Meta data for streaming mp3s?

Hello
I'm using Flash Media Streaming Server and I read that I can
not obtain meta data on mp3s using FMS.
Is this true?
I want to be able to seek/scrub audio tracks, but I would
probably need the duration of the mp3.
If anyone can shed some light on this that would be great!
Thanks
Ryan

many nodes of the faces-config have xxxx-extension . Some of them will be added in the JSF 1.2. This is a place where the meta-data is stored. The JSR-276 ( http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=276 ) is dedicated to Design-time Meta-data standartization. The initial proposal is here: http://www.jsfcentral.com/reading/index.html#Proposals
The JSR is just created. So, it is about the future. Currently, each tool has its own meta-data format and uses it is own way how the custom components are presented and work inside the tool.

I managed to transfer the music from 1 pc to 1 other pc (it is played perfectly on the other PC (Windows 7- pc) by the newly downloaded and installed iTunes, version 10.6.1.7). But I didn’t fix the transfer of the meta data (for example the rating). Does anyone know how to use (or import) your old playlists, etc..(= meta data) on the other PC? So, short: how to migrate the meta data from one pc to an other pc?

    Hi,
I want to load the Meta Data for IDoc Type WPUKSR01 in XI Integration Repository out of BI. Unfortunately, this IDoc is not available in the IDoc List. I checked in BI and the IDoc Type is available in WE60 and WE30. Also, I can load the Meta Data for the Idoc in XI ABAP (IDX2).
Can someone tell me why the IDoc doesn't show up in XI Integration Repository Import Object List?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Aamir,
The Idoc is released since Release 30A. I also tried to load the IDoc Meta Data from ERP with the same result: it does not show up in the list.
    Thanks anyway.

There is no saprouter between ERP and MII as in the thread from Christoph Mertins in November 2008. The user rfc-i33 on the ERP has SAP_ALL permissions.
    Has anyone an idea ?

    Thomas,
There is a link for a basic IDoc installation that may help.
    [IDocListener|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/bpx-community/manufacturing/how%20to%20send%20an%20idoc%20from%20sap%20ecc%20to%20the%20sap%20mii%20idoc%20listener.pdf]
One other issue that has occurred to cause problems is registering the program in Visual Administrator.  If you registered the ProgID in Visual Administrator, there will now be two ProgIDs registered (MII does self registration with the RFC Destination upon starting the server).  Delete the registration in VA, if you did it.
If there are other error messages available, please post them.
    Good luck,
    Mike
I also just remembered, if you have two ProgIDs that are the same, running on two separate MII instances, you may run into a problem.  Not sure it will have the same symptoms or error messages, but something else to check with (especially when migrating from dev to prod).

  • Is it possible to copy the iTunes meta data to the mp3 files themselves?

I have recently began using MS Windows 8. As a long time user of iTunes, I have a very large and well organised library.
The music app built into MS Windows 8 is something which I would like to start using. Yet, it builds the music database from the mp3 files themselves; which after using iTunes for so long contain little (zero) information to describe each file.
Is it possible, to transfer the meta data stored in my iTunes library and save it to the mp3 files themselves - so that when I open the files in another media player, it contains the same descriptive information?
    In advance, thanks.

Normally any meta data you edit in iTunes is copied to the tags, although iTunes doesn't always update things properly if the files in question have two or more embedded tags. You can however move the entire library without losing any information as follows.
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • Get Meta Data for Structures used in RFCs

On Monday I asked in another thread, how to retrieve table meta data using RFCs (Get Table Meta Data with RFC)
Having a closer look on what information I got I realized, that this wasn't the exact information I was looking for, although the answers from Ferry have been very good.
What I am actually looking for isn't meta information of tables, but information about the "Associated Type" that is associated with every import, export, or table parameter of a function module.
If I double-click on one of those types in transaction se37 after choosing a function module, I get a wonderful overview about the structure including 'component', 'component type', 'data type', 'length', etc.
Is there an RFC I can call that gives me exactly this meta information by giving an associated type?
    Best,
    Stefan

    Thanks Glen
I had a look on the proposed function module.
The good thing, it gives me information about the parameter naming for example table name and field name.
But it won't give me more detailed information about the table and the field.
    Nevertheless
RFC1::RFC_GET_NAMETAB seems to give me what I need. So your call for RFC1 and RFC2 was a good one.
    Thanks again.

  • VIDEO_TS meta data for Front Row?

