Metadata not showing in Bridge

Until last week I was happily using Bridge with my picture captions and credits showing in the metadata window.
Now all of a sudden they've gone. The metadata panel only shows the content of the Title field.
The metadata is still there when I open 'file info' in PS but Bridge has decided it doesn't want to show it any more.
I've rebooted, quit and re-launched etc to no avail.
Any ideas?

Doing so without pressing the option key while restarting Bridge and choosing reset preferences is unlikely to solve problems, try again with this method and choose reset preferences.
See if they came back and then set preferences again to your wishes. There is a dedicated metadata preference tab where you can divine which fields should be shown or not in the metadata panel (mind you, this only affects the visibility of the fields, they are still there in the file info)

  • Metadata changes not showing in Bridge

I have added some metadata to some files in Lightroom (both keywords and some IPTC info like city, country, etc).
But when I look at the files in Bridge CS2, I don't see the changes.
Do I need to commit the cahnges somehow?

This problem seems to work in other way also:
If I edit RAW picture in lightroom, give it rating, flag and color label, they doesn't show in bridge. However, if I put keywords in Bridge _after_ editing image in lightroom, keywords never show up in LR.

  • Metadata not writeable via Bridge

Annoying but not crucial problem -- I have recently migrated image management from iPhoto (save those brickbats, folks) to Bridge. In some folders containing psd or jpg images, there is sometimes an image file whose metadata cannot be appended, replaced, or edited. I checked file permissions using Terminal, and the file has the same permissions as all the other files in the folder. I opened one of these files in CS3 and edited the metadata, but after saving and closing, the metadata doesn't show in Bridge. Purging cache has no effect on this problem.
    iMac 2.16 core 2, Leopard 10.5.4, CS3 10.0.1, Bridge 2.1.1.9.

I'm not sure but do believe it has something to do with OsX 10.5, there are some issues about metadata to psd and jpg files.
Apart from that I personally would not go in to terminal for file permissions. In finder you could do with the get info command to check and have you already tried to select one of the files in Bridge and use the right mouse click (or ctrl click) to see if the file can be locked or unlocked?

  • .tif thumbs and keywords not showing in Bridge.

After creating a new catalog in Lightroom 4, the .tif thumbs and keywords won't show in Bridge? .tif files created via the default catalog still show; and from what I can tell, the catalog setting are identical.

The catalog settings pf Bridge and Lr are not identical.
Bridge doesn't work with a catalog.
Lr works with a catalog; that means it works with a database where everything you do in Lr is stored - automatically (without the need for <save>) and instantly.
Bridge just reads files from disk and doesn't have a catalog (database), and - particularly - it cannot read the Lr catalog.
So, in order to make metadata, such as keywords, captions, title, and also your edits created in Lr visible in Bridge you need a "information shuttle" between Lr and Bridge.
This feature is already built into Lr: When you <save metadata to file> (see below on how to do this), Lr writes the data that are saved in the catalog also to the image file (not in the image pixels!!).
In case of a Raw file, a xmp side-car file is created, in case of TIFFs, PSDs, JPGs the data is written into the file header.
If this is done, Bridge will read the data from file and will display your images accordingly.
To <save metadata to file> select one or several images in the Grid View and go >Metadata >Save metadata to file. Alternatively press Cmd / Ctrl + letter S on your keyboard.
Or, you can select <Automatically write changes to XMP> in >Edit >Catalog Settings > Metadata tab.
Color labels will be transferred correctly only if the textual descriptions for the labels are identical in Lr and in Bridge.

  • Metadata not showing in Aperture, but exists in original file

Lots of photos in my Aperture library seem to not be showing their metadata. I say "not showing" because the metadata is indeed present in the actual files when I open them in Preview. Preview lists full EXIF, GPS, camera make and model - everything. And they appear to be linked in the library correctly, because I open them by right-clicking to Show in Finder.
These are all Referenced Masters (as is everything in my library). They tend to be photos taken on an iPhone 5, and are in my Photo Stream. That's about the only pattern I can discern. This only is happening with about 1000 of my 30,000 photos.
    I have tried:
    -Reopening Aperture
-Reconnecting masters (although they always show as Online)
    -Repairing library permissions
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!

Oh looky here... this Metadata -> Update from Originals menu is exactly what I need! Seems to be working like a charm.
Figures, as soon as I finally post the question, I figure it out!

  • Metadata not showing up in folders but on desktop only

When exporting photos from lightroom on to my desktop, I am able to view all the Metadata information when "getting information". However, that information does not show up when the photos are exported into individual folders within the computer. I am exporting the files the exact same way, so I am not sure why the information is not appearing the same.
I am on a Mac and working with Lightroom 5.
    Thanks!!

I'm wondering if this isn't an operating system issue somehow, because it doesn't sound like anything Lightroom would do.
Have you tried using an actual program to look inside your exports to see what metadata is there, instead of relying on the operating system to tell you? One such program is ExifTool, but there are many others.

  • Camera Raw Defaults & Presets not showing menus (BRIDGE)

    Hi There
I just upgraded to a new version of PS CS3 & Bridge and the option to apply Presets, or to Apply Camera Raw Defaults is not showing when I right click a file in Bridge. It also doesnt show up in the menu. I need to be able to Batch process hundreds of photos at a time and then convert them to Tif formats. I used to be able to do this by applying my Adobe Camera Defaults to many images at once. How do I do this now????
I am running Bridge 2.0.0975 and PS 10. Help!! This is critical for me!!!
    thanks so much!

