Metadata from original video

Is it possible to retain the metadata from the original video somehow after going through and using Premier Pro CS5 to blur out pieces of videos?  I need to be able to retain the metadata for defense attorneys to be able to see what the "original" was and what exactly was done to the video.  Thanks in advance.

  • CC 2014 - Audio quality reduced from original video

I used to use Adobe Premiere Pro CC WITHOUT THE 2014 version FYI
    Let me explain:
-Back then i've been using Adobe Premire Pro CC peacefully using the GPU Mercury Playback thing activated. No problems AT ALL.
-After recording a TV program and getting the AVI File when finished recording, i tested that RAW file to hear it's audio and see the vid with Windows Media Player. Audio quality was perfect, clear and high as it should.
-Whenever i placed that AVI file into Premiere Pro CC (again, NO 2014 version), the audio and video played as it did in WMP.And when rendered/exported to a new file after some edits, it still kept the quality and all that stuff!
.....NOW, with Adobe Premiere CC 2014, there's a BIG PROBLEM....Whenever i place THAT SAME RAW FILE in CC 2014....The video played nicely,yeah...framerate stable etc...The problem is...that the Vid's AUDIO quality has been REDUCED and it's NOT CLEAR ANYMORE,and it happens to ALL THE PREVIOUS AVI FILES I HAVE!!!
What have adobe done?...Don't break what's working correctly!!!...Now i can't go back to Adobe Premiere CC WITHOUT THE 2014 version because of the new version STAYING FOREVER!
Please,HELP ME!!!. I can do a video of what i'm saying so you guys understand the situation.
    DV

To be honest,i have not a single clue about it...Never touched the Audio and Audio Hardware Settings. I tried searching online on google  for a solution and i think found a solution (This one had a similar? problem as mine) . I had to change an option in Settings->Audio Hardware-> ASIO Settings then something above 512 of the Buffer, aka 1024, though i've touched "default" and it changed to 2048. The problem disappeard.
But...i think i know why it might've been the problem after all..i think... What i did to begin with  was to put a "Bandicam" (It wasn't a TV show in the end,SORRY!) recording (in it's default settings) into CC 2014 and it's audio (in CC 2014) has been like muted ,though whenever you skip the timeline forward, you can hear "a huge distortion" that doesn't matches the recording's audio AT ALL (D**n,i played a music in the background while recording and, once finished recording i've played the vid i've made and the audio was there, perfect quality)... After that i wanted to "Mute the Bandicam's audio track" and put the song that should've played over it.. Then whenever i've played the vid to see how it looked like, that song i've placed over the "broken audio" GOT AFFECTED TOO... Perhaps it was just THE BANDICAM VIDEO'S AUDIO FAULT!!
(Though somehow i got lucky to ,from a random chance, to have that audio i've inserted manually to play and also render/export in it's correct quality...Weird!)
...Then i tought "Did Adobe screwed up?...". I've closed CC2014 100%,restarted the PC,opened CC 2014 , grabbed a DIFFERENT Video file ,this time from a TV Recording (this time,YES,TV,sorry)  and whenever i click the Play button in the preview...The audio played exactly as the original video did...I even tried placing that same song over it to see if it did distorted and didn't
...Perhaps i am doing something wrong now...or are some Adobe settings being changed like crazy without my aknowledge (or something) ?
    My PC is:
    Intel i5 2500K
    660GTX Ti OC 2GB (GIGABYTE/Nvidia)
    8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
    Windows 7 64bits Home Premium
    250GB SSD
    1TB HDD
    If there's something i should try out to see if the problem could be vanished FOREVER please let me know X_X;

