MHS-TS20 software problems

I have Windows Vista 32 bit (it's absurd that apparently they don't have a software for 64 bit).
When I first plugged the Sony BLoggie in, it looked like it was downloading some software but I did not perform any of the steps that were detailed in the instructions. I did not select "Setup Bloggie Software". Anyway, the bloggie eventually downloaded the movies but they suck. They are choppy.
Is the problem that I did not download the software using the steps in the instructions? Problem is, it doesn't appear the software is even there.

I have had the same issues with the Bloggie HD.
I tried to install the Bloggie software on my laptop. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit (a supported OS) and had nothing but trouble installing this software.
When the Setup_Bloggie.exe application was run, I encountered Javascript errors which prevented me from installing the Bloggie software on my computer. Being a systems administrator, I tracked down the javascript file that was being run by this program and attempted to bypass the Setup_Bloggie.exe program altogether (It turns out that the "Controls" object was having issues. I found the install program and went to run it manually. The install only got about 60% of the way before failing because it claimed to be missing files. I ran back through the code and found that a few files did seem to be missing.
At this point I contacted Sony's customer support (people you would expect to be at least moderately technical) to see if they could send me a link to a new version of the Bloggie Software. After an hour with customer service, I had lost my patience and received no help at all. I would go 5 - 10 minutes without any kind of response (This was over their online support chat client) and in the end he kept telling me to read the manual (which simply told me to run Setup_Bloggie.exe). Despite multiple requests to speak to an engineer, he just told me I should contact a different department. Rather than transfer me himself, he wanted me to call in later.
After a little while longer, I did manage to install the Bloggie Software on my own, but I still cannot get it to function correctly. If you receive error messages when attempting to install the software, try the following:
Please remember that I am a very experienced user. I would NOT recommend that anyone try this if they are not comfortable getting their hands dirty so to speak. Instead, I would recommend that we all push for Sony to release some software that works. I am not responsible for anything that may happen to your computer if you attempt this procedure.
1.) Go to the "Start" Menu and open the "Control Panel".
2.) Click on "Folder Options".
3.) In the new window, click on the "View" tab along the top bar.
4.) Scroll down until you see "Hidden Files and Folders". Click "Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives" underneath this item.
5.) Click "Apply" (Leave this window open. It is a good idea to click "Don't Show Hidden Files, Folders, or Drives" as soon as you finish this process.
6.) Open "My Computer" or "Computer".
7.) Find "Bloggie Software (J" along the left hand bar.
8.) Open the "conf" folder.
9.) Scroll down until you see "Setup" or "Setup.exe".
10.) Right-click on this item and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility"
11.) In the new window that opens, click "Start the Program...".
This will install the program. However, even after installing and updating the software, the software will STILL not recognize my Bloggie. I still cannot synch my camera with my computer.
Note that the updates require this same procedure, but you first have to find the updated software files (The same files that Sony would not provide me earlier) in your C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\" directory. Mine was titled 1293649297.
As for the camera itself, I found it to be a bit lacking in color saturation and contrast. Everything seemed a bit flat. Then again, I couldn't get Sony's software to work properly, so there may be something in there that can correct these issues.
All in all, I like the Bloggie HD for what it is. It's a (relatively) cheap, pocket video camera. I wouldn't use it to shoot anything serious, but it's great for those times when your boss takes you to a "unique" restaurant and the food is still moving. Assuming Sony ever fixes their software issues, this could be a great product.

  • SONY Bloggie MHS-TS20 install issue

I bought a SONY Bloggie Touch MHS-TS20 and am trying to launch the software. I get so far as installing it and says 'starting', but then i get directed to a google chrome page that says:
" oops! google chrome could not connect to localhost:2468" then nothing. I've tried un-installing it and re-installing but I get the same error message everytime. I'm using an HP with Vista.