    > Even if old versions are available for download, having older versions available on disk in case of malfunction is a perfectly acceptable practice.
    > This applies to any update of any software.
Agreed. I have gigabytes of disk space packed full of iso's, dmgs, and zips for
(almost) all of the software I've installed on my computers. It's a pain to
manage sometimes, but I know I can go back and reinstall PS7 (for instance) if I
need to even though I have no clue where the CD is at. It's just one part of my
configuration management and backup strategy. I don't have a sysadmin to take
care of this kind of thing for me any more, unfortunately, so I have to do it
    myself.
This plan also has the advantage that I don't have to be online to download
older versions from a vendors site (if it's even available) or go searching for
a seeded torrent (if it's not).
I'm not saying this approach is good for every one or even good for anyone but
me, but it is a perfectly valid way of doing things.

  • Metadata not showing up (flash osx bug????)

I have a problem that shows up intermittantly, for multiple folks on my team.  We've duplicated this only on OSX and in 10.1.85.3.  Occasionally for some of our movies (H.264 in mp4) the metadata packet doesn't show up (NetClient.onMetaData isn't fired).  We've saved tcpdumps and seen that the data is there.  We've seen this accross players (jwplayer, osmf, wowza simplevideoplayer).  We think that this is some weird timing problem.  Has anyone else seen this, any idea how to get past it?

    Hi
I have notice that all the metadata PAGE DESCRIPTIONS are absent form all the sites lately. What happened to them? Most of my customers have used the SEO PAGE TITLE and PAGE DESCRIPTIONS for pages, blog post, and products, but there are not being employment and it seems to hurt there rankings at search engines. Any thoughts?

  • Lightroom Keywords not showing in Bridge

    Hi all!
Our companyy photographer uses Lightroom to archive and keyword all of his pictures, which is fine!
The graphic designer, who uses the pictures (that's me!) has to search the picture archives using Bridge (again, fine).
However, the keywords that the photographer painstakingly puts in when he imports images into Lightroom do not show up when I search using Bridge!
We have tried selecting images in Lightroom and hitting Command-S to save the keywords to the file itself. But this doesn't seem to work!
Anyone got any suggestions / help?
For reference, we are both using up-to-date desktops and software (as of March 2010).

Just tried two files with keyword in Lightroom 2 and using Export as PSD to
a folder I have pointed Bridge to. Using the quick search at top of the path
bar or find command in Bridge does provided me the files with that keyword

  • Actors metadata not showing on ATV2

Can someone tell me why when using metax the actor information will not show up on the ATV2?

    Alley_Cat,
Thank you so much, it is so much faster than metax.  May I ask a follow up?  I encode using handbrakes default ATV2 preset, do I need to enable anything in that setting or in subler to be able to output AC-3?
In handbrakes preset I see the AC-3 pass through is there and when I open in Subler I get an unchecked box for the surround channel but stereo is checked.
    Shall I check both?

  • White Balance Metadata not showing in Adobe Bridge CS6

Hi there, I am running Bridge CS6 on a Mac, and use Canon 5D and 5DMark 111 cameras. I have an issue with Bridge which I can not seem to figure out. Whether I shoot Raw or JPG and I am trying to do some testing for white balance, once I open the images in Bridge, in the little icon panel just below the folders/favourites panel etc I can see the f stop info, speed, metering , ISO etc, but the only icons I get for WB are if use auto - then I see AUTO.  But when I do a manual WB like 'cloudy', 'tungsten', or 'shade' etc all I get are the symbols for 'Custom" or "Manual".  How do I get the actual symbols for what type of WB i've chosen to show up?
I have purged the Cache - both in the individual folder and the overall Cache in preferences.  I have checked that all the boxes are ticked in the preferences panel for the Metadata.  So not sure what else to do.
    Cheers D

Ok thanks for that, at least I wont be chasing my tail.
I did install the DNG converter 8.3 but I still NEF files as a NEF icon. Any clues to what I may not be doing right there?

  • Some folder contents not showing in Bridge CS3

Some folders will not display in any way in Bridge. It does not seem to matter whether they are Jpeg or RAW files. Other folders on the same internal drive show fine. Tried several options with no luck.

I should have researched a bit more. Did the holding Ctrl while opening Bridge and purged everything. Took care of it.
    Thanks though

  • Why is metadata not showing in CS3?

    Hi,
Having just upgraded Mac 0S10.4 Macs from CS2 to CS3 the metadata on some files is no longer displaying in Photoshop 10.01. The files that are affected seem to have been created in CS2 for Windows. Can see the metadata in Bridge, Preview and Graphic Converter but have no idea how to get it to display in Photoshop. (Its not a Mac OS10.4 issue because it doesn't work in Leopard either.)
If anyone has any ideas they would be very gratefully received!!!
    Thanks!
    Tippareth
PS: If the image is opened and saved in Preview the metadata will then display in Photoshop

    Thanks Rabbitman,
Good to hear I'm not the only one with this problem but concerned that no one else seems to know of it or has answered it yet. If anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear them, or perhaps if it is a known bug in Photoshop CS3 it would be good to know that too!
    Thank you,
    Tippareth

  • RIFF Metadata not showing in Windows Explorer

    Hi -
I've been testing CS6 for inputting Metadata into the RIFF and BWF headers, and then opening them up in Audition 3.0.1 to see if the mapping is the same, or, if any fields are missing across products.
One thing I've discovered is that when I add metadata in CS6 and save the file, the file information (from the RIFF fields) does not display in Windows Explorer.
However, if I open the same file in Audition 3.0.1, the metadata is there, and if I re-save the file in Audition with a different name, the metadata does display in Windows Explorer.
Is this a bug, or, am I doing something wrong in CS6?
    Thanks!
    Allison

ensure you have some image in your "Camera Roll". Take a picture then plug it back. if still didn't show use your "Scanner and Camera Wizad".
