Mfp m276 print quality issue

I Have been attempting to resolve an issue with my under warrantee printer for a while now. The problem is that all text and pdf prints are perfect, but as soon as a full size image is attempted it prints blue artefacts usually a blue banding. I have tried wifi, usb printing but the results are the same. I contacted HP to see if they had a solution but after much printing, scanning and emailing they came to the conclusion (incorrectly) that the printer was faulty. So sent a reconditioned one when I printed the same results appeared marred blue artefacts in the same way exactly as the previous printer. The text or pdf etc was fine, perfect. I was escalated to a level 2 technician who was due to call me back on Monday, but no call came. So frustrated I emailed HP to see if i had been forgotten!! I later got a call apologising for lack of contact from the technician apparently it was not a fixable issue. And was then told I would be contacted by the customer relations team and offered a replacement printer as there was nothing that could be done. A few calls later I was indeed offered a printer but had to decide which ‘upgrade’ would be offered and I was told I would be contacted in eight hours with a answer. Yes you guessed it no call (seeing a pattern here) so I called and the person who dealt with me (Louise) was on another call but was told she would call tomorrow. I received the call from Louise and was offered the money back as to quote her ‘We can’t offer you a replacement printer as the replacement printer may have the same problem’ I asked how ALL the LaserJet pro range can suffer from this issue. I was just parrot fashion told again the refund was my only option. Now if this is a range wide issue why has there been no recall, but as I believe HP don’t want to upgrade me to a working printer due to cost they should jus own up and say so. Now some background information, this printer was purchased brand new boxed from a company on eBay as an auction and as such was much cheaper than its RRP price and this I believe is why HP are trying to ‘buyback’ my printer at the reduced cost and not replace it. All I want is a working printer is this soooooo much to ask? If anyone can give me an explanation as to fixing my printer I would be grateful because sure as eggs are eggs HP can’t.

Let me add my two cents here.  I do not know what is wrong with the printer, but to be honest if the same issue happened with the replacement, I would think HP just wants to wash their hands of you as a customer since they feel they will not be able to satisfy you.  I would think if this was an issue with all M276 printers there would be 100's of post on this forum with the issue and there is not.  I do not know if the replacment printer came with new toner cartridges, but generally if you have an issue with just one color it is the toner cartridge that is causing the issue.  When you print in black and white most times the printer is not using the color toners, but when you print with any color then it does.  If you print a demo page from the printer and the cyan artifacts are there my guess is toner cartridge issue.  If the demo page does not exhibit the issue and it only happens on a print job sent from the computer, save the file as a pdf and then try to print it and see if the issue is still there.  My two cents.

I have had this printer for about a year now.  Now it has started printing solid black lines across the page I am printing, whether it be from my computer or a fax.  I can run the cleaning process from the printer and its fine for a few hours and then back to the solid black lines.  It gets so bad there is more ink on the paper than white when it does this.  Have tried everything I can think  of to cure this to no avail.  I am running hp cartridges and just plain white paper.  Any ideas as to how to fix this.  These lines are thick lines, just not _____ but are about 1 " wide each.
I really need help with this really soon or I will have to replace it with another brand.  I use this in my office and can't have important faxes coming across with all these lines so I can't read it.  I posted this Saturday and still waiting for someone to respond.

    Hi @RandallRaley ,
I understand that when printing, you are getting solid black lines across the paper and now on the back of the paper. You are using HP cartridges, plain paper and have ran the cleanings with the same result. I can help you today.
Try another type of 20lb -24lb plain paper to see if you have the same results.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Drivers.
Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.
    Try printing again.
If the issue persists, follow the steps for aligning and cleaning the toners, printing a Print Quality page, inspecting the toner for damage, checking the paper and driver settings to see if this will resolve the issue.

  • Print quality issues

    Hello
We are having print quality issue when printing PDF's to our Canon iR C2880/C3380 UFR II.  This was the most recent print driver from canons website which was download about 6 weeks ago. version 2.9.  At one time we were having other pring quality issues and we changed from the post script driver to the ufr ii which solved the problem at the time.
This past saturday we upgrade the operating systems on the systems in question and they are now running windows 7 64 bit with service pack 1 installed. image 1 is the orignal pdf that was printed with a 3rd party pdf printer(PDF Xchange view version 2.5)  image 2 is the same document that was printed using acrobat reader 10.1.2
the options for the print were pretty much identical between the program.  Print as image was not selected.  1 thing to note with the acrobat when  print as image was selected there was a slight improvement in the print quality.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

  • Hp Color Laser Jet 5550dn Print Quality Issues

    Good Afternoon,
I have a Hp Color Laser Jet 5550dn that has some print quality issue.  I've attached a black and white scan, but the color is a light blue to blue that form the blotches.  On the back of the page there are blue and pink streaks.
I can print more sample pages or print them in color, but anyone have any idea what could be going on here?

We are encountering a similar problem. The streaking is coming fromt the Cyan cartridge and has continued for over a year now, despite numerous cartridge changes and replacing the transfrer case. It is progressively getting worse and I have yet to find a solution to this problem online. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

  • HP Officejet Pro L7590 - print quality issue

We've had a lot of problems with this unit since day one.  It simply wouldn't work with our XP computers.  Thankfully it does work with our new Windows 7 computer.
The problem I'm having is that I have to clean the printheads at least once, if not twice, before every print job if it hasn't printed anything recently (even an hour or two).
Although we've had the printer for a while, it has hardly been used because it wouldn't work with our previous computers (and I gave up trading emails with HP support because the situation just got worse each time we tried something, not better).  The myPrintMileage function says we've printed just over 300 pages (and I can pretty much guarantee that at least 250 of those have been diagnostic pages trying to get it working, not actual print jobs).
The only advice I can find on the troubleshooting page is to replace the printhead/s.  Is that really the case?  We have already had to replace ink cartridges before we ever got the printer working.  If we now have to replace one or both printheads this machine is proving very costly to run.  I would be very disappointed to find we had had to replace all four ink cartridges and both printheads before we ever got the machine working properly.
I'd appreciate any feedback you can offer on this please.

  • Print Quality Issues on OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g

The print utility says that the onlly cartridge getting low on ink is the yellow, but the guide says not to change the cartridge until it gives you the message to change it. And it has been printing OK until today, when the black ink started getting splotchy. But the utility shows plenty of black ink in the cartridge. I cleaned the print heads, and that changed nothing. I printed out a print head health quality test, and oddly the only thing that printed was two blocks of magenta--the rest totally blank. Odd because the print utility only shows the yellow getting low and that not even ready to change.
I don't want to open up new cartridges for nothing because these signs don't necessarily add up to this being due to empty cartridges. So I am stuck as to how discover what the problem is.

  • Xerox Phaser 7500 Print Quality Issues (streaks) See Photo

Our Phaser 7500 is printing streaks when toner is light (heavy toner doesn't seem to be an issue) If we print a low percentage of black - IE: 5%-20% black AKA: Gray - we get streaks.See sample image. I thought the issue was the imaging unit, so I swapped out the BLACK with each of the other units (putting CYAN in BLACK slot, then printing, doing the same with yellow and magenta). The attached photo shows each of the imaging units in the BLACK slot, printing the same page which is 10% black.
The 'streaks' all appear in the same location regardless of the imaing unit. NOTE: We used the cleaning rods on all four imaging units NOTE: I also ran the "REMOVE PRINT SMEARS" option at the printer control panel. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. Thank you!

Thank you CherylO ! Following the steps: 1. Print the Troubleshooting Print Quality Page to Help Diagnose a Print Quality Problem I did this first and followed instructions to remove streaks, which printed out blank pages 2. Clean Each of the Four LEDs Yup! Did this several times. 3. Make Sure the Printer is Placed on a Flat, Hard, Level Surface Using a level, the printer is flat. 4. Print a Multiple Page Job With Only Blank Sheets of Paper to Clean the Paper Path Printed several blank sheets... 5. Remove Each Imaging Unit, Check for Damage, Re-install the Unit Not sure what to look for here, but I switched around the imaging units, and nothing changes with the streaks. That's all five suggestions, do I call customer support?
    Thanks for your help!

  • HP Photosmart 5520 print quality issues - Not printing black

    Hi,
I bought a HP 5520 printer. I used it once and printed less than 10 photos and it was great the quality was superb.
I went to use it for the second time and the print quality was terrible. There is no problem with the printer responding to comannds it tries to print just it is awful quality.
I used the trouble shooting guide that HP have posted on line. I went through every step multiple times - I am using the correct paper, Genuine HP cartridges.
I got to the step where you run the Print Quality Diagnostic Report and there is NO Black present, Yellow is faint and the other colours have horizontal streaks.
I ran multiple print head cleans and no change.
I bought brand new HP print cartridges and still no change also ran multiple print head cleans and Print Quality Diagnostic Reports but still the same.
I tried to phone HP technical support but as I am at work just now and not with the printer they would not put me through to a technician
They told me to try and get an online Chat with a technician - well a few attempts and hours later still no response from them
Has anybody got any help on this issues please?
    Chris

    Hi,
Yes it is in Warranty. It is virtually brand new.
After I last posted I got through to the online chat support and was sent an email with options to 'troubleshoot' which I had already done with no success.
I was also given a link to try to update the printer firmware - which I will try when I get home from work.
I will see if that makes any difference but am sceptical as the printer worked fine the first time round but hasn't worked since and nothing has changed on it.

