Meta Data / Data Code / Time Stamp

Not sure how to explain myself here but here goes.
I am using Premiere Elements 7 to capture about 50 DV tapes I have using a Sony TVR27E.  I have each tape being saved to it's own folder (Called "Tape 0001 - 01_01_2006 - 31_01_2006 etc and captured using the device control time code so that each 90 minute tape gets split into 10's to 100's of individual clips called "Tape 0001m Clip 01 etc.  This is all going really well so far and I'm at about tape #40 (so pretty much finished)  what I have just noticed however is that when I come to editing clips or trying to find clips in the organiser I have no information about when each clip was shot.  During capture from the DV camera i can display on the DV camera monitor the "Time Stamp" however this does not display on the capture monitor window on the PC during capture.  My question is how can I display or find out when each clip has been originally shot.  i don;t require to see it in the finsihed DVD however it would be very handy to have that kind of 'meta data" as some of my tapes have mixed dates on them.  Any clues?
regards,  Stewie.

The Organizer should read and display that kind of metadata, Stewie. You can even activate Display Details and you'll see it listed under the clips. (At least that's how it should work.) That's assuming, of course, that this is a miniDV camcorder and that you're capturing over a FireWire connection. (I couldn't find any specs on this camera.)
You can also look up a free program called DV Date. You may find it helpful.

  • Date format(UTC Time Stamp in Short Form (YYYYMMDDhhmmss)

    Hello Everybody,
                            I am facing a problem regarding creating an update program. The program will pick up data from a DB table through the RFC: RFC_READ_TABLE and then it will modify the custom DB table present in the system from where the program will be executed. Among the data of the fields to be transfered date field will be present but the format is of UTC Time Stamp in Short Form (YYYYMMDDhhmmss). Data is coming properly inside the internal table of the program, but on encountering a MODIFY or an INSERT statement its giving a short dump with a message: In a statement an invalid request was made to the database interface when accessing table "ZZTTT". What to do to transfer the data for the date field for the above said format. Eagerly waiting for your reply. Enclosed below the domain of the data element used in the table:
    Domain name: TZNTSTMPS(Data Type:DEC, No of Char: 15, Output Length: 19)

  • Writing arrays to text data with continious time stamp

    Hi Friends,
    I have the following problem.
    I want to create a text file looking like this:
    12,30,10, 10:30:00     12.05.2007
    12,31,10, 10:30:00,1  12.05.2007
    12,32,10, 10:30:00,2  12.05.2007
    12,33,10, 10:30:00,3  12.05.2007
    12,34,10, 10:30:00,4  12.05.2007
    12,35,10, 10:30:00,5  12.05.2007
    12,36,11, 10:30:00,6  12.05.2007
    12,37,12, 10:30:00,7  12.05.2007
    12,38,13, 10:30:00,8  12.05.2007
    12,38,16, 10:30:00,9  12.05.2007
    12,39,18, 10:30:01,0  12.05.2007
    12,39,18, 10:30:01,1  12.05.2007
    12,39,18, 10:30:01,2  12.05.2007
    the first 3 values are read from a file ,recorded as array and than plotted in chart.
    the beginning time (e.g 10:30:00  12.05.2007) is also read from a file and set as beginning of the chart with a property node. The problem is here , after I set the beginning time to the Chart I have nothing to do with it for the rest values, since samples/sec is also sent to chart.
    So how can I write the a txt file including the time stamp with ms incrementations?
    Thanks alot for your responces.
    john

    Hi John.
    I would use a Time Stamp and "Format Into String" with e.g. %<%.1X>T.
    Syntax details are in the LabVIEW Help - Search for "Format Specifier Examples".

  • Writing to a data file with time stamp - Help!

    My program currently asks the user to enter a path to save the data from my virtual channels. What I want is to have a default directory to store my data in and also have the file name that is created to be the date. I tried to use create open or replace but I cant get it to work. Any suggestions would be great. Also and comments to the code would help out a lot.

    Look at the attachment. It uses a front panel path control set to only select a new or existing folder (right click and Browse Options). Then, using a Build Path and a Format Date/Time String, a full path to a file is created. Pass this to your Open/Create/Replace File.

  • Data acquisition with time stamp

    Hi I'm using NI DAQ 6211 to acquire acceration, strain and temperature from a VI. I have made several modifications and my last two vis are attached. I need to get 1000 data points from a encoder and sampling the period is by far the best way to get acceleration considering my hardware.
    Is there a way to ensure that all three variables are synchronised within a timestamp without the vi slowing down?
    Sincerely
    Ahmad
    Attachments:
    test_6.vi ‏57 KB
    test_5.vi ‏50 KB

    The problem lies in synchronising the acceleration with the load and temperature. For acceleration I'm getting a period from a counter with Implicit values (i.e. without specifying timing). I have set the number of samples to acquire to 1000 points and this task does not require sample timing. Post processing the period data in matlab gives me the acceleration.
    Now my vi uses a Sample Clock with set number of samples being acquired for the load and temperature. This means that a set number of samples for load and temperature can be acquired and this time may not be enough to acquire the acceleration points; hence they cannot be mapped in time.
    The period is implicit and I can't find a way to synchronise with the load and temperature that are acquired at a fixed sample rate. The bottle neck in this problem is to get the acceleration (period recorded) in sync with the load and temperature. If this can be done without any compromise to the speed of the vi then this problem is resolved.
    I have attached the vis which will show the development to overcome this problem.
    Sincerely
    Ahmad