    Hello All,
Out of curiosity - Have you tried to disable the Firewall software prior to installing the software? I know when I did the install (I don't use google chrome) but Windows Firewall did require that I "Allow" the bloggie software access to the internet.
Try disabling your Firewall software be it Symantec, Norton, McAfee or Windows - Then install the software and see if you have the problem.
    In Peace and Agape,

  • Sony Bloggie MHS-TS20

Recently purchased this Bloggie from Costco. I have taken both video and still with this camera and have installed the software on my computer. I connected the Bloggie to my computer via the USB flip and expected it to upload my video and stills. After leaving it connected for 2 days, the Bloggie still hasn't uploaded most of my video or stills. I don't have much video or stills so I can't imagine it would take so long to upload. I don't get any error messages, just a box saying "importing". Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • Kernel panic but software problem

Kernel panic (the "You have to restart your computer" message at startup) is said to come from hardware problems but this seems to be a software problem - maybe somebody can help me!
It started slowly with the fans coming on more often than ususally. Then, I had some kernel panics at startup, usually after two or three false stars, the system would load. Hardware Test said everything was OK, Disc Utility corrected a few permission errors, but the problem persisted. I tried everything: Disconnecting everything, removing PCI card, you name it, nothing helped.
Only thing that did help was start over. "Archive and install" was not good enough, I had to start from zero. Which means that all my iTunes library and all the rest waas lost. Made a disc image on an external HD and went for it.
After that, I upgraded to 10.4.11 and tried the migration assistant. Left some of the programs out from the old installation, but took my Documents folder with me. Imported my iTunes library and iPhoto pictures. Until then, everything was perfect. After that point, the fan started its strange behavior again, and today guess what: You have to restart your c.!
So it must have to do with the programs and data that I imported, and not hardware. Have no idea though - anyone run into similar problems?
Apart from standard apps, the only thing I use is Cubase but I haven´t touched it for a long time.

Hi, thanks for your reply! I am now trying to rebuild everything using 10.4.7 ... seems the driver for the audio card (m-audio) was at least causing problems. I´ll see if it was the only one. I did the system updates whenever they popped up in software update but there wasn´t even a driver available for 10.4.11.
If that´s not it, I´ll try to use your tips! Thank you!

  • HT4060 My  first generation Ipad won't allow me to charge it by the mains socket.  This was a replacement as my origional Ipad had a software problem.  I have rebooted it a number of times but still not charging.  Any advice?

My Ipad 3G has decided not to charge.  I have been using the same charger that came with it which worked perfectly until a few days ago.  I have even tried to charge it using my incar charger, but it still won't charge up.  This Ipad is a replacement as my first one had software problems, so I am hoping this can get fixed and not result in another replacement.
I will be grateful for any advice.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • MacBook Pro 13" Early 2011 Backlight Keyboard Not Working?! Software Problem...

So my "MacBook Pro 13" Early 2011" backlight keyboard hasn't been working. I have tried LabTick today, doesn't fix anything. Even in high or low lighting situations (dispite the Adjust keyboard brightness in low light being off) doesn't like to go on. It doesn't give me a circle with a cross like it does with that box checked in day light. It shows on the screen the
16 dots fully light after hitting F6 fully, just it doesn't light up. I one time had to reset my Mac OS at the Apple Store, it fixed the problem, but when I restored with a time machine backup, it went back to this software problem. How can I fix this?! What is wrong with my OS? Mountain Lion? How can I fix this?!

If it does not detect the display automatically, try going to system preferences>displays, click detect displays.

  • My macbook pro 15 mid2010, crash every time in the last month. What can i do? Is a hardware or software problem?

The problem is that my mac is working very well, in soft programs, like browser or text editing, and then stop. Stop for one eternity, until i do a hard shut down.
After this situation apper´s many times, in a single day, i went to a apple service store and left my mac to repair. At first, the tecnhical manager told me that happens a lot, and the problem are in the logic board. Well, when i pick up the mac, he told me that was a software problem and was solved with the instalation of 10.8.5, but in that same day, he crash 3 or 4 times, in different way´s. Now, he crash´s and restart alone, and at the first try don´t restart appearing one message on the grey screen.
I don´t know what is this problem.
Someone have or had this problem too?
    What is the solution?
    Thanks a lot...

Maybe find a local who can translate for you. I don't know what to tell you for dealing in another country for service on your computer.
I can offer you something you can do if you want to give it a try. You'll need a backup of your data in your Home folder because you need to erase the drive. You'll also need a solid, preferably fast, internet connection.
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • My Ipod touch screen will not come  up unless I conect it to the computer. It never gets past the apple logo and never fully retores? My screen is crackd a little at the bottom. Is this a screen or software problem?

