Method involked when a window is shown and hidden?

Are there any methods which will be invoked when a window is set visible and invisible (shown and hidden)? WindowAdapter doesn't include such kind of methods.
I need to do some initialization/cleanup when window is shown/hidden (note: I don't mean Open/Close)

When a window is open and I try to go to a new bookmark or a link in an existing site, the new window opens behind the old window.

It isn't every time, and sometimes doesn't happen for a long time, then I'll go to a bookmark or toolbar link and the new window opens behind the one I was on. Example: I just opened a second window (CTRL N) and clicked on a bookmark. It opened a new window behind the one I'm on as I type this. I did the same steps again and it opened the new window in front of this one. It doesn't seem to make any difference which site I start from or go to or if I use CTRL N or let the bookmark do the opening.

This can happen if you have a tab open in the main browsing window that uses the plugin-container process (e.g. Flash).

Black-screen when finalizing Windows 7 install and a few other things

hi! ill get right to it.. i recently decided to install Windows 7 on my iMac due to the fact that i want more
flexibility when it comes to gaming. i made a partition using Boot Camp, then rebooted with the Windows 7 cd.
after a reboot or two the installation seemed to be coming to an end.
however, when Windows was starting up to finalize the installation the screen just went infinite black.
so thats where im stuck right now. however i have seen alot of discussions on different forums (with positive feedback)
on how to fix this problem with ease. apparently, one way of doing this was to delete atikmdag.sys from the Windows 7 System32 folder,
and then start Windows without problems to complete the installation.
and heres the problem im facing on top of it all: i downloaded MacFUSE in order to be able to see/gain access to
my Windows partition. the problem is, when i try to delete atikmdag.sys or anything else i am not allowed.
the entire partition and all files within seems to be write-protected. my rights are read only - and it seems that
i cannot change this. how come?
i am logged in as admin and i have all rights available for my files and folders on my mac-partition..
if there is no way of altering the permissions for the Windows 7 partition via OS X in order to
delete this atikmdag.sys file, how can i solve my Windows install problem? is there
any other way of doing it?

Why do I get this annoying windows every now and then?

A window pops up and goes away quick. I went to Console and looked at a log when the window came on and off I quickly went there and the las thing was the massage below. what is it about? its a new Mac book pro retina.

I ended up resetting everything, it turns out that my Thunderbolt connections were not even working when I plugged in the ethernet adapter and I wasn't able to reinstall Mountain Lion so I used wifi and it worked. It took about 7 hours but it got rid of all issues.

Actually, I suspect you can't. You get various behaviors based on a combination of settings in Preferences > Interface; namely Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window Docking; but it doesn't seem to make much sense as far as I can tell. Thanks to the-edmeister and cor-el, for speed of response. I had not inadvertently moved the Bookmarks-Toolbar : I was confronted with the situation right after Firefox 9 had installed and unfolded in front of me. At first, the toolbar area looked reassuringly familiar, but when I started normal work, I discovered the lack of tabs and the only reference I could see to TABS was a tiny button inviting me to group tabs (which was unhelpful to say the least, filling up the screen with tiny unreadable windows). Sure, there were tabs forming, but they were invisible, unless I used the group button. Eventually, I was brave enough to use "reset toolbars" and the tabs came back in the way I want them, but it was a traumatic 2-3 hours out of my life. I kept on "adding a new toolbar" to see if I could make use of it; I kept giving them names, but it is impossible to see where the new tool bar is! (the toolbars don't have a little bit to grab at one end). In my opinion, Firefox should not have allowed the Tab Bar and the Bookmarks Toolbar to become caught up with each other - they have completely different functions. I don't think I would like to play around with "Make a new profile"! I was so desperate that I have already downloaded version 3.6 again, ready to install, for if I was unable to resolve the version 9 problems above.

I have 8.1 and iTunes and its working. My cloud doesn't so I had to remove the 'sync contacts and calendar to the cloud' and to back to the old say, but I just synced my iPad and iPos (both running 7.0.3) last night and it worked.
There are features with 8.1 that may be messing things up. For example there's a setting when you upgrade to 8.1 where you can turn off the automatic install of drivers. With devices, every time the iOS and iTunes updates there is a new driver to make your device visible on a computer. If you turn off that auto install then you may have blocked your computer from getting that driver.
In addition, with iOS7 there came the 'do you trust this computer' which is a choice you have to make on your device. If you tell your device no, then it may have issues connecting to your computer.

