Metadata repeating on viewer

Hi all,
I've set up a new metadata view, which just shows ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed and Focal Length. Great! Now when I view a large image in the Viewer mode, it appears to be repeating the metadata on two lines. One in large font and the next line in smaller, as can be seen here:
http://img.serialphotography.com/Aperture-20090809-151947.jpg
Could anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can get it to show just a single line of metadata?
Thanks!
Alastair

Some metadata items, like those you picked as well as some others like rating are "special". If they are included in the view and the image/thumb is large enough they will also be BIG. After screwing with this stuff for years there does not appear to be a way to effect how and which "special" metadata items are presented.

  • Using Metadata to generate view as conventional folder structure

Can Metadata be used to generate a view as the conventional folder drill-down?
I have a list with metadata for different projects, releases, content type etc and I would like to view them in folder structure with different hierarchies, i.e. using projects--> releases--> content-type as well as release --> projects --> content-type.
I have asked the same question at : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22693036/using-metadata-to-view-as-conventional-folder-structure

    Hi,
If your metadata is based on a hierarchical term set you could use ‘Metadata Navigation’.
You may have to change your information architecture a bit to accommodate this approach. More info on ‘Metadata Navigation’ here:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/sharepoint-server-help/configure-metadata-navigation-for-a-list-or-library-HA101820113.aspx
    Hope this helps

  • Metadata in List view not showing up?

In Folio Producer I have fields filled in with metadata (Article Title, Description)
But when I preview on iPad using the TOC list view, these are not there. See attachment.
    Suggestions or insights?
    Thanks in advance.
    Tom

Actually, no. Descriptions are only visible when scrolling through articles using the 'flatplan' view using the top right button.
The table of contents will show Kickers and Titles.

  • MetaData information about views in a schema--Please help

I want to access the metadata information about a view say,View1 in the schema schema1.How can this be done?

    Hi,
I want to access the details about columns in the view. The listed tables contain only the Query corresponding to the view.
Is there a view in Oracle (SYS Schema) that presents the Metadata information in the format similar to USER_TAB_COLUMNS(the metadata view for tables in sys schema).

  • Copy does not show File 2 metadata in Nikon View NX

A picture opened in Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 and saved as a copy jpeg (after color correction) when opened in Nikon View NX 1.5.2 does not show the
metadata with shutter speed, lens aperture, etc. However, that same picture shows the original info in Photoshop (File info > camera data). I wrote Nikon and they claimed Photoshop and other third part apps "ruin the shooting data." Opinions? Suggestions? Thanks

Well the problem is that, in Windows, the menu bar is owned by the application. When you view the PDF in the browser, the browser owns the menu bar and chooses what to show. Hence it shows only the browser items and not the Reader menus. If you view it outside the browser, Reader is running stand-alone and shows it's menu items.
I think, all you can do is show make sure the button bars you want are exposed by default.

  • Importing Metadata in Smart View

    Dear All,
In Smart view when I migrate the metadata from one worksheet to other its is not getting migrated. I have followed the below steps still its not..
To import metadata to a copied worksheet :
    1. Back up your work.
    2. From the Smart View menu, select Options, then Advanced, and ensure that Improved Metadata Storage is
    selected.
    3. Use Excel to copy a worksheet. This operation copies the visible contents of the source worksheet but not the
metadata (connection information, POV selections, alias tables and the like) to the destination worksheet.
    4. With the destination worksheet active, from the Smart View menu, select More, then Import Metadata to
display a list of all open workbooks and their corresponding open worksheets.
    5. From the list, select the worksheet that contains the metadata that you want to import to the destination
    worksheet.
    6. Click OK. You will be asked to confirm your selection.
    7. Refresh.
Help in solving this issue is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kamal

I don't know what back end you are connecting to, but when I follow the steps you outlined with Essbase's Good Old Sample.Basic, it works just fine -- the members that were selected in the POV are migrated across.
This is on Excel 2007 with Essbase 11.1.2.0.

