Metadata changed by another app?

After upgrading my 20K image library from 1.4.1 to 2.0, all of my photos show the 'The metadata for this photo has been changed by both Lightroom and another application. How should Lightroom synchronize this data?" flag on each photo.
This is odd because I've never used any other application on any of my photos nor have they been touched by anything other than LR.
My choices are:
Import Settings from Disk - will attempt to read the .xmp files that I don't use and, effectively, wipe out any and all adjustments and keywords I've added.
-or-
Overwrite Settings - will create .xmp files for each photo which I don't want to do. I prefer to just carry all metadata within the LR database rather than clutter my HDD with xmp files.
Any suggestions to help solve this dilemma are much appreciated.

I had the same problem on a MAC a few weeks ago and posted it there with no result. I have also never used any external programs or had any sidecar files. I think it is a bug as it happened to all of my images before a certain date.
I managed to isolate it to a specific cause:
I use the import module to rename all my images on import with the date in the name and I always have done since LR 1.0beta. If you expand the metadata panel to show "all" you can see that there is a metadata field called "original filename" underneath the current file name. For images before some time in 07 - this field was not there and those are the ones that came up with the same metadata error flag symptoms that you have. Newer images which have an entry in that metadata field didn't come up with the error.
I suspect this means that older versions of LR import didn't update this field on a name change and somehow this has upset the metadata conflict check.
I couldn't find a way to resolve it without writing out 15k sidecar files which is clunky so I took the opportunity to rebuild my entire raw database as DNGs which has the side effect of curing the problem.

Music mutes when changing to another app

Hey everyone! Like many of us, I'm used to listen my music while working. But lately, when I'm working with after effects or premiere and for some reason I need to change to another application, no matter what it is, the music suddenly mutes, until I come back to AE or PR, specially with AE. The only way I've been able to fix it is by changing the output from headphones to USB - Display, in system preferences and then back to headphones. But then again if I change apps, it does the same thing. Please help.

The Music app should continue to play in other apps unless those apps need sound such as games. You should be able to surf the Internet and continue to play music in the background, but any other apps that rely on sounds will cause the music to quit playing.

Change to another app store

Hi, i just moved to germany and would like to change to the german app store. How can I do that. Just changing the address does'nt help. I bought an app store card in germany but it ist not accepted. Does anyone know, what I need to do?

Spaces go directly to finder when trying to change to another app

Hello, I use "cmd" + numeric keys in order to change to different spaces like "cmd+3" is iTunes, "cmd+1" is safari.. 2 for mail etc. Ive got number 6 assigned to Finder and sometimes, when I change from any space to another one like from 3 to 5... it automatically changes to space number 6, which is finder, does anyone know how to remove this option or is it simply an error from Lion? Thank you.

For the second question, the device blinks red if there is an unread message or notification; green is when there is an active network connection; and blue is when a bluetooth device is connected.

WIndows hide whenever I change to another app

Hey guys, I don't know if I changed with a setting or something, but something strange is happening. When I click on an open application in the dock to start working on it, the rest of the open windows that are open hide themselves. If I click on them, they reappear, but the window I just clicked on hides itself as well.
So only one program can be seen at a time, anyone have an idea as to why this might be happening?

It is possible that a hidden "Dock" setting has become enabled - if so, it wouldn't have happened by accident because there is no GUI for that setting in OS X, however some third-party software could have been responsible.
If this behaviour only happens when switching applications via the "Dock", and not when using "Cmd-Tab" or the "Finder", etc., try opening "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Terminal.app" and entering these commands:<pre>defaults delete com.apple.dock single-app

First make sure you are searching the name correctly.
If the app is no longer in the App Store it is no longer available for download. This happens when Apple has found the app violates the agreement with the developer or when the developer no longer wants the app listed in the App Store.
If the app is truly no longer in the App Store your only option is to copy it from iTunes on the computer you normall sync with.

Change position of another app's window

I am using python and pyobjc. I need to change position of another app's window.
Information I have is title of window. Also I can get window number by using Quartz.CGWindowListCopyWindowInfo().

This is an annoying problem for me too. Recently upgraded from CS2 to CS4. I use styles a lot and like to keep the palletes for them open on the bottom right of the screen. I used to reduce the width of a window of a document back so it sat to left of these palletes and it would stay this way whenever I opened it, but now every time I open a document it defaults to full screen width and so need to move the styles palletes to access the thing at the bottom right of the document window to resize it. This is very annoying. How do you set it so Indesign remembers a document's window width as well as its position? If you can't, why the hell not? Also tried this with application frame, but it has the same behaviour within the frame. Not keen on application frame anyway, still like the option-click on the desktop behind to hide the app quickly.

App icons changing to another one already installed?

This has happened to me twice now:
I installed an app and it had the right picture with it. The app opened and worked. The next time I went to the page on my iphone the app had the icon of another app but it still loads the app right.
What's going on?!?

That rules out that theory then, CAT cable it must be, all being the neighbour will agree to my request.