  • Which type of index is useful for date columns with time stamp

    Hi all,
    I am using date column in the where clause of an SQL Query. The values stored in the date column are includes timestamp. The query is very slow and there is no index on the date column.
    Can any body suggest which index is better on date columns
    Thanks

    I am using date column in the where clause of an SQL Query.Dates a re hard queries to tune. This ...
    WHERE start_date BETWEEN to_date('01-SEP-05') AND to_date('02-SEP-05')...probably requires a very different execution plan to this...
    WHERE start_date BETWEEN to_date('01-JAN-01') AND to_date('02-SEP-05')Just bunging an index on the date column may speed up your specific query but break something else. So be careful.

    As follows:
    Enter Data Source Name:
    Then user enters : 2lis_11_vahdr
    Then out put should be "Data source  :"  10-15-2008.

  • Can I create a time stamp of 2ms or 1ms resolution in a text file

    I have trouble creating time stamps in text files that have 2ms resolution. Although my timed loop in LV 7.1 is running the code at 500 Hz without any late iterations, and I record all the data points in the data file, the time stamps are the same in ms range for 5 consecutive points, i.e 10ms resolution. I would like the time stamps to have a 2ms resolution, where each data points every 2ms should show a different milisecond time stamp.
    I am trying to do this to be able to show exact 2ms-time stamps for each data sample from 1 digital input line sampled at 500 Hz using NI-DAQmx 7.2. So far I have been using "Get/Date Time in Seconds" and "Format Date/Time String" to display the time stamp in the milis
    econd range.

    Use the Tick Count (ms) function. Call Get Date/Time in Seconds when you start to get time of day. Also call the Tick Count (ms). After acquiring each point call Tick Count (ms) again and subtract from the starting tick count. Then add this to the starting Time in Seconds value (with appropriate scaling). The result is your timestamp.
    Another approach: If you are using hardware timing for the 500 Hz acquisition, each sample is automatically 2 ms after the previous one. Record the start time and add 2 ms for each sample.

    I can read it like
    tstamp = file+10(leng of timestamp).
    now this tsamp is in character format.
    i have to validate the current date with the time stamp i read into tstamp.
    so here is my problem
       how do i compare a character with the type timestamp.
    please some one help me.

    try this
    data : timst(8) type c value '10:10:10',
           timestamp type t.
    replace all occurrences of ':' in timst with space.

  • How to convert hex string to time stamp?

    Hello everyone..
    I am currently working on a project in which I have to read the data from a unit and display that data using LabVIEW. I am using serial communication for reading the data. The read data is in hex format.
    Now, I want to convert this hex string to a time stamp value. I am reading total 16 bytes. How to convert this hex data to a time stamp value. I have developed a VI. But I want to know that the displayed time stamp is correct or not? Or suggest me some other solution.
    I am using LabVIEW 2011.

  • Date and Time Stamp - Data Code

    I am trying to import HD video from a Sony video camera to iMovie, but require date and time stamp data code to display on the video.  The computer imports the video in HD without problem, but does not display the data code information.  Options allow for adjusting the date and time within the video clips, which proves the code is in there somewhere, but there are no options to display the date and time stamps.
    I have previously accomplished this by running the camera in real time through a Pinnacle movie box, but this is time consuming, and hinders video quality, rendering in standard definition.
    Can anyone please assist?
    Thanks

    Date stamp data is not something read by FCP ... try iMovie,
    Alternatively, check the camera's output options, it may be possible to output the data burnt-in on the s-video or some such ... if you have the requisite i/o hardware you could then digitize from that signal path

  • Date/Time stamp JS Code no longer working in Adobe 9

    Hey all,
    I work in the healthcare industry and we timestamp all our documents with the pretty popular javascript code of
    var f = this.getField("today");
    f.value = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy
    ", new Date());
    But recently our dept. switched to Adobe 9, and now this same code only pulls the date, and the time reads 0:00am.  I know how to fix it, but I'm wondering what is the cause, and if there is anything we can do about the other 40,000 documentes we already have that is stamped with this older and seemingly defunct code, as inspectors and regulators will probably ask why we have 0:00am on our pages that are viewed in Adobe 9.  Any information would be greatly appreciated!
    -Thomas

    var f = this.getField("today");
    f.value = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy
    h:MM tt", new Date());
    Will now display the time also, given the same text field properties are set which were present on the original time-stamp document.  Which is great going forward, the only problem is that we have 40,000 docs on our intranet that when opened with Adobe Acrobat version 9, stamped with the old code with those same text field properties, will now display 0:00am as the current time.  I don't know the cause of this except that some kind of functionality of one of the methods had to have been changed somehow in Adobe 9.  I know that Adobe 9 now uses Javascript 1.7, Adobe 8 used 1.6.  The only way I can think of so far to fix this is to manually go into each document and place this new code in there, or go back and change the text field properties format, both options of which require us to handle each individual document.  That's why I asked if there was some kind of universal setting that I could set that would interpret the javascript code a certain way, but i don't know if that exists.