  • Premiere Pro 7.0 dropping random frames from original video

Here is one of many problems I am running into. When I import original video into Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0 it always leaves out a few frames in random spots scattered throughout a clip (I'm guessing this is what is referred to as dropped frames).
I first noticed this when I went to sync the audio mp3 files, which are imported seperatly, to the video clips and found that the audio clips are a few frames longer; and the audio/video don't match up.
I was hoping someone could shine some light onto why this is happening and what can be done to remedy it. I've fiddled around with differnt settings when loading a new project with no success.
I am importing the origina video from a folder on my desktop. It is MPEG-2 format and came from my Sony Handycam DCR SR45 camcorder. Below are the properties for the video according to a video player on my computer.
    Video:
    MPEG-2 Video
    720x480 (16:9)
    29.97fps 9100Kbps
    Audio:
Dolby AC3 48000Hz stereo 256Kbps (this audio doesn't show up with imported video files which is why I import seperate mp3 audio)
    P.S.
I've recently been told that MPEG-2 files are not ideal for video editing. I've also been told that Premiere Pro doesn't recognize AC3 audio, which is why I am importing the audio seperatly as mp3 files that I have created in another program. Also I've been told that the camcorder I use is not ideal for editing purposes.
So, if anyone sees any reasons to disagree or concur with these statements, please let me know. But, as for right now, I currently have existing video from this camcorder that I MUST make work in Adobe Premiere Pro, so please help me work with what I got. Thanks.

I have began uploading 2 vidoes to the DropBox.
One is the original that came from my camcorder, the other is the attempted converted DV AVI.
The footage is a clip of a turkey hunt i filmed for a friend where a turkey is shot at and missed. The video is not that great but I still need it and other similar clips.
I'm not sure if your familar with Dropbox or not.  We mainly use it for PDF's from architects and Contractors, but I am trying it for video for the first time.  Here is what it states for sharing files publicly:
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
The Public Folder lets you easily share single files in your Dropbox.  Any file you put in this folder gets its own Internet link so that you can share it with others-- even non-Dropbox users!  These links work even if your computer’s turned off.
Step 1:  Drop a file into the Public folder.
Step 2: Right-click/control-click this file, then choose Dropbox > Copy Public Link. This copies the Internet link to your file so that you can paste it somewhere else.
That's it!  You can now share this file with others: just paste the link into e-mails, instant message conversations, blogs, etc.!
If you'd like more help with sharing files, head here: http://www.getdropbox.com/help/16
    Happy Dropboxing!

Note: You can only link to actual files within your Public Folder, not to folders.
I guess I will try to paste these links now even though they are still uploading.  I will re-paste them later when the upload is complete.

  • Updating MetaData from Original Masters Possible?

    Hi,
I spend hours (well, most of a day) importing my 13k+ stock library into Aperture after switching to Mac. I used to use Extensis Portfolio on Windows to catalogue my finished files.
Well, it's my own fault for not checking as i was going through all this (I assumed Aperture would be at least as intelligent as Extensis Portfolio), but Aperture seems to be very, very picky about what it recognises as valid IPTC information.
Now, all my images have been IPTC tagged using various versions of Photoshop over the years, but many of them seem to have lost their Description (Caption in Aperture) field during the import.
I have now fixed the problem files by using Graphic Converter to go through my entire collection and resave all the TIFs - which seems to solve the problem (openeing them in PS CS3 and saving them again, doesn't make the issue go away with older files, although new PS CS3 files work fine when imported).
Is there a way now to make Aperture extract Metadata again, or do I have to literally destroy the entire library and start again from my now corrected original masters?
I have to say - I'm not terribly impressed by Aperture stumbling over such a fundamental thing as importing IPTC data - Extensis Portfolio has no problem extracting IPTC data from just about any version of Photoshop.
    Thanks for any help.

I have the same question. I have around 40 images out of a total of 7,000 or so in Aperature for which the IPTC metadata embedded in the original images does not display in Aperature. I don't know the reason for this, but I am looking for a way for Aperature to "extract" this existing metadata.
    I'm on Aperature 1.5.6 -- v. 2.0 is on order.
    Thanks for any help.

  • NightShot Effect...how to remove it from original video

Hello, I recorded about an hour worth of video with my camcorder and the NightShot effect was on... so now I want to put this video on dvd....I was wondering if theres a plugin effect for imovie 5 to remove that nightshot effect and get the colors back again, that green effect looks awful...thank you

... Greg, + for that, my first idea too, ok, in case the camcorder has some additional IR-light, the eyes look a little... spookey, but anyhow.
besides, making videos b/w, plus adding some black borders top/buttom (cinema effect), and if possible add a little slow-mo can make them looking very "stylish"...