  • Request: Ability to update metadata via spreadsheet view or csv file upload

A fairly simple change to make Muse more efficient and user-friendly.
I'm in the process of building out a medium size site for a client (90+ pages) - my first experience using Muse - and editing metadata is a pain. I've planned the site: page titles, descriptions, page names, etc, but updating metadata isn't the first step in my creation process and now I'm going back through updating information. My have a 2013 Mac Pro and 2013 Macbook Pro and both systems take time to update this information with so much data buffering and being updated.
    My request:
The ability to update metadata across a site without the changes being executed until we applied the changes. For example, changing site view to a spreadsheet view with each pages information. Then, I could update a bunch of pages and hit enter, and walk away while it takes 5 minutes to update. This would also eliminate the hassle of requesting page properties from each page separately.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Custom metadata in Library View

    Hello!
Is there a way to display custom metadata text on the photo cells in Library View?
    Thank you!

Nope. And I can't think of a single way to elaborate that answer - sorry.

  • Adding metadata to thumbnail view (additional fields)

I found the ability to add a metadata display to the thumbnail view. However, it seems like it only displays 15 or so available fields. Unfortunately it
    b does not
include the "Title" or "Document Title" field which is the one I really want to see.
is there an add one or extension that would allow me to display this field in the thumbnail view?
    I'm using Bridge CS3.
    Thanks!
    Carlos

Curt - I see that you are reading both my posts. Thanks!
The details area of thumbs preferences allows up to four lines of information - unfortunately the metadata fields you can choose are fairly limited. In particular, I was hoping for the "document title" field which is not an option.
Andrea's problem appears to be completely different. Looking at the screenshot it appears that she is actually working with the metadata focus view rather than thumbnails. As far as I can tell, there is
    b no
way to actually select the data that is shown in the content panel of metadata focus. In fact, I think that it renders that particular view almost useless. Why have a view that makes it easier to look at metadata, but then don't allow you to customize it.
Oh well. I guess what I'm getting out of the two metadata related postings I have, is that Bridge is actually not very flexible when it comes to metadata...

  • Metadata appearing in viewer

I am making a book when i add a photo to the page template in viewer the metadata appears below the photo i have 2 questions
1 will the meta appear in the printed book
2 how can i remove it
    regards
    Tony

The metadata will appear (or not) depending on what templates you select (including which book theme), and yes, if it is on the page it will be in the book.
You need to look at where the metadata is being displayed, find the field in the template that is showing it, click on it and delete it from the page. If you are selecting a page template that includes metadata then you will have to do this for every page.
Deleting it from the page does not delete it from the template, only from this page.
The easiest was is to not use templates that have meta data embedded on them

  • Metadata Navigation Tree View in Quick Launch for Wiki Site

I have successfully enabled managed metadata navigation for an Enterprise Wiki Site. When new pages are created they get created in the term set and I have have organised them into a hierarchy that I want.
I would really like the quick launch to show a tree view of that managed metadata navigation hierarchy.
How could I achieve this? Would this require a completely custom SiteMapProvider along with some jQuery or similar to render the tree view?
Alternatively I am happy only showing a few levels of hierarchy with the OOTB quick launch, but I need to show the parent node for any given page I am on, to assist users navigating backup up. What control could I add just above the quick launch to show
    the parent node?
    Thanks for any help,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
as i know there are some example at 2010,

perhaps you already tried some of the example?

  • Where can I find metadata for Power View reports created in sharepoint 2013.

I am looking for what I would assume is the sql server tables that would hold the MDX (DAX) Queries for the power view reports.  Example my customers may create say 30 reports and I need to know quickly if an attribute I am changing is in those reports.
How can I find out what report(s) are using that attribute/measure?  Not sure that it matters but using sharepoint 2013 on premise and connecting to Analysis Services (molap).
    Ken Craig

P.S.  if this is still not making sense create a power view report in SharePoint from a SSAS cube.  Save that power view report in SharePoint.  The power view report should
have a couple of measures and 1 or 2 dimension.  Open the report just to confirm it is saved correctly.  Now go to SSAS and rename 1 of the measures or dimensions that you used, Save and rebuild your olap .  If it’s a calculated measure
you just need to save olap.    Now open your power view report and notice that that measure/dimension you changed is no longer in the report.
IN one hand it is great that reports do not error and break; however, on the other hand the users might not know what measure/dimension changed and then be lost/mad because the report no longer
works like they want.  In my opinion it would have been better if the power view broke with an error message that it cannot load because measure x does not exist than to just load fine.
In any case I need a method to know when a dimension/measure is modified what reports are using it.   Another example is this could even be a case where the dimension values are getting
modified and we need to potentially make a update to any power view/pivot using this dimension as a filter?