My ipod touch 4will not respond unless  I hook it up to the computer. It never goes pasthe logo apple screen. It never restores fully. Cant tell if this is a screen or software problem.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • MBP 2011 GPU failure or software problem?

    Hello there,
since Januari 1, 2015 my Macbook Pro 15" (purchased in 2011) is having major problems! How things started:
I was just watching a movie on Netflix, pauzed it, went to the toilet and when I came back my MBP had a black screen. I could hear the fans working (when I pressed my head against the keyboard) but it did not respond to anything. All I could do was a hard reboot.
After reboot I got the Apple logo, but the screen looked not as smooth as before. When I looked closer I saw very thin, horizontal lines (color pink/brown?) across the entire screen. These lines were not perfect. They had a small break in the middle. After the Apple screen I got different results:
    - White/Grey or maybe very pale blue-ish screen -> Does nothing behind this
-----> This is also the most frequent result of a boot
    - Normal blue screen -> Checkered screen -> Back to the blue screen to end with a Kernel Panic screen
Since a few days I can "normally" boot again but it crashes after a while. I don't know what the trigger is. It may be coincidence but it always crashed when I tried to go on the internet or used an application wich used the airport (also used a cable). Maybe important to mention is that this "normal" boot happens after the "checkered" screen mentioned above.
-----> The "crash" in this normal boot happens like this:
    - Total freeze of the MBP
    - Crashes on a black screen (like I had before)
    - Crashes on a dark blue/purple(?) screen -> This is also the most frequent crash after a "normal" boot and happens faster and faster.
Safe boot: Sometimes a normal screen but most of the time a screen with pink, very low resolution bands (vertical) across the screen.
When I tried searching for solutions on the internet I immediately came across this:
    http://www.mbp2011.com/
The screens show exactly what I'm experiencing. The culprit in this case: GPU failure.
BUT, isn't it strange I don't have any glitching (apart from the boot in safe mode, the Apple Logo and the checkered screen) or distortion on my screen, that it sometimes has a clear screen, like nothing is wrong? Unlike many of the people with the GPU failure, I CAN boot the MBP with a normal screen, only it isn't very stable and it is only occasionally.
    Things I've done so far:
    1. Reinstall OS X (10.6.7) from the original installation disc.
    2. I have tried NVRAM and PRAM (cmd+option+P+R), no change.
    3. Verbose-mode (cmd+V). (the last thing I could see was something about the Airport) I did this 2 times. First time it crashed on a black screen after the Verbose-mode. Second time it got stuck on the grey screen.
    4. Single-user Mode (cmd+S). Everything looked fine, no errors on hard disk.
    5. Start in Safe Mode. (Shift). The bar doesn't load until the end but it boots in safe mode, but with the pink bars on the screen
    6. Re-apply of thermal paste on GPU
The programmer at our work has over 30 years of experience with Apple and has never seen something like this. He also doesn't understand why it would be a hardware failure, because the glitches are "symmetrical", it can boot "normally" and he can't find anything wrong with it. He is now looking for something in the software wich may cause the MBP to crash. Could it just be a software problem? As I said before: It could be a coincidence but the crashes (after a "normal" boot) always appeared after trying to connect to the internet, using the internet or using an application that uses the internet (like the App Store -> I was trying to download Yosemite, it crashed around 70% of the download). And in Verbose mode the last line said something about the Airport and then it crashed.
My MBP is a Macbook Pro 15" (bought in July 2011), 2 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB 1333 MHz DD3
AMD Radeon HD 6490M, Part nr. MC721FN/A.
I am running Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8
I spent the last two weeks on the internet to understand that if it is indeed the GPU that is failing, the replacement of the entire Logic Board is necessary, wich is VERY expensive... This cost would be more or less ok for me, but I read about failing after replacement, a LOT. Why would I pay so much money for a repair that only lasts just over 90 days? That is ridiculous!
Sorry for spelling/grammar mistakes, English isn't my first language and really thank you in advance. This MBP is impossible to replace (no money...) so I hope someone can help me.
Ask away if I did not provide any information that is necessary for troubleshooting.

    Anyone?

  • Windows xp pro stalls - blank screen- hardware or software problem?

