MFC Report numbers vs. Individual appliance numbers

Hi,
Can one of the IronPort folks comment on the difference between the numbers I see in reports generated for a server by MFC vs. the numbers I see in reports generated directly from that server?
When I look at the MFC-generated report ('E-mail Volume Report') in comparison to the 'Incoming Mail Daily Summary' report generated from the box itself, they don't seem to match up. I realize they show some different types of numbers, but the ones that I think should be relatively the same, don't seem to be.
For example, looking at the 'Daily Summary' report from the box, it says we received 56K SPAM detected messages. However, if I look at the MFC report for that same box, it totals 38K SPAM postive & suspected. Also, the 'Daily Summary' shows 168K clean messages, while the MFC shows about 300K (after filtering out the spam/virus numbers).
I guess what I'm looking for is an explanation of the difference between the 2 reports and which is more accurate for reporting to management. For example, using the 'Daily Summary' report, I see 1.5M attempted msgs, 1.4M total threat messages, and 168K 'clean' messages. This is pretty much the norm, and I want to know if it's what's really going on.
If this is documented somewhere, I haven't been able to find it.

Loading Individual serial numbers through interface

We are on R12. How do we load individual serial numbers (non sequential) through the receiving interface. I know we can do it through forms (select the “Lot/Serial” button, click on the “Individual” radio button).
In the receiving interface, MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS_INTERFACE table only has From_serial_number and To_serial_number and this way we can only load the sequential serial numbers. How do we load non-sequential SN's through program? Any advise?

Just populate FM_SERIAL_NUMBER and TO_SERIAL_NUMBER with the same, i.e. individual, serial number for each of your non-sequential series.

I'm writing this with zero experience so please be nice I am trying to print a numbers spreadsheet and I want the Column numbers to show (1,2,3 down the side and A, B,C up top) How can I do this? Thanks.

Apple's design philosophy (keep it simple and non-technical on the surface) is pretty well known, so to me it's not that surprising when they extend that philosophy to Numbers: quite a bit of power under the hood but a deceptively simple interface.
My experience shouldn't be an issue here. But since you brought it up, I am a long-time heavy user of spreadsheets, of Excel more than Numbers, but I find Numbers handy as well, and thought I'd point out my perspective, in response to your "are you kidding?" comment.
In Numbers, column letters and row numbers are just a quick click or a tap away, quite handy for my needs, and I like the fact that they recede gracefully into the background when not needed.
If unlike me you still do a lot of printing out to static reports (as opposed to sharing results dynamically online or on, say, a tablet) then you won't be as happy with Numbers as with many other spreadsheets.
But, as I say, you might consider in your menu going to Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback.

The phone number format as well as the date language and format and the time format are controlled by the Region Format setting. Go to Settings > General >International > Region Format. When you change a region format, you can go back one page (to International) and see an example of the date/time/phone number format that your selected region format will produce.

Numbers 3.1 wants me to first save in Numbers '09 - only have Numbers '08...

So I successfully migrated my stuff from my old Macbook Pro to the new one.
All seems well except...
When opening items saved with Numbers '08 - Numbers 3.1 says it can't open the document and wants me to save in '09 first.
Probelm is I don't have '09 Numbers.
It doesn't seem to be in the App store either.
How do I fix this....?

My comment:
I have Numbers '09 (Numbers 2.3) and Numbers 3.1. This works, but I have not tested Numbers '08!
So, between the three of us, we may find a way.
Export to Excel. Numbers 3 exports to .xlsx. Numbers 2 exports to .xls. I am guessing that Numbers '08 exports to .xls.
Numbers 3 will open either document. Be prepared for the usual glitches that occur when converting to and fro between Numbers and Excel.
Not tested from Numbers '08. Good Luck!

Labor time report at each individual level

I want to take report on each individual employee labor hours based on the time confirmation they did thru IW41, Is there any standard report available???? we dont have activity types as we are not settling cost for the inhouse labor but doing time confirmation as we need ot track the time. Any help guys.

Try using IW47 and grouping by work centre, then summating the hours
Alternatively, download to Excel and create your own macros

Change Start page numbering to Auto Page numbering in the Numbering & Section Options using script

1. I have many documents to add into a book. After adding the documents, all file page numbers should be continued from the previous file. Now I am doing manually for all files at all time. Numbering & Section Options => Start Page Numbering at: to Automatic Page Numbering.
2. And also I need to add the Chapter number with the page number (Ex: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 … , 2/2, 2/3, 2/4 …., 3/2, 3/3, 3/4 ….). Here also I am doing manually like. Numbering & Section Options => Page Numbering => Section Prefix: 1 and Include Prefix When Numbering Pages. (The page number should start from 2).
Note: In Every chapter opening there will be a file name called S… (Ex: Ch 1: S3391.indd, Ch 2: S3392.indd, Ch 3: S3393.indd). So after every S(S3391, S3392 …) file the next file page number should starts from 1/2, 1/3. 2/2, 2/2 ….