I have a problem with Apple but I hope that I can find someone here who has faced the same matter and can help me!
Some weeks ago I sent my first app (the publication is a single-app catalogue) to iTunes Connect and everything was smooth (it has been accepted and placed in the App Store in 5 days).
Instead last week I sent another similar publication (a single-app catalogue created in the same way as the first one) but the app has been rejeceted for this reason:

Actually I do not understand what they mean with "placeholder text" but above all I would like to ask to someone expert - I rely on BOB! - (I am a newby to DPS and Apple) if this means that I have to re-create from the start the app from the Folio Builder changing something in Indesign or if they just mean I have to modify something in iTunes Connect without touching the binary file.
I am in a great confusion because they say the "app metadata" does not include a description of the app's features but I do not know how can I change the "metadata" within the app (in fact I believe that when they refer to the "app metadata" the mean the "metadata" inside the app and not the metadata that I add in iTunes Connect).
The doubt that I have now is that maybe the last update of the Viewer Builder or of the Folio Builder has changed something that now generates this issue?
Of course I am contacting also Apple for this issue, but in the meanwhile it would be a relief for me to hear a suggestion from here!

app metadata is the description text you enter while adding your app into
iTunes connect.
as is in the statement, for doing metadata changes, you don't need to submit
a new binary (aka .zip file containing your folio)
add more details of the feature of you app into the description in iTunes
connect aand you should be fine.
there is no 'metadata' inside tje binary of your app that you can change.
but Bob can add sth. to this eventually.

How can I change the contacts app settings to view by groups?

When I had an iPod Touch (3rd generation), I was able to sort my contacts by groups by using another app and then when I launched the default contacts app I could tap the "Groups" button and I saw a list of them (Family, Friends, Businesses, etc). That way, I could tap the group I wanted and only view those contacts. Now I'm using an iPhone (4th generation with iOS 6.1.2) and it is the most obnoxious contacts system in the world. I now have to unselect every group I don't want to see, and it's a pain-in-the-neck to get Facebook contacts assigned to groups as the app I use to assign contacts to groups isn't "permitted" to use those contacts that are from Facebook or those who don't have a Facebook link unless I add them and delete the old. I work with a nonprofit organization and I have a lot of contacts for various businesses through them but I shouldn't have to unselect 12 different groups just to view a single group. I've tried looking in settings and can't figure out how to change this. I must have over 100 contacts and this is a pain to deal with. Did Apple really think this was the best change they ever made to the contacts app? Considering they still haven't implemented the ability to assign contacts to groups...
Another thought is why not also view contacts by business or "theme"? Such as, what if you have a large, extended family and might want to view just 1 section (like my cousins' family who have various last names due to marriage). This is why being able to view by group is so important to me but if I create 5 different groups for family and friends, that means I have to unselect 4 of them AND all the other groups for businesses, work, community, etc just to view the specific contacts. So, did Apple change this or am I just not seeing how to view them the way I want?

I assume that you are in Germany ? Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPad and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select Germany.

SharePoint 365 Deploy App -- "another App with the same version and product ID."

When I want to deploy App I got this message:

If the App exist why it doesn't uninstall it. And also its not possible to Retract:
Skipping the uninstall step because the app for SharePoint is not installed on the server.
I solved my problem by changing ProductID manually but I don't want to make the server with dirty small apps.
Any idea?

Hi,
Check the Site URL in project properties to which the app is installed.
You have to choose the right path first where the app is installed and then Build>Retract.
Then change the path to new one and try build. It looks like you are trying to retract from wrong Site URL.

Window doesn't refresh unless you click to another app (on Mac)

When I scroll, click on a link, or click on another tab to switch to it, FF appears to be frozen and nothing moves/changes/happens on screen. If I then click to another app (e.g. Outlook) and then back on FF, the new content appears instantly. It appears as though the browser is loading the requested information, but does not actually ''draw'' it until I click away and click back.
I already tried deleting and reinstalling.
ETA: This happens every time I use FF, not immediately upon opening. It crops up when I've been using it for a little while (say, a half-hour). It may have to do with having multiple tabs open, but I don't see an exact correspondence between the problem and visiting specific sites or having a certain number of tabs open.

I am unable to click to select with my track pad so I enabled my magic mouse in order to even get into System Preferences to check settings. I understand that they are set up separately. Unfortunately, that didn't help

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I am facing this problem while start debugging the Provider-Hosted app through VS2013. I want to deploy the app with same version. So please let me know any solution
to remove the app instance from office365 online, so that I can deploy the same app with same version on the specified "Developer Site".
Note: If I change the version in AppManifesst.xml file then this problem/error gets resolved. But I want to deploy with the same version as
per my business requirement.
The actual error renders while I click to "Start" button of the Visual Studio 2013 to deploy the provider-hosted app, for the sake
to deploying it on say "ABC" site collection (i.e. developer site). I work on office365 online. Therefore, request you to please provide the solution for SharePoint online office 365. The occurrences is:
