  • Cool Down Mode

Hi everyone! I have an HP Laserjet Color 100 MFP M175a...I bought it two months ago and until now I've printed many documents of excellent quality ...I changed the toner and it has continued to print fine, until today ...after printing 100 page b/w and color,  the display sign Printing Cool Down Mode...One page every 10 minutes...it's impossible to continue..Please, someone can help me...
    Thank You!

    Hi Notorius,
This is normal when you are printing this many pages at one seating. The fuser which bonds the toner to the paper needs to have a chance to cool down so that it doesn't over heat and cause damage to the paper or printer.
Printing... Cool-down mode - The product is too hot to continue printing at normal speed. The product will pause longer between printed pages until it cools down.
Overheating occurs when the product lacks air ventilation or when it prints continuously for a long period of time. To prevent overheating, place the product in a well-ventilated area, and divide very large print jobs into smaller print jobs.

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Printer always cool-down mode

Hi there, i am also meeting with the same issues like the cooldown mode printing.

Hi , I found something written by that you may find helpful regarding the printer going into cool down mode: I have provided a document with Resolving Control Panel Messages. Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. Update the printer's firmware. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Drivers. Where is the printer located? (enclosed shelf, desk)How many pages are you printing when you get this message? What is the paper's weight and what kind of paper are you using?  If the issue persists, please post back with the answer to the above questions.  Thanks.

  • ALWAYS Display Printing.... Cool-Down mode

I need that private-message solution, too.  My printer is on a table, set well away (8 inches) from the wall, and is plugged directly to the AC outlet.  The paper is Office Max Laser Paper, 96 bright, 24 lb., 8 1/2 X 11.  One page prints, then the printer stops and the "Printing. . . Cool-down mode" message appears on the panel; that message stays on the screen for about 3-5 minutes, then another page prints, and the cycle continues.  "HP Update" reports "No new updates available."  This just started today, right in the midst of my printing some needed material.  Please help!

Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to reply to my plea.
A confession:  I found that I did not need to perform the NVRAM Programming Reset on my printer.  Since, with the "Printing . . . Cool-down mode" pauses, the printer was taking so long to print each page, I left it working to go off and do some other chores.  While I was away, the paper ran out, and naturally the printer stopped printing.  By the time I got back and loaded more paper, quite a bit of time had passed.  When I resumed the printing process, the printer worked fine.
My guess:  between the time the paper ran out and my starting it again, the printer had cooled enough that it no longer had to go into "cool-down mode" after each page.  I used the printer again this morning, and it worked perfectly.
So my suggestion to others who have this problem:  try shutting down the printer for 15-20 minutes.  When you turn it back on, it just may work correctly again.

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw doesn't print under user account. Windows 7 Pro x86

    Dear Sirs,
We found a bug using HP CLJ Pro MFP M177fw on windows 7 pro 32-bit edition.
In our company we use custom folder to keep temporary files of all user accounts. It is C:\temp. So in the environment variables window we have user variables TEMP and TMP with the C:\temp path. System variables TEMP/TMP are the same.
After installing MFP's driver, under accounts with administrator rights we can print normally. But when we use account with user rights print doesn't work. Trying to print windows test page, we receive error message "Test page failed to print" and spooler state is clean. When we change user variables TEMP/TMP on default %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp,  we can print testpage successfully.
With older model HP CLJ Pro MFP M175 we have no trouble at our customized operating systems.
Can we hope on fixing print driver with regard to this problem?

  • Laserjet pro mfp m177fw - cannot install print cartridge

I recently purchased my printer, and now I have to replace the black cartridge for the first time.
The graphics on the printer cartridge itself, and the videos on the HP site are not of any help. the directions say to insert the cartridge into the slots and push into the retainer with the other cartridges.
When I slide the cartridge into the left and right slots, the cartridge will not slide down easily. I have to force it  and one side will slide and the other will not. I do not want to force it, in fear that I might break the printer.
Is there a more visual graphic somewhere on the HP site, on the internate, or on Youtube, that can help me solve this cartridge replacement issue?

    Hi, mxhall,
Welcome to the HP Forum. Sorry to hear you're having issues installing the new black toner cartridge in your LaserJet Pro M177fw.
First of all, you were very wise not to force the cartridge into the slot. Doing so could damage the printer and the cartridge.
Please take a look at the document at this link:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c03922339&lc=en&product=5445914&tmp...
Hopefully, it will resolve the issue.
Also, as you're inserting the cartridge into the printer, make sure that both ends enter their respective slots at the same time. If the cartridge is tilted even a little, it can make it hard to push the cartridge into the printer.
    Thanks, mxhall. Hope this helps.

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw ; stuck in Initializing... mode

My printer was working fine and suddenly stopped working. The printer now is stuck in the initializing mode. I've restored the factory setting, power cycled the printer (both with the power button and by disconnecting the power cord) to no avail. How do I go about getting the printer operating once again?
Saw the exact same problem from some others, but not able to see any replies.

    Hi @SSAB ,
I can send you that information in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.
What happened prior to this issue? (update, paper jam, changed toner)
I would do a hard reset if you haven't tried this method.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

I have bought Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw before only 3days. From the very begining It says printing.... cooldown mood, and take a long paus. This issue occures after printing each page. I am using HP Toners. And my directly connected with wall socket(Electric).  Please help me. It is urgent for me. Thanks in advance.

Afternoon , I found some information about the cool-down mode on your Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw. The product is too hot to continue printing at normal speed.
The product will pause longer between printed pages until it cools down.
Overheating occurs when the product lacks air ventilation or when it prints continuously for a long period of time. To prevent overheating, place the product in a well-ventilated area, and divide very large print jobs into smaller print jobs.Other than using it in a well ventilated room, you could see if there are any firmware updates available. You can click on this link to Getting Printer Updates for HP LaserJet Pro. If the issue continues, I would Contact HP Support for further assistance. hi all
i'm using libreoffice on both windows and linux (mint ubuntu and debian testing) and sometimes i have to print on very non standard sizes: 102 * 333 mm
it's a huge pain to decently print on such a paper: is there an easy workaround, especially for linux?
yesterday i've noticed that after some 50 prints on such a format, printer would stop before each print for cooling down, even if it didn't work or has been off for minutes: is it normal?
    thank you
