MF4370dn Paper Size 8.5x7

I'm trying to add the paper size of 8.5x7 so I can print to that size.  Windows 7, 32 bit, Canon MF4360-4390 driver.
In the driver, I select Preferences, Custom Paper Size... and enter the new size with a new name.
Name Invoices 8.5x7
Width 8.5"
Height 7"
Then I click Register and I receive the message
"The width is greather than the height.  Etner values iwth teh height greater than or equal to the width for [Paper Size]."
This doesn't make sense to me.  Can anyone help me add and print to an 8.5x7 piece of paper?
TIA, rasinc

Did you set the papersize on that format fixed on the Epson?
Because you need to know your margins of your epson so you can define the fixed paper size in your report.
Then define in your paper layout if you don't use the header section put height and width to 0 and define in the body sectoin your actual paper size and on your trailer section put it also to 0
Hope this can help

  • Paper size and Cell size don't match LR4

Hi I have a prob with the Paper size and the Cell Size not matchng in LR4 using a Sony UP-DR150 printer.
I'm running on Windows home premium 64bit,
i have installed the Sony 64 bit printer driver.
When i print the photo, it prints to the size 4.31 x 3.12 on the 5x7 paper.
    can anyone help?

Thank you Janelle, see below! worked like a charme! not sure How I missed that? guess  I was  making it more complicated then it should be. I also ended up uninstalling and re-installing the printer driver.
But your steps not only got where where I needed to be but even made the print on site option even better now that I can control all 4 side of photo. winstonfoto.com . this give me more room inside photo sleve to fill frame with subjects.
    Thanks again. Allen LR rocks!

  • Paper size and Cell size don't match

I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit, and using a Shinko 2145 printer.  I've been able to print 4 x 6 's with no problem but now I've loaded the printer witih 5 x 7 paper.  I've gone into the control panel and changed the setting to 5 x 7 paper size, and in lightroom (at the top) it says 5 x 7 but the cell size sticks to 4 x 6.  No mater what paper size i set it to, the cell size stays at 4 x 6.  How can I change the cell size?

Nothing changes at all, which is driving me crazy =P
This is where the printer is set to 4 x 6, which works

This is where I change the printer to 5 x 7, yet the lightroom settings stick to 4 x 6

  • About printer resolution and paper size

I need information about how to use the class PrinterResolution and his relation width paper size.
When i provide a cross a feed resolution to this class bigger values results in low resolutions: why? i dont now the DPI resolution meaning.
Please somme code example about this theme...Thanks a lot...

    Amy,
    1. I just took a picture today, and when I look in Image>resize>image size the dimensions are as follows:
    W=2288px H=1712px W=31.778" H=23.778" @72px/in. resolution
    When I change resolution to 325 px/in., W=7.04" H=5.268"
As the resolution is increased, the dimensions decrease. This is what is called an inverse relation.
Why did I change to 325px/in? Because for printing it is desirable to have a resolution of 240-300 px/in, or so. Also, note that this resolution gives me almost a perfect 5x7 size format, and one can crop off the excess readily. If one desires 4x6 size, one can crop to that dimension.
    2. I enhance the pictures next, leaving sharpening for the last step
    3. I save primarily in PSD and/or JPEG. Both PSD and TIFF allow one to retain layers, are lossless, and thus one avoids degradation with sequential editing. JPEG is is a compression format which conserves disk space (in comparison to PSD and TIFF), and is most likely required for your e-mail and your photo finisher. I save some of the JPEG files. I usually elect baseline optimized, and the JPEG allows me to elect quality 8, which is good for my purpose and results in a manageable file size.
    4. Right after I download my picture files from the camera, I burn them to a CD (i.e. before I do anything else), and right after I finish the final edits I burn them to CD as well. This is my "film", if you will. If the computer fails or if I should accidentally delete a file from disk, I still have it available.
I am sure that others will post, but that is my current work flow.

  • User Defined Paper Size, Windows 7, PSC 2110 all in one printer

I am trying to print a 5x7 photo using the user defined paper size of my PSC 2110 All-in-One printer.  When I used X
P os, it was easy to do.  Since upgrading to Windows 7, I have been using the default drivers that load with that, but it doesn't have the ability to define paper size.  Is there a driver available that would let me do this?  I've tried to use compatability mode to get the original drivers from the installation disc to work, but it won't do it.

    Hi,
The last update was for Vista, 5 years ago:
        http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4220...
At this stage, Windows 7 only supplies a very basic and generic print driver for this printer just for print. You may want to keep that way or buy a new printer.
    Regards.

  • Photosmart 375 paper size error msg

My Mac has OS X 10.10.1. When I attenpt to print on my portable photosmart 375, I receive the error message "Paper is too small. Choose a larger paper size." I believe I should be choosing 4x6 size in the print dialog box on my computer, and the same in the printer's menu, since that is the size of the photo paper for this small printer. However, in the print dialog box on my computer, no photo size options (4x6, 5x7) come up, only Letter, A4, etc.  As for the printer's menu, the  HP manual states that I can select "paper size" choosing Menu -> Help -> Paper Size, but the list of options under Help on the printer's menu gives all that the manual states should be there  EXCEPT "paper size".  I have manually downloaded the latest Mac updates for hp printers. I have reset the printer to default settings. I appreciate any help you can give.

