please help..!!!
my company mail server cannot syncronise with M4E....
when i call my IT staff, they say the SLL must be off, then i change the secure connection menu to "No" but it still cann not connect...
if i use my other company mail server it works with ssl....
please help... i really need it

Is your own Exchange/OWA environment prepared for MfE sync usage as told in the documentation? ActiveSync must be enabled there.
Are you able to use your company Exchange/Outlook Web Access service with a ordinary web browser from a client host over the internet without SSL encrytion - http://owaurl.your.company/exchange ?

    Well, I have N97 with MFE 2.0.9.208 and all worked well till a week ago.
    suddenly it stopped syncing with error 15006.
    Uninstalling and reinstalling the MFE helped for 1 day and than is stopped working again.
    I'm syncing to Exchange 2003 latest SP.
    there is no (-) sign in the email address as well.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • E71 - MFE Set Up - Help Needed

    Hi,
    Hope someone can help here. Have MFE on E71 and have entered the details I believe are relevant from my work Microsoft Outlook account. However, when I try and sync, I get 'Connection error, try again later'. I think I have either the domain or ports wrong, but have no idea where I can find this information?
    The username and password settings are what I use to log in to my email account, are these case sensitive?
    The exchange server I have got directly from Microsoft Outlook via Tools-Email Accounts-View or Change-Change (and it is there).
    The only thing left I am not 100% sure on is the domain and the ports?
    If anyone can tell me where these can be found on my system or in Outlook setting, it would be much appreciated.

    You can get all the information from the network administrator / whoever looks after your Exchange Server...
    If you log on to the network that the Exchange server's on, the domain's in the box underneath the password box, most admins use the default ports, but the administrator will be able to confirm that. Also, you need to make sure that mobile access is enabled - another question for the administrator...
    Not a great deal of help there I'm afraid, but the administrator's the person to ask in this case

  • MFE - Server Error 501 Not Implemented - Help Pls

    Hi,
    I have a Nokia E71 with MFE (latest version) installed and set up with the correct connection and credentials etc
    Once i have run through the set up process i get an error which in the logs is viewed as follows:
    PeakTime active
    Setting OFFLINE Status to False
    Missing Protocol Version Header. Reverting to EAS 2.0
    HTTP Server Error 501: NotImplemented
    Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

    For anyone else who encounters this post, if you're synchronizing your device to an Exchange 2007 server, please try placing a new email in your exchange Inbox to see if that corrects the problem. This error is commonly encountered after a device synchronizes data using a synchronization application other than MfE. 
    If placing a new item in your Exchange Inbox doesn't work, please power off, then on your device, select MfE > Options > Full resync to synchronize your data.

    I am using N97, and trying to access MfE with my company's e-mail id. We have taken e-mail id from Yahoo Small Business. 
    My question is
    1. Is it possible to access Yahoo Small Business's e-mail on my N97 using MfE (I am using it with normal Mailbox option in phone).
    2. If we can use what is the server name which I need to use for this application (It is not accepting pop.bizmail.yahoo.com).
    Please help me out.

  • Need help with the Nokia N8 or I need to send it b...

    I purchased a new N8 from Amazon and I have had nothing but issues. It has been very disappointing and I need to know if it the new firmware will fix any of these or not.
    1. Once a day, while I am on a call, the phone says "insert a SIM card" and then reboots. I have to then turn off (after the reboot), release and reinsert the SIM card and restart. This works about 75% of the time. I have seen this issue reported on here but not answers.
    2. Accuwearther widget stopped working. I called accuweather and they said:
    Thank you for making AccuWeather.com your source of weather information on the go! We are aware that the widget will get stuck in a ?Loading...? mode which does not allow you to view the weather. We have contacted Nokia and have been informed that the application is not having an issue but there is a bug within the phone build that is causing this message. While we regret to inform you that we do not have a timeline from Nokia when to expect this fix,....
    Is there a fix coming?
    3. You cannot manually setup an IMAP Gmail account. The wizard forces you into the default POP3 and then my mail is not synced. I have tried MfE but then HTML does not work correctly.Any chance this can be fixed.
    4. I cannot use data and voice at the same time. During the long drive today, I tried a to navigate while on a conference call. It says "cannot find connection". I had to end the call, update the maps and then redo the call "10 TIMES". I know AT&T supports this because my E71 works fine. What happened to this feature.
    5. The GPS is funky. I walked to a local tavern using the maps. When I got inside, I tried to update my location on Facebook for my friends to find me, but it kept saying that I was 4 blocks away. I thought the GPS/aGPS would be better.
    6. There are only two social networks I can update. **bleep**?
    7. WfE keeps failing on replies.
    8. I cannot get out of "Battery Save Mode" I have released it about 20 times and it still asks me if I want to get out (this could be the data/voice problem above).
    I have switched back to the E71 and am going to send this back to Amazon unless there is a major update on the way.
    I don't mean to rant but as far as quality, this is terrible. Shame on you Nokia. Here is your chance to at least gain back some customers and you put this in the field.

