MGCP and Call Preservation

Hello Experts,
I am using MGCP BTW CallManager and the Gateway with PRI. Yesterday we lost the CallManager and all phones registered with our SRST router (Backup). When CallManager went down all active calls dropped and when it came up(recovery) all active calls dropped again. Is it a normal behavior? Is there anyway that I can avoid the call drop?

What version of CCM are you using? Prior to CCM 3.1, both Layer 2 and Layer 3 signaling were passed to CCM by the gateway. If you lose Layer 2 on a PRI, you lose the D channel and therefore, all B channels. CCM 3.1 and later use the PRI backhaul method which terminates Layer 2 on the voice gateway. So, if the connection to CCM is lost, the D channel stays up and the call is preserved. Take a look at the following link.

  • MGCP and H323 redundancy calling issue......

    I have call Manager 7.1 and there is 2 MGCP gateways registered on the CUCM. Each gateway has 1 PRI line and this setup is working fine. Now I am adding new PRI line for redundancy prospect. So I had added the new E1 card for each gateway and then I have created the H323 trunk between the Voice gateway and CUCM. I have configured the Route Group and Route list for MGCP and H323.If primary MGCP is down call auto routed to H323.
    Now when MGCP is down, call is auto routed to H323 and its hitting on the proper PRI port but call is not getting established and incoming is working fine.

    Hi Rupesh,
    The cause code "Idenfied channel does not exist" means:- This code indicates a call attempted on a channel that is not configured on the far end. This could happen if you are using a fractional PRI
    Please ask to remote end for the number of channels configured and you can configure that number of channels accordingly at your end.
    In CUCM 7.1 there is a service parameter which will help you to use the number of channel as per your requirement and rest of the channels you can mark it as busy so that CUCM won't select that channel.
    Service Parameters > Call Manager > Advanced > CTRL-F > "maintenance"
    In that you will find "Change B-Channel Maintenance Status" and mark channel as 1 which you don't want you to use.
    For further information regarding this parameter you can click on that parameter and you will get more information.
    And to enable above mentioned parameter, go to MGCP Gateway configuration page and check the box "Enable Status Poll"

  • Call preservation with Gatekeeper controlled inter-cluster trunks on CM8.5

    Is call preservation possible with gatekeeper contolled ICT on CM 8.5 when a subscriber goes down? My testing shows the call drops. Can this be corrected?

    In the Service Parameters for CUCM H323.  Make sure the Allow Peer Preserve H.323 Call is set to True.  By default, its False.   I noticed this on my H323 gateways I just migrated... dropped CUCM and my calls dropped when they should have stayed up, but did not.   See that helps on the GK

  • MGCP and H323 on one gateway

    I have a customer that is deploying CVP and as such needs H323 gateways. All of there current gateways are MGCP and they do not want to change that, and they don't want to have buy second gateways to support call center calls. In the SRND guide for CVP it states mgcp and h323 can be on one box, as long as h323 controls the trunks for cvp calls. I have never tried running mgcp and h323 at the same time. What pitfalls or limitations are there (srst?)

    I am doing this in a similar environment (cvp 3.1 with mgcp/h323 on the same box).
    The caveat of "as long as h323 controls the trunks for cvp calls" is pretty big though because the customer would have to have seperate pri's/t1 cas links just for inbound cvp calls.
    We have tested SRST and it works properly. MGCP falls back to h.323 and the inbound calls over that PRI (the pri controlled by MGCP) route properly. Inbound calls to the "CVP PRI" still routes calls properly (assuming you have alias's, num-exp, etc setup to handle these calls appropriately.)

    It sounds like your call quality and reception are low both inside, and outside. I want to recommend a couple of articles to help troubleshoot the cellular connection quality. The first is named:

    Increase the volume during the call.
    Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
    Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
    Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
    Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
    If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
    Restart the iPhone.
    Make sure your device is up to date.
    If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, contact Apple Support.

  • Dropped calls and "Call failed" on edge

    My experience has been the opposite from others on the forum with the new 2.0.2 software. I can get 3G in town and I can place and receive calls just fine. At home, I only have an edge connection with usually 2-3 bars. 9 out of 10 calls I try to make from home fail. I get the three beeps and "Call failed" message on the screen. Usually it is a split second after I hit the call button. It's not even trying to make the call. I have restored it, restarted, etc. and it still happens! I cannot make a phone call at all. This is my business phone, and it is affecting my response to clients. Anyone have any suggestions? I will probably go to the genius bar tomorrow, but if I don't have to go through the hassle, I won't.

    Does this happen in all locations, or just your home?
    What does the AT&T coverage map show for your home?
    I live in a moderate area, and AT&T's disclaimer on the coverage map says that Good and Moderate may not have in building coverage. Not only does my iPhone sometimes not pick up a signal or complete calls, the same applies to other AT&T phones there.
    My home is also made of stucco, which along with brick and cement block, is one of the worst materials for blocking signals.
    If this only happens in one location, I would recommend contact AT&T and see if they will open a ticket. The probably won't open a ticket if your coverage is listed as "Moderate"

    2) I can sound very stupid since my head is aching I am not a regular plsql coder but from now on I would be one, please helpJust for your sake, to Compare 60 tables (Supposing you just want to verify count of records), you are writing an entire procedure; You might have completed this activity by now doing the manual way. By taking this way, you are investing time to generate a correct code (as you just mentioned not being a regular plsql developer) you are stuck with some un-identifiable issues.
    As an alternate way, I would suggest you to export the data, after ordering, into a spreadsheet and then validate. Also, since it looks like you are comparing the data in the same database between schemas, you can also use the SQL Navigators Data Compare utility and there are many more readily available in market.
    I would wish you the best if you still prefer taking the approach.

  • Simply way to make sub vi and call it form main vi

    I'm a beginner and have major problems to make a sub vi and call it from main vi. I'm going to do a save dialog where is extra info for my saving and want to call dialog from main vi and after that save info to a file or database. I want that save dialog appears after i press button. I attach sub vi where is no functionality yet.

    The first step is to connect the controls and indicators that you want to pass information to and from your main vi.
    You right-click on the icon at the top right corner of the Front Panel and select "Show Connector". Typically put inputs at the left and outputs at the right side of the connector pane. Save it.
    Open the main vi. Go to the block diagram. Click on "Select a vi" inside the Functions Palette. And choose the sub vi you prepared. Then wire it up inside your main vi.

    Why REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY and CALL TRANSACTION  after called then I click the back button to return to the calling program but it automatic return to the source code? (it hasn't saves the data in alv grid )
    In another case of this program, after automatic return to the source code then I have to waiting for 5-10 mins for execute again cuz if  immediately execute the program don't fill any data to the alv grid.
    I have problem with a simple source code like this

  • Error while updating data using session and call transaction method

    Hi all,
        i have to update data using MM01 transaction from flat file to database.i have used both session method and call transaction method to do that.in both the methods data has been transferred from internal tables to screens but while updating the data that is by clicking the ok-code at the end of the transaction iam getting a dialogue box stating
       SAP EXPRESS DOCUMENT "UPDATE WAS TERMINATED" RECEIVED FROM AUTHOR "SAP".
      please tell whether the problem lies and solution for that.

    once again record the transacton mm01.
