MG6220 Randomly Goes Offline, Won't Power Down Correctly

Connected wirelessly. Printer goes offline for all PCs in my LAN. Attempting to power down printer with power button results in the printer endlessly displaying message "powering down, please wait" but printer never shuts down. Manually unplugging the printer and turning back brings the printer back online. Did not see any similar threads on this site. Any help appreciated. Thanks

  • Zen Vision:M 30GB won't power down; any ide

I've had a 30GB Zen Vision M for a couple of months now! Awesome player, went through the usual round of recognition problems, but it's been working fine of late. My problem is, it won't power down now. When I try to power down, the unit says it's powering down, the dispaly goes black except for the battery icon. And it stops there. The blue backlight on the menu buttons stays on, the battery icon stays on, and eventually it turns off after 5 minutes because of being idle. Not a terrible problem I know, but a real niusance. I am running the most current firmware (have been for a while). I've tried resetting and clean-up. No change. I'm afraid of trying to reinstall the firmware, in case I have the same problem that many others are having, and go from a good player with a power issue, to a player that does nothing. I can't see it being the power switch itself, since it powers up fine, and tries to power down. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. birder

This is really annoying and I really want it fixed!!  In most cases, Skype will go offline at around 12 seconds to 30mins during the call. My internet disconnects but I can still surf the web. Please fix this immediatly because this so so annoying. PLEASE HELP!! THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I COULD THINK OF!!!

You can uninstall current version of Skype from the control Panel and you can install Special Version.
    http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-sse
and disable automatic updating of Skype.
In Skype, Tools >> Options >> Advanced >> Automatic updates >> Click on Turn off automatic updates >> Save Changes.

  • My iPod won't power down?

    Hello
I have an iPod Nano that I keep on a radio/alarm clock thing. Sometimes when I take it off it won't power down. Does anyone know how I can get it to power down?

SOmetimes you just have to wait a few seconds after pausing it and/or removing it from the dock before shutting it down. This is normal. If it still won't shut down after ten seconds or so, you might try holding the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons until you see the Apple logo to reset it - then see if it'll shut down.
    Cheers!

  • Ipod won't power down

I can't get my ipod to power down. It's constantly staying on, draining the battery. It won't power down automatically or manually by holding down play/pause.

I found another question and answer about the same issue, and was able to correct the problem.

  • P1102w goes offline / won't accept firmware update

    Hi,
I own a HP Laserjet Professional P1102w successfully working on a wireless network.
My main problem is that when the printer goes to sleep, my new laptop sees it as offline until I reboot it.
In attempting to resolve this issue I am now at the stage of updating the printer to the latest firmware. After downloading the firmware update software, turning off the printer, plugging it into my new laptop via USB, and executing the firmware update program I am shown a dialog box with the following message:
"Cannot find a HP LaserJet Professional P1100/P1560/P1600 Series printer installed on this system"
I am now stuck on two fronts fixing my problem.
    Please advise?
    Thank you,
    Richard

    Louie,
Currently our newest version is NI-Motion 8.4
You can check what your version of NI-Motion is by going into MAX and expanding the Software tab on the left hand side.
If you have already tried this on multiple computers, then this is leaning towards a hardware fault in the card and you will most likely need to contact your account representative to begin an RMA process.
But before we do that, please reply with your NI-Motion version, and if you have not done so already, please remove the card from your computer and reinstall your NI-Motion software and reboot. Then power down and reinsert the card and attempt to update the firmware again. Before you attempt to initialize in MAX, reboot the system again.
If you encounter the same problem after this, then the card is at fault and needs replacement.

  • Email randomly goes offline. Can I somehow get it to stay online unless I ask it not to?

    Thunderbird question.
Email seems to work fine for me, but... It sometimes may go offline when I am on the web or have put it to sleep. I look for emails and the pop-up says: "You are offline. Would you like to go online...." Not a big deal, but annoying, and also troubling in that I don't know what I may have done to bring this on. It may happen several times in a day, or it may behave itself for a day or two.

Thunderbird goes offline when it sees the network connection go away. Keep that from happening and Thunderbird stays online.
Are you on a laptop that goes to sleep and powers down the network card?
Have you discovered the online/offline icon in the lower left corner of the screen? It looks like 2 monitors. You can check and change states from there.

  • G4 mini Random Shutdown; Now Won't Power On, Power Supply Problem?

