Metadata wrong shown in Bridge 5

Hi, using Photoshop 5 to generate eps-files will generate wrong metadata espacially in resolution and size.
Example:
An image has the size 600 x 600 px and 300 dpi.
Saving as image.eps (8 bit tiff, ASCII) it will be shown only 144 x 144 px and no resolution.
Has anyone a sollution?

Hi Jon,
are are right, Bridge supports only text fields for custom metadata:
Booleans have to be "True" or "False"
Dates have to be entered in ISO8601 format, e.g. 2011-08-26T13:53-02:00
Lists of Strings are working when you use commas or semicolons to separate the entries.
Dropdowns are not working
You have two options to accomplish you workflow:
You can use the "Generic Panel" example and feed it with the same XML file. This shows the "My Choice" property as dropdown.
But you have to open the File Info dialog to see and modify the properties.
You can create your own panel using the Creative Suite SDK with Flex, if you have programming skills.
Hope this helps,
-- Stefan

  • Customer names with cyrylic characters are wrongly shown in Bex Analyser

Customer names with Cyrillic characters are wrongly shown in Bex Analyser. The master data is correctly maintained and extracted\loaded by BW for these customer (Master Data object is correct). This might be a Bex Designer issue.
Furthermore, it has nothing to do with the local settings, when copying the name of the customer to Bey Analyzer the name is correctly shown.

    Hi,
We are facing the same problem with the turkish characters, Our system is BW 3.10 (3.30 Cont) and ECC 6.0. The turkish characters are displaying correctly at the table level, but not at the RSRT or the Bex level.
The turkish characters are displaying correctly at the table, RSRT and Bex level if we load the same record from the Non-unicode Prod system to the Non-unicode BW Dev system, but if we load from the unicode QA system the same record is not displaying correctly.
Has anybody got a solution for this issue

  • Error when Writing Metadata to Files in Bridge (Mac) but not in Bridge (PC)

We get an error when writing metadata to files in Bridge (Mac) but not in Bridge (PC). In the same drive and folder, the PC can successfully write a keyword to a file on the PC, where the Mac returns an error. I have researched this at the Adobe Knowledgebase, but their answer seemed to indicate it was a global issue, and we don't see that behavior on the PC.
The client is a Mac of course, and the server volume is a Windows share volume. The Mac is bound to AD, and the domain\username and username formats have both been tried when logging in, but you receive the error in both.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hi, I'm having the same problem using FreeNAS (which uses Samba and Netatalk in the backend), but I tried with both AFP and SMB on Mavericks and Yosemite, I still have the same issue.  I think it might be a timing issue with how lightroom interact with a slower write delay using network shares.  I suggest you also chime into this thread:  Lightroom 5 can't write metadata to DNG files   I really hope this is resolved as this is impacting my productivity as I moved my workflow to my Macbook with a shared NAS.

  • How do I get Premier Pro to read metadata I input in bridge?

Can someone help me access metadata I input in Bridge CS5 in files I exported to Premier Pro to create project? PP will  not let me import xmp sidecar files, but without them it seems PP will not read the metadata.  How can I use metadata in PP?  Thank you.

Welcome: sorry for the delay and that so far this is the greatest unsolved mystery.
What you can do is use .aiff files to bridge the gap. Logic will open any of those.
But you've asked the best question I've ever heard out of a first timer. It took me a little while to get to this one see the Logic forum (and way back here in the stand alone days of S.Pro).
What you're looking for is called the Soundtrack Pro Sync Source. Your manual will tell you that much, but it's not even in the Logic manual like so many Logic features that don't work right.
I believe that we're still waiting for this magical key that unlocks the dual application power to be revealed, and boy won't it be sweet. It's just not quite there yet.

  • Metadata not showing in Bridge

Until last week I was happily using Bridge with my picture captions and credits showing in the metadata window.
Now all of a sudden they've gone. The metadata panel only shows the content of the Title field.
The metadata is still there when I open 'file info' in PS but Bridge has decided it doesn't want to show it any more.
I've rebooted, quit and re-launched etc to no avail.
    Any ideas?