    Hi Guys,
My system is about one month old and has been awesome in performance and graphics.
Suddenly it (windows xp pro) stalls after flashing the windows loading screen and it goes blank. Looks like a software problem?
I am posting on this forum because when I check cmos, no hard drives are registered.
I can't get into safe mode, can't get past the administrator/user screen because no mouse operates here and can't select icons with the keyboard.(No admin passwords were set up anyway)
Booting from CD, repair console doesn't work because it can't find any hard drive.
Reluctant to do a complete reinstall because of precious stuff on the hard drive.
Using f8, "last known good..." just gives the same blank screen.
Using floppy boot, no other drives are recognized.
If my root directory has been wiped out by a virus or something, how come it gets past post and starts to load windows? If it's merely the graphics driver or similar not loading, how come the cmos shows no hard drive?
Is this a hardware or software problem? Any help much appreciated.

    THE ANSWER !!
    Hi Guys,
I finally got to talk to the guy who set up this system and he said that it is normal for RAID drives not to show on BIOS/CMOS. 'Think of it like a vrtual drive' he said. When the black and white initialization screen shows something like: 'Nividia Stripe-healthy'...then THAT is the hard-drive.
He said that as long as Windows was getting to the loading screen, that means that the computer itself was functioning okay, so don't worry about BIOS, the problem is a file corruption in windows, or virus etc.
Also he said that when trying to use recovery console or reinstall windows, because the system can only read the RAID drives through a SCSI interface, you have to load the Nvidia SCSI drivers from floppy by pressing f6 when asked to at the bottom of the pale blue screen (from Windows cd boot), before trying to do anything with windows (or windows will just tell you it can't read the drives, as it did before with me.)
So in the end, I reinstalled windows by that method and everyting seems fine so far. YAY!
Thanks you people for being kind enough to help someone out. I really appreciate it.

  • Need Help...Do I have The mother of all itunes software problems???

I am in desperate need of help. I have fried three new ipod touches in two days. I Purchased a new 32GB 2d Gen ipod touch on Mon. 11/24. Worked okay till Friday 11/28. When I tried to sync with new additions, a warning came up “the ipod could not be updated, an unknown error occurred (9)” That was followed by a windows vista windows warning “USB device not recognized”
When I disconnected the touch I found that it could not be started. Tried a forced restore pressing the sleep switch and the home button together. That did not work.
Brought the touch to my apple store genius bar on Saturday and they too couldn’t get it to work. They switched out the ipod with a new one. Brought the new one home connected it and it received the new ipod touch software download okay. But when it tried to sync the same problem repeated…the two pop up warnings as before and a second dead ipod!
I then synced my ipod classic with no problems, so it appears the itunes software is okay. I’ve scheduled another appointment with the local apple store genius bar again.
When I took the new fried touch back to the Apple genius bar, it was switched out again. It was activated (by the initial step ipod touch software download on their computer.
I brought my laptop with me so we could test the syncing. The syncing proceeded initially for several minutes, and then the dreaded pop up warnings appeared
“the ipod could not be updated, an unknown error occurred (9)” That was followed by a windows vista warning “USB device not recognized”
The new replacement ipod touch was also fried.
The tech gave me yet another new ipod touch. He had never encountered such a problem and advised me delete and reinstall itunes and call the APL CARE 800 support number and go over the problem with one of their techs who have a broad range of experience in dealing with possible PC related issues.
As my other ipod has no problem syncing from the same laptop (Dell Inspiron 1520 using Vista) I am wondering if the problem might be a corrupted Itunes software problem that affects only the touch and not the ipod classics.
Has anyone heard of a bad itunes software related problem? I googled this and could find no info. Thanks for your help!

If you click View, Show Sidebar you will see the other libraries under Shared in the left hand column. Click on the Library you want and you can expand it to select Music, Movies etc. Select whatever items you want and click import if you want to move them to your Library.
You will have to have all computers authorised with the relevant Apple ID's
    Store  >  Authorise this computer...
This is separate from the Home Sharing username and password and is to allow playing of DRM Movies, TV shows etc from the other computer.
If both Computers use the same apple id this step is not required.

