Messaging wont send or receive once a day

Every day, my phone does this thing where it wont send or receive Imessages or Text Messages and I have to do a hard reboot for it to work again. Any Ideas? It has done it the last 5 days in a row, then it works okay again.

Did you already try to set it up as new device?

  • Changed my iTunes password, not iMessage wont send or receive SMS

Hi! Like the title says, I had to change my iTunes password and now iMessage on my macbook wont send or receive SMS messages when it did previously.  I have enabled messaging and FaceTime.  I've restarted all devices (iphone5s, iPad mini, and MacBook Pro) and updated iCloud and all passwords.  Everything else appears to have connected smoothly, except for this.   Any ideas how I can fix this?
    Thanks in advance!

I tried to post in a few others and kept getting this message.

  • Not working: Send subscription emails: Once per day?

    Seasons Greetings,
Can someone please clarify/confirm what I should have in My Settings in Subscription Preferences.
    They are currently:
Always subscribe to topics I create: Yes
Always subscribe to topics I reply to: Yes
Send subscription emails: Once per day
It's the last option that doesn't seem to work for me. Yesterday after spending a bit of time helping out all the new nano owners I opened Mail and has 67 posts yesterday, with 25 today so far.
Here's an example of 5 separate replies to one subject (numbered by me):
    1. You have requested mail to be sent to you when messages to the Apple Discussions topic "how do I know when it is fully charged" are posted. hudgie posted "how do I know when it is fully charged" on Dec 27, 2005 12:25:46 PM.

I have some with more than 5 but I don't want to bore you too much
What I really expected with 'Send subscription emails: Once per day' was a digest listing all replies to all posts for a 24 hour period.
Have I misunderstood or is something wrong?

    Hi Marius,
If you are having an issue with being unable to send from the Messages application on your iPod touch, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

My sons iPhone is under my apple id. He completed a software update earlier and now receives my text messages I send and receive- how do I disable this feature??

This happens when you both use the same Apple ID for iMessage.  You can continue to share the same ID for pruchasing from the iTunes & App stores, but you should be using a different ID for iMessage.  To fix this you have two choices:
On one of the phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID (so you are both using a different ID for iMessage); or
On both phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and uncheck the email address(es) shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at".  Also uncheck anyone else's phone number, if present.

  • Mail worked for a week now suddenly wont send or receive

    Hi
My wife has a new iMac with Leopard 10.5. We set up her email with no problems. Suddenly, after a week, Mail can't send or receive - we get the 'can't authenticate' error' and the dreaded exclamation icon. Nothing has been changed, the internet provider can't help, and trying her account on my iMac works just fine. We have tried deleting her account and resetting it - which works but then it provides another similar error message once creating is complete.
Any ideas? We can't fathom this - working one day, not the next and not ever since, with not a single setting being adjusted here or on the server side. Please help!
    Thanks
    Rod

if the same settings work on your imac as opposed to hers, then the first thing i would suggest you try is log in as a different user on her imac - create a test user e.g. - then launch mail and create her account and see if she can send/receive.
if she can under that new user, then it is user specific and the following should be tried under her user account 1) quit mail, then trash com.apple.mail.plist in homefolder/library/preferences - you will have to recreate the account once you launch mail again, 2) repair permissions in applications/utilities/disk utility.
if she cannot under that new user, then it may be app/systemic specific and i would suggest you do an archive and install from the leopard disk that came with the mac and then try again.
    hope this helps

  • IPhone 4s wont send or receive pictures.

One day my iPhone 4s decided to stop letting me send or receive pictures except with other iPhone users. I've googled like crazy and tried to restore but nothing fixes it. Helppp!

You would need to contact Vodafone via phone or online chat (depending on what options they offer). The option that allows pictures, audio, video, etc to be sent via messaging is MMS (Multi-media Messaging Service). If you are certain that MMS is turned on within the settings menu on your phone, the only other possibility is an issue with the provisioning by your cellular provider.

  • Ipod touch 5th gen wont send or receive texts while connected to specific internet

My iPod touch 5th gen (iOS 8.3) won't send or receive texts from my home internet. iMessage works everywhere else except for at home and I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem or if it has more to do with the actual internet connection. Up until a week ago I could send and receive messages but out of nowhere it stopped working. Everyone else's Apple devices (primarily iMessage) in my family work fine but my iPods iMessage won't work.
Safari works and all of my internet required apps work as well excluding iMessage.
If anyone has a solution or advice it would be much appreciated.
I've tried resetting my settings, network settings, signing out of my Apple ID, and making sure I have the correct time and date. I have reset my interent multiple times too.
    Thanks.

Sure sounds like that the networks is blocking the ports required by Messages. See:

  • Wont send or receive emails

    Hi there,
I have been using thunderbird for my work emails for about 5 months with no problems. At half 5 this evening I was no longer able to send or receive emails.
When I click "get mail" it just says "looked up mail.pitman-training.net..." instead of "No new messages" or whatever at the bottom and no emails come through. (I know there are emails waiting to come through because I have send several tests through from my personal webmail account)
When I try to send an email I get the following error:
    Sending of message failed.
An error occurred sending mail: SMTP server smtp.pitman-training.net is unknown. The server may be incorrectly configured. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again.
I checked all my server settings and they are all correct.
Im using version 24.3.0. im using win 7.
    Any ideas?
I desperately need to access these emails for work.

You are having DNS issues, if your in a corporate environment you will need to contact your help desk as the DNS server might have died or other server issues arisen, for smaller scale a good start would be to turn off all devices including modems, routers and firewall devices for 60 seconds and power them up again.

  • HT204053 i have 2 phones on my apple id account since setting up i cloud yesterday all text messages i send or receive to other people who have iphones are showing on both phones

I have 2phones on my apple id account. since setting up ios6 yesterday and icloud i have discovered that if i send or receive messages to other iphones those messages appear on both phones. how can i alter this

This is the intent of having multiple devices connected to the same icloud account - they are all kept in sync.  If you don't want certain features kept in sync, then turn off the services on one device (Settings>icloud), but there is no option of that for messages.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
