Messed up line spacing in Internet Explorer

I have pages in an outline format, with the text imported from MS Word. When viewing on IE 6, there is the occasional line that appears double-spaced. In IE 7 the spacing for those lines is a bit more than normal, but okay. Has anyone else encountered this?
I don't know what's special about the lines that have the extra spaces. maybe I edited them in iWeb, I'm not sure. So I don't know how to prevent them or how to remove them.
Example: www.thekesters.net/Genealogy/Rosenstern.html (there are several extra spaces in the first ten lines of the list of people).
Any ideas?

The latest version of the SimplePass program should allow you to remove the toolbar by going to the "toolbars" section under "view" in Internet Explorer. What is the exact model number of the notebook and which operating system are you running? I will be glad to find the latest version of the application for you.

Firefox 4 messed up computer, Incredimail and Internet Explorer

I installed Firefox 4, noticed Roboform won't work anymore so I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 3.6.13.

When Firefox crashes, it usually records information about what was happening at that moment. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the support article "[[Firefox Crashes]]" (especially the last section) for steps to get those crash IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.
If that's not possible, have you tried Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
If Firefox is closed, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key when double-clicking the Firefox shortcut.
In the small dialog that should appear, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
If Firefox works better (is more stable) in Safe Mode, we could suggest various next steps based on that information. If it's just as bad, that would be good to know as well.

Internet Explorer stopped working when I upgraded to Parallels 6

I am fairly capable with computers and software, so your direction to a helpful resource would be appreciated if you don't know specifically how to address my problem.
I am new to Apple as of this past April and I am still adjusting from the PC world. However, many of my programs still need Windows and one on-line subscription requires Internet Explorer. I installed Parallels and Windows 7 on my MacBookPro.
Internet Explorer 8 stopped working when I upgraded Parallels from Version 5 to Version 6. It gave me an error message and did not open. IE8 had worked just fine on Parallels 5. My inquiries to Parallels went unanswered. Nor could find a solution on the Parallels website or the internet, in general. I downloaded and tried to install IE9 Beta from the Microsoft website when I saw it offered when I tried to find a solution to my IE8 problem on-line (Safari still works). Now I receive an error message "Internet Explorer did not finish installing". But, I am unable to finish its installation or remove it so I can start over.
Any ideas??

Internet Explorer 10 and div

I asked a question recently about <div> lines added in Internet Explorer 10 and not other browsers. I received a number of helpful responses. I cannot now find my question on the list (I'm new to the forum and not sure where it went). In any event, the problem has been solved and I wanted to share the answer. Turns out that I had the "Compatibility View" button on when I was using IE10 and viewing the html pages. When I turn "Compatibility View" off, the pages now appear as they should and the same as they do in all of the other browsers. I appreciate the helpful responses I received.

How come layout of Websites is not same as in Internet Explorer

The menu on my Website spreads across two lines instead of one in Firefox. It should only be on one line as in Internet Explorer. How come this is happening? Someone else says it displays fine on one line in Firefox: I don't see it.

One possible reason is different zoom settings. Firefox has two modes of zoom: text only, or proportional (full zoom). Text only zoom is more likely to overflow the containers on a page and either wrap or distort the layout.
To check what kind of zoom you're using, you can use the classic View menu. If you are displaying the orange Firefox button instead of the classic menu bar, tap the Alt key to show the menu bar temporarily.
View menu > Zoom > Zoom Text Only
If checked, you are using text-only zoom. You can toggle this back and forth to see the difference.
If you do not see a difference, the issue could be that your menu bar specifies a font that is smaller than your minimum font size. By default, Firefox does not set a minimum font size, but if you ever set one, then that could be the issue. You can check that in the Options dialog:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
In the Fonts & Colors section, click the "Advanced" button. Depending on your site encoding, check both Western and Other Language (utf-8) for a minimum font size.

Internet Explorer keeps braking in when I don't want them. Very irritating. What can I do to stop this brake in?

I am not any web site, but on line, and suddenly Internet Explorer pops up with a different advertisement every time. Then they say page can not be connected. This happens quite frequently when I am not doing anything on the computer. It gets very irritating when I am working on a document to just print out and not email. Here is something that you can try:
# Click on Tools and then click Options.
# Select the Advanced panel
# Select the General tab
# Uncheck Use hardware acceleration where available.
# Click File and then click Exit.
# Start Firefox normally.
Once you have followed those steps, you'll want to follow these as well and see if the lines are gone.
Click the Help menu and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
Let me know if this has eliminated the problem.

Blank line in file, but if you download it with Internet Explorer. (??)

I have a new qestion for you.
My problem is this:
I have a report that creates a file in Unix.
When I read that file from an Abap program, the file it's ok. When I download it from a web based system the file has a blank line at the end of the file.
I tried the CR+FL solution, tried specifying the length of the record in the transfer.
Nothing works.
The most strange thing is that if I download the file accesing from Firefox browser, the file it's ok, but with Internet Explorer the bloddy blank line appears...
Do you have any idea on how to solve this????

A Z program creates the file (text) in Unix.
Then, the users download the file using a web application. Just access to the server and download the file to your computer.
I did a little z program to check if the file was being created correctly (without the blank line), and yes, the file it's ok.
But I realized that the problem, maybe, is related to the web browser used to access that page.
So, my question is: Did someone had a similar problem?

Thick line in questionbox when opening the form in internet explore

When I open my form in firefox, everything appears correctly but when I open it in internet explore there are some thick lines in 2 questionboxes. How can i change this? I don´t see these lines when I create my form.

I opened your form in IE and I don't see the thick lines that you are talking about. Can you try to add a screenshot again (from the forum website this time). Also what version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Website looks messed up in internet explorer....

I created a website for my volunteer fire company with Dreamweaver 8 on my Mac. The site looked fine when I reviewed it with Firefox and Safari so I uploaded it. Then I started to get phone calls that it was fouled up looking. When others looked at it using Internet Explorer on there PC's the background images in the tables became offset and in some cases started to repeat. Is there an issue between Mac and internet Explorer or between Dreamweaver 8 and Internet Explorer. The site is www.goodwillhose.com if you want to take a look. If your site visitors use pre-IE7 browsers, your transparent PNG images have a light blue cast to them. Do a Google search for IE PNG Fix.

Firefox 3.6.3 crashes running the validation script just as listed above. It also crashed on an older version of Firefox.

When I try to but on line, the last action is to verify payment using my password for my banks verification screen, but the payment process won't then complete. it's fine with internet explorer, what setting do i need to change on Firefox? thnaks

Trying to buy goods/services on line using Firefox and all is fine until I get to the final screen, which is my banks verification screen (an added security). The payment then fails. I've used thsi happily before on Firefox, and it currently works fine on Internet Explorer - but no longer on Firefox. Have I inadvertently changed some security settings? I'm not aware that I have?
I'm keen to use only Firefox for financial transactions, so the lack of this facility is worrying me
