  • External load real and target data in SSM?

    Hi,
    I have a question,
    Can I load the real and target data  in the "metrics manager" module externally?
    Any connector is for this? Can I bring from BW the actual and target data?
    In the "metrics manager" manually load the data ...
    Is there another way to do automatic data loading?
    Thanks for your help..

    Hi,
    You can load data (real and target) with metrics manager, BW connector or directly in PAS.

  • How to create a metric in BOXI R3 performance Management

    Hi All,
    Can any one tell me how to create a metric (goals and calendar) in BOXI R3. In BOXI R2 there is a separate module where we can create metrics, golas and calendar... Is there any separate module like that in BOXI R3 or  not. When I logged into infoview then I'm unable to see the module which I had earlier mentioned. Is this any thing related to Admin access or not.
    Thanks in advance,
    Suresh Aluri.

    Hello Suresh,
    I am not sure exactly what you are refering to, but in case :
    In Infoview of XI 3.x, you have to click on "Open->Dashboard and analytic" then "performance Manager->Metrics".
    I recommend you to read the well-done "training" PDF  "xi3-1_getting_started_performance_manager_en.pdf"
    The PDF should be on SAP site.

  • Performance manager sql action rule for updating metric table

    Hi, I need to update metric stop_date using a sql action rule (Performance Manager execute sql action rule). My problem is I can't update stop_date into the PM Repository Database. Sql action database connection is properly set, but when I set sql for executing update in table ci_probe and I schedule the rule the system doesn't seem to connect to Database (the rule run successfully, but the table ci_probe is not updated). I don't understand if the problem is database connection or wrong sql code.
    Can Anyone help me with suggestions or sql action rule samples?
    Thanks

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager TNSPING Metric

    Hi All,
    I wonder tns ping metric on OEM is actually representing data for TNSPING to database server from which server?
    I'm not really mastering this topic, really appreciate your answer.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Jolly

    The listener "Response" metric evaluates "tnsPing" and "Status".  These metrics are evaluated by the agent, and it does this by running the script lsnrresp.pl which is located in:
    <install location of agent>/plugins/oracle.sysman.db.agent.plugin_<latest plugin version>/scripts
    eg. on my machine this is /oracle/12cagent/plugins/oracle.sysman.db.agent.plugin_12.1.0.2.0/scripts
    ie. so  lsnrresp.pl is run on the machine where the agent/database/listener resides.
    Although it's running on the local machine it is still making a tcp/ip connection  (ie. it's doing the equivalent of:-
    tnsping "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=machine1.oracle.com)(PORT=1522))"
    You can manually run this same tnsping command yourself from a database home of a remote machine (the machine where you're having difficulties from) and compare the difference.
    Make sure that you use the same hostname and port when you run the tnsping command manually as EM is using.  You can find out which host and port EM is using by either checking:-
    a) the targets.xml (from the machine where the listener is located) -
    eg.
    <Target TYPE="oracle_listener" NAME="LISTENER11203_machine1.uk.oracle.
    com" DISPLAY_NAME="LISTENER11203_machine1.uk.oracle.com" ON_HOST="" EMD_URL="h
    ttps://machine1.uk.oracle.com:3872/emd/main/" TIMEZONE_REGION="" IDENTIFIER="T
    ARGET_GUID=881E917E1CE1D3BECC361599ACDAEEEB">
                    <Property NAME="Machine" VALUE="machine1.uk.oracle.com"/>
                    <Property NAME="Port" VALUE="1522"/>
                    <Property NAME="LsnrName" VALUE="LISTENER11203"/>
                    <Property NAME="ListenerOraDir" VALUE="/oracle/orabase/11203rdbms
    /network/admin"/>
    or
    b) go to Enterprise Manager, go to targets/all targets.  Select your listener, click on it (will take you to the listener home page).
    Then once on the listener home page, go to 'oracle listener' (drop down menu), pick "target setup"/"Monitoring Configuration"
    It would be interesting to run the tnsping command manually from the problem machine (if you have a database home on that machine) and also to just do a 'general' ping from the problem machine to the database machine, and then do the same tnsping and ping command from the database machine itself and compare the difference.  It might also be useful to repeat this on both machines but using  ipaddress and see if you see any difference in the response time.  Also check that the hostname is resolving in the same way (eg. same dns etc.).  And to check whether any firewalls are involved.

