Messed-up Forum Account

Where does one go to get a forum account straightened out? Through no action of my own, my forum account (JETalmage) suddenly started acting like it was a new account, and all my many existing posts became marked as JETalmage-mzVC8V. That account contains my avitar, history, etc. I didn't do this; the system did. Who can fix it?

Hi,
I became Niall O'Donovan-QH4gYn for a short time. I was following the instructions and trying to work out how to log out completely (yes, I am one of the lucky ones that doesn't get automatically logged out).
Anyway while in the preferences section, the Jive software suddenly remembered me and restored my profile.
I appreciate that it is best to follow the instructions and log off/on/off/on, but in my case I hadn't got that far.
This is the second time it has happened, but it just seems to need a swift kick and all is ok again.

How can I change the email associated with my forum account? I didn't provide my work email to you, but you put it in my account. My forum postings have nothing to do with my personal PC at home. There isn't an option to update it.

Hi:
Log in and click on your user name, then look at the upper the right side of the page.
Click on the triangle to the left of the "More Resources" section.
This will drop down, and give you options.
Select User Settings.
This will now open a page, and in the light blue type on top, follow it along to Contact Information, click on that, and change your e-mail address to what you want, and hit the blue submit button on the bottom right side of the page.

You can't delete the forum account on your own. An administrator can disable it, but you have to ask them.

Hello All,
In order to update your email address you'll need to private message me the following information.
Your Screen Name
The new email address that you would like to use.
I'll then have to put in a request to have your email address changed for each individual account.

Log in to your forum account, then click the arrow next to your screen name on the top right of the screen. The drop down will have options, one of them is Edit Profile and Privacy. On that screen you can change the email associated with your forum account.

Lenovo Forum Account Not Recognized, But Cannot Use Same Account Information

I previously created a Lenovo forum account, however it was not recogonized when I attempted to sign in to the forums with it. So, I started to recreate it using the same e-mail address. I was able to use the same e-mail address, received the verification e-mail, clicked the verification link, and was prompted to enter a user name and e-mail address. I attempted to use my previous user ID that I was just told did not exists (hence needing to recreate an account) and was told that the ID already existed. Okay, fine I made up a new one. I was also promted to enter an e-mail address. Um, okay. So I tried entering my e-mail address and was told that the e-mail addres was already in use. Huh? How could my old accound both not exist and exist? But I cannot request any help until I have an account. So I created a completely different account using a different e-mail address and user ID. Why did not my original account not work, and am I going to have to go through this again the next time I need to access the forums?

Your first account has not been associated with a LenovoID, the other two have. The LenovoID is actually the email address you used to create that LenovoID and not your forum user name.
When you click on Sign In at the top of the forum you will be presented with the LenovoID screen, see the picture in point 3 in this knowledgebase article. In the immediately visible fields please enter the email and password used when creating your second or third LenovoID accounts which may be different to those used on the forum registration page picture under point 4; this will then automatically log you into the forums with the user name which was associated with that LenovoID.
If you wish for your original member name, DGDCTP, to be associated with the LenovoID created for account 2 or 3 please let us know and we can arrange this for you.

Why is there no way to delete my community forum account?

Hello, I have realized that I already have a My Verizon log in and would rather use that instead of the community profile I just made. I cannot find ANYWHERE how to delete my account, and I have seen threads from others saying they cannot find it either; and someone else ( I assume a moderator or someone with administrative privileges ) had to come along and do it for them.
Why is this so? Anyway, I'd like to delete my account so mods please send me the link. Thanks.

Clearly, myself and others cannot without the help of an administrator.
Or maybe it is true that the Verizon Support forums does not allow account deletion. It could just be a shady way to attempt to keep member info and email addresses. But believe me lol, the reason they may not allow account deletion is not because it would cause continuity problems in the threads, or because it would be technically impossible and cause problems with thread history.
Someone with any technical knowledge will tell you the same. Now the site, in theory, could be purposely designed with that limitation in an attempt to have a reason to deny account termination, but I'd hope that is not the case here.

Messed up iTunes account

Hello guys,
I have à bit of à problem.
My iTunes account is comepletely Messed up.
The thing is:
If i want to upload some apps it's bit posibble for me to log in into my own account. If i go to the menu to change the settings it is logged on in my own account.
If i want to purchase something in the iTunes store it doesn't ask for my account or password. But if i want to buy something from an app let's say coins or what so ever it says I have to contact the iTunes support centre.
Excuse me for my bad english but i'm from the netherlands so my grammar isn't proper i suppose.
Anyhow, can somebody help me?? Today some one told me this could be à virus. Is this true?

Can't set up forum account

I tried helping set up an account for some friends and on my son's computer so that they can join the Mac forums but no matter how many ways and times we've tried filling out the online registration form it doesn't work.
I'm also getting emails from other people, who read my other posting on this problem which I posted in a different place on the forum, and they are having the same problem.
It makes me wonder how many other people out there are in the same Catch 22 situation.
I hope someone out there can help. I know that a lot of people who can't post their own questions will be checking for responses to this posting.

Could you post exactly the problem you encounter?
And before you attempt to create a new Apple Account, delete the Apple Cookies, and clear the Cache of the browser you are using.

Hi, I was accessing Java forum using my old account with SUN microsystems, this account had user name: "[email protected]", in the same time I was having an account with OTN with the same user name: "[email protected]", after merging between SUN and ORACLE I am not able to access my old account on SUN Java Forum, the question is CAN I MERGE BOTH TWO ACCOUNTS?

And let's be honest. The reason for using the forums is not to "gain points", as that makes it sound like it's all about boosting one's own ego... no, the reason for using the forums it to help others and learn things for yourself. The points, in themselves, are pointless... there are people who post many wrong or poor quality answers and get points (which the OP can't then take away) and there are experts who post excellent and comprehensive answers who get nothing. "What do points make?" ... "Nothing".