  • How do you remove EXIF data from a video shot on an iPhone5s?

I'm trying to remove location metadata from a video of my daughter before posting to YouTube and can't figure it out.  I tried opening the video in Adobe Premiere and Bridge and both don't display the location data for some reason, they fields are just blank.  But I can see the locaction data if opened in Quicktime or iPhoto, but neither program allows you to edit the EXIF data for some reason.  And any app I find seems to only work on photos and not videos.  Any thoughts?  I'd love to upload this video without revealing our exact location.  Thanks.

  • Is annotation for a hyperlink to another video is possible from the original video?

    hi there,
i have been working on Adobe Presenter trail period for a while and thanks to adobe it's a tremendous help.  i have a doubt- is it possible to hyperlink to another video from the original video.
i.e after creating a video i want to integrate another video into the original one through an annotation that will be displayed on the original video which provides a link for my second video.

Thank you, Ian. That sub-menu is what eluded me all right. It certainly seems to me to be one way I can do this: using the Paste Formula Results sub-menu under Edit. But before I copy the cells as you say, I will have to take several prior steps.
In the new sheet I have to select the top left cell of the subject range and there enter "=". Then, in the original sheet, I must select the corresponding cell. Returning immediately to the new sheet, I need to drag the cell right to extend the formula to two adjoining two cells. Now I need to drag those three cells to extend the formula to the bottom of my table (quite a number of rows, but the number matches that of the original sheet). Only at this point am I in a position to apply your suggested method: that is, copy what's already selected and use Shift-Command-V to paste the formula's result throughout the range.
I feel sure that will do it. But if anyone has any further suggestion as to how this could be done less cumbersomely, I would be very happy to hear it before I embark on the task ahead - because that will have to be repeated for another 24 new sheets in a couple of files. Quite a lot of work.
So, whilst you've helped me materially, a question still remains as to whether some other method might be possible?

    Peter White

  • How can I retrieve original videos from a TV DVD made in Adobe PE?

I imported the TV-formatted DVD, that I made, into Premiere Elements 11, but it is just one big file with the soundtrack not separated from the original video soundtrack, and the video files all merged together. Is there any way to separate them? Norman

    Norman,
I was afraid of that. Once the two original Audio Streams have been mixed-down, they become one - the camera's Audio + the Soundtrack Audio.
Now, about the closest that one can get, would be to use something like a Karaoke Effect, in an Audio editor. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq_i18n?s=editing&i=remove-vocals
This would remove some of the vocals, from the camera's Audio. Then one could shift the Phase of the Karaoke Audio Track, by 180 degrees, to try and mute the Soundtrack Audio, in the original file. This is a real touch-n-go operation, and might have but a small effect on that mixed Audio file, that you now have. With a bit of Gating, and Filtering, plus some extensive EQ work (available in many Audio editing programs, and with VST plug-ins), one might be able to get close to what you want. It will not be easy, and will require a lot of hand-work, plus critical listening.
It would probably be better to go to that original camera Audio, Import that, then cut it up to match the edits originally performed in the Project. Then, one would add a new Soundtrack Audio. Finally, the ripped, mixed Audio (with the original camera Audio and the original Soundtrack Audio) would be Muted, or Deleted from the new Project. One would have to do a lot of editing to that original camera Audio, and syncing could take some time, with trial and error, but the result would likely be better, than trying to separate the mixed-down camera Audio and Soundtrack Audio.
Good luck, and sorry for the bad news.

  • Trouble maintaining original "date taken" info and metadata when exporting TIFFs from original CR2 files.

When exporting TIFFs (from original RAW), I noticed my metadata said the "date created" was the day of export. I want to be able to access the date the original image was taken as opposed to the day I exported it. Is there a way to maintain original date of image taken in my info? I couldn't seem to find it after I exported my TIFFs...

I just tested this with LR 5.5 Mac OS 10.9.3 and it works correctly for me.
    To troubleshoot your problem:
    1. Which version of LR and which platform (Mac, Windows)?
    2. Which tool or command are you using to examine Date Created of the exported TIFF?
    3. Upload a sample TIFF showing the problem to Dropbox or similar and post the URL here. This will allow us to take a look in detail.