    Ok, I have to say I was really impressed by the effort. Nokia Support (in The Philippines) called me 4 times over the last 2 days to help with my phone.
    Here is there responses have put them in order of my questions.
    1. I am to reinstall the operating system on the phone. They said that this is the most likely (but not confirmed) fix to the SIM card problem (although they would not confirm it was a problem with the phone).
    2. No answer because we did not get that far.
    3. To setup a gmail IMAP account you MUST us Nokia messaging. Period. Since I have security concerns, that is out of the question.
    4. This is the big one that stopped it. The Nokia N8 is a Class B cell phone meaning that you cannot use data and voice at the same time. They told me that all Nokia phones were Class B, but I told them my E71 is not. After research, I found that the E71 and E72 is Class A (Can do voice and data at the same time) and that the N8 is Class B. Here is an article explaining the difference. This was a deal breaker. I cannot access the internet while I am on a call. Reminds me of a dial up modem.
    5. Reinstall the software and it might fix it.
    6. No answer.
    7. Use Nokia Messaging.

    So, I am sending the phone back because I cannot use it. I cannot imagine a smart phone on the market that cannot do internet and voice at the same time.
    Too bad.The N8 is a terrific camera and you should buy it for that, but look elsewhere for a smartphone.

  • Mail for Exchange (MfE): multiple copies of distr...

    Please refer to configuration data mentioned above. I'm seeking help for the following, quite bizarre problem...
    When my secretary sends a distribution list email on which I'm included, I receive numerous copies of that email on my E71.
    Even worse: it's impossble to delete those copies from my E71. The only way out is to completely remove the MfE-account on my E71, make a new one and re-synchronize.
    This only happens on my E71, not on the Inbox (Outlook 2007) on my PC, nor on Outlook Web App (OWA). There I correctly receive just one copy of the message concerned.
    Apart from that: this ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY seems to happen with distribution list e-mails sent by my secretary...?! AFAIA all other distribution list e-mails reach my E71 appropriately: i.e. single copy.

    EAS is Exchange ActiveSync, so it's definitely MfE alright. Try reinstalling it.
    Edit- Actually if you've installed a new version, that would've done the same job, so my advice is no use.

    I did try System.in.read() but it didn't work either. However, going the the archives here I found a version of the following code. finally some code that works. I modified it so that it would play a sound when the app starts. Althoug the code works, pushing the play sound button to fast will cause the app to not play a sound for a long time. some tweeking is needed.

  • Wildcard SSL Certificates with MFE?

    Is anyone using a wildcard SSL certificate on their mail server when using Mail for Exchange on assorted Nokia E Series mobiles please?
    We currently use a straight SSL cert and MFE works with no problem, however I've been looking into getting a single wildcard SSL certificate for our domain.
    Before doing anything I figured I'd try a website that used a wildcard certificate.
    When I did this (using an E51) I got the message "Website has sent a certificate with a different website name than requested" and was prompted to accept once, permanently, or don't accept.
    My question is whether this message would come up in a clear/obvious manner when using Mail For Exchange on a Nokia (so I can tell our users what to do when it does), and whether anyone has encountered issues using a wildcard with Nokias when using Mail for Exchange.
    If anyone has an E-Series and is using a Wildcard cert can you let me know if you've encountered any issues please?

    What kind of cert & website you used on your own tests? Was the cert something like *.example.com? And the domain, was it https://something.example.com or https://example.com ? AFAIK wildcard doesn't match addresses consisting domain part only, so the latter one might not work.

  • Cant get into MfE when phones set to "off peak" ti...