  • MetaData For Database View Columns How ??

    SELECT * FROM user_tabs_columns WHERE table_name = 'EMPLOYEES';
The above query will return column information like data_type, lenght etc for the columns in the EMPLOYEE table, how can one retrieve such information on the columns / fields in a view instead of a table. I have views built from several tables, and I use the data returned from quering the views as records displayed to the user in an AJAX application, using the data-grid widget in the said AJAX library. If the user has rights to edit the records, I need to use specific ajax widgets (like a date widget) to edit a field if the datatype information provided by the database is DATE or DATETIME, if the field is nullable, I can permit the user to enter nothing, and I can restrict input length to the lenght of the column. But since the record is spread across several tables and pulled out from a view, I therfore need a way to get the column information on the said view.
    How can this be achieved.
    Thanks.
    Charles Odili.

You should still be able to use the USER_TAB_COLUMNS view to obtain this information. I did a quick test below:
    SQL> create view test as select * from all_objects;
    View created.
    SQL> select table_name,column_name from user_tab_columns where table_name='TEST';
    TABLE_NAME                     COLUMN_NAME
    TEST                           OWNER
    TEST                           OBJECT_NAME
    TEST                           SUBOBJECT_NAME
    TEST                           OBJECT_ID
    TEST                           DATA_OBJECT_ID
    TEST                           OBJECT_TYPE
    TEST                           CREATED
    TEST                           LAST_DDL_TIME
    TEST                           TIMESTAMP
    TEST                           STATUS
    TEST                           TEMPORARY
    TEST                           GENERATED
    TEST                           SECONDARY
    13 rows selected.
    SQL> spool off;

  • Metadata Browser - selected view

I may be missing something, however....
It appears to me that the 'Metadat Browser' only acts on the entire 'Library'. Is it possible to select a folder...or just a selection of images...and have the "Metadata Browser' so the breakdown for just those items?
    thanks...JOHN

Just select all the images you want to change and go to the Menu »Metadata > XMP > Export XMP Metadata to File«. This will create a sidecar (text file) to each of your image files containing all the Metadata Lightroom uses.<br /><br />Now find all those .xmp files with your favourite File Browser (Spotlight on Mac, ??? on Windows) and load them into a text or xml editor that supports batch search and replace with multiple files (I use TextMate on the Mac, I'm not sure what the Windows world has to offer on this).<br /><br />Within those text files you'll find a line like this:<br /><br />   <aux:Lens>EF-S17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM</aux:Lens><br /><br />Replace the text as you see fit or create the line just above the aux:ImageNumber entry if no aux:Lens entry exists.<br /><br />Now go back into Lightroom (make sure all the images are still selected) and go to »Metadata > XMP > Import XMP Metadata from File«. Give LR some time to update the Metadata Browser and have fun.<br /><br />Alexander.<br><span style="font-size: small; color: #408080">-- <br>Canon EOS 400D (aka. • Repeating Event Viewer;event 26226,Chkdsk

    Hey,,
I installed Visual Studio 2013 for the first time just to see if I would be even somewhat capable of handling or understanding it. As I began exploring the features, I triggered the "event viewer".  It reported "Event
26226 Chkdsk". Just before I installed the Visual Studio I ran analysis and clean-up of C and D drives. Nothing eventful there, regained about 1.75 GB of space then moved on. The event viewer keeps reproducing itself in its entirety non-stop unless another
program starts running, then it reports that event, then starts again. The same info over and over. I can't find the stop switch,  Can someone please help?
     Thanks
    The Rookie

    Hi EWAGOSIA,
After all, I am supposing this is an information or warning level event, does your computer have symptoms such like frequently hanging, random freezing or blue screen? If not so I guess it's nothing to worry about.
I still think it is caused by bad compatibility of some applications or drivers. You could start with update your video driver and DirectX.
If the error still persists update all device drivers and keep your system up to date for good measure.