  • Print Quality Issue 6500a e710n-z

How can I change the print quality setting up or down. The preferences are locked on 300 dpi no matter what I change. Sometimes if I delete all drivers and reload the setting will come back at 600 dpi but again the settings are un-changable. I'm using windows 7 software.  I have tried for 2 weeks to get an answer and no one seems to know. Please help!

    Hi bnachsin,
hmmmm...can you describe the software application you are using when printing, and attempting to change the print settings? Also, can you note which OS (Win7, etc) you are using?
Lastly, can you describe if this only happen with certain print jobs (text, etc) or all print jobs, and describe what you are printing?
    bhachsin,
it occured to me that this device may be relying on a media sensor to perform paper type/width detection.
Question: are you using specific/special paper (colored, pre-printed paper, or cheques) for your print job?
Quick test: If you are using special paper, try using a white, plain sheet of paper instead of the paper you using and let me know the results.

  • CLJ 2605dn Colors Off, Print Quality Issue

My issue is that when printing colors, they aren't correct. The Magenta on a Supplies Status page is poor quality. Printing 'Reds' are also poor, but I'm not convinced the other colors are accurate, either, though not as poor and look fairly good. I won't rule out a bad Magenta toner catridge, though all the catridges are over 80% remaining.
    When printing a self-created test print (ms-paint):
    Red: lightly shaded and faded.
    Blue: Solid, looks normal.
    Yellow: Solid, looks normal.
    Black: Solid, looks normal.
Grey: print and shade as expected, normal.
Green: prints as more of an aqua and is not true green.
Pink: very, very light and hard to see.
So, given these characteristics am I just looking at a defective Magenta toner cartridge, or could something else be going on, such as formatter or transfer kit? I'd like to logically rule out formatter and transfer kit before bying a new Magenta (it's at 81%).
If it is a defective Q6003A how do I get a replacement for it without just going out and buying a new one, hence risking the $ to do so?
    Thanks in advance

  • Email html formatted (Text) printing quality issue on hp 6500a (710a)

I experience some quality problems printing html formatted mails (not attachments, only standard text). The characters are printed with different free space between every char. There is no special sign or format. It happens from different note/netbooks/iphone.
Pure email-Text-Printing is ok (same text), Attachment-Printing (word-doc arial text only) is ok (same text).
The  printer has the actual firmware, alle computers and iphone are uptodate. Reset is no solution. Problems are reproducable on other hp 6500 series printers.
    See attached example

    kaaemm,
Unfortunately, HTML formatted emails are not currently supported. They may go through and print, but results will vary. Only HTML attachments are supported at this time.

  • HP Laserjet 5200tn Print Quality Issue

Hi I am looking for some help with my HP LaserJet 5200tn. The problems all started back when I was getting a printer error 51.2 turned the printer off and on for a while to clear the error. Like the Tech manual says. This went on for a week showing back up after about 100 pages or so. At this point I replaced the Laser/Scanner assembly. The error hasn’t shown up since it’s been replaced. Instead a new Issue showed up. I am getting Light document prints (See attached Images Below).  So I then replaced the DC controller seeing how that is next on the list in the tech manual. To no avail the issue of the light documents is still there, and yes I have tried every setting in the options to try and darken up the document.
*Image above is from the same toner cart but in a diffrent 5200tn

  • HP LaserJet 5500dtn print quality issues: vertical and horizontal streaks

    Hi,
I am getting large vertical yellow streaks, accompanied by cyan and magenta vertical dashes on each print.  Also, each page has vertical and horizontal black streaks.  I've cleaned the fuser and that hasn't made much of a difference.  I've also tried cleaning some of the cartridges, which didn't help.  The internal roller of each cartridge continues to get covered with excess toner.  Furthermore, I get a weird offset of some of the text (a faded version of the text that is offset about 1.5" from the regular text).  Is there anyway to fix this issue by cleaning certain parts?  Any other suggestions?  Thanks

Welcome to the HP Forums YHendrikx,
I see by your post that you are only getting blue output.
I can help you with this issue.
Inspect the toner cartridge for damage:
    1. Remove the toner cartridge from the product and verify that the sealing tape has been removed.
    2. Check the memory chip for damage.
    3. Examine the surface of the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge.
CAUTION: Do not touch the roller (imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge.
Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print-quality problems.
    4. If you see any scratches, fingerprints, toner or other damage on the imaging drum, replace the toner.
    5. If the imaging drum does not appear to be damaged, rock the toner cartridge gently several times and reinstall it. Print a few pages to see if the problem has resolved.