Front Row in Leopard supports playing VIDEO_TS folders. You can also add cover art by saving a file as preview.jpg in the parent directory. The folder structure would be like the following.
/Users/fred/Movies/The Day the Earth Stood Still/VIDEO_TS/
/Users/fred/Movies/The Day the Earth Stood Still/preview.jpg
    /Users/fred/Movies/Cloverfield/VIDEO_TS/
    /Users/fred/Movies/Cloverfield/preview.jpg
    /Users/fred/Movies/Attack of the Killer Tomatoes/VIDEO_TS/
    /Users/fred/Movies/Attack of the Killer Tomatoes/preview.jpg
This works great, however I was wondering if there is any equivalent method for adding meta-data to VIDEO_TS folders. Obviously you cannot do the normal process of storing it as MPEG4 tags in an MPEG4 video file via iTunes. If it was possible I would presume the most logical method would be to store an XML file in each folder something like this.
/Users/fred/Movies/The Day the Earth Stood Still/VIDEO_TS/
/Users/fred/Movies/The Day the Earth Stood Still/preview.jpg
/Users/fred/Movies/The Day the Earth Stood Still/metadata.xml
    /Users/fred/Movies/Cloverfield/VIDEO_TS/
    /Users/fred/Movies/Cloverfield/preview.jpg
    /Users/fred/Movies/Cloverfield/metadata.xml
    /Users/fred/Movies/Attack of the Killer Tomatoes/VIDEO_TS/
    /Users/fred/Movies/Attack of the Killer Tomatoes/preview.jpg
    /Users/fred/Movies/Attack of the Killer Tomatoes/metadata.xml
I suspect that unfortunately this is not currently possible but does anyone know for certain?

Unfortunately it looks like currently there is no way to do it and Apple have been sorely neglecting Front Row (it has fallen well behind even the Apple TV which is far from state of the art). As Snow Leopard is concentrating on performance enhancements rather than new features, I do not hold out hope for any significant change for well over a year.
Note: Apple TV is not necessarily a bad product, indeed I bought one for my parents, it is merely like Front Row extremely limited, too limited for many people which is why it sales are (allegedly) so poor. I think the comment raised by more than one pundit that it fails to replace a box under your TV is an extremely important one. It does not replace your DVD player (there are still comparatively few movies on the iTunes store - assuming you are in a country which has any at all), the movies are too expensive compared to DVDs and do not offer either as good quality or as many features. It also fails to replace a video recorder or these days a DVR since it has no TV capabilities. As such it has to be treated as an additional box if at all, and as an additional box it increases the spaghetti factor and thus fails the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) even if it is by far the easiest to use product.
I have therefore switched to using Plex which is a Mac version of XBMC. Plex allows you to use VIDEO_TS folders just like Front Row (indeed the same folders can be used in both), but it does have a built-in 'library' which stores meta-data and artwork for these VIDEO_TS folders and any other videos you might have. It uses plugins called 'scrapers' to search sites like http://www.imdb.com for metadata about the movies, I have even written a 'scraper' to search Amazon for those few DVDs not listed on IMDB.
    See http://www.plexapp.com
Since Plex does an excellent job handling VIDEO_TS (i.e. DVDs) it can 'replace' a box - the DVD player and also means the kiddies do not destroy your fragile discs.
PS. Horror of horrors, even Microsoft Media Center is 'better' than Front Row. This is practically the only category Microsoft has actually genuinely earned first place in rather than cheating/bribing/stealing/buying its way to.

  • Advanced META Data for files?

I must first disclose that I am anal when it comes to how my iTunes library is sorted and displayed. At least, I thought I was, until I got the Apple TV2. Every song has almost every field entered to provide full information on the album, artist and song... I feel it's necessary when searching using an iOS device to have all this.
Now, as of recently I have began importing my TV DVDs into iTunes so I can rid myself of having to use a DVD player. I Rip the DVDs using Handbrake. Unfortunately the DVDs have basic information and don't supply the full metadata for each individual episode. A lengthy trip to IMDB solves this, but what i am finding lately is that although the preexisting meta editor in iTunes only has limited basic capabilities.
I am finding that with TV and movie files the meta editor isn't video specific, it's still looking for album artist, composer, etc. that is more related to music files even thought the media style is set to TV Show or Movie. A big gripe was that when viewing the Movie on the Apple TV2 it would show the Actor, Director, Writer, and Movie Rating information for movies I had purchased off of the iTunes store but did not give me the option to do so with my imported DVDs.
I have branched out and tried out a few programs that are more devoted to advanced metadata editing such as VideoDrive (ripper and meta editor) and MetaX but have encountered problems with each that i don't like.
I'm curious to see if anyone else out there is as anal with their tagging for their iTunes libraries and have come across a program or programs that can automate the task of editing and can do it accurately.

