Mi imac no lee una unidad flash usb 2.0

no puedo lograr que mi imac lea una unidad flash usb 2.0.
Alguien podrá ayudarme?

Just to help a bit, though I have little idea what the problem may be, I though I would add this.
I'm using a 512 MB memory cards used in a Canon camera. I always format the and erase the card within the Canon camera. I shoot in Canons RAW format, which produces the largest file size per pic (around 9 ~ 10 MB). When shooting RAW, I also have the camera set to imbed a medium resolution jpeg, which I use for a quick look at images.
I use a SanDisk reader connected by USB 2.0 to a first generation 20" G5 iMac, and use both Canons and Photoshops image tools to view the images mounted from the memory card. I then selectively move the ones I wish to use (though sometimes I just save all of them) to the iMacs hard drive.
I also use a no-name USB 1.1 card reader on a dual G5 Mac from time to time. This USB reader was included by the photo store when I bought the Canon. It has their name on it, so can't tell you who really makes it. It also works fine, though of course slower then the other.
Both Macs are using Tiger 10.4.2 currently, but the G5s mentioned have been used with OS X as old as 10.3.6
As mentioned in my first message, have not had the problems with the memory card, card reader or Mac, that you have mentioned.
So in brief:
Canon Digital SLRs
512 MB memory card
SanDisk USB 2.0 card reader
No-Name USB 1.1 card reader
Format or erase media always in camera
Large image files 9-10 MB in size each.
Hope this helps in your trouble shooting.

  • Qosmio F30-140 - How to use Flash USB boot option?

    Dears,
After I update my laptop BIOS, when I start my laptop I find new boot method, it is from Flash USB ?:| How can I use it and what type of file must be in it? I mean .iso or what?
    Thanks

    Hi
I dont have Qosmio F30 so I cant test it for you but I think this options means that you can boot from an USB stick for example. Have you checked this?
You cant boot from an iso file because you must create a bootable media. For example a Windows start disc or a Linux version that you can boot from USB stick.

  • Flash USB destroyed or died after using on my Mac Book

Today my Kingston Flash USB pen drive (16GB) died after i eject it from my Mac Book Pro 15" Retina / OS X Mavericks. Now its not recognized when i plug it, and i cant see it on "Disk Utility" and when i plug it on Windows its installing the kingston drivers but there is nothing... :/ what should i do i have very important files on my pen drive

Sounds like that thumb drive has failed. Personally I have 3 Kingston USB thumbs and I will never buy another from them. some of the worst bthumb drives I have ever owned.
If the drive has failed your files are gone. No easy way to retrieve files from flash storage. Next time have backups of important files.

    Thanks Eric for responding.
I checked and it does not appear in the Applications folder.
I tried yesterday on an ethernet connection with a download speed of 2 Mbps but, unfortunately the connection died(It happened from the ISP end, which is out of my control) in between after which there was no trace of the download that happened for so long(till the internet connection death).
One more serious query which I am unable to understand. If the internet connection, dies in the midst of the download is in progress why is it so that the state does not persist and one has to restart the entire process again. Is there no solution for this?
I tried so many times and its the same case after some amount of download it vanishes. So many unsuccessful attempts. I am ****** off now. Is it not possible to see Mavericks? Why does different machines of Apple behave differently? Somewhere it goes smoothly and somewhere like my mine. Why did not Apple release a non apple store version? Is this not a bad sign of letting the users struggle when something is being offered for free?
The reason I asked as whether we can download the .app of Mavericks is that, there are so many applications that I have downloaded web and have installed. All that works fine. Can't we do the same here? You download a copy of Mavericks installer application and upload it for me in Google drive or like online storage places which can be downloaded and used by me? Help me understand.
    Thanks again.

  • Buying OSX App store on my imac and mounting it on a USB for my old MBP legal?

I want to buy OSX mountain lion in the App store on my imac and mount it on a USB to update my old MBP (running leopard so I can't use the app store.)
If I am using the same apple id for both computers is this legal or will the app store think I am putting it on extra computers, and shut me down or something?

Just to be clear the OSX mountain lion installer will not open even from a clean install, because the laptop is running 10.5.8
(My imac is running the latest mountain lion and the app store is already installed, I am not installing the appstore as the subject of this thread is a little confusing i realise now.)

  • Camcorder is flashing USB symbol, and refuses disconnection.

My camcorder is stuck, flashing USB symbol. Can't find my computer's Safety Hardware function to end the connection and disconnect the USB cable before using the camcorder. Any idea ?

Macs don't have a Safely Remove Hardware fuinction like Windows does. If there is an Icon for it on the desktop right click it and select Eject. If not on the desktop open Finder and do the same on the left hand panel.
If all that fails shut the system down and disconect the camera. Power the system back up.

  • My iMac won't read my flash drive

My iMac 27-inch, mid 2011, (OS X version 10.7.4) won't read my flash drives. I don't believe it is a formatting issue of the USB flash drive because the flash drives are easily read on my MacBook Air, 11-inch, late 2010 (OS X version 10.7.4). The drive occasionally will appear on the iMac, but not always, and I can't seem to figure out when it does and when it doesn't. When I use an external hard drive, it appears in the finder.  Just, not the flash drives.  So, I continually have to load from the flash drive to the Air and then connect to the iMac. It's kind of ridiculous. Does anyone have an idea why I can't read the flash drive on the iMac?

Could be a USB port glitch/problem - try these two troubleshooting methods:

  • IMac won't boot from Windows USB install stick

I have a iMac 7.1, the first gen Intel iMac, now running Moutain Lion 10.8.2. I installed Windows 7 via bootcamp two years ago via a flash disk, and the installation was smooth and easy. Now I want to try some Windows 8. I used the Windows USB install tool to clone the install disk into a flash drive and tested the flash drive on a windows computer first. It was working properly. But my iMac just couldn't boot from the flash disk when I pressed the option button during start-up. There's no icon for the flash disk. Then I clone the old Windows 7 install ISO into the flash disk, it wouldn't show in the boot options either! Why? Is it because of some firmware update? Why the same Windows 7 install image I used two years a ago can't boot now for the same iMac? Please help. Thanks!
    Jeff

I believe mende1's response is slightly incorrect. On older Mac computers that came with an internal DVD drive the only way to install Windows on those Mac's is from that internal DVD drive. Even if you connect an external DVD drive OS X and or the Mac computer Firmware will not allow the Win install DVD to boot from that external DVD drive. It must be done from the internal DVD drive. So if yours has failed then you would need to have it replaced before you can install Windows on your Mac.
I know this from personally trying to install Windows from an external DVD drive even when there is an internal DVD still in the system. My late 2011 MBP would not load the Win install from the external DVD drive but would from the internal DVD drive.