  • Deleting original video from ipad after editing in imovie

Hi everyone. I am new to imovie on the ipad and I have just bought a GoPro Hero 2 to take some video.
My problem is that the video I am taking is in large clips.  The camera is on for about 20 mins at a time and the useful footage is about 5 - 45 sec long each clip.  I am planning to make about a 5 min movie but as you appreciate the amount of footage I take to get 5 mins of the good stuff is huge.
I want to know if I can make a project of multiple clips, that I want, but delete the original video which is 98% rubbish and clogging up the ipad?  This process is going to take some time so I just want to get what I want ready for editing and delete the excess.
I tried to delete the original footage from iphoto after I edited out the stuff I wanted but then the project footage was lost.
I apologize if this has been answered or if this is a basic question but as I said this is all new to me. Any help would be appeciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Ask on the iMovie forum, that's the best place for iMovie help.
    2. When you get there, ask about export settings. Sounds like that's where the issue is.

  • Cannot export a video from imovie because the original videos are deleted from the album

    Hi,
I made a mistake. I have an iMovie project but I cannot anymore export the project, because I have deleted the original files.
However, I am able to play the video within iMovie by only playing it as "play full screen". If I try to play a video in the list of first page starting the imovie it would not play. A notification pops up saying "none of the missing videos were found. If the missing videos are on you computer, sync the videos to your device and relaunch iMovie." Although I already deleted my original videos..
So the movie seems to be somehow there.
Also before when I deleted my videos in album, I finished a step of uploading on youtube. But when I checked my youtube video menager, the video shows as it failed and unable to to convert video file.
Do you know a way of how I can export the movie again?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Kevin

    Any luck?
I to have the very same issue and can not get it off my phone to view on a pc or similar ?

  • How do you import media and metadata from Windows Photo Gallery database?

How do you import videos and photos and their metadata from a Windows Photo Gallery database into the Elements Organizer, especially metadata that is only contained in the Photo Gallery database file (pictures.pd6) and not embedded in the video and photo media files themselves?
And when you import the metadata into Organizer, do you get all of these available elements?
    Ratings
    Tags
    Captions
    People tags
    Geotags
Also, if the media files in Organizer are ever moved to another PC, is there a way to migrate all of the Organizer's metadata with the files to use with another instance of Premiere Elements?

OK.  I think we're getting close to the answer.
The reason I'm asking about this is because for Photo Gallery, media files can NEVER be moved without losing all database metadata.        I'm sorry I didn't know this when I started with Photo Gallery and I think I've learned an important lesson:  Be sure you can move your work BEFORE you start.
So, to clarify Organizer's behavior, let me ask the question another way.  Let's say that in a few years, after I've added tags, people, places, etc. to hundreds of media files in Organizer, I decide to get a new PC.   When I move all that stuff to my new petabyte drive on the new PC, do we know if Premiere Elements Organizer on the new PC would be able to read the original Organizer's metadata?

  • If meta data LUN is totaly destroied , is there any way to rebuild the data from the video LUN

If meta data LUN is totaly destroied , is there any way to rebuild the data from the video LUN ????

What happened to your metadata? Are you sure the metadata is gone?
In theory, file carving could be attempted on the data LUNs, but you would need a tool that understands how Xsan lays out data across LUNs in a stripe group and hope your fragmentation isn't too bad. I doubt such a tool exists, but if one does it almost certainly is not publicly available. You should probably contact a data recovery service with experience recovering data from Xsan. Do that before you do anything else if this data is really important.