  • Performance Manager - How to purge ALL metrics?

    Is there a way that I can purge all the metrics within Performance Manager without having to go and select one metric item at a time and purging it?

    Hi Gavin,
    Via DM, selecting individual metrics and purging them is the only way, and as per desribed in the post above.
    However, though not recommended at all, and should be done with extreme caution... You can truncate the CI_PROBE_VALUES table in the repository, but you will also need to update the CI_PROBE table by setting the refresh dates again. This process also entails stoping the AAxxx servers and restarting them after you truncated and updated the tables. Again CAUTION, but it can be done.
    Then, there is the other way using the PMDT tool. Again you need to understand how and what it is capable of. You will export all the assets to the XML files. Remove the universe(s) in the setup tab and add it again. Then import the XML files with the assets again into the repository. Remember, removing the universe(s) is as good as reseting the repository...
    Also, depending to what extent you are using EPM, choose these methods carefully. Else start clicking away and purging them individually...
    Regards
    Jacques

  • Collect metrics failed because 'Query Datacenter Managed Object Reference' is not executed

    Hello,
    This is my first post on this forum; I am working for a Cisco partner.
    I am working on Tidal Enterprise Orchestrator 2.3.0.441 (hotfix1 and 2, content update 1), part of CIAC starter edition.
    Scheduled Collect metrics failed in 'vSphere Datacenter Sync' and in 'vSphere Cluster Data Sync' parts
    Problem is at the level of 'Query Datacenter Managed Object Reference'
    Input is Datacenter name (well defined, value is not '*'), but this box is not executed (stay white). Next box : 'Set Datacenter MOR' define a variable with value 'Datacenter-' instead of 'Datacenter-[output of Query Datacenter Managed Object Reference]. And finally 'Create Cluster table" failed because a root element is missing (the datacenter name)
    So my question is why 'Query Datacenter Managed Object Reference' is not executed ?
    I change nothing in the workflow, and Datacenter is normally well defined.
    thank you for your help,
    Cheers,
    Nicolas

    This particular utility workflow is set to not-archive completed instances.
    This means that, after it finishes, it is not saved to the database and you can't see the runtime information. It improves performance and saves database space, but does make troubleshooting a little more roundabout.
    You'll want to turn on archiving temporarily to see what the error message is.  Open the process, go to the Options tab, and check the "Archive completed instances" box.

  • Problem in refreshing Performance Manager Metric

    Hi,
    We are Using SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP3.
    On this environment, we have configured SAO BO Performance manager / Dashboard manager Application (not EPM).
    While refreshing the metric following error occurs;
    Error:The probe engine cannot query the repository.(EPM 03008)<Metric Name> : ORA-00936:missing expression
    Any clue on this?
    BTW, I have tried to debug the problem and verified that, the query generated for metric is syntactically correct and runs without any problem (when @prompt replaced by actual date).
    Some more details are as below;
    Created a Calendar (Monthly) and also Created a Dimension.
    The Connection is created which has privileges to access both PM Repository Schema and the Report Data Schema.
    Thanks,
    With Regards,
    Sachin Dalal

    the very simple strategy to do is to call removeAllItems() method for the 2nd combox box and then insert the contents. this is because the validate() method is not repeatedly called and so the contents are not updated immediately.

