nicely except for the messages. Guess it's because the messaging won't open. What's wrong with it. Furthermore, there's also other software that is preinstalled when I got it that won't open but I don't use them anyway. But I need my messaging. So please help.
Also did the hard and soft reset again, still won't open. Got my friend to send me a text to see if I can receive it but I can't. So messaging not opening, not receiveing text, can't read texts since the program won't open. Is there a link or installer file I can download? Please help.
    Thanks.

Hi,I am facing the issue of opening text message, any media file, data file like worksheet, whatsapp on my Nokia E-63 phone.I  have been using the phone since last 2yrs and haven't faced such a problem.
Can you let me know what can be done in this case as I already tried removing the battery and switching off the phone but this couldnt help.

  • Mail 8.1 won't open links from messges

When reading a message,  links within the message won't open. When I 2 finger click on the link, the drop-down window ask  "open, open link behind mail, copy link, services" . None of them work.
Before Yosemite. I could 2 finger click and choose whatever, my preference was "open behind mail". Always worked.....
Now 2 finger (right) click does nothing.... If I just click on the link, it opens my browser on top of mail.

I just want to link to these earlier threads so you don't get a lot of duplicate suggestions that have already been covered there:
    * [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1018542 Firefox won't open email links after update to version 32]
    * [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1023202 No tab opens when I click on a link if any Firefox window is already open]
(There might be others, but those are the ones I've seen)
Work is proceeding on [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1017595 Bug #1017595 – Links from external applications sometimes fail to open when Firefox is hidden] but as you can tell from the title, this is focused on the problem of Firefox not coming out of hiding from the dock or coming out of hiding but not loading the page. If this also occurs when Firefox is not hidden at all, there may be a secondary issue. But hopefully solving the one will solve the other. Unfortunately, I don't know whether it will be in time for Firefox 33.

  • Itunes won't open after upgrade/no error message

I had an older version of ITunes that was working fine until I wanted to buy music that required an upgrade to 7.and the download seemed to go fine but after the installation,I was unable to launch/open the program or access my library.I've removed it once and reinstalled and still nothing.I'm totally frustrated.I've checked firewalls and everything else I can think of and wish now that I just had my old copy of Itunes back so I could at least copy CD's onto my IPOD. When I click on the Itunes icon, nothing happens. I've never gotten any type of error message. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Jason,I used the troubleshooting link you gave and so far have 1.Fixed Digital Signing for Windows drivers.(didn't help) 2.Removing Itunes configuration files.
In this one I was told to delete the SC info.sidb file (I didn't have one of these when I got to the folder where it was supposed to be)The thing I haven't done is the mscofig.instruction. I was saving it for last as it sounded like it could really make a lot of changes to my computer. The Itunes installation icon is still on my desktop so I clicked on it and there was a link that said it would repair missing or damaged files in the Itunes software. It didn't help either. I can click on Itunes all day long and it won't open.I can't access the library either. I am going to do the last step you suggested and uninstall my security software and see if that helps. I appreciate all the help Jason.

  • ITunes won't open and a Windows error message pops up

I downloaded iTunes 10.2.2.12 awhile ago.  It worked fine the first time.  Ever since then, whenever I plug in my ipod, my laptop recognizes and says it's syncing but iTunes won't open.  I double click on iTunes and I get an error message from Windows saying that an error has occurred and it needs to close iTunes but it never even opens up.  (The message doesn't give any error codes.)  I've tried completely uninstalling iTunes and all its components and then reinstalling it but I get the same error message.  I have Windows XP 2002 Home Edition SP 3.  Please help.  Thanks.

    Many thanks.
Yes, it is an "iTunes has encountered a problem" error.  The ModName: dnssd. dll        The ModVer: 2.0.5.0     Offset: 0000246c
With that one, by way of experiment, let's try disabling your Bonjour Service.
In your Start menu, right-click My Computer and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
    ... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch properly this time?