    On the weekend (off-peak time) I couldn’t synchronies (kept telling me to set up an Exchange profile), didnt receive any emails (sent a few to the company account which is set up on the phone to test it but no luck) and couldnt get into the MfE settings (menu -> mfe and from there I couldnt do anything, hit options and it showed the usual menu but when I clicked on Open nothing happened and even the left-right moving locked up, all I could do is to quit to the "desktop") The phone was working fine apart from this (and been working fine since this year april, even upgraded to the latest firmware in the same month) and had no problems with it till the weekend. Tried rebooting (switch off and on) : no luck.Our Exchange server was fine ok all weekend, managed to log into my account, no error logs that would indicate it was the servers fault. Other people (with the same phone, same firmware, same settings) had no problems accessing their emails on the weekend. This morning as soon as it hit the scheduled peak time it started working fine, emails started coming in. In peak time it syncs every 30 mins and in off-peak it syncs every 6 hours.  Any suggestions/solutions would be highly appreciated since I cant be without phone and emails the coming weekend. 

    My girlfriend was having a similar problem with her N95 phone. I'd spotted a couple of posts like this one, but no solution. Here's how I fixed it...
    Used nokia pc suite to back everything up off the phone.
    We tried resetting the phone to factory settings using both the option within the phone, and the reset code, but still couldn't access messages.
    We then entered *#7370# to reformat the phone, and messages were than accessible.
    As we thought might happen, when we restored the full backup in nokia pc suite, the messages couldn't be accessed.
    We reformatted the phone a second time, and restored the backup using nokia pc suite again but this time we didn't restore the settings. Messaging was accessible again, the old messages, contacts etc were all there. All that needed setting up again were things like selected ring tones.

  • E71 MfE - new calendar appointments do not appear ...

    If I add a new calendar appointment on the E71 mfe does update the calendar on my Exchange Server however the new appointment is not visible within Outlook.
    I can tell it has updated to the exchange end as when I check my calendar from within the webmail interface of exchange I can see the appointment.
    From Outlook using the day/week/month views the appointment is not visible. The only way I can see the appointment within Outlook is to click view > current view > all apointments, the appointment will appear within the list of appointments.
    The only difference I can see with appointments created on the handset and the desktop is that handset created appointments do not appear to have an 'end date' listed in outlook (perhaps this is why I cant see them in other views?). I have entered an end date on the handset at the time of creating the appointment.
    Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong?

  • MfE with Certificate Based Authentication on E6

    Hello,
    I've been trying to setup MfE on my E6 but I can't find a way to configure it to use a personal certificate, I even tried using "Nokia Configuration Tool" but it tells me that my device does not support MfE with Certificate Based Authentication, I get "Invalid Credentials" when using a username & password.
    I get the same error on both Anna and Belle.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Nokia e71: Email Message playback for MFE?

    I noticed last week that my e71 had a really cool feature. If I press and hold the the top left blue (menu) button a voice comes on and starts telling me about all the email messages (subject line) in my default Nokia POP Email Account.
    Does anyone know how to do this for MFE? I have multiple email accounts setup on the phone so it would be nice to do this for all of them. Also, is there any thing else that can be done in this mode? For example, use voice commands to delete or read the email (not just the subject).

    Go to emai.nokia.com, here you can reactivate your Nokia Messaging Account. As for the memory full, make sure you have the latest firmware, or you can contact Nokia Care who are very capable of helping you trouble shoot this.

    quick question: is it possible to get multiple email accounts installed to Mail for Exchange phone client? If not will there a possibility for this in the future?
    Any workarounds for this issue? All help is highly appreciated. We are using E90 models.

    With www.seven.com you can have multiple accounts, but only one can be exchange or notus lotes (to sync contacts, calendar,etc). In addition, you can add accounts for gmail, yahoo, aol, pop, imap, etc. IMHO Seven is better than MFE or Roadsync.

  • MFE sync problem in E63

    I have installed MFE on my new e63 but it does not sync my mails. After going through this board, I upgraded to the latest firmware and MFE. I have just 20 mails in my inbox and there are not many subfolders. It connects to the exchange server and seems to do a sync but no mails are downloaded on my phone. Strangely it updates the calender and contacts but the mails do not appear. Once during night time just 3 mails arrived on phone. So it cannot be a connectivity or credential issue.
    Can anyone help? Am I missing something?

    The Syncronise Email setting is turned to Yes.