  • "Software Usage Metrics initialize failed" error when open Report Manager, after moving ReportServer from SSRS 2008 to SSRS 2012 (Native Mode)

    I've asked this question in SQL Server Upgrade forume, I'm asking here as well:
    Your help is highly appreciated!
    After migrating ReportServer db from 2008 to 2012, when access Report Manager throughhttp://myserver:80/Reports, I got the error below:
    ui!ReportManager_0-3!11d8!02/04/2013-15:19:12:: e ERROR: Software Usage Metrics initialize failed
    The process is below:
    •I successfully installed SQL Server 2012 (64-bit) Enterprise as a Native Mode on a server who runs Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (64-bit).
    •I restored "ReportServer2008To2012" and "ReportServer2008To2012TempDB" in SSRS 2012 from the db files backed up in SQL 2008. In SSRS 2008, I have SSRS Model, ad-hoc reports based on model, and I also have canned reports built through BIDS
    report server project.
    •I reconfigured both databases' Compatibility level to SQL Server 2012(110) from SQL Server 2008(100).
    •I configured SSRS through Reporting Services Configuration Manager as below:
      > I chosen "Use built-in account:" as Service Account
    > In "Database" tab, I selected "Choose an existing report server database" and choose "ReportServer2008To2012" db, I used "Windows Authentication" (my login has the System Administrator priviledge). I got all 4 parts
    success: Verifying database sku = Success; Generating rights scripts = Success; Applying connection rights = Success; Setting DSN = Success.
    > I went to "Scale-out Deployment" to check if the initializing succeed, I found nothing there.
    Here are what I did from different approaches:
    A •I went to "Encryption Keys" and restored the key I backed up from SSRS 2008, after retoring, I got two initialized instances: One is on my current server (SSRS 2012), the other one is from the old server (SSRS 2008).
       I deleted the old one(SSRS 2008) through "Remove Server" action and kept the one on my current server(SSRS 2012).
       After I restart SSRS service, and tried to connect Report Manager, I got "An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details."
       I checked the log file, the error is actually "ERROR: Software Usage Metrics initialize failed"
    B •I also tried to "Delete Encrypted Content" and did see the SSRS was initialized through checking it on "Scale-out Deployment", however when I tried to open Report Manager, I got the same error.
    Anyone had the same issue? Any solution? Thanks in advance!

    Hi
    How can I configure Solution Manager to get
    - Realtime Alerts
    - Performance Metrics every 5 minutes
    - Business Performance Metrics every 5 minutes
    Can I have all the above data in CSV / HTML/ XML format
    I have read the Solution Manager documentation, and it is cryptic for newbie starter
    Any help or pointers to someone who has done this before, will be very valuable.

  • Metrics of EWA for managed system are in gray

    Dear All,
    We have solman7.1, system configuration and basic configuration are all successfully, we have a managed system, the Managed system configuration are successfully, in system monitoring, we see all EWA metrics are in gray.
    but EWA report was generated successfully.
    Could you please advise what could be the cause and how can i fix this gray issue?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    Please bear in mind that EWA metrics are collected only once per week ususally on a Monday so you could check today and see if the metrics are being collected? If not you could check if the data provider delivers data or not using the E2E_DPC_GET_DATA_CHECK program.
    Kind regards,
    Roland

  • Can not get JMX metrics to show up in Enterprise Manager

    Hi there,
    I'm using these settings in my Instroscope.profile file (for tomcat out-of-box, no fancy configurations)
    introscope.agent.jmx.enable=true
    #introscope.agent.jmx.globalfilter=
    introscope.agent.jmx.name.primarykeys= <empty>
    introscope.agent.jmx.name.filter= <empty>
    All metrics defined in PBDs show up, but I don't see JMX metrics.
    not sure if this is the cause or not, but I'm seeing these errors in introscope log file:
    java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method javax.management.MBeanAttributeInfo.isReadable() of an object loaded from an array (which itself was loaded from local variable 'attInfo') with an index loaded from local variable 'attributeII'
    Any help is appreciated.

    While going to metric analytics in dashboard manager some of the trends such as year to year change, dual metric comparison etc are not giving the option for editing and they contain reports which are already built-in with them .How i can use these templets to show my data

    Sebastian,
    Is there any documentation that covers this?  I have no problem with IMTs but when trying to create/edit Predictive Analytics, etc. I always receive a "CI_PROBE (or CI_TSF or CI_COMPA) Universe not Found". I have to believe this related to the way our analytics package was deployed, but I just can't track down any documentation.
    Thanks!