Twice now, my G4 mini has simply turned off randomly. The first time, it eventually restarted, and all was good until today, when it did it again. This time, it simply won't power on, much less boot. I wanted to run this by someone else (no Mac people here but me) before I bought a second power supply.
    What I've noticed:
*If I plug a cold power supply into the wall, and then into the mini, the mini lights up for maybe half a second, then turns off again.
*Then, leaving mini plugged in to the PS, if I uplug the PS from the wall, wait ~3-5 minutes, plug it back in, the mini will light up for 1/2 second again.
*If I then unplug the PS from the mini (but leaving the PS plugged into the PS), wait ~3-5 min again, then plug the PS back into the mini, nothing happens. No lights, fireworks, nada.
I have repeated every possible combination of plugged/unplugged mini/PS in several outlets throughout my building. It seems that if I have a "hot" PS the mini will not light up no matter what. If the PS is "cold", and has sat for a few minutes, the machine will try to boot.
All I can think is that something in the mini is tripping a safety on the PS, or the PS is just tripping on its own.
    Bad PS?

It's possible the previous power supply failed in a way that caused damage to the system, or of course for another fault to have developed with these symptoms.
It's interesting that it worked, apparently properly, because that tends to suggest the fault is something new, or that you have power issues of another kind external to the Mac.
I would suggest you try and reset the PMU since this controls the power management functions of the system.
    - Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord.
    - Wait 10 seconds.
    - Plug in the power cord while simultaneously pressing and holding the power button on the back of the computer.
    - Let go of the power button.
    - Press the power button once more to start up your Mac mini.
This may not help much, but it's well worth trying.

  • Muvo T200 Won't Power down or pause

I bought a muvo t200 for my husband for his birthday (as a match to my own). Aftger upgrading the firmware to .03.03 it will turn on, but won't pause or power down. About one in three times, pressing the power down button causes it to either skip to the designated shortcut or go to the options. the rest of the menu seems to be working ok.
    Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for helping out!
    - Clarinda

Can you try resetting it to see if that helps?
Insert and remove a straightened paperclip from the Reset Hole.
If this does not work, you probably need to format the player.

  • Hamachi randomly goes offline

I've loaded Hamachi (the latest version, 2.2.0.377) on a friend's Windows 7 computer. It's been on there for a while (a couple of years). I have been logging on recently to do some tech support for him and have noticed that occasionally when I go to connect, Hamachi is offline. I can connect (via TeamViewer) to another computer in his network running Hamachi and then get to this computer as well to get Hamachi back online. The next day I typically have to do the same thing to get back in. The Windows 7 machine is not rebooting; it remains logged on and working fine. I've left the Hamachi chat window on my side open for long periods of time and I can see his machine going offline, online, back offline, etc. at random times. He's not doing it manually. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Hamachi to no avail. Anyone ever seen anything like this? And have a fix? Thanks,Brian

Hi We get this issue too, it happens when a connection becomes poor such as 3G or Satelite.WE have managed to write a script that fires it back up but really isnt viable long term. This issue makes the product completely useless and there seems to be no response to the issue. We are moving to NeoRouter but are sad that what was a great solution is not viable anymore.   Ken

  • IPhone 4s won't power down

Recently I have noticed that my iphone will not power down.  I go to turn it off and it goes through the process of shutting itself down and then after two seconds magically turns itself back on again.  After this happening several times I have tried pretty much everything to fix it.  I have tried resetting the settings, deleting data and settings, full restore and cleaned out the charging port but all to no avail.  The problem continues.  Has anyone actually had this problem fixed?  Would be nice to be able to power my phone off, especially with filights to catch in the near future.

  • 5th Gen 60G Won't Power Down-NO SLEEP

My 5th gen 60g's are not powering down, the backlight will go off, but they will NOT power down! I've reset, re-installed and used factory defaults, but they still drain down the battery because they WON"T SHUT OFF

I'm looking into the same problem. A friend has a 5G 30GB video that's having insomnia. I've restored it a couple of times using itunes 8.0.1, and the firmware is version 1.3.
It's got a few problems. One is that it won't go to sleep by itself at all. If I enable the sleep menu option and select it, it "sorta tries to" go to sleep - i.e. the clickwheel stops responding but the screen stays on (if the backlight is set to "always on" then that also stays on). The clickwheel stops responding to swizzling until I press a button.
Also, when I do a reset (hold down center/menu buttons) it forgets all the menu and clickwheel settings when it reboots and even asks me to choose the language again. I believe this only started happening in the last couple of weeks. I don't know if a firmware upgrade triggered it.
It's chewing up the battery very quickly the way it is. I've loaned the owner my old 20GB photo for the time being and this one will sit on a charger until a solution appears
I hope someone at apple spots this and writes a patch!
    Thanks
    Matt.

  • Macbook won't power down

Bought a brand new Aluminum Macbook 4 days ago, and it worked perfectly for the fisrt 3 days, but today it has decided to not power down or let me log off. When I try to shut it down, it acts normally at first, closing out all my open apps but then it just does nothing and won't turn off.

Have you tried holding down the power (on/off) button to force shut down?

4S top button won't power off only go to sleep mode. How can I power the phone down?

Thanks - Sometimes this works and then it doesn't always do the trick. I wonder if there is a combination of buttons that could be pushed to shut the phone down?