    Hi @penelopem,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Photosmart 375 is giving you a paper size error message. I am happy to help you with this issue!
Please take a look through this guide, Changing Print Settings in Mac OS X, and follow the 10.8 steps.
Otherwise, if that does not work you can probably use the printer as a standalone using the memory card slots. Troubleshooting Memory Cards.
For future reference, your printer's user guide can be found at this website, HP Photosmart 375 Compact Photo Printer User guides.
The last suggestion is to consider upgrading your printer to one that has full feature software and drivers available for Mac OS X 10.10. If you wish to do so, please call our phone support at 800-474-6836 for your upgrade options. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.

  • HP LaserJet MFP M476dw paper size mismatch when copying or scanning from ADF

We have HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw that has an issue when copying or scanning from the ADF.
Put a single A4 sheet in the ADF and choose copy, with all settings correct & no resizing, and the output copy is moved down the page (increased top marging by a couple of inches).
My initial thoughts were a paper size issue (e.g. treating A4 as Letter or vice versa) but all settings look correct.  I have even done a reset and started over and the problem remains.
If I take the original and place it on the flatbed and copy from there with all the same settings then it works fine.
There is a similar issue when scanning from the ADF.  Again, scanning from the flatbed works fine.
I've tried all I can think of.  Does anyone have any further suggestions?  Could it be a fault in the ADF?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter & custom paper sizes

Have found all the helpful instructions about creating new custom paper sizes in Windows 7. But am complete novice & need to buy a printer for a charity. Settled on this model because of good reviews but most work will be 1 document of custom paper size. Need to know if the instructions given are fail-proof!! (Before i spend their money.)
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hello invqn,
after having performed some detailed research, as well as installing the Pro 8100 (and other products) on a Windows 7 system, we determined the Pro 8100 doesn't support Custom Sizes:  that was by design and intent.
Note that one of our engineer's proposed using a different set of drivers (from an older device) as a potential work-around, but this is unproven and may serve to limit your overall functionality of the device.
However, we did confirm that a newer device that is currently out, the HP Officejet Pro 8610 (or 8620 or 8630) e-All-in-One, DOES support custom sizes; these are multi-function printers.
Using the instructions in the link you sent, you can create new Forms with custom sizes and it will show up in the Printer Properties for you to use/select. It supports custom sizes from 3.00 x 5.00 in. to 8.50 x 14.00 in.
Our intent is only to provide information on what we know; you might take a moment and perhaps see if an HP Marketing representative might be able to give you more information, but that's what we have.
       We hope this helps....

  • Can't change paper size in Print module

When I click on Page Setting in the Print module I get a pull-down menu that has options for Printer, Presets, Layout, Pages per Sheet, Layout Direction, Border, and Two Sides but there is no option available for changing paper size. This was not a problem before I updated to 1.2. How do I get that option back? Thanks.

Have you downloaded and installed the latest Driver for the Epson R1800.
It has been said that it is best, even if you have a ppc to download the latest IntelMac Driver to install for that printer, for best results.

  • Custom Paper Size : Migrating from 6i to 10g report server engine

    Hi,
    pardon my bad english !!
I'm studying to migrate form/reports 6i to 10G. In report 6i we have reports with custom paper size ("A5" format that is half of "A4", 15x21cm).
In report server 6i environment (Win2000 server) we have done this configuration.
    - We configure printer; one input tray has "custom" format.
    - We create an OS user (es. CustRep);this user has a "default printer" that has input tray with "custom" format as default tray.
    - We create a new report server (es. CustRepSrv); this report server start as service with CustRep user credentials.
    - Every report (PDF format) generated and printed (destype=printer, desname="My Printer") with CustRepSrv report server get custom format as paper size and so fit with Custom tray definition on the printer.
Can I do the same in report server 10G environment ??
    Thanks

  • Report page scaling/zoom for paper size and field width?

Are there ways to design a report, or programmatically set a report to dynamically resize based on factors such as paper size (A4 vs. Letter vs. Legal), orientation (portrait vs. landscape), and field width (e.g fields grow and shrink based on data)?  We are looking at ways to dynamically choose paper size and scale.  This would be similar to how Excel files can adjust for printing depending on paper, and PDF files can zoom in/out for paper size.
    Thanks,

We don't want to add fields dynamically at runtime.  Instead we want to automatically resize fields at runtime to properly fit data on the page.  Currently with our 400 reports, data fields have gotten longer over the years so important data is being truncated.  We'd like it if fields could properly grow/shrink/scale so that the data is always valid.  We'd like it if the user flips from portrait to landscape, the field widths automatically grow to use the entire page.  Or, if a user goes from Letter to A4, pagination still works properly and the fields get slightly wider to fit the A4 standard.
What we don't want is to have a version of the report for portrait Letter, portrait A4, portrait Legal, landscape Letter, landscape A4, landscape Legal, etc.  It would be a support nightmare.
I don't know if it is possible, but I'm hoping it is.  Thanks for the help.