  • Removing EXIF and other Metadata from iPhoto 5 Library

This post is intended for users who have upgraded to iPhoto5 and have suffered extensive slowdowns because of metadata that has accumulated in their iPhoto library, specifically in the Library.iPhoto file.
This occurs if certain Pentax, Canon, and other digital cameras are used for pictures. Search this forum for "metadata" or "EXIF" or "makernote" (no quotes) for additional information about this issue.
If you are affected by this issue and want to rid your iPhoto 5 library of this extra garbage, follow the steps below.
    1. Make two copies of your complete iPhoto Library folder and put them someplace else other than in the normal location. If something goes wrong, you'll have the backups. In any event, understand that if you follow these instructions, you are responsible for any problems, errors, or loss of photos. If you aren't prepared to take that responsibility, then do not read any further.
    2. Go to http://www.versiontracker.com and search for and download the free SmallImage application. Install it in your Applications folder.
    3. In your original iPhoto library, trash the Library.iPhoto file.
    4. Launch SmallImage by dragging your entire (ORIGINAL) iPhoto Library folder on top of SmallImage.
    5. There are 5 categories (checkboxes) of metadata (called profiles) that you can eliminate. I selected them all. Uncheck the "Recompress at quality:" checkbox. You don't want your photos altered. Uncheck the "Add Suffix" checkbox so that SmallImage will overwrite your photos with ones without the metadata. Select whether you want keep any custom file icons or not. Then, hold your breath and push the "Process Files" button in the SmallImage toolbar. If you have thousands of photos and/or a slow computer, it might take many hours.
    6. When SmallImage is finished, lauch iPhoto5, holding down the command/apple, option and shift keys. Before iPhoto fully loads, you'll be presented with the library rebuilding dialog box. Check ALL 4 options (especially the last one) and then allow iPhoto to rebuild the library. This also can take a very long time, depending on computer speed and the number of photos you have. When iPhoto is finished rebuilding the libary and reloading your photos, you'll have an iPhoto library without any the metadata that seems to be slowing it down. If you hold down the wrong keys and don't get the library rebuilding dialog box, don't panic. Quit iPhoto, and try it again. Your photos are still there.
    7. If you stay with your current camera (that is generating the metadata), manually transfer your picture files to your computer (but not directly into iPhoto) and use SmallImage to remove the metadata BEFORE you manually import them into iPhoto5.
Hopefully, future versions of iPhoto5 will include an import option to strip metadata from photo files. If SmallImage can do it, why can't our favorite fruit company?
    Best of luck.

  • Why is the video in the preview af lower quality than the original video?

I have a question about the quality of the video seen in the preview. This is not as good as the original and also not as good as the original video seen with fe mediaplayer.
I already read some similar discussions and I have tried some things:
Starting a new project with other settings (PAL HD 1080i, 25fps), this does not help.
Rendering the video if necessary, this does also not help.
    Some information:
The video's are from a PanasonicHDC-SDT750 full HD camera. Setting 1920HA.
Output files are MPEG   imagesize 1920x1080, 25 fps, 48 kHz
Computer: Inte(R)l core (TM) i7-3632QM CPU 2.20 GHz 8 Gb RAM
    AMD High definition audio devise
I hope this information is enough to help me, any help is surely appreciated.

    carla68
Thanks for the follow up. Let us go through the check list to make sure what you are seeing should be the best possible
    1. Project preset....Based on the Panasonic HA setting, the camera should be expected to be recording 1080i (in your case, 1920 x 1080 @25 interlaced frames per second). Either you (manually) or the project (automatically) should be setting the project preset to match those video properties, using
    PAL
    AVCHD
    Full 1080i25
When you import that source into the Expert workspace and drag it to the Timeline, there should be no colored line over its content indicating that the file needs to be Timeline rendered to get the best possible preview. In fact, with no colored line, if you press Render, you will get file playback and not Timeline render.
Are we OK on this so far.
    2. Right click the Edit area monitor, select Playback Quality, and then compare the set for Automatic versus Highest.
    3. Go to Edit Menu/Preferences/General and the option there
"Timeline render quality (valid for HD projects)" and determine if it is set for "High quality, Slow Speed". If not, set it to that choice.
    4. The bitrate for your source is 17 Mbps. If you have exported
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    MPEG2
    with Presets = MPEG2 1920 x 1080i25 High Quality
you should be OK bitrate wise since the defaults for the preset are
    Minimum 18 Mbps
    Target 25 Mbps
    Maximum 30 Mbps
Have you looked at the export of
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080p25?
    5. Is your computer's video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
Please review and consider the above.
    Thank you.
