Metachain in Process chain is failed

Hi friends,
yesterday process chain was failed because of some errors.
after correcting i did manual load to all as in the meta chain .
Today process chain was failed because of the same meta chain not even running. there is no process monitor option and displaying messages are said previous job is running still.
So please advice i need to start that meta chain and it should run normally from tomoro...
Please help me in this regard...

u can proceed with the immediate schedule of that local chain for today and then do as what I have suggested.. this will resolve ur issue..
Meta chain was running fine in ur case with the Direct Schedulign option.. bcz it might have been with the immediate schedule in the scheduling screen.. .. If that is the case then the Process chain will allow this settings for the Local chains to run as per the sequence..
After todays manual run.. u can deschedule the entire chain once and then reschedule with the proper time details and the periodicity..

if master data is loading at same time while the attr/hier change run is occuring,it cause the change run to fail.
Usually u get error message like..user ALEREMOTE has locked the MD tables..
Wait for some time and then try attr change run manually by going to rsa1->tools->apply hier/attr change..
if it still shows locked..try to see in rsmo if a MD load has got stuck..
else..see in sm12 to find lock is on which tables..
last resort..delete lock forcefully from sm12..
first option is wait for some time and give a try again..

Local process chain is failing and i want to run its successor chain

I have a query regarding process chain, which is :
I have a metachain, in which some local chains are existing.
If suppose local process chain 2 is failing and i don't want to run that i want to run local process 3 directly
(which is successor of chain 2 ).
What should i do?

You can trigger the process chain as below:
Go to TC SE37 -
> use function module RSPC_CHAIN_START -
> execute -
> put your process chain's technical name in variant I_CHAIN -
> Execute -
> specify job priority

Metachain and process chain?

Dear Veterans,
Scenario: Process Chain1--Successful>PC2Successful>PC3Always->PC4
As we can see the in the scenario PC4 is always executing whether PC3 is failed or successful.
Now Prcess Chain3 have a DSO in process, Which get fails at the activation step. And PC4 got triggerred as it is always.
On analysis we come to know that it is failed becuse of short-dump or workprocess were not free.
My Enquiry:
1. Please explain how we will do the activation again without triggering the PC4 as it is always, without handling the activation outside the procees chain environment.?
2. Is there any way to do the activation step again without deleting the old red request in the DSO as there is no error in data but it got failed beacuse of above issues?

Hi,
As the DSO activation step failed, we can manually activate the request by going into the taget.
This can be done by selecting the request which is not activated and clicking the 'activate' button.
Then we get a pop up showing all the requests which are not activated. Select the requests which need to be activated and check the option "do not condense requests into one request when activation takes place"(select this option when there are multiple requests to activate) and then click the start button.
Since we have done the activation maually in PC3, this will not trigger PC4 again.

"Save Hierarchies" step in Process chain getting failed

Hello all,
After searching thoroughly through various links / forums, i failed to get a solution. So, I am posting here.
Recently we had a system copy. After that, in Quality system - "Save all Hierarchies" step in PC is getting failed.
I ran the process chain for 3 times till now:
1) Sometimes, it fails at batch monitor itself with UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION runtime error.
2) Sometimes, it fails saying "Error 0 when reading PSA 1" & "No hierarchy found for the selection criteria entered".
When it fails with "Error 0 when reading PSA 1", then the above Hierarchy info package which is green automatically turns RED again with Process monitor saying "No PSA tables for the selection criteria".
I also went through the below sdn links.

Things I did:
1) Tried replicating & activating the Transfer rules and Data source.
2) Repeated the step, as suggested in one post.
3) Refreshed the OLTP hierarchies in Infopack. selections.
I have attached a screenshot of a sample Data source which says Modified, though the transfer rules are active. Also, the process chain sample.
Please let me know, if someone has faced this issue. Whatelse did I miss? Any clue.

Hi Raman,
I couldn't retransport, but i removed it from schedule and re-activated it. But, i think the issue lies with one of the Info objects 0PROFIT_CTR.
Because, when i tried to check the hierarchy structure; there are duplicate entries for one code. Can we delete one of them? Is it preferable.
I tried using OSS and used a program RSR_REPAIR_INFOAREAHIER but this showed no errors.
Any clue?

My local process chain is getting failed due to the following error.

This means, the previous step is completed and system should get the status as G(green), but in above system got this as X(Deleted). That's why system unable to start the next process(your local chain).
I don't think, this is an issue with background processes.
try to repeat the step once again and monitor the display messages, if you get same error again check process type before this local chain.