  • Dead hard drive or software problem

    Hello Everyone!!
I recently picked used 600 Mhz iMac
It came with 10.3 installed, wanted to install 10.2.8 and the computer crashed when I started off the 9.1 install CD
After the crash, the computer would not start up off the hard drive, and I've tried several different installation CD's (including a 10.3 installer) and the hard drive does not even show up in the Disc Utility.
My first thought maybe my hard drive is dead, but the more I think about it the more I think that it must be some sort of software problem (i.e. data corruption on the drive or something). I mean, I don't believe it's even possible that a computer crash could kill a hard drive!
    But from there, I'm lost!
I've reset the PRAM, and that didn't work. The only other thing I can think of is something like Norton Utilities.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Best Regards,
    Bryan

    Bryan,Welcome to Discussions.
If the hard disk isn't showing in Disk Utility I would suspect the drive is dead or not connected properly - given it's age probably the former - although if's the machines been movede around a bit you could crack the case and check all the connections. Whilst I agree that a crash shouldn't kill a hard disk - a hard disk dying would cause a crash.
I, any many other's here, would counsel against using Norton on an OS X machine - Norton doesn't know and understand OS X structures and can cause serious issues.
Probably time for a new HDD.

  • Having software problem, Windows 7 Home, how to format and reinstall

Having software problems, Windows 7.  I have the HP  P6510 desktop. I have backed up my data to ext. drive, and  I have the Windows 7 Home CD which I purchased.
Most of the reading I've done to "format & reinstall" seem to say I don't need to format...just put the Windows 7 CD in and restart...is that all I have to do...I don't have to format the HD?
If I have to "format" the HD, how?
PS:(Last time Computer was in for repair, they replaced the Windows 7 program so product numbers may be different.)

    Hi:
You may want to read this step by step tutorial to install W7.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operatingsystems/ss/windows-7-clean-install-part-1.htm
However, to answer your question, you should not need to repartition or format the hard drive unless you want to.
Windows 7 will install on the current windows partition creating a windows.old folder, which you can delete after W7 is installed.
Having the windows.old folder is nice for folks like me who forgot to save a file or folder.  You can just browse to the Windows.old folder and retrieve any file or folder you want and copy it to the new windows installation.
When you are sure you have gotten all of your files from the windows.old folder you can delete it by launching the disk cleanup utility and then click on the Cleanup System Files button in the disk cleanup window.
Then just check the windows.old folder on the list of files and it will be deleted once you hit the OK button.
If you delete partitions and reformat, you will lose the option of having the windows.old folder.
The tutorial at the link above will step you thru the process of formatting the drive.

  • White screen when computer turned on. Software problem?

I have had my macbook for about 4 months, and it spent 3 months being repared! The first time for a problem of batteries that made the computer heat too much and turn off, and the second time because when i wanted to turn the macbook on, there was only a white screen with colored vertical layers on the screen, and impossible to do anything else than to just turn it off pushing the on/off button. They changed the CPU (it took them 2 month to change it btw) and gave it back to me 5 days ago. I used it twice this week end to watch a DVD and yesterday when i tried to turn it on, i had this white screen again! I called the hot line and they told me they heard of this problem but did not know what it was. they said they could talk me through some repair procedures on the phone that might help, but i needed to pay 50 Euros for it, although the computer is under warranty, if it's on the phone since it's faster we must pay! I was pretty upset and just hanged up and called my brother who told me to press 4 keys while putting the computer on and keeping those 4 keys pressed while the computer would turn itself on 7 or 8 times. After that i let the keys go, and it worked. Now the computer is working but i don't dare turning it off in case it wouldn't turn on again. So i'd like to know if anyone have had the same problem and might have an answer for this. Apparently it's not the CPU since it's new (unless i'm really unlucky and got a broken one twice) so maybe it's a software problem?
Also since it will be the third time in 4 month i bring the computer to repair it and i have not been able to use it more than 3 weeks, i asked if i could just exchange it and have a new one, and i'm told that's not possible, there has to be a commition to decide whether they can just replace it or not. I'm very upset now and disappointed with Apple!! Does anyone know how to make this computer exchange procedure a bit faster?
    Thanks for your help

Yes, i have tried that! They say the macbook has to go 4 times into repair, and twice for the same problem so that i can change it.
It is completely unbelievable. I am so disappointed with apple right now!
    Thanks for the advise though