  • Crystal Report Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

I develop the crystal report 2008 with VS.net 2008. The report runs on web.
when I preview or debug with VS on my local computer, the crystal report using A4 (8.3 * 11.7 in), Which is correct.
However, after I deploy the program to the server, and try view and print report through IE, the print out is actually using Letter size (8.5 * 11 in).
Both on my local computer and the server, the default printer is set to A4 size. And on the crystal report, in the printer setup, the paper size is A4 as well.
I try on firefox, and safari. No luck. Same as IE.
The crystal report need to print barcode, and the paper size must be A4, cuz the barcode page is designed and printed on A4 Avery Laser Barcode sheet.
I tried on my PC by using remote server data souce, the printing works perfectly in A4 size (8.3"*11.7").
And I don't know why same program after deploy to the server, then it using Letter size (8.5" * 11"), which the size I never set to.
    So strange.
    Thanks

    A few ideas \ suggestions:
    1) Make sure you are using FP 3.3 runtime:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100016807202010E/cr2008fp33_redist.zip
    2) Try a simple win app - use saved data report (crystalreportviewer1.reportsource = <path to saved data report>). Does this print correctly?
    3) What print mode are you using; PDF or ActiveX?
    4) Try export to RPT and PDF from your web app. Does it export correctly?

  • Crystal Report XI Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

    Hi,
I have designed report in Crystal XI using paper sieze Letter. Multipler sites are using this application. User in USA are using Letter size paper and User in Euorpe are using A4 size paper. All reports work fine for USA users.
When Eurpoe users print the report on A4 size paper which set in Letter size, the report is truncated from Header or footer. They are printing report from Application and application is set on Citix server.
If Anybody have any idea how to setup Crystal report so it can print on any paper size?
    Thanks
    Bhagvat

    Hi Don,
    Please find the below description.
Background: Crystal Report XI is utilized to develop and view reports with data source from Oracle based LIMS application (Vendor: LabWare). The reports are printed using network printer on US Letter paper for users located in North America and on A4 paper for users located in Europe. The report format is US Letter and designed to print on both paper formats i.e. Letter and A4.
Issue: When reports are printed by users in Europe using A4 format paper the printer defaults to US Letter paper (in printer preferences) resulting to data cut off from top and bottom on the printout.
    1)      When report layout is select to A4 during developing reports using CR, the printing preferences changes to A4 when printed and vice versa for Letter format. How can we avoid CR to enforce from changing printing preferences?
    2)     According to Citrix engineers in the company, the printer drivers installed on Citrix servers have nothing to do with printing preferences and CR defaults to paper size based on report design. What do we tell them about doing different to resolve this issue?
    3)    Even though a printer preference of default printer on local desktop is changed to A4, the report gets printed to Letter format result in data cutoff.  We have tried this option with several HP printers from few different company locations.
    Thanks

  • Checks just feed through or paper size mismatch on C7250, Bad paper sensors on new printers

    Hi all,

Sorry that there may be many other related posts I only went back one month!  There appear to be MANY problems with newer HP printers and paper sensors with either checks or labels just feeding through or reporting paper size mismatch.
I have a photo smart C7250 and I have checks that I try to print with Quicken.  I purchase my checks from NEBS a large supplier of pre-printed business forms.
Sometimes when I print checks they work fine.  Other times one or more just feed through unprinted.  Other times one feeds and the printer displays a paper size mismatch error.
I also noticed one day when I put the checks in backward by mistake that they all printed fine, so today I decided to look at support for printer paper sensor problems and I found the above listed items.
I am going to try two things:
    1) placing a blank white label over some of the pre-printed areas of the checks and see if that helps.
    2) Switching back to my old reliable DJ895 for checks if that fails.
I think HP support should look at this message and the related threads I have found and come out with:
    1) A workaround or software upgrade to bypass the bad paper sensors in many of these printers, my C7250 and the other printers listed in the other threads.
    2) Feed this information back to HP product engineering and QA so that they try colored paper and common pre-printed forms as part of their printer design and testing.  As a design engineer myself, (for another company not printers) I am embarrassed for HP that as a leading printer company they could be so lax in the design and testing of their printers.
If anyone knows how to get HP’s attention please let me know!
I hope the rollup of these related threads on check and label printing problems may help you with your problems.
    Thank you,
    James

I know this is not a timely answer to your post but I just found it while trying to solve the same problem.  Several people have asked the same question but none of them seem to receive helpful replies.
Maybe you've corrected this problem by now and if so, let me know, but this is what I have decided to do.
I set aside my cards from the card/envelope set that I purchased from Michaels, bought a package of 8.5 by 11 cardstock.   I printed my message on that, locating it on the page so that I could cut off the right side and the bottom and it was perfectly placed.  If you have not done this before, you will have to score the cardstock at the fold so that it will bend nicely.   They fit perfectly with the envelopes.
Hope this helps in the future
    Linda