Process chain Gettin failed

when i run a Process chain for Transcation data the chain getting failed giving the following error message

I run this chain for every one hour.

So your PC is getting failed Immediately with shortdump?
Goto ST22>you can find the short dump (Message_type_x ), if you go through the short dump you can find the CUBE name some where here, so that is cube which making issue, go to that particular cube>check whether any request are running(there may be some loads which shows it is running, but if you check in detail it may be failed, but QM status doesn't changing for some reason, this may lead the chain to Short dump
If you use any BIA in your cube, then check them too..
Goto RSDDV> Select the CUBE>clik on BIA index( Maintenance wizard)-->if it is running, delete and then rebuild the index.
Now goto your PC and Execute it, it shouldn't fail with Message_type_x

My process chain is failing while executing DTP.
Error i got is: OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED
Access not possible using 'NULL' object reference.
The dump is occuring in method : GET_FIELD_LIST_INBOUND

How to reset an failed asynchron abap-process in a process-chain?

Hi specialists,
I've got a process-chain which triggers (as one of its steps) an abap-program.
The program should run asychroniously, so the process-chain waits until the programm reports its ending.
When the abap-program fails/crashes/dumps, then the endings is never reported and the process-chain gets stuck.
If I try to re-run that process-chain, it fails again with the message "Variant XYZ still executing from previous run".
What I already found so far is the following note:
The process chain management will not know if your program terminates!
Thus if you re-start the chain, this will also terminate, because the old run would not have finished yet. To avoid this, you need to manually set the process in the chain log view in the process monitor to terminate before you start again.
My problem: I cannot find any possibility to set the process to "terminate" in the chain's log view.
Could you please gimme a hint where I can find that option?

Hi,
You can remove the process chain from scheduling before staring the process chain again.
Also can edit the entries in RSPROCESSLOG table before running the process chain.
Alternatively you can create a custom ABAP process type which handles the success as well as fail cases.

Process chain failing past 3 days

Hi,
Process chain is failing since 3 days which suppose run 6 PM everyday, If i run manually it is working fine, again it is failing at schedule time 6 PM.
In Canceled job log giving the following information. NO_MORE_SPACE: can not crate MTE: No more space: no more MESSAGE_CONTAINER slots available.Process chain variant XXXX not having scheduled variant for the event RSPROCSS.
Please advice me to over come this issue.

The DTP's of the particular process chain is failing frequently.
The reason is background jobs causing error
why this happens every time?
Did parallel data loading in the DTP may cause any backgound error?
Is it possible for only one update to the DTP at a time?

ABAP Program for set local process chain failed

I would like to execute ABAP Program in local process chain. If the condition is in the pre-defined bussiness rule, local process chain is set to fail.
Currently I use ABAP and Raise Message Error = Message Type E for cancel program. After program is cancelled, local process chain don't know its status, wait for job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP to determine status of process chain and then further execute subsequent process.
I 'm not sure that our solution is right or not about set process chain to fail via ABAP. Please suggest us if there are other solution to set process chain as failed.

Firstly if a process chain fails, identify the process that has failed and on the context menu of the failed process you will get an option called display message where you can find the exact reason for the failure. A process chain can fail in many cases. So first try to find the error occured . For example if a process chain has failed due to invalid records then we have to edit the psa and reload the data from psa to data target (reconstruction). Based on the error message you need to take the necessary actions...

Process Chain Failed for Master Data

Hi All,
Process Chain has failed for vendor attributes, when i checked the error no message has shown, and when i check the vendor attribute , there request in RED which is loaded on sunday(it got failed on sunday) again failed today.
I repeated the Process Chain again failed, and i deleted the request which in generated yesterday (sunday) and deleted request from PSA (delta) also (which is RED) trying to Load again It is saying that Last delta update was Incorrect There no new update is possible
It seems there is no load in (sunday) that is why it is giving that message.
Could you please let me know how this problem will be solved.

Hi,
You need to mark the failed request as "red". Then go to the infopackage and rerun. If it still fails, check the error message in the monitor. In the monitor, click on the failed load, go to the status tab and then click on the error message button. It will tell you the exact error.
Most probably, the error is datasource does not support mode R. (Repeat of last delta). In which case, you need to reinitialiize the datasource. Most master data datasources do not support repeat of last deltas. Hence if the delta's fail, then you need to do a reinitialization.