I had an iMac running Snow Leopard + iWork'08.
I've just bought a Mac Book Air running Maverick + Numbers 3.0.
I can' open files created with Numers '08. System says that I have to upgrade files first with Numbers '09.
Unfortunately, I have not Numbers '09.
Anybody know how to open Numbers '08 files in Numbers 3.0 ?

If you can't get help at the first level of AppleCare, ask to be transferred to Customer Relations.
A couple of other options would be to buy the retail box of iWork '09 from a third party such as Amazon.com or eBay. Be sure to run Software Update after installing & before running any of the applications. You can also download the standalone updater from this page. Or check this link for the iWork '09 trial. I have no idea if it is still available.

         In CUCM version 10.X there's the settings "+E.164 alternate numbers and enterprise alternate numbers". Can these be used instead of configuring each DN as a E164/+E164 number? Preventing the required translation patterns needed for abbreviated dialing ? If so are there any Caveats? Or are these only for ILS/GDPR ?

BI Report showing NULL for decimal numbers

In an earlier version of BI we had an issue with our Reports where any numbers with digits after the decimal would return a blank result in the report (the correct numbers would still show up in the Data Model's sample data), but only when viewed as an Interactive report (PDF views were fine). However, after an upgrade it happened with any report views, not just the Interactive Report view. I found a work-around for this were I CAST each number column to Double Precision, and then it would show up fine. That worked for a few months, only now it doesn't work at all. After speaking with the system admin, I do no think any upgrades happened between when the CAST solution started working and when it stopped working.
Has anyone else witnessed this issue?

Okay, apparently the CAST solution is still working, just not when I use a SUM (have not tested other aggregates). Creating a sub-query like below, however, works:
SELECT CAST(result AS DOUBLE PRECISION)
FROM
SELECT SUM(col_1) AS result
FROM table_1

BI Publisher Report does not display decimal numbers

Hi,
I have created a one page BI Publisher Report. I generally take the .xdm and .xdoz files and send it to the client which they upload on their server. The report has been coming up fine until recently there was a glitch on the Client Server. Now the report does not show a a section which has decimal numbers. I can see it perfectly on my machine. I am extremely frustrated to search for a solution and client is not very helpful in providing the information what went wrong or what was the fix on their server. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If i am understanding your issue right i guess i have faced the same one while ago.
The solution for this one is, if you are on the latest patch or update, i am on July update
Go to
Administration--> manage Bi Publisher under Bi Publisher --> under run time configuration --> properties --> the last option on the list which is Use 11.1.1.5 compatibility mode true --> apply
now it should be working

You can use T-Code - MB51, here you can generate report material wise purchase order with batch numbers and here to see stock in so give movement type 101 to see all Batches received against purchase orders

Is there any way to set up a system in Numbers where numbers from individual spreadsheet can get funneled into a Master Spreadsheet to calculate the total of all of the individual spreadsheets automatically?

I use Numbers for my business and I currently use it to create individual invoices and then (manually) enter the totals from the invoices into a Master Spreadsheet where I can see the sum of the individual totals. Is there anyway to set up a formula or a system that automatically funnels the numbers from the Individual Spreadsheets into the Master Spreadsheet to calculate a total?

If you can tolerate all the data and the summary being in a single document, this can be done. Any cell in a document can reference any other cell in the same document for the purpose of making a summary or other calculations.

Possible to sort phone numbers in individual Contacts?

I believe I know the answer to this question, though it seems there would have to be a workaround, even if using Terminal.
Many of my contacts have 5 or more phone numbers. I might also have 10 different URLs and/or several addresses. I'd like to have the ability, when in "Edit," to simply drag numbers/URLs up or down to re-sort their order. There also doesn't appear to be any pattern to ordering how information is entered. For example, if I began fresh and just added URLs they won't necessary stay in the order of entry.
But even that becomes complicated since I normally add URLs over time and it wouldn't be feasible to delete and re-enter all the information every time I want to make a simple addition.
Perhaps part of my problem is I'm such a die-hard Apple fan that I'm not even looking at other programs where that would be possible. I just like the seamless integration of all things Apple.
Thoughts? Ideas? Thank you.