It seems that others have had the same question as me as there have been many view of this but only ChrisCA's helpful response. 1 year later I am back to share my solution to my own problem so that others in the future don't have to do the year of research.
I still continued to use most of the programs listed in my earlier post for the greater part of the year. It has only been recently that I managed to find a fully suitable program.
Videodrive (FREE - http://www.aroona.net/VideoDrive/Home.html) helped me out for a bit as it integrated very nicely in to iTunes, but if you were doing a batch IDv3 edit, it would only show you the first option and then automatically write the others even with the information being wrong. It was quite good and fast if it found the right info but unfortunately it wasn't very friendly for making adjustments.
I stopped using MetaX (FREE - http://www.kerstetter.net/index.php/projects/software/metax) and MetaZ (FREE - http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/36029/metaz) shortly after posting this question. The GUI was very primitive and sometimes the search function turned back results that was nowhere close... if it turned back search results at all. It just didn't work the way I hoped and therefore it got the axe.
Which leads me to my final program, one that I have been using for a few months and the one that I recommend to anyone.
iDentify ($9.99 - http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/identify/id418080764?mt=12) I soon found out that in order to get programs that you want to work, you usually have to pay for them. I found iDentify on the Mac App store and bit the bullet hoping that it would work as promised. I was pleasantly surprised that it actually worked better.
iDentify actually returns similar data as MetaZ and videodrive but with the added benefit of advanced search fields. You can either input the video's title or have it search by the IMDB (http://www.IMDB.com) code. If it doesn't find the right information by itself then you manually load up IMDB.com and copy the IMDB file tag in the address bar (example: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365748/ is "Shaun of the Dead") then paste it in to iDentify's field. Pressing 'rescan items' then uses your manually inputted tag (tt0365748) and returns proper information for your video file. iDentify then supplies you with editable fields and multiple artwork from many different sources.
iDentify works quite well with batch processing if you have multiple files that need to be tagged properly. This program isn't fully 100% automated but it's quite close, it does supply you with the info that it finds prior to writing it to the file, which is actually a bit of a good thing, after using Videodrive i found out that sometimes you just need to review the results and give it the ok. Usually if you put in the IMDB tag then it finds it perfectly. I don't think that I have come across any that displayed wrong after manually directing it to the right IMDB web page.
So for those of you who have TV shows or movies in your iTunes library for media streaming then I would highly suggest getting iDentify. This program has been the result of a year long battle with META and IDv3 tagging.
I find that the built in iTunes IDv3 editor is sufficient enough for editing information for audio files so I haven't tested out iDentify with any ripped audio files. If there's request for that, I'll look in to it.

  • Discrepency while REPLICATING META DATA (for new DATA SOURCE) in BI side.

In R/3 I have created a simple TRANSACTIONAL data store based on an INFO QUERY.
I even checked the veracity of this data store using RSA3 to see whether it extracts data. Works perfectly.
I go to BW side. Click on the SAP module under which I have created the data source, right click, select 'REPLICATE' and click on it.
( I would love to post the screen shot here, but I think I may not be able to paste BMP files here).
I will write the contents of the POP-UP that appears,
Title:Data Source from Source System Unknown
    Pop-up contents:
    Data Source (OSOA) DS_01
does not exist in BI system
How do you want to create the object in BI?
    1. as DataSource (RSDS)
    2. as 3.x DataSource (ISFS)
    3. this and following 3 as DataSource (RSDS)
    4. this and following 3 as 3.x DataSource (ISFS).
Well, I normally select option three as per my instructions (without knowing the real reason).
But sometimes, either for the same data source or for another data sources that I created, the same pop up will appear like this
Title:Data Source from Source System Unknown
    Pop-up contents:
    Data Source (OSOA) DS_01
does not exist in BI system
How do you want to create the object in BI?
    1. as DataSource (RSDS)
    2. as 3.x DataSource (ISFS)
    Just TWO options.
And, if I select option 1, the data source does not work properly on BI side, though it worked perfectly on R/3 under TRANSACTION RSA3 and showed me data.
For some unknown reasons, if I delete the erroneous datasource on BI side and sleep overnight and comeback in the morning and replicate, the POP-UP sometimes appears with FOUR options, (Notice the word 'SOMETIMES')
Can someone explain the secret behind this?
    Thanks again in advance,
    Gold

    3. this and following 3 as DataSource (RSDS)
That means there are total 3 new (not yet in BI) DataSources available, u wanted to replicate as 7.0 datasource (RSRS) or 3.x datasource (ISFS).
(other 2 datasources activated from RSA5, or created by other users under that SAP module)
If there is 1 new DataSource, u will  get just TWO options.
    1. as DataSource (RSDS)
    2. as 3.x DataSource (ISFS)
After replication with option 1, u should activate datasource in BI, then create infopackages, transformation, DTP etc.

  • Exporting audio meta data for Speech Analysis.

Working on a video project that has about 4hrs of recorded audio. Using Premiere Pro CS6/Media Encoder's Speech Analysis I processed all of these audio tracks which added the "Analysis Text" to their metadata.
I need to provide all of this text to my copywriter so he can construct a copy deck, which will be used for other media.
Does anyone have an efficient way to (batch) export all of the metadata for each clip, even more specifically, just this particular property (as he won't be interested in the other standard metadata)? I would want to dump it into a large .doc along with the relevant file name.
I'll then provide him with mp3s of the audio so he can listen and proof the copy – as I imagine there will need to be quite a few corrections made.
If there isn't a magic-bullet solution, I would of course need to find the next best option, e.g. export as mp3s, and see if I can embed all that metadata in them. Then provide him with some way to view that content while he plays the files back. Keeping in mind I'm not working with tech-savy individuals on that side of the procesess. I would have loved to have them just open Prelude and be done with it.
    I appreaciate the thoughts.
    Stephen

As I mentioned in my post, I was looking for a way to "batch export" all of the clips, as I have 50+ for this particular shoot alone.
Surely I can't be the first person who wanted to externalize all that content.
    Thanks.