I'm having the same problem in other places as well, for example when i downloaded Easyfind right now, clicking the small magnifying glass button on the right of the file name (shown below) would usually open up finder highlighting the file, but now nothing happens when i click on that button!
Is there a solution for this, as this was a very useful feature which i used ALL the time?

"Could not complete scan" error when using Windows Fax and Scan with a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus All-In-One network printer.
Printing is fine.
When using the HP Scan application, get the error "Scanner communication cannot be established".
When scanning from the printer itself it fails with the same message. In addition the printer panel displays the error:
"The scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following issues:
Connection to the computer is lost
The scanner is in use
OCR application is not installed"
My PC is a HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit, with ethernet cable to the router and ethernet cable to the printer
Originally ran Windows 8.0; recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.
Older separate Netgear router and modem was replaced with a newer Netgear Router/Modem, but both experienced the same problem.
There was no problem with the original Windows 8.0 configuration and only after upgrading to 8.1 did the problem emerge.
On my home netowrk I have an HP ProBook 6550b running Windows 7 sp1 that uses wireless to get to the Router, and it has no problem with scanning.
I have followed the recommendations of a number of articles relating to this issue (including: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02915410&product=4323659#N94), but there has been no change in behaviour.
The printer has a static IP address;
Power settings have been adjusted to Never for Turn off Hard Disk; Sleep and Hybrid Sleep.
Scanning has been tested with all firewalls and antivirus turned off and in Selective Startup.
The printer has been plugged directly into the power socket.
With all these settings the Windows 8.1 cannot scan while the Windows 7 laptop with wireless to the router has no problems.
Appreciate any insights into this problem.
I can only surmise that the problem is a compatibility problem between the 8600 Printer and Windows 8.1.
Any ideas?

You can determine if there is compatiblity between the printer and PC by checking the Windows 8.1 hardware compatibility list. I have done that and it is shown to be fully compatible. If the driver you installed before was only the basic driver,it would explain the lack of scan and copy functionality.
Download and install the Windows 8.1 full feature driver and software on the HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit PC .

What Event is Triggered When a Title Window is Shown?

I am creating the Title Window Component once, and then
showing it with PopUpManager.addPopUp, and hiding it with
PopUpManager.removePopUp. I need to run some logic each time the
PopUp is shown. However, I can't figure out what Event is triggered
when the TitleWindow is "opened". The window is there, it's just
not being displayed. This make me think that "show" would be
triggered, but it is not. I also tried "add", but this threw a RTE.
Any thoughts?

Since I couldn't find an Event to trigger, I am instead using
an override of protected function commitProperties() to run my

when install QuickTime7.7.1 and call QT SDK's interface(OpenMovieFile method) to open file, it doesn't work. i will get error(-36). but when i use QT 7.6.9, it works well.
so how can i use QT SDK(install QT7.7.1 and OS is windows xp) to open movie file which fullpath include wide unicode characters(like D:\Media動画).

Sorry I cannot follow why you would even use the PC to control the Time Capsule. Apple have not kept the Windows version of the utility up to date.. so they keep making it harder and harder to run windows with apple routers.

How do I share Mac music and photo files when in Windows Bootcamp mode?

I have a new iMac with a terabyte of storage that includes about 30 gigs each of iTunes music and jpg photos. I need to share them to the Windows Bootcamp environment so I can wirelessly stream to them to a DLink DSM 320 media server connected to an AV system located in another room. When in Bootcamp Windows the the 320 can "see" the Windows machine but cannot find any media.
So the question is, how do I share files between Mac and Windows when in Windows Bootcamp?
A better solution would be to directly connect the Dlink when in the Mac environment but I have not been able to find software to do that (the Dlink product is for PC only.) If anyone knows of such software that would be great too.

Windows needs third party software to see files on the MAC OS extended FS. I've heard MacDrive does this.