Doing so without pressing the option key while restarting Bridge and choosing reset preferences is unlikely to solve problems, try again with this method and choose reset preferences.
See if they came back and then set preferences again to your wishes. There is a dedicated metadata preference tab where you can divine which fields should be shown or not in the metadata panel (mind you, this only affects the visibility of the fields, they are still there in the file info)

  • HPX-370 P2 Metadata Support and Adobe Bridge

I'm having some trouble getting Adobe Bridge to write metadata to files generated with a Panasonic HPX-370 P2 camera.
The company I work for recently requested that I come up with a digital asset management plan for new video. Let me preface this by saying, I'm a shooter/editor, not a data manager.  Since we were already buying the HPX370, all my research pointed to Adobe Bridge being a perfect solution for adding metadata in the form of keywords to our videos to make our video database searchable.
Now that the camera is in-hand, I have been unable to alter the metadata through Adobe Bridge.  Here is my issue.  Every time I go to add a keyword or change the metadata on one of the mxf video files within bridge, the stock response is: The file "filename" cannot store XMP metadata.  No changes will occur.
I thought this would be fairly easy to find a fix to, but not a ton out on the net about this specific problem.  What am I doing wrong here?
If this can't be fixed easily on my end, could it be an added feature?  How do you request a feature addition?

A view problems here, first of all not many regulars (me amongst them) are very familiar with movie files.
Bridge does not seem to support MFX files in the Bridge preferences File type associations.
And in general, not all file types are able to write XMP data (keywords, IPTC etc) to, some just don't accept it.
Another possibility seems that you don't have read and write permissions to the files, folders or disk the files are on. The files also might been locked (but then they should show a small lock icon above the thumb.
    Also try this page:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WSE2397406-3FEB-43df-868D-68EB20BBC021.ht ml#WSCEE5677A-075C-40bb-99D9-D8EE08FC68B4
and maybe even better, drop this question in the dedicated Premiere Pro forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere
And while Bridge is a perfect application for the workflow needed for pre process and process it really is not all that good in dedicated DAM functions, maybe you also try to look at third party applications that can handle movie files better then Bridge can.

  • Adding Metadata deletes keywords in Bridge 2.1.1.9

I had keyworded a large number of images. I then noticed that I had not applied my usual Metadata info (IPTC Core) (copyright, name, address, etc). I went to the Metadata panel, selected and clicked to Append my 2008 Metadata to the large number of selected and previously keyworded images.
The Metadata was written to the image, and all the keywords were removed. I do not believe that this problem has occurred with previous versions. I thought that Append Metadata would do just that, i.e. add the metadata to the keywords in the IPTC location. I would think that this keyword removal would occur if I had selected Replace Metadata.
What am I doing wrong, other than not adhering religiously to my workflow and inserting Metadata before the Keywords as I usually do.

I found the following info in Bridge Help:
Apply metadata templates to files in Bridge
    Select one or more files.
Choose either of the following commands from the Metadata panel menu or the Tools menu:
Append Metadata, followed by the name of the template. This command applies the template metadata only where no metadata value or property currently exists in the file. (Append isnt available if youve selected multiple files.)
Replace Metadata, followed by the name of the template. This command completely replaces any existing metadata in the file with the metadata in the template.
Note, Append Metadata is available regardless of number of images selected, and deletes Keywords regardless of number of images selected.

  • Key words (metadata) created in Adobe Bridge not searchable with Leopard

I archive a LOT of photos on my computer. I had tagged countless keywords into my thousands of photos. I could search for the keywords in Finder and life was great. I had upgraded to Leopard and my keywords disappeared! I have reverted back to Tiger after other issues. My power source failed and I was having bluetooth and ethernet issues.
Now with Tiger back, my keywords have reappeared. Will they once again disappear if I load Leopard again?

You can try, but I am guessing that the metadata importer used by Spotlight that Adobe wrote for Bridge isn't compatible with Leopard.

  • Metadata from Lightroom to Bridge

Using Lightroom 3 to import images from SD card to Mac hard drive. Complete set of IPTC metadata entered as a preset in Lightroom, does not appear in Bridge. All the fields are blank. Would you please explain why this is happening, and pointme to instructions to do this correctly.

I believe you have to choose the option, "Write changes to XMP" to have that happen. For those files that you have already added the information, try highlighting them and pressing Ctrl(Cmd)/S.

  • No image Metadata when outputting from Bridge Web Gallery (CS4)

I use the Web Gallery option within the Output module in CS4 Bridge to process my photos to the image size I want for uploading to flickr. However all the metadata data gets stripped out.
Is there an option I am missing to retain metadata?
Of course I can add back in any IPTC data I want, but I should not have to do that more than once, what I am really annoyed over is the Camera Data (EXIF) is gone.
    Software Details:
    CS4 Bridge (3.0.0.464)
    Output Module
Web Gallery (Standard or HTML Gallery)
    Mac OSX 10.5.7

Look into the Image Processor in Bridge or, better yet, install Dr. Brown's Services 2.0.2, a free, brilliant set of scripts by the same author as the Image Processor, Russell Brown.  It's like the Image Processor on steroids.

  • Script to convert metadata to xml file - Bridge CS6/InDesign CS6

I need a script that will convert metadata in Bridge to an xml file I can import into InDesign so that when I export long documents the alt text for photos is already included with the images.
    Two problems -
    1) I need the scripting for dummies version - from step 1 to end.  I have zero experience with using scripts, as in - did not know they existed until a few days ago.
    2) If the script needs adapted - see #1; there is very little hope that I will have any idea of how to do that without assistance.
I will be grateful for any assistance!!  I do want to learn how to do this, if I can.

  • Metadata Panel missing in Bridge

I have the latest version of CS4 (11.0.2).
I was working in Adobe Bridge when an error msg. appeared saying that Bridge had a problem and would close. I rebooted, and when I accessed Bridge again, the Metadata Panel was missing. I have "Metadata Panel" checked under the Window menu item, but that doesn't help. I've unchecked and rechecked it, but to no avail.
    Any thoughts?

I just fixed the problem by resetting the preferences. I found another problem in the forum that was solved in this manner, and I tried it. It worked, but I have no idea why.

  • Metadata - Issue Can You Customize Apertures Metadata to work with Bridge

I am a photographer and my workflow is to import all my images into Aperture library and add metadata. When exporting image is it possible to integrate the data with Bridge? This is important feature as most people do not import images with Aperture. The issue is that many of the field names are different or non existent between the two programs. For example Location in Bridge is Sub location in Aperture. Can you add contact info such as URL, email that are included within Bridge?
Is there a way to customize the metadata fields to work with CS3?
    Any advise is greatly appreciated

    Hello Dhruser1,
I think that the DAQmx Perform Bridge Offset Nulling Calibration should work for the SCC-SG24 module.  Take a look at this article:  Removing Large Initial Offset for Load Cell or Strain Measurements with SCXI-1520 or PXI-4220 in particular it mentions that using this VI in addition to the auto zero can introduce an offset.  If you're doing both these is likely the cause.
Also, when you specify specific channels using the channels input are you also setting the "skip unsupported channels to false?  If not this may be why it affects other channels.
I hope this helps, and if not please feel free to post back with an update after trying these things.
    Cheers,
    Brooks

  • Incorrect pdf dimension shown in Bridge CS3

I didn't see that this problem has been posted previously, but the dimensions shown for pdf documents in Bridge are much smaller than the actual document dimensions. It would be nice if I could confirm the page dimensions without opening a pdf in Acrobat, but that's not possible when Bridge reports page dimensions like 2.6" x 3.5" for an 8.5" x 11" page size pdf document.

I'm also looking for an answer to this one. It's been bugging me for over a year now. Does anyone have any clues at to how to get Bridge to display the correct dimensions for PDF files? It would be even better if it would display the dimensions of the TrimBox as a separate option too - although I'd just be happy with anything that worked at this stage!

  • CMIS Connector Thumbnails Not Shown In Bridge

    Dear Sir/Madam,
We have a CMIS interface to our database and are using it with Adobe Drive 4. The Bridge does not show thumbnails for the assets in the database. I have tried connecting to a different CMIS repository (Alfresco's) and thumbnails are not shown there either.
Can the bridge show thumbnails of assets accessed via the CMIS connector? If not could it be enhanced to do so? We support the cmis:thumbnail rendition (and a few others) that could be used.
    Kind regards,
    Ian

    Hi,
    Can you please try:
    1. Install the latest Bridge build by installing latest Photoshop build
    2. Remove the folder /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Media Cache
    3. Launch Bridge and purge cache of the MOV files.
Please tell me whether the issue is still there.
    Thanks!
    Best Regards,
